  1. The Rainbow Montessori School includes three beautiful nurseries and a Junior School all situated in prime locations throughout North West London. Our very first nursery was established by Rainbow’s founder, Linda Madden, in our West Hampstead premises in 1982 and was followed by the opening of a second nursery in Highgate Village the following year and by Queen’s Park in 2009. Our Junior school was launched in 1992 and is now one of the leading Montessori Junior schools in the Country. We offer an authentic Montessori education to children from 4 through to 12 years old. The independence and self-discipline instilled by the Montessori system of education have enabled Rainbow students to continue onto many of the best secondary schools in the country. Situated within our extensive and beautiful Victorian School Building, on a leafy residential road in West Hampstead, our Rainbow Montessori Junior School offers the ideal environment to nurture your child through this important phase of their education. As they have progressed through nursery education, Montessori children have developed social, intellectual, and cognitive skills within a nurturing Montessori environment. At Junior school, these principles are extended with the child’s developing ability to understand and make use of abstract concepts. This increases both their independence and intellectual development and offers children the maximum freedom to develop within a structured and comprehensive curriculum. Learning becomes progressively more project-based as the child develops with children working in small groups or independently. This allows them to develop more concentration and thoroughness as they begin to explore: the sciences, the arts, culture, and the wider world around them. Patterns of learning developed in this stage of childhood produce confident and competent learning in later years. The interior of our school is bright, beautifully decorated, and specifically designed to provide our students with the ideal Montessori environment. All our classrooms are spacious and abide by the traditional Montessori layout, allowing our children to engage in the full range of educational activities expected in a Montessori classroom. Rainbow classes are organized as multi-aged communities and divided into Elementary 1, Elementary 2, Primary, and Preparatory. Older children are encouraged to help younger children before they moving to their next, more advanced, `community’. The Montessori classroom promotes a quiet environment, well-developed social skills, and respect for others ensure that discipline is rarely a problem. You will find that Rainbow Montessori is a very open and friendly community of teachers, staff, parents, and children. We encourage parents to get involved in all aspects of school life and many of our parents end up supporting and creating fun events such as quiz nights and summer fetes through our parent/teacher group, Friends of Rainbow. We also have a Montessori library open to all parents who want to learn more about education and parenting. Some of our parents even become inspired themselves and end up training to become a teacher at our Rainbow Montessori Training College!
  2. Raglan Church in Wales VC Primary School is a brand new, 21st Century School built for integrated learning experiences that support every child to develop their skills at their stage of development, based on large, plaza learning environments. It is an exciting place to work and to learn for us all. Our new school was blessed and dedicated by Bishop Richard, Bishop of Monmouth on Friday 4th September as a Church in Wales Primary School, and was officially opened on 22nd October 2015 by Bishop Richard Pain Brian Strong, Chairman of Monmouthshire County Council Peter Fox, Leader of the Council Cllr Liz Hacket-Pain and Dr. Cheryl Morgan, who was our Chair of Governors until September 2016 and led us through the build of our new school. Our school serves a wide rural catchment area with families joining us from within the school's catchment and also from Monmouth and Abergavenny where there has been space in the cohort. We have a capacity for 210 children but currently have 212 children on roll, and more than half of our children travel on school transport each day from rural locations within our catchment area. The Ethos of Raglan CiW V.C. Primary School is not a subject that can be found on the school timetable but is a thread woven into the intricate pattern of the whole school day, throughout the whole curriculum. All life experiences are incorporated into a Christian ethos and it is an integral part of the spiritual and moral growth of the children and adults that they can work together within a loving safe family. Every child is encouraged to develop attitudes of openness and inquiry that will engage them in a search for truth. The school provides a caring, but well-disciplined learning environment where the emphasis is placed on the understanding, and respect, of each individual and where an understanding of values is explored. Each adult exercises a respectful approach to the children and other members of staff and the children show similar respect to one another and the staff. Within the school, there is a happy and warm atmosphere where children feel safe to expand and explore their learning. An environment that is controlled and relaxed, and enables all children to learn and to enjoy learning in the best possible way for them. View full school

At Radnor House today you will find a dynamic mix of high academic standards, exceptional pastoral care, and expansive opportunities for pupils, all housed within an innovative and hugely successful environment. Our boys and girls are happy, accomplished, and driven, and Radnor House is fast becoming one of the most dynamic and exciting schools in the area. At each step of the way, we stretch, challenge, and engage our pupils through an outstanding curriculum, encouraging them to consider and respond to all of their learning and reflect upon their experiences. Young people need knowledge but they also need more - to develop the habits of mind which will enable them to become adaptive, responsive, and caring adults, ready and confident to take their place in society. Our pupils are empowered to look after themselves physically, emotionally, and spiritually. Effective pastoral care systems build resilience and adaptability, supporting and working alongside our young people as they navigate their formative years. As an unashamedly full boarding environment, Radley defines itself by its caring community where all, staff and boys alike, are passionate about what they do and dedicated to it. A Radley education is about independent thought and learning with enthusiasm. It is about cultural awareness and the benefits of team sport. It is about academic ambition. It is about learning to live with others. It is about preparation for the world beyond its gates. Above all, it is about the core values that will underpin success in all its forms throughout a Radleian’s life: as leaders, as citizens, as human beings. Radley has always inspired boys to become outstanding young men and we believe that our core values should never change: the timeless Christian qualities of humanity, compassion, and understanding of others. Yet as the world changes, so we must look at things afresh: we must make our values and the educational opportunity we provide genuinely relevant in a world of technology and expanding diversity, cultures, and attitudes. Our vision is to create global citizens of the future: those who care for and about others (citizens) and who can do so in any environment or place (global). We want all our boys to be ready to embrace the challenges of a future not yet realized. To do this, we must seek an increased number of boys from different backgrounds boys with different outlooks and experiences, from different social, cultural, and economic circumstances. We must ensure a Radley education remains within the reach of families who might now find an education here beyond them. We must seek boys of talent in all areas: boys who will create a profound and lasting impact on those around them and on the world in which they live. And we must then make sure that the education we offer them is outstanding and lifelong in its effects. At Radley, we seek to enable, guide, and inspire boys to become outstanding young men. We are a full-boarding single-sex environment, in beautiful rural surroundings with stunning facilities, four miles from the university city of Oxford: the perfect setting in which to provide the very best education. Each boy is encouraged, challenged, and expected to become a self-aware, confident, caring, and independent young man such that when he leaves, he will be ready for the world beyond school: able to engage, lead and shape his future success. Strategic Planning is reviewed regularly and all that the College does is measured by and against its core aims. In this way, we remain rooted in the past, relevant to the present, and ready for the future. We are proud of the traditions of the school but at the same time, we strive to innovate, develop, to improve. View full school

  16. Rack House Primary School is a Community School for children aged 3 to 11 years. It was first opened in 1935. It serves the community of Northern Moor. The main entrance to the school is on Yarmouth Drive. There are also two pedestrian entrances: One on Lawton Moor Road and another on Newall Drive. The Governing Body needs to take a strategic role and be accountable for its decisions. It should set aims and objectives and agree on monitor, and review policies, targets, and priorities. The Foundation Stage covers the curriculum for ages 3 – 5 years and follows guidance from the Early Years Foundation Stage known as EYFS. The children are taught according to the stage of their development rather than their age and are grouped for specific tasks and activities. The National Curriculum is divided into four Key Stages that children are taken through during their school life. Key Stage 2 is taught during Years 3 to 6 of primary school when children are usually aged between 7 and 11. At Rack House Primary we work hard to provide support for all children to enable them to achieve their full potential at school. High-quality teaching which is differentiated and personalized should be available for all pupils. At the heart of the work of every school, class is a continuous cycle of planning, teaching, and assessing which takes account of the wide range of abilities, aptitudes, and interests of children. The majority of children will learn and progress within these arrangements, however, those children whose overall attainments or attainment in specific subjects are significantly outside the expected range may have special educational needs. Just click on the relevant logos on the left to visit the various information sources. Safeguarding is everyone’s responsibility! We must always act in the best interests of the children. We all have a part to play as soon as we come into contact with children. We ALL have a responsibility to ensure a safe environment is in place for our children and any issues JK is the safeguarding lead and D Amesbury is the Deputy. Any concerns speak to both and we will refer the problem to several agencies, depending on the concern, will depend on which agency we contact. Place all concerns on CPOMS. If a teacher notes FGM on a girl under 18, this must be reported to the police ASAP. If a threat/ concern places the child in immediate danger we will inform the police/ social services immediately. The governing body fully supports and is committed to the aims and objectives of Manchester City Council and the Children’s Services Directorate to provide a safe, secure and reassuring environment for staff, pupils, students, and visitors, encouraging everyone to have high aspirations and a love of learning. As safety is an important aspect of strategic leadership within the school, the Head and governors have the ultimate responsibility to ensure that the policy and practices are embedded and monitored. The named eSafety co-ordinator in our school is Katie Butler who has been designated this role as a member of the senior leadership team. All members of the school community have been made aware of who holds this post. It is the role of the eSafety co-ordinator to keep abreast of current issues and guidance through organizations such as Manchester LA, CEOP (Child Exploitation and Online Protection), and Childnet. Senior Management and Governors are updated by the Head or safety coordinator and all governors have an understanding of the issues and strategies at our school about local and national guidelines and advice. This policy, supported by the school’s acceptable use agreements for staff, governors, visitors, and pupils (appendices), is to protect the interests and safety of the whole school community. It is linked to the following mandatory school policies: child protection and safeguarding, health and safety, home–school agreements, and behavior/pupil discipline (including the anti-bullying) policy and PHSE. Rack House Primary School will put into place effective strategies for assessment and record keeping providing a continuous record of learners’ achievements and their progress. The school will usually only expel a pupil as a last resort after trying to improve the pupil’s behavior through other means. However, there are exceptional circumstances in which a school may want to decide to expel a pupil for a one-off offense. The decision to expel your child can be taken by the Head Teacher/Principal and the school trustees. Each class contains a range of equipment and materials to enable every subject to be taught. Also, there are specialist areas and other facilities, which include: Information Communication Technology Lab. Science Lab. Hall, Dining, assemblies, and indoor sports. Outdoor safe play area. Library.

We are a popular school with a family atmosphere, lying at the heart of the community we serve and one which is regularly over-subscribed. The school is set on its grounds in a wider campus that includes Christ Church and its grounds. At Quinton Church Primary we aim to give our pupils the very best education and experiences possible as we know that children flourish and learn best when they feel safe and happy. We want our children to achieve the very best they can and be full and rounded citizens of the future. Working alongside the local community will only further enhance what the school already provides and for this reason we welcome any volunteers and support that people may wish to provide. The school received a 'good' grade in both the OFSTED and the SIAS (church school) inspections in 2012. The admission limit is 30 children in each class. There is one Reception (Foundation Stage) class, two Key Stage 1 classes, and four Key Stage 2 classes with around 210 children on roll. The school is a member of the Quinborne Cluster of primary schools in the Quinton area whose aim is to raise standards of teaching and learning in the community. All our staff, governors, and partners associated with the school share and work towards the same vision, which is: ‘Together with Christ, striving to achieve the best for every child’. School Aims: To give every child opportunities to grow spiritually and to learn about following Christ. To provide a stimulating environment in which each child is given the opportunity of achieving their potential in all areas of learning and experience. To foster the development of knowledge, skills, and understanding which relates to national and local educational legislation and advice. To monitor the progress of each child and respond to their needs. To take the opportunity of promoting Christian influences on the attitude and behavior of all those connected with the school. To encourage the children to adopt a sense of responsibility for their behavior, a caring attitude towards each other, and a concern for the world in which we live. To encourage a sense of mutual trust and partnership between all those connected with the school. In the Birmingham community, cohesion means working towards a society in which strong and positive relationships exist and continue to be developed in schools, in the workplace, and in the wider community. This is achieved through shared values which would include: the valuing of democracy, rule of law, individual liberty, tolerance, and mutual respect of people’s backgrounds and circumstances promoting equal opportunities and challenging discrimination, all of which is based on the Equality Act 2010 and is non-negotiable. 24. Queenswood is a community where girls achieve outstanding results, both in and beyond the classroom. The opportunities for growth and development for boarders and daygirls are extensive, exciting, and fun. Most importantly, Queenswood girls are happy – and happy girls are successful girls. There is no doubt that Queenswood girls excel academically. The grades they achieve at GCSE are consistently around one grade higher in every subject than would be expected at an average independent school. Or, as the Good Schools Guide puts it, Queenswood is ‘at the pinnacle of Hertfordshire’s value-added tables’. This is something of which we are immensely proud. Likewise, they thrive in our truly progressive Sixth Form and proceed to a wide range of prestigious courses at top Universities. In the future, our girls will be leaders in their chosen fields. They will need to be able to try, and fail, and try again with a positive attitude. These are qualities that Queenswood girls develop through their time here and take with them for the rest of their lives. This is a dynamic learning community where the girls’ interests, happiness, and wellbeing are the first consideration at all times. Our girls are at the heart of everything we do, and we know that they feel valued and enriched by the experiences they share here. The Educational Home for the Daughters of Wesleyan Ministers opened in Clapton, London in 1869 then transferred to Clapham Park, London, and closed in 1893, only to re-open as Queenswood School on 23 September 1894, with 23 girls. The first headmistress, Marion Waller, was the daughter of the school’s founder Dr. David Waller. The name Queenswood derives from a lecture by John Ruskin (1819-1900) “Of Queens’ Gardens” published in 1865 in Sesame and Lilies and so does the school motto, in hortis reginæ (“In Queens’ Gardens”). Ruskin’s ideas on the education, power, and place of women in a society formed the basis of the school ethos. In 1897, Miss Waller became engaged and resigned from her post. Ethel Mary Trew took over and stayed as Headmistress for nearly 50 years. She was a great champion of Ruskin. Her ideas are clearly expressed in the symbolism of the school crest: “And what shall be said about that lamp of knowledge and owl of wisdom that, with the lyre of music and song, complete the school crest? The lamp of knowledge burns brightly enough such varied forces feed its flame that every girl, no matter how untalented, may add to its brilliance. The owl’s wisdom not only makes good pupils but also good citizens, strong reliable women, fair wives, and mothers.” In 1925 Queenswood transferred to its present location at Sheepwell House in Hatfield. Here girls studied Horticulture, Botany, and Nature Study. They wore white chanting silk dresses from Liberty’s of London, in imitation of the white water-lilies from Sesame and Lilies and they walked: “... in Queens’ gardens where such blooms as Gladness and Joy, Flora and the Graces flourish is the gift that Queenswood has brought...”.
