  6. At Seven Kings Secondary School, we are relentless in our pursuit of excellence because we know what a difference it can make to the lives of our young people, their families, and community. The ideas contained in the school motto, "Friendship Excellence and Opportunity" guide everything we do. Friendship is the cornerstone of our core business as children learn best when they are happy, safe, and secure. We believe that Seven Kings can make a radical difference to the life chances of our students and that we can help nurture brave, respectful, curious, and kind citizens. We are proud of our inclusive approach, which is informed by the principle that a stimulating and personalized education is an entitlement for every child. The harmonious ethos and outstanding relationships underpin all that we do and provide the foundation for the school's legacy of success. Seven Kings High School works with a range of School and Higher Education Institutions in our work to develop and promote the best practices in training and pedagogy. Teaching Schools work together within an alliance – a group of schools and other partners that are supported by the leadership of a Teaching School. We want children at Seven Kings Primary School to inherit a lifelong zest for learning to build high self-esteem and a strong determination to succeed. We challenge our children to become independent, well-rounded individuals who take ownership of their learning, becoming deep thinkers, and able to apply their knowledge and skillset in a range of contexts within the school and real life. By steering their natural curiosity, we inspire children to be confident, bold, and resilient, needing a challenge. With this in mind, we are committed to developing an inquiry-based curriculum at Seven Kings. We are a comprehensive school near Ilford with our own Sixth Form. We are fairly traditional in our style and approach - the vast majority of our Sixth Form students follow A-Levels and then go on to some of the best universities to begin degree courses. However, we are very modern and forward-looking in our teaching, our facilities, our methods, our use of technology, and in our high expectations. Our aims are summed up simply: We want you to be the best. Primary School 2 Perth Road, Ilford, Essex, IG2 6AU T: 0208 518 5541 contact@sevenkings.schoolAt Selwyn Primary School we aim to provide an inclusive curriculum, which celebrates the social and cultural diversity of our school. Working together to ensure children know how to be and feel safe in school and community. Empowering confidence is key for all in making healthy choices whilst enjoying learning and achieving through personalized and enjoyable activities. We believe in mutual respect between, children, parents/carers, and staff. This is a fundamental value that underpins our vision to ensure all children are given the best experience a primary school can provide. Kings Rise Academy provides a personalized and holistic education, delivered through partnership, enabling and challenging everyone involved to recognize their achievements and build on their unique strengths. To work with parents, carers, and all our partners to achieve the best outcomes for each child and the young person so that: Everyone learns how to be safe and everyone feels safe in school and their community. Everyone learns how to be healthy and to make healthy choices. Everyone learns and achieves through personalized and enjoyable activities. Everyone has the opportunity to have their voices heard, to be respected and valued in all their communities. Everyone learns how to participate in making their life choices that lead to economic security. At Kings Rise Academy we value the diverse ethnic backgrounds of all pupils and families and undertake a variety of events and lessons to celebrate these. We have found this approach to be enriching for all parties as it teaches tolerance and respect for the differences in our community and the wider world. Underpinning all of this is a range of curriculum topics, which have strong links to the British Empire. Within school, pupils are actively encouraged to make choices, knowing that they are in a safe and supportive environment. As a school, we educate and provide boundaries for young pupils to make choices safely, through of provision of a safe environment and empowering education. Pupils are encouraged to know, understand and exercise their rights and personal freedoms and advise how to exercise these safely, for example through our E-Safety and PSHE lessons. Whether it be through choice of challenge, of how they record, or participation in our numerous extra-curricular clubs and opportunities, pupils are given the freedom to make choices. Part of our school ethos and Behaviour Policy has revolved around Core Values such as ‘Respect’, and pupils have been part of discussions and assemblies related to what this means and how it is shown. Posters around the school promote respect for others and this is reiterated through our classroom and learning rules, as well as our Behaviour Policy. This is achieved through enhancing pupil's understanding of their place in a culturally diverse society and by giving them opportunities to experience such diversity. RE syllabus, topics, assemblies, and discussions involving prejudices and prejudice-based bullying have been followed and supported by learning in RE and PSHE. Members of different faiths or religions are encouraged to share their knowledge to enhance learning within classes and the school. School visits and visitors explore a cross-section of beliefs. It has undergone a major refurbishment and installation of extensive ICT facilities. The main teaching block contains English, Mathematics, Modern Languages, Social Studies and Religious Education, Computing, Art and Design, Business Education, and Pupil Support. A second block houses Home Economics, Sciences, Technical Education and Music. The third block contains Physical Education, Assembly and Dining Halls, and the administration and management accommodation. Playing field provision is limited and extensive use is made of recreational facilities out with the school. The school is committed to a balanced curriculum, and a wide range of courses lead to National Qualifications at all levels The school also promotes the personal and social development of pupils through a PSE program including careers education and work experience. Additional Support for Learning is provided for pupils who require it, and we aim to ‘stretch’ all pupils of all abilities. The school benefits from an enthusiastic and talented string orchestra, ceilidh band, jazz band, string, and woodwind ensembles, and choirs. Other extracurricular activities include Rugby, football, netball, volleyball, badminton, eco committee, writing groups, reading groups, aerobics, chess, geology, drama, theatre, and residential trips within Scotland and to Europe. We are always looking for opportunities that extend pupils’ horizons, make learning enjoyable, and raise attainment and achievement. View full school

  10. At KINGS we provide aspirational opportunities for every one of our girls to achieve the highest possible academic standards and to develop the life skills and confidence to succeed as young women in the modern world. We offer an all-round education which enables each girl to find her strengths and direction in life, whatever her talents, expectation or needs. We take pride in our one-hundred-year roots, in our present, and our future, ensuring that girls are always a part of our community and play a part as citizens within their community. We provide a caring, relaxed yet purposeful environment in which girls can thrive. We value the richness that the arts, sciences, humanities, and enterprise subjects bring to a balanced education and our experience as a specialist college has given us particular strengths in languages and sport. We strive at all times to ensure the highest quality academic and enrichment experiences and opportunities. At Kings Norton Girls’ School, each student’s current skills and levels of attainment are assessed on entry through reading, comprehension, and spelling tests, Midyis, and PASS data. We use this information, with any other information from previous schools, to decide whether students require Special Educational Needs or Disability (SEND) support. Through regular assessment, we can identify students who are making less than expected progress for their age and individual circumstances. Kings Norton Girls’ School offers an exciting and innovative curriculum from Year 7 to 13. The curriculum is designed to meet the needs of all students, developing their knowledge and understanding in a range of subjects and honing their skills so that they become successful independent learners during their time at school and beyond. At Kings Norton Girls’ School curriculum departments are arranged into seven faculties: English, Maths, Science, Arts, Humanities, Modern Foreign Languages, and PE. English, Maths, PE, and Modern Foreign Languages are single discipline faculties, the Arts, Humanities, and Science are multidisciplinary. Life at school for a Kings Norton Girl is diverse, exciting, and full of opportunity. Learning is central to all that we do but there’s so much more than just lessons. During a girl’s life at the school, between years 7 to 13, all girls will have opportunities to participate in educational visits both in the UK and abroad, join one of over forty extra-curricular clubs, gain leadership experience, take part in our exciting cross-curricular or health days and play an active role in supporting the success of their house. Everyone can improve intelligence and the ability to learn. Intelligence and learning are not fixed but being open to challenges, resilient in the face of setbacks, and putting in the individual effort will help us to develop. We will help your daughter to adopt this growth mindset and show parents how they can also help to do this. View full school

It starts with how we attract, counsel, and support our prospective students it’s also defined by how we educate, mentor, and support them during their time with us and it continues through the personal relationships we often maintain with our students long after they have left us to continue their success elsewhere. We measure success in this by how much our students: Acquire new knowledge and skills which allow and encourage them to move forward in their educational or professional careers Move forward in these careers with greater confidence, ambition, and self-awareness Understand more about the personal choices and possibilities available to them Understand more about the wider issues facing the world and their responsibilities in this regard Take pleasure in being part of an international community where opportunities for friendship and fun are integral to the learning experience Leave with fond and long-lasting memories and a sense of personal growth View full school

We strongly believe in building a strong working partnership with all members of our school community. The school provides a sound academic education in a Christian atmosphere that enriches lives, builds character and self-discipline. Wisdom is the highest of the three dimensions of life and helps students to walk with God, to live as He did when He was in human form. That is the purpose of education – to teach children not only about life but how to live. Jesus is to be in the center of all learning. Kings Kids Christian School is an independent (fee-paying) primary school in the Lewisham Local Education Authority. The school is a mixed-gender school and uses a biblically-based curriculum. 13. Kings Heath Primary School, a Fully Accessible Mainstream School (i.e. a school with staff and expertise that allows children with specific additional needs to be educated in a mainstream environment) in the south of Birmingham. However, it is the energy, enthusiasm, and creativity of our children and staff that makes our school special, so we hope that you will be able to attend our open days or make an appointment to see around the school, to meet our children and to get a feel for our community. We work hard at creating a caring and secure environment that children can flourish in, with a curriculum that provides challenge, stimulation, and high expectations for all. Children here learn from skilled and caring staff, make friends with children from a very wide range of backgrounds and develop open and positive attitudes as a result. We are pleased that Ofsted always recognizes our ethos as such a major strength and have identified that at the heart of our school there are ‘very warm relationships in all classes’ which ‘encourage and develop pupils’ confidence and enjoyment of learning.’ Our last Ofsted inspection in September of 2016 noted that ‘The culture of the school is inclusive, and diversity is celebrated. That inspection also confirmed teaching, learning, and progress continue to be good and that our school improvement strategies are having the effect we are aiming for. We look forward to working in partnership with parents, pupils, and the wider community to build on our strengths and improve our school even further. Kings Heath Primary School is a diverse and inclusive community of learners. We aspire for our children to be: Successful learners who enjoy learning, make progress, and achieve. Confident individuals who can live a safe, healthy, and fulfilling life. Responsible citizens who make a positive contribution to society. We believe in education and learning that is stimulating, liberating, and enriching and that helps develop minds that are alive to the diversity of human thought and achievement and the richness of the natural world. Kings Heath Primary School is working towards the ‘Rights Respecting School Award’, seeking to apply the principles of the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child in all of our policies and practice. In April 2016 we were awarded ‘Recognition of Commitment’ – the first stage of the award. We believe learning is best when it is: Structured: Long-term plans ensure the progressive build-up of knowledge, skills, and understanding. Individual lessons have clear learning objectives and success criteria. Active: Learners ‘construct’ meaning, they do not passively receive it: we structure lessons into appropriate ‘chunks’ of time to allow a balance of instruction from adults and exploration/application from the children. Reflective: We use open questions to encourage debate and self or peer assessment at the end of lessons. Progressive: We practice our skills and learn from our mistakes. We challenge children to move on. Co-operative: Shared learning, through group and paired activities, are regular features of our lessons. Stimulating: We use a range of teaching and learning styles including auditory, kinaesthetic and visual. Motivating: We reward and praise effort, achievement, and creativity. Children on the special needs register and children with statements of SEND/education health care plans may have individual learning plans specifically tailored to their needs or specific aspects of learning to develop. These are addressed as far as possible as part of the normal classroom teaching but sometimes require specific input involving withdrawal from the main classroom environment for short periods. All children are given full access to the National Curriculum unless their statement/education health care plan of SEND indicates disapplication. Staff will actively support all children to reach their potential regardless of academic ability, race, gender, or age. View full school
  14. Kings Avenue School is in the London Borough of Lambeth, between Brixton and Clapham. We are a friendly, multicultural community school taking children from ages 3 – 11 years. We care for every child and develop their self-confidence within a safe, diverse, happy, and stimulating learning environment. We are a school that prides itself on being warm, friendly, and inclusive. We have a clear vision for our school which unites staff, governors, families, and children. We strive to be an inclusive school and offer a broad, balanced and differentiated curriculum, which is challenging and stimulating and meets the needs of all our pupils regardless of ability, gender, or ethnicity. We believe in the importance of supporting and challenging children to achieve academically, whilst also caring about their development as kind, polite and respectful members of our community. At Kings Avenue, we welcome parents, carers, and children as partners in the education process. A successful partnership involves close co-operation, support, and trust as well as recognizing that the best education can only be provided when we have a shared vision and responsibility. Our overall aim is that our pupils leave us as confident, enthusiastic learners prepared for their next stage in education. We will make Kings Avenue the first choice school for all the families in our community. Kings Avenue looks forward to the future with confidence and will enthusiastically prepare children to make good choices as they face the challenges of a rapidly changing world. Our school community will embrace change and be passionate about lifelong learning for all. At Kings Avenue School, we have embraced these changes whole-heartedly. The new curriculum offers schools more freedom and creativity in how they deliver the content of the programs of study we have used this opportunity to devise a brand-new and innovative scheme of work which is tailor-made to the interests and needs of our pupils. Our starting point for this process was our pupils. We consulted with them about what they enjoyed about their learning and what changes they would like to see made. Consulting with our pupils inspired us to make our curriculum bespoke to our school, to reflect what is unique and special about our community and children. From this came our rationale, which is based on the principle of five Curriculum Drivers these key messages and themes will be promoted throughout our curriculum. The result is something we are very proud of. We are certain that the curriculum we have devised will offer breadth and balance of coverage to our pupils, whilst also being completely bespoke to the needs of our school. As it is implemented, we will evaluate its impact rigorously, and we will continue to seek out opportunities to enhance and embellish it. This is a time of great change in schools, but change brings opportunity. At Kings Avenue, it is an exciting time for staff, pupils, and parents alike, as we bring our plans to life in every classroom around the school. View full school
  15. We want to ensure future generations of Godly people rooted and established in their faith and with an unselfish, confident, and serving outlook on the world. We want to train the students to live out their faith with the strength of character and wisdom. The vision of that school, to have leaders for the next generation, was set alight in Dr. and Mrs. Lewis during the time that their children attended that school, and Mrs. Lewis worked there. Dr. and Mrs. Lewis came to Manchester with happy experiences of ACE (Accelerated Christian Education) and a belief that it would make an excellent starting place for the school. Initially, they planned to replace this with a British curriculum. For some time the Lower School and Junior School used a part ACE and part National curriculum, while the Senior School used a British curriculum alone and progressed to GCSE. We were delighted with our results. At GCSE students performed extremely well and were placed at several leading independent schools for 6th form. We were increasingly unhappy with the National Curriculum itself – not just the material, but the philosophy it was unwittingly imparting to the students, especially at GCSE. At this point, the NCSC (now ICCE) was set up by Christian Education Europe. (CEE, our curriculum provider. Visit them at www.christian-education.org). We began tentatively, taking one student right the way through to 18. This student far surpassed the success of our previous students, which resulted in recognition from the university (communicated verbally and recognized by scholarships and the highest placing in the year). This was achieved while strengthening her Christian commitment. Accelerated Christian Education’s program is individualized and non-graded. It is designed to allow students to work at their level of achievement, which may vary from subject to subject. The core curriculum is an individualized, Biblically-based, character-building curriculum package. It is this curriculum that the reading programs (‘Preschool with Ace and Christi’, and ‘ABCs with Ace and Christi’) prepare students to enter. It is integrated with these “early years” programs to provide a quick start for beginning students. However, it will do much more than that. Accelerated Christian Education’s curriculum enables students to progress through high school, successfully preparing them for further and higher education and performance in the world of work. The term “core” is used to distinguish the foundational courses from the enhancement courses in Accelerated Christian Education’s expanded curriculum. The core curriculum provides students with academics, skill-building, reading practice, character and wisdom training, and knowledge of God and His Word. The Infant Learning Centre is the place for new readers. The students progress from the ABCs, once they have passed the Post Test, to the Infants. Here they grow in confidence with their reading and continue to build skills and develop wisdom. They have new reading and comprehension skills to learn in Science and Social Studies PACEs. The Infants are developing in responsibility, learning to set their own goals and score their work with the assistance of the staff. They are also learning to take care of their property, to dress, and to clear up after themselves. They learn about their responsibility to other people and the world around them. They learn to have a good understanding of who they are, where they come from, and to develop self-control and self-esteem. The Juniors are laying down foundations of knowledge, skills, and self-discipline for the future. They have a balance of individual and group work. One of their most crucial developments is learning to work independently and to play interdependently. They work on their PACEs with an increased amount of responsibility and independence. They are constantly developing their communication skills through interactions with the teacher, with their class, during break times, and in quizzes, Oral and Book Reports. The afternoon lessons provide a wide selection of practical lessons that enrich the PACE work. Music, Art and Design Technology, French, and Practical Science are just some of these. The Juniors work in a variety of different settings with a range of group activities, also having their own space to concentrate at their desks. The Seniors follow a higher, more complex level of the structured ACE program. Throughout the morning the students work on the theoretical side of their education and core curriculum and in the afternoon they concentrate on the practical and applying the theoretical. They present project work and participate in group work and discussions. They are honing the work-study skills that have been developed throughout the school. Students are always focused on setting their own goals and being responsible for their work and achievement. They are actively involved in their education from the Lower School and the fruit of that is seen in the Senior Learning Centre. View full school

About 15% of the pupils come from ethnic minority backgrounds and where necessary receive support in English as a second language. Many pupils from outwith the catchment area come to the school as a result of placing requests. The school, which first opened in 1962, is designed around 3 buildings.
