Pinehurst was opened in 1991 by a small group of committed parents and staff. The original roll was 34 students. Initially, the site and buildings were leased, however, courage and foresight demonstrated by the original Board ensured the purchase of 8 hectares in the Albany Basin, a site now worth millions of dollars. The school is in Albany, on Auckland’s North Shore, a few minutes from the motorway. Manukau Christian School was established in 1987 in Great South Road, Manurewa, with a small core group of students and was known as St Andrew's Christian School. Ahuroa School enrolled its first pupils in 1888, on a site well removed from the present one. It was situated on what is now known as Hawkens Road, although at the time, that road did not exist. In 1930, the local settlers' desire to have the school situated on the main road now established along the valley floor resulted in a new school being built on the present site.
