- Our vision and values are at the core of everything we do. They underpin our teaching and learning and provide an environment that prepares our pupils as confident, happy citizens. As a faith school, we aim to instill Christian values within our school. Each half term we promote one of these values. This website aims to give you a taster of the school, as well as providing regularly updated information for both parents and pupils. We hope that you enjoy your visit to our website and that you find any information you are looking for. Archbishop Rowan Williams Church in Wales Primary School is a busy but friendly school, with lots going on. As a Voluntary Aided School, we are supported by both the Local Authority and the Church. We have excellent well-established links with Caldicot School, and our village nurseries Bluebelles and Cupcakes and Dinosaurs, along with many local nurseries. We feel very proud and privileged to have such a talented team of staff, dedicated to providing nurture, care, support, and excellent provision to the children and their families. “Values For Life” are at the heart of our excellent teaching and learning experiences. We offer an “open door” policy where we welcome families to engage with the school, recognizing that by working together we can help each child to build a happy, healthy, and successful future. Archbishop Rowan Williams Primary School was founded in 2001. Archbishop Rowan Williams is a Voluntary Aided School. This means that, although it is maintained by the Local Education Authority, the Church (through Monmouth Diocesan Council of Education) has considerable financial and administrative responsibilities. The School aims to provide an education that is Christian in both principle and practice and accordance with the teaching of the Anglican Church. While the teaching of religion is according to the tenets of the Church-In– Wales, as you would expect, there is no atmosphere of indoctrination in the school. Each morning there is an act of collective worship, which is shared at times throughout the week, with parents and local clergy. Christian values are built into the Ethos and teaching. It is difficult to explain the ‘ethos’ of a school, but easy to feel it. View full school

- Archbishop Tenison’s has a great history, one that goes right back to 1685. We are a small school and this means that we can offer the very best in pastoral and academic support. We try to ensure that a family atmosphere exists and that all students are known by staff. Our commitment is to provide all our young people with the best educational experience irrespective of starting points. Our focus is to enable them to understand that education is key in our changing world of work, and we teach that our core values of Compassion, Hard Work, Accountability, Respect, and Trust (CHART) are essential values for all successful relationships. Our vision is that “Together we aim for excellence, together we achieve and together we succeed”. We aim to be the school of choice for local families. We are committed to providing both the best pastoral care and the highest academic rigor for our students and seek to ensure that all of them leave the school with the best possible skills and qualifications. This is our fifth successive year with all our leavers now in education, employment, or training. Many of our recent students are now attending prestigious universities such as Warwick, Manchester, Birmingham, Glasgow, and Camberwell School of Art. We are committed to raising standards and enabling all students to make rapid progress. We are confident that, with some excellent new staff, we will see attainment and rates of progress rise. The combination of academic success and excellent pastoral care allows all students to thrive and enables them to become independent young people. We are determined to follow through with our vision of excellence, achievement, and success. We will be relentless in ensuring that there are no gaps in our attainment and that no student is left behind. The systems and structures in the school have been reviewed and how we do things has been changed. There is significant support for the school both from the Local Authority and the Southwark Diocese. Archbishop Tension will become part of the Southwark Diocesan Board of Education Multi-Academy Trust and will convert to an academy by September 2018. The School has continued to provide a high-quality education for boys ages 11–19, with girls being admitted in the sixth form. The School’s first home was in Trafalgar Square on the grounds of the National Gallery. The School moved to its present location opposite the Oval cricket ground in 1928. Paintings of Thomas Tenison, Archbishop of Canterbury currently hang in the National Portrait Gallery, and to this day the school still retains its historic links with both Canterbury and St. Martins-in-the-Fields. - Archbishop Tenison’s Church of England High School exists to provide a Church of England education primarily for children of Anglican and other Christian families living within the Archdeaconry of Croydon. Archbishop Tenison's C of E High School is well regarded locally for its high academic standards, the presence of a large Sixth Form, the very high level of pastoral care provided for the pupils, and its Christian ethos. Assemblies are an important part of school life there is an annual Eucharist for each year group all students take Religious Studies at GCSE, with a good number continuing to A-Level. Many of our pupils stay on into the Sixth Form and students also join from other schools in the Borough and beyond. The Sixth Form offers a range of AS and A2 courses, together with some BTEC courses, based at other centers. Most of the Upper Sixth proceed to Higher Education each year, gaining entry to top universities, including Oxford and Cambridge. Archbishop Tenison’s aims to provide an education that is broad, balanced, relevant, and accessible to the diverse and close-knit community it serves. The school is well regarded in the area for its music, drama and sport, especially netball, football, and cricket. Students are active in debating and public speaking. The rewarding aspect of working at Archbishop Tenison's is reflected by how staff achieves very impressive results in National Mathematical Challenges. There is a wide range of extra-curricular activities with around 40 different clubs and societies. Charity support also features strongly in the life of the Sixth Form and the school. We have a particular link with RUSH in Kenya and each year collect shoeboxes for children at Christmas through the Biggin Hill Romania Group. Each year there are language exchanges, educational journeys abroad, residential field courses, Duke of Edinburgh, and Christian Union residential weekends. The school has featured in several guides to good state schools and was described as "Good" in our 2013 OFSTED Report. The school has both a strong sense of traditional values and a readiness to embrace new ideas which are of real benefit to the pupils and students. Archbishop Tenison’s Church of England School has a distinctive Christian ethos which gives the school its purpose and provides an inclusive environment where children can learn and flourish in a setting shaped by Christian values. We welcome applications from all members of the community and we ask all parents to respect the Christian ethos of the school. This Christian educational vision also informs the annual School Development Plan, which reviews the school’s work from seven different aspects, each of which is then the focus for a four-year cycle of planning, mostly gradual changes to the school, so that it can continue to fulfill this aim. The Development Plan for each new school year is published in September, with a summary available from the School Office. Our educational aims: to uphold Christian belief through worship and daily life and to enable students to grow in living faith. to develop the habit and skills of academic inquiry, intellectual integrity, and a love of learning for its own sake. to broaden the student's cultural experience by active involvement in and appreciation of the expressive arts and by examining the role that culture, including science and technology, plays in creating civilized societies. to develop an awareness and understanding of their physical capabilities in students through curricular and extra-curricular activities whilst fostering positive attitudes to health and safety and sportsmanship. to promote an understanding of different religions and ethnic origins and cultures to reduce intolerance and prejudice to promote the integration into the community of people of all ethnic backgrounds and to foster and develop a strong sense of moral values which are given practical expression in all aspects of the lives of those who make up this school community. to create in students an awareness of their abilities enabling them to realize their potential and to play their full part, as Christians, in the wider community in this country and overseas to prepare them for the world of work and to develop within them interests which they will find enriching and fulfilling. to encourage pupils towards an understanding of their feelings and the feelings of others, thus developing a friendly, supportive and caring community, in which every student is equally valued. The school aims to be a center of excellence in all that it does. It is a partnership involving students, staff, and parents, based on mutual respect and a common purpose. Everybody at the school is committed to these aims and is expected to play a full part in their realization. View full school

- At Archbishop McGrath the education of our young people is an important building block of the society in which we live and an indication of the vision for that society to which we aspire. Our Catholic school is central to the Church’s mission. Unless a school has Christ at the very heart of all that it is and does, it cannot be a Catholic school. The ethos of our school is not something extrinsic to the various aspects of school life. Rather, the catholic ethos – and its concrete expression in liturgical prayer, assemblies, and teaching of religious education is fundamental to our school, giving true and lasting value. Throughout the life of the school, we seek to nurture and celebrate the success of every member of the school community. Both in the structure of the curriculum and the planning of learning activities, the school strives to respond to the learning needs of every person in the school. On September 1st, 1965, Archbishop McGrath Catholic High School opened its doors to the first cohort of students and staff. On that day, there were 12 members of staff and 206 pupils. On September 1st, 2015, the school celebrates its golden jubilee of 50 years of service to the Catholic Church and the people of Bridgend, now with over 800 pupils and 80 members of staff. We are very proud of all we have and we are looking forward to continuing to serve the County, and Catholic and Anglican Deaneries of Bridgend, for many decades to come. Discover what students experience during the first 3 years at Archbishop McGrath Catholic High School. Key Stage 4 covers years 10 and 11 where students prepare and undertake their GCSE examinations. Experience Archbishop McGrath Catholic High School's first-class sixth form. Sixth form students are in their last 2 years of Secondary Education. Most Sixth Form students take 3 or 4 A-levels to study in these final 2 years. View full school

We care for all individuals, celebrating achievement and providing support. The continuing success of our school is based on the positive partnership between parents and school. The active involvement of parents in the life of the school brings a unique warmth and vitality to our community and we recognize the crucial role which parents have to play in the education of their children. We believe that parents choose Archbishop Ilsley Catholic School because they share in our insistence on the highest standards of behavior and self-discipline, our expectation that all students will work hard, show respect and courtesy for others, and pride in their appearance. Our highly professional staff are dedicated to ensuring that every student fulfills their God-given potential, committed to the pursuit of excellence in teaching and learning throughout the curriculum. Students are provided with appropriate work which challenges and extends them, in an environment that enables them to focus on their studies effectively. The school’s enhanced facilities have helped us to develop dynamic and innovative activities and to offer a broad and balanced curriculum designed to meet the opportunities and challenges of the 21st century. Our thriving Sixth Form greatly enhances the character of the school. The high rate of students choosing to continue their studies with us is a testament to the very positive student-teacher relationships which are established here. All of our students enjoy a challenging and enriching curriculum to enable them to pursue further study and purposeful, fulfilling careers. Archbishop Ilsley Catholic School supports parents in nurturing the faith of their children. We enable our students to grow in the love of God, deepen their understanding of creation, and pray and celebrate the sacraments. We provide opportunities to explore values and beliefs, recognize the rights of others and respect those who have different beliefs. Catholic Schools share many features with other schools. We share the central mission of passing on the cultural and scientific heritage to the next generation, and of encouraging the personal growth of each pupil through good teaching, outstanding pastoral care, and the creation of an effective school community. We also draw distinctive features from our Christian heritage and how we combine our educational and religious missions. At Archbishop Ilsley we encourage all our pupils to explore the world God has created, to understand it, and to use it responsibly. We promote intellectual curiosity, creativity, and rational thought. We have a pastoral system that promotes emotional and spiritual growth which is underpinned by support and forgiveness. We inspire devotion in simple and regular practices, we follow and acknowledge the Church seasons and feasts we teach about justice and challenge inequality and we welcome people of all faiths and none. Above all we seek to develop the God-given gifts and talents of each pupil, lay the foundations for life-long learning, foster an attitude of altruism and generosity and be just and firm of purpose in our actions. Archbishop Ilsley is committed to developing the full potential of every individual. Unsafe practices are challenged and we are intolerant of anything that threatens the physical, emotional, spiritual, or intellectual well-being of our pupils. Our mission is based on Gospel Values as presented in the Beatitudes. Archbishop Ilsley fully promotes fundamental British values of democracy, the rule of law, individual liberty, and mutual respect and tolerance of those with different faiths and beliefs. It is not necessary for schools or individuals to ‘promote’ teachings, beliefs, or opinions that conflict with their own but nor is it acceptable for schools to promote discrimination against people or groups based on their belief, opinion, or background. Students develop a range of learning styles as a variety of teaching methods are implemented by the staff, carefully planning to cater to all needs. The school is well equipped with the latest ICT facilities. Our curriculum produces learners with strong literacy, numeracy, and ICT skills. Students are creative, resourceful, and able to solve problems they have enquiring minds and think for themselves, enjoy learning, and are well motivated. - Here at the college, we strive to make certain that our young people have the very best of academic teaching and also have the best opportunities to be part of many of what the college offers as an extended curriculum. We have been so impressed with the amount of time, effort, and commitment that so many of our young people have shown recently with their commitment to the arts, sport, and public speaking. They are truly an amazing group of people and the college community salutes all their endeavors. Our curriculum is designed to ensure everyone reaches full potential and we take as our inspiration the teachings of Jesus. The curriculum at Archbishop Beck has changed greatly over the past few years to prepare our pupils for the demands of the Modern World and to ensure that all pupils can achieve their potential. Our main philosophy is that students can access a curriculum that allows them to achieve through a largely 'personalized curriculum'. Literacy and numeracy skills have a high profile throughout the key stages. Through our curriculum, we aim to create successful learners, confident individuals, and responsible citizens. Year 7 students are placed in subject sets according to the assessment data received from the primary schools. We continually review the performance of all students through an annual program of assessments to ensure that all students are in a position to achieve their targets. Students follow the National Curriculum with an emphasis on literacy. This means that students in year 7 study six lessons of English each week. We believe that by developing excellent literacy skills, our students will be able to access all aspects of the curriculum. We recognize that to achieve academic excellence, students must be able to read, interpret and present information in a variety of ways to a very high standard. In year 8 students continue to follow the National curriculum subjects. Some students are allowed to study an additional language to further develop their linguistic skills. English and maths continue to be studied daily and in science, some students will begin to focus on the individual sciences, physics, chemistry, and biology. At the end of the year, 8 students undertake a formal option process. Students are placed in pathways that are influenced by their potential and prior attainment. The advice process involves students, parents, staff, and outside agencies. In Years 9, 10 & 11 students study a core curriculum and a set of option subjects that enable all students to reach their full potential. The curriculum aims to support our students to become independent, confident, and dynamic learners. Here at Archbishop Beck Catholic Sports College, we set our standards high. We aim to equip our students with the skills, qualifications, and work experience to ensure success at University and in future career choices. We are extremely proud of our academic achievements and are members of a very elite group with a 100% pass rate at both A-Level and BTEC National. Our students are highly motivated and very much enjoy their experience here in the Sixth Form. Our fully wireless, purpose-built Sixth Form Zone is well equipped with new classroom facilities, extensive ICT equipment, large independent study areas, and student leisure facilities to enhance their Sixth Form experience. We believe our curriculum creates confident individuals with a sense of self-worth, secure values, and beliefs, open to the excitement and inspiration offered by the world around them. At Archbishop Ilsley Catholic School we are committed to providing high-quality teaching for all pupils. We believe pupils with special educational needs and disabilities are entitled to a broad and balanced curriculum and Quality First Teaching.

- The Archbishop Mitty High School community is founded upon the belief that God creates every student "in the image and likeness of God" (Genesis 1:26). Based on this belief, the School encourages every student to personally carry on God's creative act by developing his or her talents and abilities to the fullest. At the same time, the School challenges each student to create a world in the image and likeness of God, a world founded on the Gospel values of gentleness, compassion, justice, mercy, and peace. Archbishop Mitty High School is the Catholic, coeducational, college preparatory school of the Diocese of San Jose. The School embraces the Catholic educational mission of developing community, teaching the message of the Gospels, and promoting service, peace, and justice. Through its rigorous academic program, the School prepares students for college and responsible leadership in a global society. At the same time, the School works diligently alongside parents to foster each student's personal, academic, and spiritual development. Recognizing that each individual is created in God's image and likeness, the School celebrates and affirms its diverse cultural community while developing students who are intellectually competent, just, faith-filled, respectful leaders. The whole person's education is critical to the development of young adults, and Archbishop Mitty embraces this through a rigorous and dynamic academic curriculum that seeks to gradually develop "students' intellectual, physical, psychological, moral, and religious capacities." Across the curriculum, students are challenged to think critically and analytically, seeking truth in the abundance of information and assumptions that dominate modern life. Contemporary society is "an information-driven society which bombards [students] indiscriminately with data—all treated as being of equal importance—and which leads to remarkable superficiality in the area of moral discernment. In response, we need to provide an education which teaches critical thinking and encourages the development of mature moral values" (Pope Francis). A conscious effort is given to guide students to become young adults who understand the moral complexity of the world and understand how this recognition of truth can lead to positive action beyond Archbishop Mitty. Recognizing that the world is continually changing, Archbishop Mitty educators strive to be "guided by a changing generation and know that, therefore, every educator…is required to change, in the sense of knowing how to communicate with the young." As an institution that encourages a culture of innovation, the School's curriculum is continually evolving, designed to reflect students' skills and knowledge to achieve success and supported by current technologies that are viewed as tools to enhance student learning. A concentrated effort is put on developing a macro and micro worldview, preparing for a global world includes a focus on the application of Catholic values to action by encouraging students to not wait for others to take the lead, but to be leaders themselves. The co-curricular program at Archbishop Mitty provides a wealth of opportunities for students to develop themselves further, emphasizing empowering and challenging them to succeed in whatever arena they choose. The success of each Archbishop Mitty student is dependent upon the partnership between the School and the parents. Recognizing that parents are the students' primary educators, Archbishop Mitty seeks to "work as a team for the school's common good." This team concept assists the students in their intellectual, emotional, social, and spiritual development. A critical component of this being exceptional care for student wellness the School's faculty, staff, and administration. To best support student success, the School has created a sense of community at Archbishop Mitty that is palpable. Students are encouraged to try new things, and disappointments are handled with dignity and respect. Students at Archbishop Mitty can be themselves, and the spirit of acceptance permeates beyond the physical building. The environment is Catholic, one that is illuminated by "the light of faith…and the Christian way of thought and life…permeates all facets of the educational climate" (Religious Dimension). As a Catholic institution, we seek to embrace "the synthesis between culture and faith" and "to interweave reason and faith" to develop "a Christian view of the world, of life, culture, and history" (Miller). Recognizing that there is no separation between learning and formation, we seek to teach academic subjects and empathy and compassion for others by understanding Gospel values. Because Archbishop Mitty's community includes individuals of other faith traditions, students come to understand faith in a world context, which allows students to draw parallels and understand that faith is an aspect of the education of the whole person. Archbishop Mitty seeks to educate young adults to become intellectually curious, just, faith-filled, and respectful leaders. This is achieved through the recognition that each person is made in the image and likeness of God, and through a comprehensive educational program that seeks to educate the whole person in a welcoming environment that embraces the synthesis of faith and reason, the formation of Catholic values, and the preparation of students for a global society.
