      1. At the International School of Hamburg, we are in a continual process of reinvention and renewal. While we celebrated our 60th anniversary in 2017, we like to believe that we are young in spirit and that our best years still lie ahead. The Hanseatic City of Hamburg and ISH have forged a deeply-rooted partnership since our inception in 1957. As the third-largest port in Europe, our host city is a global melting pot and one of the most cosmopolitan cities in Germany. The overall quality of life and the outstanding natural environment that Hamburg offers make it a very desirable destination for expatriate families. It is small enough to navigate easily on foot, bicycle, or by public transport, and large enough to offer a sophisticated urban vibe and world-class shopping, dining, and culture. Our curricula—the International Primary Curriculum and the IB Middle Years and Diploma Programmes —serve our students well and enable them to become the kind of inquiring, ethical, and risk-taking adults the world will need in the 21st century. Our diversity of perspectives, values, ideas, and beliefs make ISH a special place to teach and learn. With a growing student population of almost 780, and a neighborhood campus bordering the city’s Botanical Garden, ISH is an integral part of the local landscape. On a typical day, visitors might observe volunteer parents welcoming new families. Drop by on a Friday evening and you will see high school students serving refreshments at a play or musical. On a Saturday morning, visitors will hear the sound of a piano lesson or cheering from the gym or soccer field as our Falcons teams compete. In November, visitors from the local neighborhood share the excitement of our annual International Day. Before the Christmas holiday, a group of 2nd-grade children can be found singing seasonal carols in the entrance area. Our calendar is filled with events, clubs, and activities aimed at connecting our community and with the wider world beyond our borders. Our mission is to provide students with an international education that seeks to develop their full potential and to foster understanding, respect for others, freedom of thought and expression, enjoyment of learning, and personal responsibility. At ISH, our programs, our policies, and our purpose are united in the shared values that put our students at the center of everything we do. As builders of an internationally-minded community, our faculty and staff strive to inspire and motivate every student while ensuring high academic challenge, the innovative use of technology, and a committed focus on the social, moral, and emotional well-being of every child in our care. We forge strong partnerships with parents to create a learning environment in which students respect and embrace an ever-growing, interconnected global society and recognize the value of service to others. Recognizing our responsibility to prepare our students for global citizenship, as well as to teach them all of the very basic human values, we base our programs and policies on fulfilling every student’s needs. 2. Our bilingual Phorms Campus Hamburg comprises a daycare center with preschool, a primary school, and a secondary school. We accompany our children through their educational development from early childhood to senior secondary school. From the beginning we educate children in both German and English each language has equal value and the children are taught using the immersion method by educators who are native speakers. Following its expansion in summer 2017, our daycare center now offers room for 80-85 crèche and elementary children, as well as 60 preschool-aged children. In mixed-age groups, the crèche children (1.5 – 3 years) and the elementary level children (3 – 5 years) are introduced to using two languages by taking a playful approach. In the preschool groups (5 – 6 years) children are prepared inhomogeneous age groups to begin primary school. From the beginning, children are part of the Phorms family and are cared for in a personal and familial environment. Learning two languages in an immersive, bilingual environment is a key component of our concept which is itself based on the Hamburg curriculum recommendations for daycare centers. Communication with parents also plays an important role: information is offered regularly and frequent development discussions along with parent evenings enable an active exchange between home and school. Our primary school with preschool in Hamburg can be found in the centrally located Hammerbrook. Here, 250 children between the ages of five and ten years old bring our bilingual school community in German and English to life. They learn, play, and discover the world together with our engaged and motivated educators. The shared campus with the nursery and secondary school reminds us each day not only of where we have come from but also where we want to go. A school bus service follows two routes, one near the Elbe and the other near the Alster. The independent, state-approved Phorms Hamburg bilingual secondary school was founded in 2011 and continues to grow by one year group every 12 months. The oldest year group is currently year 11. After nursery and primary school, the upper secondary school is the final stop on our Hamburg campus for those wishing to go on to take the ‘Abitur’ school-leaving examination. Our students then acquire a fully recognized general qualification for university entrance. The teaching program is based on the Hamburg curriculum for secondary schools with eight-year groups. We assist the personal development of our students with one-to-one support measures (through a low student-to-teacher ratio) and by giving them sufficient scope to develop their strengths. They are also taught to become more independent with daily phases of self-organized learning. View full school
      3. The TUHH is a compact technical university with a detailed research profile and innovative learning methods where theory and practice meet. Proximity is an essential aspect of our dealings with our students. They experience it firsthand during project-based learning in small groups and close contact with our outstanding academic staff. Our goal is to educate creative minds with an individual specialist profile and a high social skills level. Developing technology for humanity is the focus of our mission statement. We stand for the development of Hamburg as an innovative metropolis. The TUHH makes an essential contribution to this by introducing new technologies such as energy supply, mobility, logistics, and digitization. In this context, the TUHH will evolve and grow as a state-of-the-art university of technology in the future. The TUHH is identified with successful reforms, unconventional paths, and initiatives that are matched by hardly any other German university. In 1994, it was the first German University to introduce a Bachelor's degree, and its extensive English-language study programs attract students from all over the world. The TUHH secures additional private and public sector research funding equaling almost half of the University's non-third-party budget. Basic research at TUHH f.e. is highlighted by the Collaborative Research Center (SFB) "Tailor-Made Muli-Scale Materials Systems, M3" funded by the Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG). With its areas of expertise and its interdisciplinary structures, the TUHH works in a research-oriented manner, offering groundbreaking research and at the same time a modern, research-oriented, and practice-oriented education due to its outstanding staff and equipment. This combination opens up excellent opportunities for graduates in the labor market, regardless of fluctuations in the economic cycle. We have numerous cooperation agreements with major business enterprises and SMEs. We promote cutting-edge research and entrepreneurship. The will to assert ourselves as a top-ranking international university motivates us continually and is the driving force behind the TUHH's success. Incidentally, Hamburg - home to the TUHH - is located at the top of Germany's geographical map and one of the most dynamic regions in Europe with the best growth prospects. It is a vibrant metropolis with a high quality of life. The founding principles of the TUHH are unique in Germany. The priority of research, an interdisciplinary approach, innovation, regionalism, and internationalism are the obligatory foundations for what we do. Research, teaching, and technology transfer are centered around the guiding theme of developing technology for people. TUHH is a competitive entrepreneurial university focussing on high-level performance and high-quality standards. TUHH is dedicated to the principles of Humboldt (unity of research and education). TUHH has a strong international orientation and also focuses on its local environment. It does so by contributing to the development of the technological and scientific competence of society. Aiming at excellence at the national and international level in its strategic research fields. Educating young engineers and academics within demanding programs using advanced teaching methods. Success is the result of innovative and courageous action. The history of the TUHH is a history of this kind of success. A few, if any, German universities have so many reforms been initiated and unconventional approaches been adopted so consistently as at the Hamburg University of Technology. Best of all, these reforms were developed by the TUHH itself. To develop technology for people has been one of the TUHH's founding missions since 1978. Innovation within the technological sciences is its primary task. However, the innovation of the TUHH itself is a part of the motivation and a basis for the success of teaching, research, technology transfer, and continuing education. The Hamburg University of Technology regularly participates in external ratings and rankings, which are listed chronologically. In the texts, you will find links to the respective sources. Listed are also awards for members of the University. The Hamburg University of Technology (TUHH) was established in 1978 in the south of the city as an independent university specialized in the core disciplines of "classical" engineering. First-class teaching, application-oriented, and basic research at a high international level and intensive knowledge and technology transfer characterize its principal tasks and goals. The TUHH's founding principles – research priority, interdisciplinarity, innovation, regionality, and internationality – continue to be the binding basics for its future development. The TUHH has bundled its outstanding expertise and strengths in three areas of expertise at the Center for Research and Innovation. Defining these competence fields has succeeded in presenting its research activities and expertise clearly and succinctly to industrial and business enterprises and the general public. Basic research at TUHH f.e. is highlighted by the Collaborative Research Center (SFB) "Tailor-Made Muli-Scale Materials Systems, M3" funded by the Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG). Research is undertaken and sustained by the leading researchers at the TUHH's institutes and teamwork at the TUHH research centers and in coordinated programs. The TUHH sees itself as an innovation driver. It actively promotes the process of cooperation between enterprises and researchers. To set new directions, the University has appointed contacts for the competence fields to handle all issues arising in connection with research at the University and fast-track approaches to the TUHH and its research scientists. Active information and approaches to companies about research opportunities at the TUHH are an essential building block for further intensifying networking partners in innovation in the Hamburg metropolitan region.
      4. HCU Supports Young Talent! For the seventh time, the HafenCity University Hamburg, in cooperation with the Federal Ministry of Education and Research, the EUROPA-CENTER Uwe Heinrich Suhr Foundation and the Ingeborg Suhr Foundation, Ms. Heinke Sanders, PRISMA Ingenieure, WTM Engineers as well as IB&T Ingenieurbüro Basedow Tornow GmbH and other Donators, will be awarding the "Deutschlandstipendium," a scholarship in the Summer Semester 2018. The "Deutschland- stipendium", each in the amount of 300 euros per month, will be awarded to 44 talented students from all nationalities who show a high level of academic achievement in their studies. Social, professional, and family involvement, international mobility, migration background, and individual educational biography are relevant for the selection process. The scholarship is valid for two semesters. The HafenCity University Hamburg is the University Of The Built Environment And Metropolitan Development (HCU). The education and research at the HCU Hamburg aim to contemplate and concretize what the future of metropolitan areas could and should look like. Coping with this future will, however, require a systematic interdisciplinary as well as a transdisciplinary approach. For this reason, the HCU offers the entire range of disciplines required for understanding and designing the urban environment. The HafenCity University Hamburg was founded by the Free and Hanseatic City of Hamburg on January 1, 2006, as a university for architecture and spatial development through four departments from three Hamburg universities. We started a public debate on the pressing questions related to development, design, and the future of our built world. The opportunities offered by the foundation of such a specialized university can be benefited from. We want to get to the bottom of our specialist fields' education and research topics, develop our strengths within these specific fields, define innovative topics and methods for our future interdisciplinary orientation, and develop interdisciplinary and transdisciplinary education and research fields. Together we want to develop new approaches to the problems of our cities in the 21st century. The master programs offer students, ideally after they have gained their first professional experience, the opportunity to acquire more in-depth knowledge of their chosen field of study, which enables them to work independently in their discipline. The master's degree at the HCU Hamburg can also serve as preparation for a scientific career, as the students participate in research processes in their specialist disciplines and integrated research fields of the overall university. We aim to offer various master programs, which exceeds the limits of the previously existing disciplines and enable students to open up new professional fields in an individual and targeted manner in the area of built urban and regional environments. The HafenCity University Hamburg offers bachelor's and master's programs in all of its disciplines. The bachelor programs of HCU Hamburg correspond, in particular, to the current demands for professional education and provide the relevant foundation in the respective field of study. Simultaneously, the growing specialization of careers dealing with the designed environment and its economic, social, and ecological constraints requires graduates to understand and work with a broader range of topics, problems, and protagonists. Thus, students must have a firm foundation in their specific disciplines at the same time; they must, however, be able to deal with the different ways in which other branches of study view, understand, and interact with the world. Due to the wide range of its specific disciplines, HCU Hamburg opens up this unique understanding of the neighboring disciplines involved in the planning, design, and construction within the building and urban development processes. Innovation in the impressive range of disciplines results in innovation in each of our bachelor programs. The Master in Architectural Engineering is a consecutive, postgraduate course for graduates of the associated bachelor program in civil engineering at the HCU Hamburg. The course aims to provide students with scientifically substantiated knowledge and skills in a research-related manner so that the graduates are capable of recognizing the complexity of specialist problems and tasks, as part of a secondary degree with professional qualifications, and independently and autonomously solving said problems and tasks as well as bearing in mind and taking into consideration the subject-specific and social consequences and effects on the environment. Resource Efficiency in Architecture and Planning (REAP) was the first interdisciplinary research group formed at the HafenCity University by members of different subject areas (Architecture, Civil Engineering, Urban Planning, Landscape Planning, Building Physics, Building Materials Technology, Building Construction, Acoustics, Technical Urban Infrastructure Systems, Environmental Planning, and Planning Law). The REAP group specializes in addressing the current and future issues facing our towns and cities. The Master in Urban Planning qualifies students for all spatial planning levels, enabling them to work in a self-reliant manner. They are qualified to work independently and responsibly as urban planners on a scientific basis, taking into account the design, technical, economic, ecological, and design aspects.

Our HSBA community lives from the commitment of all, mutual respect, team spirit, and appreciation for the university and each individual. The HSBA is both an organization of learning and a learning organization itself. Our openness to feedback, regular evaluations, and further education of all faculty and administration members means that we are continually developing. We create a vital university climate where new things can be tried out, and progress is made. As a university of Hamburg's economy, we are regionally anchored and at the same time internationally oriented. Based on our Hanseatic roots, we open the door to the world for ourselves and the international economy and science through exchanges and excursions. Our active student community and our alumni form the basis for a valuable personal and professional network. The CHE University Ranking is the most comprehensive and detailed ranking system for German-speaking higher education institutions. It is geared primarily to new and existing students but has also become established at universities as a fair, informative, and qualified source of information. In addition to facts on the course of studies, teaching, facilities, and research, the ranking includes ratings by more than 250,000 students regarding the study conditions at their university and the reputation of the faculties under the professors for the individual subjects. All of the results are available free of charge on the internet. In the last CHE ranking for business and economics in 2014, HSBA ranked among the top 10 German "dual-system universities" and received particularly useful evaluations in the categories "focus on practice" and "focus on internationality."

      7. The great variety of universities offered by universities makes it difficult for a person to decide on the »right« university and the »right« course. But what should you bear in mind when choosing a future degree course? Primarily, the choice of degree should depend on personal talents, skills, and interests. Also, the course of study should be geared towards the practical demands of companies or business sectors. This is the only way a graduate can start a career both quickly and successfully and avoid shock when entering the job market. Studying at EBC University especially involves a high degree of practical orientation through internships and practical projects and internationalism through foreign language orientation, including the acquisition of cross-cultural competencies. Our students complete an internship at our officially recognized university either in Germany or abroad after the second semester and another internship abroad after the fourth semester. In these internships, the knowledge acquired is put into practice, and students can reflect upon the specialized subjects they will take later in their studies. Becoming familiar with practical working methods – also in international, foreign-language contexts – makes it easier for students to decide on a future career path. It is also essential for a constant dialogue between companies and academic institutions, and thus for practice-oriented programs, the business world wants to see. The international market orientation is reinforced by a semester abroad at one of the many institutions that cooperate with EBC University. In all specialized subjects, advanced academic training prepares future graduates to become responsible participants in the international network of a globalized economy. Our coaching concept will enhance and promote our students' personal potential during the studies and their entry into the job market. Soft Skills such as cross-cultural competencies and presentation techniques are also essential subjects at EBC University. We also want our students to develop an understanding of the complex issues of sustainability and ethics. Because such aspects are an integral part of all EBC programs, internships and projects will not prolong the period of study. EBC students usually graduate with a Bachelor of Arts after six semesters. This, as well as the option to complete foreign language certificates of the respective chambers of commerce, enhances a smooth job entry. Graduates may also wish to complete a Master's degree in Germany or abroad upon graduation. Whatever the plans – our graduates are equipped with intercultural competencies and business expertise to pursue their careers with great confidence. A challenging study program in a learning environment with a personal touch strengthens the sense of we with your fellow students, faculty, and staff: this primarily supports your personal development next to your professional and academic competencies. Additionally, you gain further insights into the working world with a domestic and an international internship, and last but not least, we guide you through a study period abroad. Equipped with these experiences and your intercultural competence, you are well-prepared for an international working environment in Germany, Europe, and the world. Our earliest beginnings over seven decades ago, the focus of all of our predeceasing institutions was explicitly beyond German-speaking countries' borders. This tradition manifested in EBC University's internationally oriented study programs, which always included mobility windows for studying and working abroad. When EBC University was granted the ERASMUS University Charta in 2008, we moved from only outgoing student mobility to our twelve partner institutions in France, United Kingdom, Ireland, USA, China, Australia, Spain, and Denmark, to a nowadays very lively student exchange within a network of now over 80 partners in 30 states, now also including two-degree programs. Further, we see a growing interest in staff mobility in- and outbound and not only within our ERASMUS partnerships. The nucleus of this fantastic development was EBC's International Office, which grew from one to five members between 2008 and 2015, and whose officers at our three campuses in Hamburg, Berlin, and Düsseldorf worked hard with high spirit and a love for international cooperation to fill the word "internationality" with life.
