  1. At Gloucester School, we are passionate about the potential of our children and believe that every child can succeed. We aim to provide a safe, stimulating environment that is fully inclusive for all, where learning is fun, exciting, and purposeful. We value parents and carers and staff work hard to build positive relationships, supporting and encouraging parents and carers to be active partners in their children’s learning at home and in school. Achieving high standards, improving attainment, and raising aspirations are at the heart of everything we do at our school. We work together as a community to recognize and achieve excellence. Here at Gloucester Primary, we have around 435 pupils on roll whose ages range from 3 - 11 years of age. The National Curriculum gives us the framework within which we plan what we want the children to learn. This planning must also pay attention to how children learn. We believe that children learn best when they are actively involved. “Learning by doing” makes the work more interesting, more meaningful, more likely to make sense, and more likely to be remembered. Problem-solving and making investigations are both important in Primary education. This kind of learning helps children to think more clearly to raise questions, try out ideas and record their findings. Group work provides an ideal opportunity for children to develop positive social relationships: sharing ideas and helping one another are important lessons for children to learn. There are nine subjects in the National Curriculum plus Religious Education. The teacher's design activities and experiences which promote children’s learning. This ensures the children’s moral, social, spiritual, cultural, emotional, and physical development. It prepares them to be active in their learning, to develop independence, to think, to ask questions, and to solve problems. Opportunities are given to children to play, observe, hypothesize, experiment, collect data, communicate their ideas, think creatively, acquire knowledge, and learn skills, especially those of oracy, literacy, and numeracy. The school is obliged by law to follow the National Curriculum and the learning areas we cover are as follows: Literacy Numeracy Science Design and Technology ICT History Geography Art Music P.E. 2. Globe School is an outstanding school with wonderful, fun-loving, inquisitive, and happy children who behave well and always try their best. Our staff is great too! They are hardworking, committed, and have caring, positive, and professional relationships with our children and parents. Our parents are a delight to work with, always keen to support our children. We want Globe to be a community of happy, confident, motivated children who love learning. We want our children to be successful citizens who believe in and value themselves and each other. We want our children to believe in and stand up for equality in all aspects of life. Therefore, we are continually striving to ensure that we nurture, challenge and enable each and everyone to be the very best they can be in all areas of school life. Globe Primary School was built in 1874 and has a long-established tradition of providing education for the Bethnal Green community. Our school is a community primary school in the London Borough of Tower Hamlets and serves a varied and diverse community from many cultural backgrounds. Boys and girls attend our school from the age of three, when they start nursery, to the age of eleven after which they transfer to a secondary school. Our school has an additionally resourced provision for children with special educational needs. There are thirty places for children who need additional support in their speech, language, and communication development. These places are allocated by the Local Authority. The school environment consists of a large three-story refurbished Victorian building within a walled playground. We have a continuing program of improvement to keep the premises attractive, safe, comfortable, and stimulating for everyone. We also have an extremely well-equipped Computer Room which houses 33 touch screen computers in which classes are taught weekly computing lessons. In addition to this we have class sets of laptops, learn pads, and iPads which are brought into classrooms for use. We try to stay on top of the latest computing developments. The children are loving using our iPods at the moment. For short we call it the ‘Language Provision’ and is a specialist provision within our mainstream primary school. It is for children who have a statement of special educational needs for difficulties specifically related to understanding and/or using spoken language. Children attend full-time and get extra help, including speech and language therapy. We have high expectations of all our children and encourage them to have high expectations of themselves. We want them to be confident in their ability to make progress and happy to have a go without worrying about making mistakes or ‘getting things wrong. We are an inclusive school and as a staff, we work hard to provide high-quality teaching for all and to help children make progress in all that they do. We encourage them to keep up their efforts, to recognize and celebrate their successes, and to stay optimistic when things don’t go according to plan, knowing that there is someone at hand to encourage and support them. We know that this is especially important for children with special educational needs and disabilities and we will strive to find ways to overcome anything that gets in the way of their learning so that they experience a sense of success and share this with their families. Our provision takes into account every aspect of a child’s development. The Curriculum gives the children the opportunity to achieve the highest possible standards of numeracy and literacy. To enable children to develop socially, morally, physically, emotionally, and spiritually we provide stimulating learning environments in which children are encouraged to learn through their own experiences and apply their knowledge independently. Within this framework of a broad and balanced curriculum, the individual needs of each child are met through well-planned and varied learning activities, including visits and specialist tuition. 4. Glenthorne High School is a thriving 11-19 mixed comprehensive Academy with 1,574 pupils, of whom 300 are in the 6th Form. We are an outstanding national Teaching School with a focus on high-quality teacher training and a specialism in the arts. We are a heavily oversubscribed, highly successful school with a long and rich history in the local community. The school was founded on the Glastonbury Road site in 1933. It moved to the Sutton Common Road site in 1958. At this time, it was called Sutton Common County Secondary Girls’ School a small girls’ school for less than 400 pupils. It changed its name to Glenthorne in 1982 and it wasn’t until 1993 that it became co-educational. In 2018, we will celebrate our Diamond Jubilee. "Achievement for All” is our motto and guiding principle. We have established an achievement culture in which every single pupil is encouraged to succeed. We aim to develop each individual’s talent and release each individual’s unique potential. We are an inclusive school and strive to meet the needs of all pupils across the ability spectrum. Our pupils have benefited from the academic rigor and wealth of opportunity to go on to top universities, including Oxbridge and Russell Group Universities. Just this year, over 100 of our students went to university: to Cambridge, Imperial, King’s, Warwick, Sheffield, Oxford, UCL, Birmingham, and Nottingham for example, to study a range of subjects including medicine, engineering, maths, the sciences, and politics. We believe in traditional values and high expectations. We promote a structured learning environment with an emphasis on the importance of homework. We expect high standards of behavior, excellent attendance, and positive attitudes. We have a traditional approach to discipline with zero tolerance of disruption and we encourage courtesy, respect, consideration for others, punctuality, and pride in the uniform of the school. We encourage all our pupils to contribute to the local community and to remember those less fortunate and we have a rich tradition of charity fundraising at the school. Pupils at Glenthorne welcome the security of clearly defined boundaries. All our pupils know exactly what is expected of them and that rules will be enforced consistently. As such, it is important that rules, strategies, and systems are clearly understood by all members of the school community and that they are applied consistently. With this in mind, our behavior policy clearly outlines the expectations that are laid out for all pupils. Glenthorne High School has a long-standing tradition of offering high-quality enrichment opportunities and activities in addition to the curriculum. These activities are an important and exciting feature of school life and contribute enormously to our pupils’ social, moral, spiritual, and academic development. View full school

    Glebe School

We are a busy but friendly school, with lots going on. This website aims to give you a taster of the school, as well as providing up to date information for parents, pupils and the wider community. We hope that you enjoy your visit to our website and that you find the information you are looking for. Please feel free to contact the school direct with any queries you may have. Glebe is a foundation secondary special school for students aged 11-19. Our students have Statements of Special Educational Needs with many diverse needs. One of our main aims is to help our students to achieve and succeed in dealing effectively with any obstacles to learning. The other important priority, of the school, is to give to our young people the skills they require to lead as independent a life as possible once they have left. There are several students on the autistic spectrum. Other needs include specific learning problems, emotional/behavioral and speech/language, and communication difficulties, but all have learning needs as their primary descriptor. Glebe School has received an "Outstanding" grade from Ofsted for our last 3 inspections. We plan to build on this success using all our resources to enable each student to have a healthy, happy, and safe environment within the school and to have a personalized approach to their learning needs. We have a thriving 6th Form where many of our more vulnerable students study for up to 3 years in preparation for their next step in Education, Training, or Employment. There are links with Mainstream schools, in the local area, where some of our students follow integration programs. We also have contacts with Universities around London who sometimes research important areas like Autism and ADHD. The School has an excellent range of facilities which are used to help students reach the best of their potential. There is a team of Specialist subject Teachers who manage and encourage the learning of students. The curriculum courses provide routes to nationally approved certification including GCSE. These include an active Physical Education/Outward Bound area, Drama, Music, Food and Design Technology, Art, Humanities, Numeracy, Advice/Guidance/Work Related Learning and Literacy/Communication Skills. Learning both within and outside of the classroom is seen as an important part of their learning and helps prepare students for lifelong learning. Students, often in smaller class groups, are appropriately supported every day by our Teaching Staff and a committed team of Teaching Assistants. Glebe is located in West Wickham near Bromley on extensive grounds. The School is continually striving to meet the needs of all students making the very best use of all the resources on offer. 20. On behalf of all the staff and children, We would like to extend to you a warm welcome to the thriving school community of St. Monica's. I intend that this prospectus will provide you with a glimpse into the daily life and activities of St. Monica's. It cannot cover every aspect of school life, so We hope that you will contact me with any further questions which you may have. We would be delighted of course, if you could visit us during the school day to see us "at work". Both children and staff always welcome visitors. Perhaps you would be kind enough to make an appointment for such a visit so that We can ensure We are available to be with you. As a Church in Wales school, we place great emphasis on respect for the individual. Every child is special and unique and as stated in our Vision – Every Child has the Chance to Shine! Our aim is that every pupil achieves their best. Every member of staff whether a teacher or not is part of the team. Every parent is encouraged to work with us in partnership. On entering St. Monica's you will quickly appreciate that this is our approach to education. This is what our children say: “This is a very safe and happy school, where we are all very respectful and every child has the chance to shine.” “It is very nice that there are loads of people from different countries who can all meet in one place.” The vast majority of parents choose to send their children to St. Monica’s because it is a Church in Wales school and they want the special kind of education a church school will provide. 22. Our aim at Gladstone Park is to ensure that all children receive an exciting, relevant curriculum that fosters a life-long love of learning. We strive to enable all children to maximize their potential and develop pupils as confident, resilient, and emotionally literate individuals, fully prepared for their future life, ready to seize opportunities, and able to contribute meaningfully to the wider community. At Gladstone Park, we wholeheartedly promote a stimulating and positive learning environment where all our children feel happy, safe, and valued as individuals. We recognize that this vision can only be achieved through a dedicated and committed partnership between staff, pupils, and parents and endeavor to create the ethos that allows this to flourish. Our school values are: Determination (to do our best) Service and Kindness Peace and Forgiveness Justice and Honesty Responsibility Respect and Co-operation We are proud of our healthy school meals cooked on the premises by our staff. The varied daily menu includes a salad bar and fruit with a choice of sandwiches or cooked main meal and dessert. Our meat is Halal with a vegetarian option. KS1 pupils are entitled to have a free school meal. British values underpin the school values and curriculum. They are reinforced through our School Vision. At Gladstone Park Primary School we are completely committed to ensuring that our school is highly inclusive and that every member of our school community is valued and celebrated. We have a value for each half term which is explored in school assembly and explicitly examined in PSHE lessons. Democracy is widespread within the school. Pupils have the opportunity to have their voices heard through our Pupil Council and Pupil questionnaires. Our school behavior policy involves rewards that the pupils vote on as a class group. The importance of Laws, whether they be those that govern the class, the school, or the country, are consistently reinforced throughout regular school days, as well as when dealing with behavior and through school assemblies. Pupils are taught the value and reasons behind laws, that they govern and protect us, the responsibilities that this involves, and the consequences when laws are broken. Visits from authorities such as the Police Fire Service etc. are regular parts of our calendar and help reinforce this message. Within school, pupils are actively encouraged to make choices, knowing that they are in a safe and supportive environment. As a school, we educate and provide boundaries for young pupils to make choices safely, through of provision of a safe environment and empowering education. Pupils are encouraged to know, understand and exercise their rights and personal freedoms and advised how to exercise these safely, for example through our E-Safety and PSHE lessons. Pupils are given the freedom to make choices within the school. Part of our school ethos and behavior policy has developed from our Core Values such as ‘Respect’, and pupils have been part of discussions and assemblies related to what this means and how it is shown. Posters around the school promote respect for others and this is reiterated through our classroom and learning rules, as well as our behavior policy. This is achieved through enhancing pupils' understanding of their place in a culturally diverse society and by giving them opportunities to experience such diversity. Assemblies and discussions involving prejudices and prejudice-based bullying have been followed and supported by learning in RE and PSHE. The school has a ‘Language of the week’ linking to languages spoken by our EAL pupils. Members of different faiths, religions, or beliefs are encouraged to share their knowledge to enhance learning within classes and the school. Our Pupil Forums in particular show that this has been successful. View full school

  24. Welcome to the Gladesmore. Gladesmore is a great place to be - it is a happy and successful school. We are caring and work hard to nurture the development of our children and encourage them to do their best. We believe this is why many people hold the school in such high regard. We are proud of our pupils’ achievements but never complacent. Gladesmore is an 11-16, mixed school with approximately 1,250 pupils. It is situated in the urban area of South Tottenham, adjacent to Markfield Park which backs onto the River Lea and it is close to Seven Sisters Tube Station. Children thrive in our friendly, family atmosphere because we respect and encourage each other in a climate that prides itself on everyone doing their best. Our positive school ethos is central to our success which is promoted through the REACH values of Respect, Enthusiasm, Attitude, Cooperation, and Hard Work. Gladesmore has become highly successful and heavily oversubscribed based on consistent and continual improvement. We have been judged to be 'Outstanding' in three successive OFSTED inspections. We aim to meet the needs of our pupils through a well-planned curriculum supplemented by a variety of enrichment activities. We have a strong emphasis on reading and ask parents and carers to encourage this too. We expect pupils to do their best, to behave well, and to push themselves to achieve the highest academic standards. Our vision is to provide an outstanding round education where our students make impressive progress in a positive, friendly, family community atmosphere. We are proud to be part of the successful Gladesmore Community School. There are many reasons for our success including the respect students have for each other. This promotes our positive atmosphere. We show great enthusiasm for learning and are constantly aiming to improve on what we do to exceed our previous best. We are very proud of our ambitious attitude and we warmly applaud commitment and progress. We value life and want all of us to make a valuable contribution to society. We are all unique. A strong feature of our school is the way we respect our differences and use them to make our education richer. We want a school where we support each other to develop good social skills and through the spirit of cooperation, we help each other to succeed. We want a school where we can concentrate when we need to and enjoy learning. We want to develop as independent learners and make progress through hard work and commitment. We want the Gladesmore community to be kind and friendly and able to have fun at the proper times. Importantly, we also want our school environment to be safe. We undertake a process of rigorous ongoing self-evaluation. This informs our School Development Plan (SDP) which guides our actions to generate continuous improvement. We are a forward-looking school, always looking to improve the quality of what we do and to build on our previous best. Gladesmore goals: Improve outcomes for pupils. Improve the quality of learning, teaching, and assessment. Strengthen personal development, behavior, and welfare of pupils. Improve the effectiveness of leadership and management. Our Value Life initiative aims to educate our young people to stay safe on the streets and to take life decisions that will enable them to make the most of their opportunities to succeed. It raises awareness of the dangers of gun and knife crime in our community and how this can impact young people. Our Value Life campaign started in 2003 and has reached out into the community at large and is having a positive benefit on our Gladesmore pupil community in Haringey and also the wider community in London. Each year has featured grand events with different focuses. The Stepping Stones program is an innovative schools-based, preventative intervention aimed at vulnerable pupils who might benefit from additional guidance and support during the transition from primary to secondary school. In the pilot phase, the project operated in 3 different secondary schools including Gladesmore Community School, and it was funded by the Mayor of London. The project has now launched across London. Gladesmore provides high-quality education for girls and boys aged 11 to 16. At Gladesmore traditional values such as hard work and effort are rewarded. The focus of the school ethos is to promote respect and learning. The school is situated in pleasant surroundings adjacent to Markfield Park and the River Lea. The site occupies three acres and includes excellent facilities for all subjects. The buildings and resources are excellent in all subject areas and provide pupils with ideal opportunities for success. Gladesmore has been awarded numerous national and international honors.
