Established in 1985, Vincent Massey has developed a long-standing reputation in the community for excellence in early education. A staple in West Toronto for over 30 years, Vincent Massey offers students a Reggio-inspired environment where everyday programs challenge them to test their assumptions and explore their curiosity as we open doors to exploration and inquiry. Vincent Massey is located 5 minutes south of the Q.E.W and just one block north of the Lakeshore. From children ranging from 3 months to 12 year years old, Vincent Massey Academy ensures that students start their education off in an engaging, supportive, and passionate learning environment. We are excited to share that our Day School has been officially launched at our Daisy Campus. With our programs planned to go as high as Grade 6, we are thrilled to take on this new chapter of excellence in education. Tours can be arranged throughout the school year to see if Vincent Massey is the right fit for you and your family. We are accepting applications for Junior and Senior Kindergarten and Grades 1, 2, and 3 for September 2020. Call to set up a tour today. The Reggio Emilia approach is an innovative and inspiring approach to early education. The cornerstone of the Reggio Emilia approach is its construct of a young child as strong, capable, resilient, and rich with wonder and knowledge. This philosophy understands that students enter the learning environment with a wide range of experiences and ideas that help to frame their future learning. In this approach, students are viewed as having a hundred languages in which to express themselves and it is the responsibility of the educators to observe the learning and expression of each student. The first year of life is a wonderful time for your child filled with curiosity, discovery, and growth. Our passion is to keep children rich with wonder by facilitating programs that nurture the child by implementing a daily routine while allowing the exploration of their senses. Our Infant Program is designed to create a warm, enriching, and safe environment where every infant is encouraged to learn, grow, and explore the world around them. Through thoughtful planning, ongoing assessment, and observation, teachers facilitate learning experiences that are developmentally appropriate and engaging for the youngest of learners. Allowing infants to explore the world around them by granting them independence, ensure their natural curiosity is fostered and can continue into toddlerhood. We support the development of the whole child as we set the stage for a lifelong love of learning. Choosing an education that is right for your family is an important step in ensuring that your child discovers a love for learning. At Vincent Massey, creating and facilitating an environment that is welcoming, enjoyable, and rich with learning is a top priority. We know that for children to set a solid foundation for learning, they must understand the role balance has in all aspects of life, especially education. Our balanced approach to education ensures that success is felt throughout all avenues of life. We believe by equipping our students with the tools to succeed not just academically - but emotionally, socially, and physically - we equip students with the skills necessary to navigate all aspects of life. Daily, we provide our students with the opportunity to test and develop critical thinking, problem-solving, communication, and innovation skills. We encourage them to ask questions, take risks, and collaborate with peers to help them in building a growth mindset and take agency over their learning. View full school

Welcome to St Vincent de Paul Catholic Primary School. St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Primary School has a long and proud tradition of serving the maritime parish of St. Vincent de Paul. Our school follows the tradition of our patron as it places Christ at its center as our community works to create an environment in which Gospel values are lived out and encapsulated in our Mission Statement of “Serving with Love, Striving for Excellence.” Our Catholic School exists to create and sustain an environment that has Christ and His teachings at its very heart. It is based on the belief that everything of worth comes from God and by working in partnership with priests, parishioners, and our families, we can establish a community of love, peace, and harmony between all in a climate of mutual trust and openness. We encourage our children to develop their academic potential and individual talents, giving all children confidence and self-esteem through praise, encouragement, and acceptance of their worth. Our children are our raison d’ etre as we prepare them to take their place in society, empowering them to become responsible citizens who will contribute positively, locally, nationally, and globally. The core British values include Democracy, Individual Liberty, The Rule of Law, Mutual Respect, Tolerance of Different Faiths and Beliefs. Our core curriculum is made up of English, Maths, Science, PE, and Religious Studies. The English curriculum consists of Reading, Writing, SPaG (Spelling, Punctuation, and Grammar), and Phonics. Pie Corbett’s Talk4Writing is used alongside resources to ensure children have access to a rich and stimulating curriculum. Talk for Writing, is powerful because it is based on the principles of how children learn. It is powerful because it enables children to imitate the language they need for a particular topic orally before reading and analyzing it and then writing their version. The children at St Vincent’s have been using this approach from the Early Years to Year 6 for several years. The approach has dramatically improved pupil happiness, confidence, and skill in writing, reading, and speaking. As our children have built a bank of language, including vocabulary, their desire to write and read has also improved. In addition to this approach, high-quality CPD ensures that children’s writing has a purpose, often finding work shared or even published through a variety of media. Projects such as ‘The Writing’s on the Wall’ have resulted in published work the children can truly be proud of. In the Early Years and Key Stage 1, children follow the Read, Write Inc scheme solely for the teaching of phonics, leading into early reading. The teaching of Maths has been revolutionized over the last year with St Vincent’s investing in the Singapore Mastery Approach – ‘Maths No Problem’. Children are enjoying Maths lessons more than ever. The Learning Challenge concept is built around the principle of greater learner involvement in their work resulting in a meaningful curriculum that promotes high standards. It is an approach to structuring and delivering the curriculum with a focus on the challenge and basic skills. It is underpinned by a secure pedagogical framework that weaves together the critical elements of curriculum, teaching, and learning, and assessment. View full school

Founded by the Sisters of Charity of New York, the College of Mount Saint Vincent is an academically excellent, authentically inclusive, independent liberal arts college. Committed to the Catholic tradition and ecumenism, the College combines a strong core curriculum with a full array of majors in the liberal arts and, within the tradition of liberal education, selected professional study fields. At Mount Saint Vincent, a student's education extends beyond knowledge, skills, and work preparation. We seek the development of the whole person. In the spirit of Vincent de Paul and Elizabeth Ann Seton, we foster an understanding of our common humanity, a commitment to human dignity, and a full appreciation of our obligations to each other. Mission Statement of the Office of Professional and Graduate Studies. The Office of Professional and Graduate Studies is the College's entrepreneurial arm. Its programs are consistent with the College's Mission, extensions of strengths in the Undergraduate College, and contribute positively to the College's net income. It offers academically excellent undergraduate, graduate, and not-for-credit programs to adult students seeking professional advancement credentials. Through the Office of Professional and Graduate Studies programs, the College calls professional and graduate students to extend education beyond knowledge, skills, and work preparation. In the spirit of Vincent de Paul and Elizabeth Ann Seton, the College fosters an understanding of our common humanity, a commitment to human dignity, and a full appreciation of our obligations to each other. Vibrant though it was, the French royal order of the Ancien Régime was awash in racism, chronic war, hierarchical privilege, and systemic injustice. Saints Vincent de Paul and Louise de Marillac evaded many of their day's doctrinal and political battles. This Vincentian message is the charism of the Sisters of Charity. It summarizes the moral foundation of democracy. It is the reason the Sisters of Charity founded the College of Mount Saint Vincent: to prepare themselves and others for lives of accomplishment, leadership, and service. Democracy releases people from oppression—oppression imposed by power, exacted by privilege, or afflicted by circumstance. An excellent education is democratic. It enables people to employ their gifts both for their well-being and in service to others. In 1817, one hundred and fifty years after Saints Vincent de Paul and Louise de Marillac inspired France; Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton sent a contingent of Sisters of Charity from Maryland to New York City to staff an orphanage on Mott Street. Knowing that children need not only care but also education in order to thrive, the Sisters began founding schools, beginning at Mott Street and eventually spreading across the diocese. This was the beginning of the parochial school system of New York. Soon, they had what may well be the first system of genuinely free schools in the world, using revenue from those who could afford to pay to open free schools for those with no financial means at all. Building on its strengths, the College of Mount Saint Vincent aspires to be recognized among the finest, most authentically inclusive, Catholic and ecumenical liberal arts colleges. Toward that end, the College has adopted this Ten-Year Strategic Plan, which will guide its annual priorities and focus on how the College allocates its resources. A College of Mount Saint Vincent education prepares students for careers, not just jobs. Through a strong core curriculum, a broad array of majors and minors, and robust pre-professional programs, students build analytical and critical thinking skills. Our students develop a lifelong commitment to ethical inquiry and clear, persuasive communication. Students are offered abundant opportunities to connect classroom theory with real-world experience. This depth and breadth give students the knowledge, experience, and wisdom needed to lead an accomplished, meaningful life. Exceptional faculty will support and challenge you while guiding your educational and professional development. Stimulating and relevant, our curriculum fuses the most sought-after elements of a proper liberal arts education to enhance your critical thinking, problem-solving, and communication skills. Our history, deeply rooted in the Catholic tradition, will strengthen your decision-making with moral and philosophical principles. The campus—located along the banks of the majestic Hudson River with views of the iconic George Washington Bridge, just minutes from midtown Manhattan—is idyllic and inclusive. Your classmates, like you, value service, mutual respect, community involvement, and the College of Mount Saint Vincent legacy, built on service to others and the whole person's development. For more than a century, the College has grown, revised curricula, become coeducational, added a constellation of majors, added undergraduate and graduate extension programs in what is now called the Office of Professional and Graduate Studies, and stayed abreast of and led innovations in higher education. The College's mission has been consistent throughout. It offers undergraduate programs of exceptional quality in the Catholic and ecumenical tradition. Its abiding commitment to liberal education is based on the conviction that the liberal arts offer adequate preparation for a life of accomplishment, responsibility, leadership, and service. Therefore, across all disciplines, students are required to develop a repertoire of analytical skills, critical thinking, and clear oral and written expression. Confident that a good life demands thoughtful judgment, the Mount calls every student to learn about religious, moral, and ethical thinking. It lives its motto: "Teach me goodness and discipline and knowledge."

True to our Catholic, Benedictine, and liberal arts heritage, Saint Vincent College also offers our students support outside of the classroom, including individualized attention for first-year students, innovative programming for all students, worship services, student leadership opportunities, community service projects, career planning, health, and wellness support and a commitment to a safe and comfortable campus environment. All students are assigned faculty advisors based on their majors, and undeclared students are assigned faculty advisors who are designated to assist students in their significant selections. Students should communicate with their faculty advisors regularly for registration and academic planning. In addition to the faculty advisors, students may also work with academic advisors from Academic Affairs for additional support. The office provides academic support through academic advisors who help students develop their time management and study skills. These advisors also help students identify the many additional resources available at the college. For the more than 1,850 students who form the Saint Vincent community, the $12.5 million Robert S. Carey Student Center serves as a place to catch up with friends, work out, pray and unwind. The center includes a fitness center, swimming pool, lounge, book center, coffee shop, gym, performing arts center, art gallery, and student chapel, as well as a nondenominational prayer room. Just about every day of the academic year, you will find good reasons to get out and about on campus. You can join one (or more!) of more than 50 student organizations, or take in one of the lectures, comedians, parties, concerts, and many events scheduled by the Activities Programming Board. If you like active life, Saint Vincent College offers 23 varsity sports and more than a dozen clubs and intramural sports. Or you can get to know the Laurel Highlands that surround the campus: Paddle a canoe, hike a mountain, or go cross-country skiing. You can do all this and more through the College's Highlanders Outdoor Explorers Program, which takes advantage of the many opportunities for adventure right in our backyard of the Laurel Highlands. Community service is an integral part of life here: About two-thirds of Saint Vincent students volunteer. You might help spruce up the campus, mentor inner-city kids, or comfort AIDS patients in Brazil. Whatever you do, chances are you will be getting more out of it than you give.

It lives its motto: "Teach me goodness and discipline and knowledge." View full university

As we approach our 150th year of providing Catholic education in Solano County, it is appropriate to reflect on our school's proud history and significant accomplishments; however, we must also look to our beloved school's future. To build on our rich legacy, St. Patrick – St. Vincent Catholic High School recognizes the need to adapt and improve how we serve our community continually. To learn more about the five years Strategic Plan for the future of St. Patrick - St. Vincent Catholic High School, please view the Strategic Plan brochure. St. Patrick-St. Vincent Catholic High School evolved over a century from the Catholic Free School, established in 1870 by St. Vincent Ferrer parish in Vallejo. The first graduates received diplomas in 1880. The school was renamed St. Vincent Ferrer, affectionately known as "Saints," and remained a co-educational high school until June 1968, serving students from the greater Solano County (Benicia, Fairfield, Napa, Vacaville, and Vallejo) and from West Contra Costa County. At the urging of Monsignor Thomas Kirby, the Diocese of Sacramento opened the second school in September of 1968, St. Patrick High School for boys, at the current location on Benicia Road made St. Vincent Ferrer, an all-girls school. St. Patrick has enrolled the freshmen, sophomore, and junior boys from St. Vincent Ferrer, but the senior boys in the class of 1969 elected to stay and graduate with their female classmates. During the succeeding years, the two high schools shared social events and sometimes faculty and instructional resources. Eventually, they organized several co-ed athletic teams together. In 1983, the changing demographics of Solano County, the rising cost of Catholic education, and an expanding student body necessitated some long-range planning, and the decision was made to merge St. Patrick and St. Vincent High Schools as a co-ed school once again. The groundbreaking for a new classroom facility took place on October 18, 1986, and the school reopened in the fall of 1987 as St. Patrick-St. Vincent Catholic High School. View full school
