About Me

  1. St. Andrew's Grammar School provides a safe and supportive teaching and learning environment for all students. We prepare our students to be lifelong learners by focusing on academic rigor, a spirit of inquiry, and participation in a broad range of academic and co-curricular activities. Our learning strategies for students encourage the achievement of appropriate and challenging learning goals. Their active participation in the learning process fosters self-discipline and prepares them for a changing world's challenges. We focus on a holistic approach to the education of each child academically, socially, and spiritually. One feature of St. Andrew's Grammar education is the strong sense of community that our school provides through the Hellenic Community of WA, the Greek Consulate, and the Greek Orthodox Church. Our high-quality staff is committed to the welfare of every individual child. Our school provides students with an opportunity to develop self-esteem, confidence, and lasting friendships in a safe and supportive environment. St. Andrew's Grammar provides a unique Orthodox Christian and Hellenic co-educational experience focusing on academic excellence, Greek language, and culture within a safe and caring learning environment. Planning and teaching for all learning areas follow the Western Australian Curriculum Scope and Sequence content. Modern Greek is taught using the Australia Curriculum document. An extensive assessment program drives planning, teaching, and learning and incorporates Summative and Formative assessment. Compulsory testing includes the collection of Baseline Data at the beginning of each year, NAPLAN testing in Term 2 for Years 3 and 5, Even Years NAPLAN testing in Term 3, and Common Assessment Tasks year. The reporting process includes Parent-Student-Teacher interviews with goal setting at the end of Term 1, a Semester Report at the end of Term 2, a Learning Journey at the end of Term 3, and a Final Report at the end of Term 4.
  2. Welcome to St Andrew's School, Walkerville, a leading South Australian independent, co-educational specialist primary school providing excellence in education from playgroup to early years and Year 7. We have a well-designed campus with a nurturing environment, encouraging happy and successful learning. We focus on numeracy and literacy's critical skills within an inquiry curriculum that encourages involvement and leads to understanding through creativity. Our goal is to establish a framework that will equip each student with the skills to enjoy a lifetime of discovery and learning. Our balance of learning, with sport and specialty music programs, are internationally focused. We listen to our parents and encourage them to take an active part in our school'sschool's life. Our Mission is St Andrew's offers early years and primary education for families seeking an exceptional independent, co-educational school with Anglican values. Our Vision is St Andrew's is Australia's leading specialist primary school, inspiring children to be collaborators and innovators, making meaningful contributions to their diverse communities. St Andrew's School was opened on Monday 23rd September 1850, on the Rector's birthday, and has continuously provided quality education to Walkerville and the wider community. The first Head Master was Mr. William Owen. The Schoolroom was 20 feet by 40 feet, built of stone with a thatched roof and a bellcote. The Architect was Mr. William Weir and the builders Messrs Jones & Bowley. This original Schoolroom still stands, incorporated within the new Gymnasium and Performing Arts Centre built-in 2010. The school has been part of the community from the very beginning, but today occupies a much larger area on both the eastern and western sides of Smith Street, with an Overpass over Smith Street for the students' safety crossing between them. Today the St Andrew's School attracts students from across Adelaide and globally as it is a UNESCO School teaching the International Baccalaureate curriculum.
  3. Our Mission statement clearly articulates our unique focus. Based on our Christian Foundation, we leverage the College's positive energy and supportive community to enable our students to walk confidently into their futures. To achieve this, the College has been fortunate to attract a high caliber of staff who seek each day to provide unique, engaging, and broad educational opportunities for the children in their care. Being the Principal of St Andrew's Anglican College is a unique and rewarding job: because of our College Community! It is a delight to welcome our students each morning, interact with staff as we share ideas about our College's future, and collaborate with parents to ensure a consistent approach to all we undertake. As Principal, I have the exciting challenge to ensure we stay focussed on our Value statements, the how part of what we do: At St Andrew's, the best aspects of a traditional Anglican School education are combined with a vision for what students need today and for their exciting futures. All these considerations produce a learning environment that is distinctively St Andrew's, but with the standards of care, Christian values, academic rigor, focus on independent learning, and positive environment exemplified by other leading independent schools across Australia. At St Andrew's, the best aspects of a traditional Anglican School education are combined with a vision for what students need today and for their exciting futures. All these considerations produce a learning environment that is distinctively St Andrew's, but with the standards of care, Christian values, academic rigor, focus on independent learning, and positive environment exemplified by other leading independent schools across Australia. We talk a lot about 'the St Andrew's Way. Our education approach is based on high expectations of our staff and students, balanced with a firm commitment to the importance of the relationships between staff, students, and parents. As Principal, it is my role to model this! I work with a committed staff that engenders a love for learning and a love for belonging, of being part of a community. The flow-on effect of this is a student body that openly emanates a willingness to engage in a wide range of opportunities. Our wish for our departing Collegians is to have a passion for learning and value the virtues of wisdom and integrity. They will be individuals who endeavor to transform the communities in which they live and work positively. In the great and the small things they do, they will enliven and enrich our world. Our strategic intent is to leverage our positive energy and supportive community to enable our students to move confidently into their futures. To have a vision is to 'see with one's mind' - to envisage an excellent and balanced place ahead. St Andrew's will be a place where its students are inspired and where dreams and visions are honored. It also refers to the apostle Andrew's vision in taking up the call to become a disciple of Jesus - a person of vision. As a Christian school, St Andrew's will reflect a definite Christian ethos and encourage students to seek a Christ-like character. It reflects the vision that parents have had in choosing this College for their children. Therefore, St Andrew's will value the vision of parents, encouraging them to share their hopes with the vision of our school. Spirit is the expression of energy, liveliness, and positive enthusiasm within an individual, group, or whole school community. St Andrew's will seek to develop the natural creativity and spirit of inquiry inherent in all children. Spirit differentiates one school from another. Staff, students, and parents will be encouraged to form spirited approaches to new ideas and community involvement. Spirit in a theological sense points to the Holy Spirit who 'moved upon the face of the waters' at the beginning of creation. St Andrew's will be where the Holy Spirit is present to inspire and motivate all who form the community of St Andrews.
  4. The continued strong growth in Gawura this year has been extremely encouraging. It is lovely to see the children's day to day effort and enthusiasm for all aspects of school life. Each day begins like the last. Smiling faces, a chat with our bus driver, a race around our rooftop playground, and into class to make the most of every opportunity. This love of school is infectious, and it is promoting tremendous success both individually and collectively. Gawura was established in 2007 by St Andrew's Cathedral School in response to systemic underachievement and the apparent disparity in educational outcomes of Indigenous and non-Indigenous Australians. The Head of School at the time, Phillip Heath, along with Pastor Ray Minniecon and Sharon Minniecon, and the original task force saw the need to close the gap, and in doing so, brought the Gawura vision to life. Gawura stands for our school's commitment to reversing the overwhelming educational disadvantage for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children across the country. As a day school in Sydney's CBD, St Andrew's Cathedral School demonstrates its commitment to this challenge by offering a unique, culturally enriched educational journey to Indigenous students who live in the CBD's neighboring suburbs. The program aims for our Gawura students to achieve educational outcomes equal to (or better than) their non-Indigenous peers. Our mission is to break the entrenched cycle of disadvantage experienced by Indigenous children by providing them with the best opportunity for educational success, a choice of direction for the future, and a foundation upon which they can build for the rest of their lives. Gawura's mission is to provide a quality Kindergarten to Year 6 education for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children in a caring, Christian environment. The emphasis is on high literacy, numeracy, and social skills that are foundations for life. All graduates of Gawura are offered scholarships to St Andrew's Cathedral School for secondary education. St Andrew's vision is to inspire students to be passionate, creative learners who engage with the message of Christ and fully develop their gifts and abilities in order to serve in the world. Gawura is a unique, co-educational Kindergarten to Year 6-day school for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children who live at home with their families. The Gawura families, parents and carers' engagement is critical to the success of the program. With up to 28 students, Gawura is a highly-acclaimed, highly-regarded 'lighthouse' model for Indigenous education, offering students a supportive, nurturing space where they feel secure and learn at their skill level in individual numeracy and literacy programs. They achieve academic milestones daily and grow in their abilities in academic subjects, sport, and the arts. The school program is funded primarily by individual and family donors, corporates, and foundations.
  5. We have a full and rich school life at St Andrew's Christian School, with many fantastic events happening within our school community. Every year our students participate in athletics, cross-country, and swimming carnivals, with students who qualify to progress to zone and then state levels. The most beautiful aspect of our carnivals is the sense of community that exists as Kindergarten through to Year 12 students spend the day together encouraging each other and having fun. Indonesian language and culture are being taught in our Primary and Secondary classes. One of our parents, Maria Waterson, is teaching the classes with our regular teachers. Maria was born in Indonesia and has proven to be an enthusiastic member of staff. The school is also supporting an orphanage in Indonesia, Mamo Sayang, with our School Chaplain, Mick Schilling, and Principal, Mac Lindsay, visiting the orphanage this year. We are hoping to send mission teams to work in the orphanage and school regularly. Our school has been selected to be part of the Federal Government's School Literacy Program. The Program includes intense training in Literacy Development for both the Principal and our Head of Primary. The school has been able to purpose the best testing and diagnostic tools. Serving Christ by providing education that pursues excellence in all of the life Objectives: To provide an education of high academic standards that adheres to the Bible as being intensely relevant to education and the whole of life. To present a Christian worldview of life and an understanding of the Christian faith modeled by staff's life and teaching. To encourage a sense of belonging to Christ's kingdom through participation in Christian fellowship. To provide a caring, supportive, secure, and encouraging environment in which students and staff can learn and work. To promote a culture of Christ-like service to others. To provide a wide range of subjects and activities in order to promote the uniqueness of each individual. To recognize that each individual is created in God's image and, therefore, worthy of understanding and respect. To seek wise stewards of our resources and act ethically and with integrity in all of our relationships. Thank you for considering St Andrew's Christian School for your child's education. Christian school education rests on a belief that the child's development requires that we deliberate about the beliefs and values that they are taught. Children's spiritual development is not an annex to their education; it is an integral part of it. Beliefs, values, and issues of faith, therefore, sit at the center of the curriculum and all subjects at St Andrew's Christian School. Spiritual development provides meaning, context, and purpose to the pursuit of excellence in our students' academic, cultural, physical, and social development. St Andrew's aim is for students to know what they believe and why their character is formed based on sound beliefs and values. Our Primary school is an integral part of our Kinder to Year 12 philosophy. The Primary School has a coordinator who oversees the New South Wales Board of Studies syllabi in teaching programs K - 6, pastoral care, and students' discipline. Students in our Primary enjoy access to all secondary facilities such as Kitchen, Science Lab, Computer Room, Music Lab, and Technology Workshop to gain the full richness a Kinder to Year 12 campus offers. All students attend the school library at least once per week. Our secondary section also has a coordinator who has oversight of all curriculum issues. As a registered school in NSW, St Andrew's provides a comprehensive curriculum that meets all of the Board of Studies requirements. The staff is all highly trained professional teachers, committed to giving your child the best opportunities for achieving the outcomes across all stages of the curriculum. This includes both the School Certificate and the Higher School Certificate. Students are also encouraged to participate in the many extra-curricular activities of the school. These activities are designed to extend the student's interests and include a wide range of sporting activities, Primary and Secondary Choirs, and vocal and instrumental groups.
  6. Founded in 1929 with an unprecedented financial aid approach, St. Andrew's is an independent, co-ed, all-boarding, Episcopal high school. We stand today as a community dedicated to tying education to a public purpose. We work to awaken our students to the responsibilities we share for our world. We seek engagement, inquiry, and creativity to promote future generations of thoughtful, compassionate, and intelligent leaders. Join us. In the 21st century, we rarely think very much about the real purpose of secondary and undergraduate education. We are too busy figuring out how to gain admission and seize a competitive advantage to think clearly about the miracle and the opportunity of joining an educational community dedicated to human and academic excellence. St. Andrew's thinks about the purpose and privilege of education every day. In our 86 years as a distinctive educational experiment, we have sought to tie education to human transformation, illumination, service to causes larger than ourselves, and a commitment to peace, justice, and equality in our country and the world. That is why St. Andrew's is a dynamic and electric place. At a time when many private schools peer suspiciously and timidly out at their nation and the world, St. Andrew's embraces the challenge, excitement, and opportunity of a new century of enlightenment, progress, and hope. Schools do not have to retreat and ignore founding and mission principles to survive. They must, in contrast, celebrate the full power of liberal education and learning. The St. Andrew's story has a proud past, dynamic present, and exciting future. We are working every day to be a place where teachers and students find new meaning, new energy, new commitments in their lives. We are a school intent on exploring and celebrating the diversity of the 21st century and affirming that in diversity, we can come together in affirmation and defense of the great truths of 21st-century life: the power of hope the power of love the power of empathy the power of grace the power of service the power of generosity The academic spirit of the school ties excellence to the original work of the liberal arts. We teach the most rigorous and transformational skills and habits of mind essential to citizenship, leadership, and service in the 21st century: the power of writing, the art of argument, the engagement of research, problem-solving and experimentation, the cultivation of collaboration, teamwork, creativity, and discovery. The program relies on an ambitious and dedicated faculty and a passionate, curious, and energetic student body. Whether students arrive from private, public, charter, or international schools, they meet an academic program that completely redefines their understanding of teaching and learning excellence. The community thrives on the trust, respect, and admiration expressed each day by a remarkable faculty and student body. We are proudly counter-cultural, saying yes to kindness and no to acts of words and expressions of disrespect and cruelty, saying yes to technology as a tool for learning and no as a source of narcissism and distraction, saying yes to hard work, resilience, and grit and no to the alcohol and drug industry saying yes to living lives of service and no to living lives of selfishness and elitism. We continue to cultivate a deep and lasting desire for learning in our students, a willingness to ask questions. We pursue skeptical, independent inquiry and an appreciation of the liberal arts as a source of wisdom, perspective, and hope. We encourage our students to do the work of scholars, artists, and scientists and develop those expressive and analytical skills necessary for effective communication, judicious consideration of multiple points of view, and meaningful lives as engaged citizens. We seek to help our students develop a passion for intellectual pursuits such that each student feels inspired to develop and pursue his/her talents. Our students and faculty live in a residential community founded on ethical principles and Christian beliefs. We expect our faculty and staff to make our students' interests primary, to maintain professional roles with students and to act as role models at all times, to set and maintain healthy boundaries with students, to encourage student autonomy and independence, to act transparently with students, and to support each student's developmental growth and social integration at the School. Our students collaborate with dynamic adults and pursue their passions in a co-curriculum that includes athletics, community service, and the arts. We encourage our students to find the balance between living in and contributing to the community and developing themselves as leaders and individuals. As an Episcopal School, St. Andrew's is grounded in and upheld by our Episcopal identity, welcoming persons regardless of their religious background. We are called to help students explore their spirituality and faith as we nurture their understanding and appreciation of all world religions.
  7. Founded in 1947, St. Andrew’s Episcopal School is an independent, college preparatory school for students in pre-K3 through 12th grade. St. Andrew’s Episcopal School has earned a national reputation for academic excellence, but we understand that an outstanding educational experience isn’t limited to academics. Our mission is “To nurture a diverse community in the Episcopal tradition, fostering spiritual growth, moral responsibility, academic excellence, and artistic and athletic pursuits, while preparing for a life of service to our community and the world.” Our values are vibrantly present in the lives of every member of the St. Andrew’s family, every single day. At St. Andrew’s Episcopal School we believe in: A lifelong dedication to learning Truth, honesty, and integrity The dignity of every human being The pursuit of excellence in all our endeavors The talents and strengths of every individual Stewardship of the resources of our school, community, and world Service to others Since its founding, St. Andrew's mission has been our constant guide, enabling the school to honor its core values while charting a path into an educational future still to unfold. Grounded in our Episcopal heritage and committed to an educational environment that values all facets of a child's development, we are reminded each day that these formative years serve as the foundation for an entire lifetime of learning. As you continue your search for the perfect school, we want St. Andrew's to become fully known to you, enabling your family to make informed educational decisions that are right for each child. On our two campuses, you will encounter a diverse community of joyful learners embracing a developmentally appropriate academic program. In addition, the St. Andrew's experience includes a full complement of co-curricular programming through our robust offerings in the arts and our consistently successful athletics program. Along the way each of our Saints is guided by the St. Andrew's Honor Code that reinforces their moral compass long after graduation. While some St. Andrew’s students are math whizzes or gifted writers, others were born to paint a portrait or perform a song. Some students excel on the field or the court, while others are more at home conducting experiments in a physics or robotics lab. Some are natural leaders, while others are the glue that binds a team together. Some students long to see the world, while others want to serve in their communities. That’s why St. Andrew’s doesn’t stop with challenging students in the classroom. Instead, St. Andrew’s helps each student explore his or her interests and strengths, and then teaches students how to build on those unique gifts for success not only at St. Andrew’s, but also in college, in a career, and life. St. Andrew’s Episcopal School is the place to find your inner genius, your hidden talent, or your championship season. It’s the place to find your strength, your passion, and your path to future success. St. Andrew’s is a close-knit community of students, parents, and teachers of many faiths, cultures, races, and economic backgrounds. Founded in the Episcopal tradition, St. Andrew’s is inclusive and supportive of the beliefs of others. Diversity is celebrated, and students are accepting, open to befriending people of many backgrounds. St. Andrew’s Episcopal School is an educational community that strives to love God and love our neighbors as ourselves. We express our faith and tradition through our chapel services, our community life, and our focus on both spiritual growth and religious formation. St. Andrew’s began within the walls of St. Andrew’s Cathedral, a parish in the Episcopal Diocese of Mississippi, and we are thankful to have a continuing relationship with the Cathedral. Our teachers are experts in their fields who know how to engage their students. Many St. Andrew’s instructors hold master’s degrees, and several have earned doctoral degrees. All St. Andrew’s teachers participate in continuing education programs, ensuring they are familiar with the latest pedagogical developments and technologies for their areas of specialty. 8. St. Andrew's Academy is a private preparatory school in a beautiful rural area of Northern California. We are community-oriented and worship-centered, bookending the day at school with Morning and Evening Prayer's traditional services and offering students opportunities to board with dedicated families in our area. Though we are small, our curriculum is rigorous, and our graduates have been accepted to many prestigious colleges and universities. Our students also travel often, both within the US and overseas. To give a few recent examples, our choristers completed a substantive performance tour of Germany in the summer of 2015, toured and sang through Southern England in 2016, and toured New England in the Spring of 2017. There is no substitute for this caliber of education. Our campus finds itself located in Northern California's beautiful mountains, an excellent launching point for skiing, hiking, backpacking, swimming, sailing, and other year-round recreational activities. Additionally, the campus continues to expand in Old Town Chester. The mission of St. Andrew's Academy is to equip our students with the tools of learning and to endow them with the wisdom of the ages so that they may serve God and their fellow man with virtue and strength. St. Andrew's Academy is not ultimately about developing graduates that are "smarter" or "better" by someone's standard of what smarter or better means. It is neither to have graduates who can "write their own tickets" to the schools and scholarships. Instead, our mission is all about character formation. In other words, what one can do is nothing compared to how and why one does it. St. Andrew's graduates know how to learn. The phrase, "The lost tools of learning," comes from the famous essay by Dorothy Sayers in which she describes the Trivium, which embodies the human learning process as initially formulated by the Ancients as the first three Liberal Arts in the West. Learning is a lifelong calling, and St. Andrew's students embrace the intellectual challenge because these tools are readily available. The lack of historical, literary, and philosophical knowledge inevitably leads to a culture's demise. St. Andrew's students spend much time reading and studying what has gone before giving context to contemporary ideas and issues and preparing them to be influential leaders. The education at St. Andrew's Academy is thoroughly Christian and specifically Orthodox Anglican. This does not mean that we only educate Anglican Christians, but rather that we want to be straightforward about the worldview on which we base our institution. Christ says that the greatest commandment is to love God with all that we are. Therefore, whatever a particular student's beliefs, we call them to accountability to God. Being human means, we should worship our creator. The second greatest commandment is "to love your neighbor as yourself." Spirituality without active concern for those around us is disguised selfishness. As St. James says, "True religion is to look after widows and orphans in their distress." The highest virtue is charity, unselfish love for others. St. Andrew's students are challenged to serve not because it is convenient or because it makes one satisfied with their behavior. Opportunities to serve often require sacrifice and must be actively pursued. The campus is expanding, and plans are envisioned for a traditional and beautiful, community-integrated campus that will provide students with an appropriate academic excellence environment.
  9. From its earliest days, St. Andrew's cultivated challenging programs in a joyful and supportive atmosphere, celebrating its students' diversity of interests, backgrounds, and abilities and developing each child's potential in the "four pillars" of academics, arts, athletics, and spiritual life. In nearly 40 years, the school has stayed true to those endeavors while becoming so much more. Are you passionate about science or art, math or language, technology, or social entrepreneurship? Do you love to compete, or perform, or serve other people? Are you looking to attend a terrific college that fits your interests? St. Andrew's can help you reach your potential in all of those areas and more. If you want to be challenged, prepared, and happy in your next school, check out St. Andrew's. The mission of St. Andrew's Episcopal School is to know and inspire each child in an inclusive community dedicated to exceptional teaching, learning, and service. We believe that God calls us to love. And because we view each of our students as a child of God, we care about them not merely as students who need to pass their courses and get on with life, but as complex human beings whose minds, bodies, and spirits need to be nurtured and supported because they are God's hope for a future generation. The love we practice as an Episcopal school reveals itself in sacrifice, patience, truth-telling, and, to quote St. Paul, a willingness to build one another up and bear one another's burdens. It is a love that both sets expectations and practices forgiveness, each in equal measure. In a phrase, we care deeply for each other. As an Episcopal school, we place love at the center of our life together. Each week we come together for chapel. The chapel's purpose is to balance the hectic pace of school life with a weekly rhythm that includes pause, prayer, and reflection on those things and those relationships that matter most in life. The chapel is about making time each week to thank God for what we have, to hold up in prayer each other's needs and concerns, sing in joy and celebration for the blessings of this life, and share stories of meaning and purpose. Perhaps most importantly and most counter-culturally, the chapel is where we regularly remember to be mindful of the presence of something larger than ourselves. For these reasons, our chaplains and our connection to the Episcopal Diocese of Washington are essential parts of our school's identity. We strive to be a welcoming place. Just as love of neighbor is one cornerstone of Episcopal identity, hospitality to the stranger is another. Episcopal schools are intentionally diverse, and we believe that there are many paths to God. Our school welcomes the perspectives of other faiths and knows that we are better for their presence. We invite all who attend and work in our school to seek clarity about their own most profound beliefs and honor their convictions, whatever they may be, more fully and faithfully in their own lives. We believe that authentic interfaith conversation is most fruitful when we are clear about and accurate to who we are. Our Anglican tradition is a beautiful and rich one that we are eager and committed to sharing. In sharing it, we strive mightily to be as graceful and inclusive as possible to make room for all in our community. Service is at the heart of the Christian life and is another hallmark of Episcopal identity. We serve with a deep conviction that we find our true identity as God's people precisely when we abandon our self-centered agendas to encounter and serve the other. In serving the other, we learn that both the server and the served are transformed in unexpected and beautiful ways. Indeed, we learn that in serving the other, we more often than not meet God. This is why service-learning is at the center of our curriculum. Through service, our students discover that they can change the world and that their service and those they serve to change them for the better. We value both faith and reason, and we cherish the life of the mind. Ours is a faith that seeks understanding. We are eager to question and to explore the most fundamental questions in life. This is why the academic study of religion is integral to our curriculum. As an independent Episcopal school, we enjoy the freedom and exercise the responsibility to engage our students in talking openly about God and the good life. We welcome seekers, doubters, and skeptics. We trust that if we build our community on open, honest, inquisitive, careful, and respectful questioning, the truth will emerge, and all of us will be enlightened as a result. We aim to equip students' minds with the skill and their hearts with the desire to find meaning, to claim their own spiritual identities, and to articulate their convictions with a balance of clarity, generosity, and humility. 10. Founded in 1952, St. Andrew thrives on all our students' curiosity, enthusiasm, and diversity. Whether entering our doors as a new Lower School, Middle School, or Upper School student, every child is embraced by our faculty and staff and encouraged to learn, explore, and enjoy the benefits of devoted teachers and administrators who focus on every child, every day. That focus revolves around four main pillars: Scholar, Artist, Athlete, and Servant. All students have the opportunity to explore success in academics, the arts, on the field or courts, and as community servants. St. Andrew's believes in the qualities of all four areas and has developed the curriculum to support a richly diverse, challenging, and invigorating learning environment for all our students. Woven throughout our community and culture is a strong sense of Episcopal identity, perhaps one of the most critical assets at St. Andrew's. We exist to educate and demonstrate and proclaim the unique worth and beauty of all human beings as creations of a loving, empowering God. In that regard, we guide and challenge all our students to build lives of genuine meaning, purpose, and service in the world they will inherit. This vision of an Episcopal school with a strong sense of family and togetherness brought the school to life when it first began in a small house on Pearl Street in 1952. More than 60 years later, with two beautiful campuses in Austin, thirteen grades, and more than 900 students, St. Andrew still strives to inspire, enlighten, and ultimately graduate young men and women who can think critically, are passionate learners, and joyful servant leaders in their communities. The mission of St. Andrew's Episcopal School is to provide an enriched academic program within a Christian environment emphasizing the fulfillment of each student's potential. St. Andrew's seeks students of character and intelligence from diverse ethnic, racial, and socioeconomic backgrounds. The school strives to help young people achieve their potential in intellectual understanding and esthetic sensitivity, physical well-being, athletic prowess, and moral decisiveness to lead productive, responsible lives, not only for themselves but also for their community. St. Andrew's sees diversity as an integral element of community and education and a vital facet of our mission, core values, and Episcopal identity. We believe that community diversity manifests in many ways, including ethnicity, national origin, religion, gender, sexual orientation, socioeconomic status, family composition, and physical ability. In our commitment to attracting, fostering, and celebrating all aspects of diversity, St. Andrew's aims to create an intentional environment of equity and inclusion. We recognize that this work is continually evolving as we address the changing needs of a diverse community and educate our students to engage with a diverse world. We believe that our strength and resilience as a community stem from our commitment to respect every human being's dignity as a child of God. St. Andrew's Episcopal School admits qualified students regardless of race, color, nationality, ethnicity, religion, physical disability, socioeconomic status, sex, gender identity, or sexual orientation. It does not discriminate based on race, color, nationality, ethnicity, religion, physical disability, socioeconomic status, sex, gender identity, or sexual orientation in the administration of any policies or programs generally accorded or made available to students. Being an Episcopal school means we are more than an educational institution. It means we are committed to forming and nurturing the whole human being: body, mind, and spirit. Episcopal schools are part of a long tradition of Anglican education that is marked by a balance between faith and reason, or "the head" and "the heart" the building up of a community that is welcoming, diverse, and authentically inclusive, and in which all are honored, supported, and valued Common prayer that draws upon the ancient traditions of the Church and is at the same time creative and relevant and a commitment to the practice of service, the work of justice. These principles and ideals are woven into every aspect of our shared life together and set us apart as a community of learning. We are rooted in the Christian tradition and called by the words of the Baptismal Covenant to hold God at the center of all that we do, to seek and serve God in Christ in all persons, to "strive for justice and peace among all people, and [to] respect the dignity of every human being." We strive to cultivate in our students a love of virtue, a desire to serve others, faith in the power of goodness and grace, and the recognition that they are of infinite value at the same time a part of something bigger than themselves. As we raise scholars, artists, and athletes, we also raise disciples of Jesus who, above all else, love God and love their neighbors. The school's mission focuses on practicing our core values of kindness, trust, respect, commitment, and integrity in all areas of life. Using these principles, we strive to unlock each student's potential, inspire their intellectual curiosity, and assist in their growth and maturity in a safe and caring environment. Ultimately, we want our students to become lifelong learners and positive, contributing members of the communities they are and will be a part of. Saint Andrew's School is an Independent School founded in the Episcopal tradition. Our mission is to build a community of learners, provide excellence in education, and nurture each student in mind, body, and spirit. By 2020, Saint Andrew's will be a leader in providing a unified academic community unparalleled in inspiring students to lead honorable lives of purpose and take on limitless opportunities to impact the world. Saint Andrew's academic program is distinguished by the breadth and depth of its curriculum, its collaborative environment, and the multiple experiential opportunities available. Our students in grades preschool-12 are challenged to think critically and solve problems while learning in a collaborative environment safe for risk-taking. Demanding academic courses that will help your child develop and grow are the heart of our academic program. Saint Andrew's has developed a full college preparatory curriculum, including Honors, Advanced Placement (AP), and International Baccalaureate (IB) courses. To help achieve a balanced education, we offer students the opportunity to take courses that match their interests while developing the skills needed to succeed in college and beyond. Recognized worldwide as a rigorous academic program, the International Baccalaureate (IB) is designed to address students' intellectual, social, emotional, and physical well-being. The IB provides the framework for educating critical thinkers and problem-solvers who are internationally minded and ready to tackle the 21st century's challenges. Saint Andrew's has a world-class faculty. They are experts in their field and experts in how students learn. We have invested significant resources in helping faculty develop teaching techniques that help our students develop the knowledge and skills to help pursue their dreams and make a positive impact in a culturally diverse and technology-driven global community. Students' connections with their teachers support them as they learn to take intellectual risks and strive to make significant contributions to their school and the world. Teachers take on the role of mentors and compassionately guide students towards fulfilling their academic, athletic, and artistic goals.
  12. At St. Andrew's Southgate we have a love of learning and strive to nourish the God-given potential of each individual. We value our caring and prayerful Christian environment where children develop as critical thinkers with self-worth and resilience. We have joy in diversity and an ambition for our children to enhance their lives and the lives of others. We are a one-form entry primary school and pride ourselves on providing a broad and stimulating curriculum whilst developing spiritual, moral, and cultural understanding in our pupils. Relationships between pupils and adults are excellent and we have a strong link with St Andrew's Church on Chase Side. St Andrew's School has been providing education for local children since 1863 and today there are 210 pupils on the roll, their ages ranging from 4-11. As a Church School, every aspect of life at St Andrew’s is rooted in and imbued with the values we share as Christians. Although many values might help to describe the uniqueness of Christian life, we feel that six words most clearly speak of our shared vision to embody the love of Jesus Christ and to reflect the infinite value of each individual, and the potential for goodness and growth in God’s creation, as shown in the scriptures. Each year group has a particular focus on one value and has adopted a saint whose own life offers a helpful example of the value lived out. We believe in the importance of quiet and reflective time, not only to enhance concentration but also well-being. We ensure that our collective worship and classroom time involves frequent spaces and moments for stillness, thought, and prayer. We recognize the need for antagonism to be resolved not just in consequences and resolution but in reconciliation and forgiveness. These elements allow a true “Shalom” or peace that includes a sense of being whole and complete. Our children are made aware of the need to pray for and work towards an end to war and violence throughout the world. Being grateful can be important but we promote not just an inner feeling but an outward reaction to appreciating the life we are given and the opportunities placed before us. Children are taught that our response to people in need is a result of our gladness that we are blessed. We encourage one another to be joyful in all that we do and to support and take pleasure in each other’s gifts and talents. We believe in a God who created all things. The children of St Andrew’s are shown and taught in countless ways how to care for and take responsibility for the environment around us. Children have the opportunity within the school to care for animals (including chickens) but also to tend and cultivate the earth in our mini allotments. Our whole school community is engaged with making the very most of our premises with parents and guardians regularly invited to take part in the maintenance or decorating working parties. But perhaps most importantly the children are helped to make the connection between succeeding and participating and God’s desire that we all use the gifts given to us in their fullness.

  15. 16. View full school
  17. View full school
  18. St. Andrew's Regional High School, an accredited independent school, offers programming for grades 8 through 12. Our mission is to provide Christ-centered education of the highest standard, equipping students to be leaders in their chosen profession. Therefore, St. Andrew's offers students a disciplined academic environment along with an opportunity to grow and experience God in a real way. In our classes, teachers challenge students to excel spiritually, academically, artistically, physically, socially, and emotionally. All students are expected to follow the school code of conduct, which directs and leads students to live a life of service, tolerance, and respect. Since 1983, students from Victoria and surrounding areas and worldwide have achieved success by attending St. Andrew's Regional High School. Our commitment to learning means we believe in our students, and we insist on hard work. We instill a sense of pride and teach our students to be independent thinkers. We start with passionate teachers who specialize in their teaching areas. We recognize that not everyone learns in the same way or at the same speed, so we keep our class sizes small and encourage a dialogue that keeps everyone involved. St. Andrew's offers a faith-based education alongside the pursuit of academic excellence. Our students continue to develop their relationship with God daily. Academically, students and staff of St. Andrew's recognize that to achieve success in an ever-developing global context, acquiring fundamental learning is imperative to developing 21st-century skills. These will be the skills that prepare our students for today's world, across all careers. St. Andrew's opened its doors in 1983, but its traditions can be traced to the 19th century when St. Louis College, a Catholic school for boys aged six to fifteen, was located on Pandora Avenue. The philosophy of Catholic education that permeated the core values of the College remains at St. Andrew's. Today, we are a co-educational school of 400 students in Grades 8 through 12, and religious education classes remain a vital facet of our school. Students learn about faith, the Sacraments, their prayer life, the Bible, and contemporary issues. Each year, religious retreats occur across grade levels. Students often say that the retreats are one of the highlights of their year at school. Teachers at St. Andrew's are of various and accomplished educational backgrounds. They take pride in their daily interactions with students, assisting them in their academic and spiritual journey. We endeavor to offer a holistic education to each student at St. Andrew's, aimed at nurturing body, mind, spirit, and emotion. As always, To Build in Love continues to be our mandate. In addition to our faith-based academic programs, we offer a range of athletic programs and extra-curricular activities. We encourage all of our students to participate in order to enrich their school experience further. St. Andrew's is proud of all its students. Our graduates have left our halls to make their way in the world. They have done so with aplomb, distinguishing themselves as leaders in many professions and significant contributors to society. We are delighted to call them alumni. Our reputation is one where all students will interact with God's teachings and be challenged, through a rigorous and comprehensive program of studies, to do the very best they can. If you can't "walk the talk" when it comes to increasingly competitive university entrance requirements, you might as well go home early. At St. Andrew's, superior academics is a huge part of what we do. We prepare students emotionally and intellectually so they can excel at post-secondary studies. Our commitment to learning means we believe in our students, and we insist on hard work. We instill a sense of pride and teach our students to be independent thinkers. 19. St. Andrew's has been educating young men since 1899, and true to our mission statement, we are "Dedicated to developing the complete man, the well-rounded citizen." We pride ourselves on our outstanding teachers, first-rate facilities, beautiful grounds, and programs that prepare boys to go out in the world and make a difference. As you will discover, St. Andrew's is not an ordinary place. We strive to nurture and develop creative boys who can perform above and beyond conventional standards. As a boarding school comprised of 260 students from 30-plus countries and approximately 360-day students, we form an international community of Andreans that flourishes in its diversity. This brotherhood of boys believes in and supports one another in a community that believes in and supports them. Our curriculum is designed to encourage students to become the best they can be academically, artistically, and athletically. Robust academic programming is guided by four areas of focus: boy-friendly instructional strategies, collaboration and teamwork, the development of critical-thinking skills, and the promotion of a growth mindset. Academics are balanced with various co-curricular activities, leadership opportunities, educational trips, and weekend programs. A student who arrives on campus in grade 5 cannot even begin to envision his inner potential, but he will undoubtedly discover it during his time here. He could never imagine that he might be capable of scoring the winning try in a rugby game, performing on stage in a student play, and leading the Pipes & Drums – all within 24 hours. However, we have seen boys achieve the unimaginable time and time again. St. Andrew's facilities are second to none. The Not An Ordinary Place Campaign ran for eight years - 2007-2015 - and added $42-million in improvements to our facilities. It was the most successful and ambitious campaign in the College's history. The three phases included: 1) the Yuill Family Athletic Complex with an all-weather synthetic turf field, baseball diamond, and outdoor, six-lane rubber track 2) the La Brier Family Arena, which houses an NHL-sized ice surface and 6,000 sq. ft. weight training facility renovated kitchen and servery in Cole Hall the Wirth Theatre, complete with a thrust stage and 3) the Centre for Leadership, Innovation & Performance, which focuses on music, business, entrepreneurship, leadership, and engineering. St. Andrew's College has a long and fascinating history, beginning September 10, 1899, the first day of School. Founded as a residential and day school in Chestnut Park in Toronto by Rev. Dr. George Bruce, the School's first Headmaster, the School admitted approximately 50 boys, 15 of whom were boarders. Five masters took the academic reins, and the boys were divided into four classes. Owing to Dr. Bruce's ill-health, he was succeeded by Dr. D. Bruce Macdonald, who went on to become the longest-serving Headmaster (1900 to 1935). In 1905, the School moved to a newly-built campus in Rosedale. That same year, the Highland Cadet Corps was established; its highest-ranking student was Vincent Massey, who later became the first Canadian-born Governor-General of Canada. The Pipes & Drums became part of the Cadet program in 1915. The School sojourned briefly at Knox College from 1918-1920 when Rosedale was used as a military hospital. Six hundred Old Boys served during the First World War, and 104 were killed in action. This vibrant community of more than 160 students experiences daily life in Rogers Hall. The Academic program in the Middle School allows our students to gain knowledge, skills, and confidence as they approach the Upper School. Faculty are well-versed in teaching techniques that engage young boys' attention, such as activity-based learning, humor, group projects, and an element of competition in the classroom, thereby bringing learning to life for their students. Their teaching practices are geared toward recognizing the unique emotional, intellectual, and developmental needs of this pre-adolescent age group. Boys who may have been underachieving in their previous schools often unearth a passion for learning that they never knew they possessed.

  21. Inspired by our Christian ethos we aim to provide a caring, healthy and friendly environment for all of our families. We work in close partnership with parents/carers so that they can play an active part in their child's education. Throughout their time with us, we encourage children to be positive, responsible, and considerate young people who can work cooperatively with others whilst also being confident and successful as independent learners. At St. Andrew are the children, their parents/carers, and staff come from a variety of ethnic backgrounds. In our multi-cultural society, we hope to have a greater awareness, respect, and tolerance of each other by learning about each other’s customs and beliefs. As a Christian and community school, we are in a position to offer a firm foundation for a more just multicultural society. We regard all children as being of equal value and we aim to show by our curriculum, attitudes, and values that cultural diversity is welcome in our school. We intend that all children, regardless of language, faith or culture, should feel valued as individuals. Children’s names are placed on a waiting list and places are allocated as follows. Preference is given to children, who have special educational needs, and for whom St. Andrew’s is thought to be the most appropriate placement and for brothers and sisters of children already attending the school. Please note that a place in a Nursery does not guarantee a place in the Reception Class. There is one intake a year into the Reception Class, in September. If you are interested in a school place, please phone to make an appointment to visit. Information packs regarding admission to primary schools are sent to parents by the Local Authority in the school year before admission. It has been government policy to establish home/school agreements, which contribute to an effective partnership between home and school. Our home/school agreement sets out the rights and responsibilities of the school, the parents, and the children. Parents are asked to sign a home/school agreement when their child starts school. All Key Stage 2 children will be allowed to learn to play the recorder. The school choir also practices each week. Some children may also learn to play strings or brass. Parents may be asked to pay for music books, which then become their property. After-school short courses in basketball, football, tag rugby, hockey, dance, etc. are offered subject to the availability of specialist staff. Our Behaviour Policy deals with bullying, aggressive and disruptive behavior. It states what we expect from the children and what is not acceptable. We hope that our school’s ethos helps the children to develop qualities of tolerance, self-respect, courtesy, and consideration for others and their property. If children display anti-social behavior, parents will be informed and the problems discussed with them. The cooperation and support of parents enable us to maintain a good standard of behavior. St Andrew’s C.E.Primary School follows the Statutory Framework for the Early Years Foundation Stage (click here) in the Nursery and Reception classes and the National Curriculum (click here) in Years 1 to 6. To make learning fun and relevant, we use a thematic approach to teaching which is inspired by the interests of the children and teachers themselves. This means that teachers use themes such as "Up, up and away" in Year 1 or "The Great Wall of China" in Year 6 to teach both knowledge and skills across many curriculum areas such as History, Geography, Science, Art, and Design and Computing. English and Mathematics are taught daily, sometimes in discrete lessons, sometimes using the topic theme as a stimulus for work in these subjects too. There are, of course, times when some subject content does not fit in with a class theme these areas are taught discretely to ensure full coverage of the curriculum. Our curriculum is designed to continuously evolve so that we offer the children an increasingly rich and broad learning experience. As a Christian Voluntary Aided Church of England School, our Religious Education curriculum follows the local Manchester Diocesan Curriculum. This is one way in which we develop the children's spiritual and ethical understanding and knowledge. Children at St Andrew’s receive high-quality phonics teaching. We use a variety of different schemes including Jolly Phonics and Phonics Play, amongst others. The teaching of reading is supported by providing children with a comprehensive and varied reading experience which includes Oxford Reading Tree, Bug Club, and a range of other literature. Once children are past the early stages of reading we use Accelerated Reader to motivate and monitor all our readers. We actively promote the fundamental British values of democracy, the rule of law, individual liberty, and mutual respect and tolerance of those with different faiths and beliefs. A key element to enhancing the curriculum at St Andrew’s is our involvement with the wider community. We get involved every week with learning beyond our school, our city, and our country. We have regular visitors and enjoy school trips to different places. We get involved with supporting those needier than ourselves and try hard to develop those important 'life skills' needed for adult life. Our curriculum offers much more than the statutory requirements. We also invest time in developing the children's manners, confidence, and support and respect for one another. We have a House system which we use to emphasize these issues. Extra-curricular clubs are held on most evenings after school.
  22. St Andrew’s Prep is an independent day and boarding school (full, weekly, and Flexi) for boys and girls aged 9 months to 13 years. It is located in the coastal town of Eastbourne, East Sussex with easy access to London. We value childhood as the most important stage in one’s life a time where social development through friendship and play is as important as academic development within the classroom. We passionately believe that prep school education is about opening doors for young minds and, whilst maintaining high academic standards, we strive to ensure that each pupil has as many doors as possible from which to choose. We feel that this is an exceptional school an environment that upholds the finest prep school traditions but also one which is forward-thinking in preparing children for life in the 21st century. We seek to ensure that all pupils are equipped with the essential qualities of kindness and compassion and that when each child leaves he or she is skilled and confident to perform in many different areas. This website will give you a glimpse of the education, opportunities, and challenges that the school can offer your child. Please do explore it thoroughly and I hope it will whet the appetite for a visit during which, I’m sure, you’ll gain a real sense of the energy, the happiness and the engagement in learning of our children. I’m sure too you will see why we are so proud of its location, the heritage, facilities and staff of the school, but most of all, the children who define us and are the school’s heartbeat. At St Andrew’s we work with the parents to develop pupils of strong character who are confident yet not arrogant pupils who are comfortable with formality and informality who celebrate the successes of others as well as being proud of their achievements and who are ready to extend courtesy and kindness to those about them. Staff worked with the Prep School Council of pupils to discuss the traits needed to produce such morally aware characters and, together, we chose the following as values for all Androvians to possess: Honesty Kindness Respect Gratitude Courage These values are promoted through our rewards and sanctions policies, assemblies, Chapel services, PSHE (Personal Social and Health Education), our Mind Matters program, and, most importantly, the human relationships and partnerships that are nurtured between the children, staff, and parents.
  23. St Andrew’s is a very welcoming school and we are known for our friendly, family atmosphere. We have excellent relationships with our families and know our children very well – one of the many advantages of being a small school. We aim to ensure that every pupil enjoys their time at St Andrew’s and develops a lively and enquiring mind. We value every child as an individual and encourage their unique development whilst emphasizing the importance of respect, teamwork, responsibility, and hard work. At St. Andrew’s we welcome you to our happy, safe, and Christian family, where we encourage everyone to do their very best. Our vision is to inspire our children to be confident individuals, who are excited about learning and curious about the world they live in. We desire that every child who joins St. Andrew’s will achieve high academic standards and indeed, as our school motto states ‘Reach for the Stars and beyond. We aim to achieve this in partnership with parents by: Ensuring that all children receive an enriched and balanced curriculum that is underpinned by Christian values and encourages every child to achieve their full potential. Ensuring that the quality of teaching is of the highest possible standard and that academic excellence is sought by all. Enabling pupils to develop their questioning skills and to develop lively and enquiring minds. Enabling pupils to develop confidence, independence, and the skills and knowledge relevant to dealing with the challenges of everyday life. Working in active partnership with all members of the school community and valuing the contribution of others. Having high standards of personal conduct and modeling acceptable standards of behavior. Providing an environment for learning that is happy, attractive, stimulating, secure, and safe, and is well looked after by everyone. Our curriculum reflects the cultural diversity of our school while maintaining a strong focus on basic skills. The curriculum is designed to be exciting and interesting, ensuring that each child is motivated and engaged. We aim to ensure that all pupils achieve their full educational potential. We have high expectations and a strong focus on literacy and numeracy. In addition to English and maths, our pupils study science, computing, history, geography, religion, music, art and design, and the importance of healthy living through our sports and activities program. All children have the opportunity to learn a musical instrument and we regularly work in partnership with professional artists and musicians. This year we are, once again, working in partnership with the Royal Opera House to deliver their highly successful ‘Chance to Dance’ project. We promote enjoyment for learning and encourage children to be independent, reflective learners through the development of thinking skills.
  24. St Andrew's is a one-form entry voluntary aided C of E school for children aged 4-11 in the London Borough of Barnet and the Diocese of St Albans. The school is sited adjacent to Totteridge common and in the heart of residential housing. As a church school, we have very close links with St. Andrew’s Church. This is just a short walk from the School. The Vicar takes Assembly at School once a week. We are a happy, ambitious, and inclusive school reflecting the rich diversity of families who live in our area. Christian and British values underpin everything we do to ensure that children are safe, happy and treat each other with respect and care. At St Andrew’s we offer children a balanced education in a supportive and friendly atmosphere. We recognize that each child is an individual and will bring their own special experiences when they start school. Working closely with parents we seek to Identify and nurture yo child’s full potential. As a Christian school, we consider values to be very important. Each month we focus on one value that we expect the children to adopt and maintain during their time at our school. As a Church of England school, worship Is very important to Our ethos. We like to start each morning with worship, either in the hail as a whole school, at church (once a half-term), or in our classrooms. Our worship follows the Christian tradition and Is taken by the vicar once per week. Parents are entitled to withdraw their children from acts of worship if they request this In witting. Our daily act of worship is central to the life of our school. In sharing and understanding God's love and the Christian principles which flow from it, we learn to respect the uniqueness of each one of us. We enjoy close links with our parish church, St Andrew's Totteridge, and we worship there several times a year, with the children taking an active role in each service. The school is situated in the beautiful setting of Totteridge Common and we benefit from playing on the Green. We value a close relationship with our families and believe our children can only do their best when they feel happy and secure at school. Our staff are multi-skilled and friendly and are committed to developing our pupil's full potential in all aspects of school life. By working together we seek to build upon our pupil's zest for life, enabling them to grow into keen independent learners who can approach their secondary education with confidence. Our vision and values are at the core of everything we do. Loving and valuing everyone is an essential element of Christian behavior and is at the heart of life at our school. St Andrew's C of E school is a place where we can learn to love God, one another, and ourselves. This is achieved through collective worship, religious education, and the application of Christian values within and beyond the school. Through these Christian values of Respect, Trust, Peace, Cooperation, Responsibility, Courage, Love, Happiness, Understanding, Humility, Resilience, Thoughtfulness, Patience, Determination, Caring, Thankfulness, Forgiveness, Equality, and Excellence we engage children in learning that helps them be respectful of others and be aware of their feelings, emotions, and beliefs. We also aim to help pupils understand the role of British values in society. These values of Democracy, Rule of Law, Individual Liberty, and Respect, and Tolerance of those with different faiths are taught overtly through our curriculum and across all other aspects of school life.
  25. We see education as a partnership between parents, school, and the church. With your help, we will ensure that your child is happy, secure, sees learning as a positive experience, and receives the best possible education. At St. Andrew’s our aim is to create an environment, which reflects Christian beliefs and promotes successful teaching and learning. This is a mixed voluntary-aided school, which has a one-form entry (30 children) and caters to children throughout the Primary age range (5-11). St. Andrew’s is rightly proud of its heritage and has been serving the children and families of Uxbridge since 1869. Right from the very beginning, the school has had a Christian foundation, as a Church of England School, and this faith in God is still a central and vibrant aspect of the character of the school. Christian values underpin the whole ethos of the school, belief in the God-given potential of every child inspires all we do, and joyful worship helps to create a united, loving, and confident community. With this foundation of faith, we seek to serve the local community by offering high-quality education to all our pupils. Our Vision is: To deliver a relevant and balanced quality curriculum that enables all children to reach their full potential. To enable each child to grow in confidence, self-esteem, and spiritual awareness. To foster an understanding and respect for others. To develop inquiring, independent, and creative minds. For children to be happy while belonging to a secure community and to encourage them to look forward to a challenging future. At St. Andrew’s we implement a policy that will enable all children to reach their full potential through the efficient identification of educational, behavioral, and physical strengths and weaknesses. The progress of all children is assessed and tracked at regular intervals. If it is identified that a child is not making the expected progress or requires additional support we work closely with parents to find solutions and enable learning. The positive involvement of all parties is crucial to the success of such pupils. At times it is deemed necessary to involve outside agencies such as the London Borough of Hillingdon Educational Psychology Service. Parents are fully consulted if this occurs. At St Andrew’s we value the diverse ethnic backgrounds of all pupils and families and undertake a variety of events and lessons to celebrate these. We have found this approach to be enriching for all parties as it teaches tolerance and respect for the differences in our community and the wider world. Underpinning all of this are a range of curriculum topics that have strong links to the British Commonwealth. This statement outlines the key British values we actively promote. Our school vision and ethos revolve around Core Christian Values, reflected in our weekly assembly themes. We promote respect for others and this is reiterated through our classroom rules. Our PSHE curriculum embodies the values of mutual respect and we actively promote an attitude of equality and fairness through PE and Games lessons. Our older pupils promote mutual respect by working with other, younger pupils across the school during lessons and also lunchtimes.
