The school is situated at the eastern end of Port Talbot and was built in 1973. It is surrounded by a hard-playing area and the adjacent playing fields are shared with Dyffryn Comprehensive School. After a fire in November 2001, major refurbishment took place involving the rebuilding and redesign of the infant part of the school. The Governing Body and staff at Groes invited stakeholders to contribute to the vision of our school. We are committed to this vision and it underpins everything we develop within the school and forms the focus for our improvements.
We will cherish and inspire every child to sparkle and shine in their own right, and provide them with skills for life to help them fulfill their dreams and aspirations. Our family ethos will provide a love of learning, plenty of laughter, and an abundance of love.
