  1. NJUCA is dedicated to educating our grades 6-12 students in fundamental biblical principles accompanying a solid academic foundation. We offer a variety of programs and activities to equip young men and women as future leaders. United Christian Academy opened its doors in September 2003 with 27 students and four full-time staff members. During that first year, the students and the staff prayed for the future of the school and a new building. God abruptly answered their prayers when the US Postal Service "is" delivered a piece of mail. Since that miraculous start, New Jersey United Christian Academy has been offering a strong academic program, establishing Biblical Christian values, and training students to become leaders. In our second decade, NJUCA continues to actively inspire students to live vivid Christian lives while bringing together local and international communities of Believers with a unique focus on teen Christian leadership. Please join us in praying that the Lord continues to use this ministry, a Christian school with an emphasis on teen leadership development, faithfully practicing Christian values and emphasizing academic excellence to reach a worldwide audience for His glory. NJUCA has adopted the following as defining its doctrinal basis: We believe that there is one sovereign God, eternally existing in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. (1 Timothy 1:17) We believe the Bible to be the inspired, the only infallible, authoritative Word of God for faith and practice. (2 Timothy 3:16) We believe in the deity of our Lord Jesus Christ, in His virgin birth, in His sinless life, in His miracles, in His vicarious and atoning death through His shed blood, in His bodily resurrection, in His ascension to the right hand of the Father and His return in power and glory. (Hebrews 1:1-3) We believe and profess that salvation is a gift of God's grace received through personal faith in Jesus Christ. (Ephesians 2:8) We believe in the Holy Spirit's present indwelling ministry, whose intercessory and sanctifying work continually renews the Christian and enables him to live a godly life in conformity with the Scripture. (John 14:15-17) We believe in believers' spiritual unity in our Lord Jesus Christ, as evidenced in the local body of Christ that is the church. (Hebrews 10: 22-25) We envision a school that works with the home and the church to raise teens who Recognize and utilize their God-given gifts Our strong Christian leaders impacting their school, communities, and culture Pursue the career to which God has called them, standing out among society as a testimony to God's perfect plan Defend the faith and spread the astonishing news of Jesus Christ to their generation To provide a reliable academic program rooted in Biblical truth, emphasizing developing Christian leadership among students.

Its factories churned out thread, metals, paints, and leather goods. In Newark, Thomas Edison set the www at his Ward Street factory for his later astounding achievements, and Edison rival Edward Weston established the first factory in the United States for commercial production of dynamo-electric machines. On March 24, 1880, the Essex County Assemblyman in the state Legislature introduced "An Act to Provide for the Establishment of Schools of Industrial Education." The Newark Board of Trade sponsored the bill. The Act established three schools of industrial education: one in Newark, one in Trenton, and one in Hoboken. The first Board of Trustees met July 1, 1884. The Newark Technical School opened Monday, February 9, 1885, with 88 students who attended despite a terrible snowstorm.

We expect them to be the best that they can be and achieve the results that they are capable of achieving. Great emphasis is played on the importance of having a rounded education, with a balance of the Arts, Sciences and creative subjects. Innovation is a key element of our curriculum. We have a superb purpose-built Design Centre, where our students are taught Design Technology, Art, Photography, Home Economics, Textiles and Media Studies in our light, modern facilities. The College offers a wide variety of extra-curricular activities and clubs, including Drama, Big Band, orchestras, ensembles, and chamber choir. There are numerous other activities on offer at lunchtime and after school, as can be seen in our Enrichment Booklet, giving information about extra-curricular clubs and activities. The Langford Sports Centre, which we use for our Physical Education program, as well as our extra-curricular program, includes a sports hall, gym, swimming pool, dance studio, and fitness suite. JCG is well known for its excellent netball and hockey teams and many of our students represent the island in Hockey, Netball, and Athletics. Students in the 6th Form are given leadership opportunities and responsibility which will help equip them for life at university. We have a vibrant, high-achieving 6th Form, and as well as working hard to attain academic success, students are encouraged to participate and lead a variety of fundraising activities and community service, to prepare them for life beyond school. Students learn best when their emotional needs are recognized and met. Our pastoral team at College consist of the tutors, the Heads of Year, the Special Educational Needs Co-ordinator, and the school counselor. Our SENCO works with gifted and talented students as well as with those experiencing learning difficulties. A College buddying system also ensures that students new to the school are helped to settle in quickly and get involved in school life. We have a superb House system, with six Houses. This is a vertical grouping arrangement, which provides an opportunity for building friendships with students in other year groups as well as taking part in a variety of activities, including sport, Music, and Drama activities for their House. We hope that you will enjoy browsing through our website and take a look at our school publications, including our half-term Parent Briefings and our Enrichment Booklet, giving details of the extracurricular clubs and activities that are on offer at JCG. All these qualities contribute towards JCG being an excellent choice of school for your daughter’s education. Enjoy. View full school
