      1. Our vision and values are at the core of everything we do. They underpin our teaching and learning and provide an environment that prepares our pupils as confident, happy citizens. As a faith school, we aim to instill Christian values within our school. Each half term we promote one of these values. This website aims to give you a taster of the school, as well as providing regularly updated information for both parents and pupils. We hope that you enjoy your visit to our website and that you find any information you are looking for. Archbishop Rowan Williams Church in Wales Primary School is a busy but friendly school, with lots going on. As a Voluntary Aided School, we are supported by both the Local Authority and the Church. We have excellent well-established links with Caldicot School, and our village nurseries Bluebelles and Cupcakes and Dinosaurs, along with many local nurseries. We feel very proud and privileged to have such a talented team of staff, dedicated to providing nurture, care, support, and excellent provision to the children and their families. “Values For Life” are at the heart of our excellent teaching and learning experiences. We offer an “open door” policy where we welcome families to engage with the school, recognizing that by working together we can help each child to build a happy, healthy, and successful future. Archbishop Rowan Williams Primary School was founded in 2001. Archbishop Rowan Williams is a Voluntary Aided School. This means that, although it is maintained by the Local Education Authority, the Church (through Monmouth Diocesan Council of Education) has considerable financial and administrative responsibilities. The School aims to provide an education that is Christian in both principle and practice and accordance with the teaching of the Anglican Church. While the teaching of religion is according to the tenets of the Church-In– Wales, as you would expect, there is no atmosphere of indoctrination in the school. Each morning there is an act of collective worship, which is shared at times throughout the week, with parents and local clergy. Christian values are built into the Ethos and teaching. It is difficult to explain the ‘ethos’ of a school, but easy to feel it. View full school
      2. Roger Williams University is inextricably connected to Roger Williams, the 17th-century leader devoted to freedom of conscience and social justice who founded a community in Rhode Island-based on those tenets. Roger Williams' philosophy, and what has been called his 'lively experiment,' nurtured vibrant and open societies' growth. Our pursuit of excellence in education, academic accomplishment, and community service is rooted in his focus on intellectual exchange, critical thinking, inclusiveness, and innovation as a means of improving a free society. It is this legacy that inspires our core purpose. RWU is dedicated to engaged, hands-on learning, and teaching that helps strengthen society. Every student is provided the opportunity to participate in a real-world learning experience that helps a community partner locally or globally. School of Law students offers pro bono legal services, with many completing more than 100 hours of service before graduation. Every RWU student makes an impact on our society – from working in the Rhode Island community to participating in a study-abroad program overseas. To build the university the world needs now, we draw inspiration from our namesake and reflect upon our unique history to chart a visionary course for the future of Roger Williams University. Just as Roger Williams himself fearlessly advocated for freedom of conscience, equality, and tolerance to help improve his community, RWU prides itself on being an innovative, forward-thinking institution devoted to strengthening society through engaged teaching and learning. Here at Roger Williams, we continually invest in innovative programs to provide educational experiences that prepare students to be lifelong learners, professionals, and global citizens. Whether out in the local community, working on interdisciplinary projects or a pro bono law case, completing a customized internship locally or abroad, or conducting meaningful research with a professor, at RWU, students solve problems creatively. They learn to communicate effectively and think critically. Academics are the heart of Roger Williams University. With more than 45 undergraduate study programs, over a dozen graduate programs, RI's only Law School, and a full suite of Continuing Studies programs, RWU offers a wide variety of studies all with a commitment to Affordable Excellence. Explore the many ways RWU is committed to the community. At RWU, we welcome and value all expressions of diversity and identity. An integral part of our core values, we actively promote inclusion by offering institutional programs and supporting student clubs and organizations dedicated to diversity in all aspects of university life, hiring faculty and staff, and recruiting students who mirror our region's diversity. Study abroad is an opportunity to continue your Roger Williams University education while living in another country. Study abroad is not merely a travel experience but an academic experience (first and foremost) in an international setting. Our world has become increasingly inter-related, and learning about globalization and intercultural perspectives is necessary for success in our communities and our workplace. Study abroad is relevant and meaningful for students in any academic discipline. Yes, that is correct! Study abroad is appropriate, no matter what your academic major is. Students who participate in a meaningful international experience develop skills, attitudes, and characteristics that can significantly enhance academic goals, career paths, and personal lives. Study abroad is commonly referred to as a great, life-changing experience, above and beyond the participant's initial expectations. An experience that will challenge you, change you, and motivate you to study abroad is well worth the time, money, and effort students put into it. View full university
