- At Small Heath, we provide high standards of education with a focus not only on academic achievements but also on the spiritual, moral, social, and cultural development of our students. Our Academy’s STAR values of Service, Teamwork, Ambition, and Respect are at the core of everything we do and are represented in the way staff and students model themselves. We have a culture of high expectations and we continuously encourage our students to aspire to be the best they can be. This is developed through a strong and supportive system of pastoral care provided by a dedicated team of Pastoral Leaders and form tutors. Our students benefit from an academic curriculum that enables them to achieve high standards and broaden their skills and experience through enrichment activities. We take a personalized approach, where students are set aspirational, but achievable targets through a curriculum pathway that meets their individual needs. We promote fundamental British values and develop students’ understanding of rights and responsibilities in a diverse and democratic society where they can make a positive contribution. Our Mission is to promote a culture of educational excellence, from within a caring and secure environment enriched with the values of discipline, mutual care, and respect, which extends beyond the school into the wider community. Our mission consists of three key elements: Educational excellence A belief that everybody has the potential to succeed within a high-quality and intellectually challenging educational environment. A commitment to instilling high aspirations, a desire to learn, and ambition to achieve. A personalized approach to securing excellence, stemming from a passionate belief that each individual is unique and special and capable of rising above any perceived limitations. Character development A cohesive identity so that our pupils, their parents, and communities feel a strong sense of belonging to the Tauheedul “family”. A passionate focus on a values-based education that instills honesty, integrity, compassion, and mutual respect into all our pupils. A strong core of tenacity, self-respect, and self-belief that inspires each pupil to become the best person they can be Service to communities A determination to develop outstanding British citizens who are proud of, and contribute to, the social and economic prosperity of our country. A sense of personal accountability and responsibility to others. A commitment to charitable endeavors and to making a difference in our world. We teach our pupils the importance of being kind, compassionate, and respectful to everyone that they meet, irrespective of their faith, ethnicity, gender, sexuality, class, or any other perceived differences. Through our leadership specialism, community service projects, and interfaith alliances, our pupils meet inspirational people from a diverse spectrum of backgrounds, beliefs, and cultures, and are encouraged to embrace all that life in modern Britain has to offer. We also consider it essential for our staff to lead by example and exemplify and model British values. British values are therefore built into our staff induction processes and reiterated in all staff training exercises. Pupils are encouraged to become politically aware from a young age and participate in debates concerning age-appropriate issues, developing arguments for and against carefully chosen topics. In doing so, they learn how to put forward a strong case for causes they believe in (an essential part of the democratic process), as well as how to employ both facts and emotion to resonate with other people. British values are ingrained in everything we do and represent all that we strive to achieve in our vision to nurture today’s young people and inspire tomorrow’s leaders. We encourage our pupils to live a life characterized and enriched by the values of Service, Teamwork, Ambition, and Respect, and we hope that these tenets will continue to inform their choices, actions, and behaviors long after they leave school, enabling them to make a positive impact on society. - Slindon College is an independent day and boarding school for boys aged 8 - 18, set in the historic Slindon House, located in the South Downs National Park. Slindon College provides outstanding transformative education and pastoral care for boys who will thrive in a specialist learning environment more suited to Specific Learning Difficulties, Developmental Language Disorders, and associated conditions. Our social and intelligent boys have had setbacks in mainstream settings and the College offers a well-developed pathway for their future success. We have looked at the College’s offer and feel these six areas represent the future for our development and continued success. We want every boy to feel valued, to have opportunities, and to experience challenges and accomplishments. We will do this with guidance from our Governors, links with the wider education community, and rigorous self-assessment. The values of enjoyment, endeavor, and unity hold the College and its family of students and staff together in a journey of discovery. Slindon College aims for outstanding teaching, where engagement and the learning journey are given priority. We recognize that learning takes many pathways and that each pupil has their learning style. Slindon College will see that these learning pathways are fully supported by Specialist Teachers, Speech and Language Therapists, Occupational Therapists, and 1:1 practitioners. They will share best practices across the whole education team. Their expertise will lead to imaginative approaches to breaking down the barriers to success. Every opportunity will be taken to utilize the grounds and the community in bringing learning to life. Slindon College will provide classrooms fit for the technological advances being experienced by our pupils. The College wants its teachers to explore the range of devices available, building the shared exploration of these innovations into their planning. The drive for assisted technology across all subject areas will be partnered with the breadth of software directly designed to support the specific pathways for our pupils. The College provides a curriculum that allows personal development and the breadth of experience that encourages success and life-long engagement in learning. We will introduce Music to the KS3 curriculum, develop our music technology course, and hopefully offer a bespoke music recording studio. This will be open to local schools and the community to access. The strengthening of languages will prepare our pupils for the global stage our pupils will grow with others from countries around the world and build international friendships and possible career links for their futures. Above all our curriculum will offer the necessary challenges which help build resilience. Not every route is an easy one and the values of application and perseverance are encouraged. Every day presents opportunities for pupils to extend their reach. Slindon College has recognized the need to prepare pupils for their next steps. When leaving the College, our pupils need to be prepared and keen for the challenges ahead. We will build links with local Colleges and Universities that will give our boys the experience needed to make this transition a positive step. At Slindon we expect our sixth form to experience regular work placements, to try out possible careers, and to accept the guidance we offer in steering them to an agreed outcome. The parent/college communication links are vital in a unified plan for every pupil's future. The College will ensure that it is positioned correctly in the current wealth of outstanding independent schools as a vital part of this offer. The College will work hard to develop this network of outstanding provisions which will allow a wider choice for all parents. The spread of ideas and partnerships that are possible between our schools is key to closing the net that so many young men fall through. Education should be innovative and exciting and offering choice allows a parent the chance to restart their child’s journey, not out of necessity, but through a well-developed plan. View full school

- At Sladefield Infant School we aim to give children a happy and confident start by welcoming both children and parents to our Induction Programme this includes a varied range of activities in the summer term, to prepare the children for the big and exciting event of starting school. In September, the Reception children begin school on a part-time basis initially, to settle them quickly and to develop good relationships. We are sure you will agree with our values which underpin everything that we do at Sladefield. Achievement Commitment Community Respect Equality Friendship Caring Enjoyment Trust Excellence Responsibility At Sladefield Infant School the promotion of SMSC and British values is not something new and the promotion of these values is in much of what we do. This starts with our school Values and Ethos and permeates right the way through the curriculum into every part of the school day. As well as actively promoting British Values and the development of SMSC the opposite also applies: we challenge pupils, staff, and parents/carers where opinions and behaviors which are contrary to these values are shown. Many pupils at Sladefield Infant School have a very limited personal experience of other cultures and faiths, therefore we feel that it is essential that we promote diversity and broaden our pupils’ experiences. We celebrate and learn about the differences between the diverse communities in Britain but always with a focus on what also makes us similar. Evidence of prejudice is challenged and dealt with and we have a comprehensive RE and PSHE curriculum which explores and gives value to the difference in detail. Sladefield Infant School is known in the community as a happy and caring school. We believe that all individuals within our school should feel valued and able to contribute to the well-being of the school. We want our children to know how to behave well towards each other, their teachers, their parents, and other adults and have respect for other people's property. Sladefield Infant School believes that children’s behavior and success in learning are intrinsically linked. Our school focuses on improving attitudes and behaviors that lead to a positive climate for learning which is underpinned by high-quality teaching, a stimulating learning environment, and culture of praise, recognition, and self-discipline. At Sladefield Infant School, we aim to provide a working environment where all members of the school community feel safe and secure. The policy aims to ensure this is achieved and aims to maintain the high quality of pupil behavior in our setting. View full school

Visits and visitors enrich our curriculum and in Year 6 pupils are encouraged to participate in a residential to build and develop a range of skills. Wherever possible, we link areas of learning to give children a real context and meaning, subsequently a deeper knowledge and understanding. Each theme has opportunities for cross-curricular writing, reading, and maths, making the curriculum more cohesive and ensuring that our high standards are maintained in the core areas when linked to foundation subjects. We aim to promote independent learners and thinkers and encourage our children to become more resilient, open-minded, and imaginative. View full school

- We are very proud of our school and its many successes in all aspects of school life. We consider that our school is a very happy and dynamic place to learn in. Our staff work extremely hard to achieve excellent standards of teaching and learning and continually review and reflect on their work to meet the needs of each individual. We place great emphasis on the need for each child to develop the skills to be confident, adaptable, independent, and self-disciplined learners within a learning environment that celebrates success promotes thinking, and enables children to feel happy and secure. All members of our school community are actively encouraged to work together to meet the aims of our school and to ensure that each child receives the best possible education here, developing the skills and attitudes to continue learning as a life-long activity. Skills is a Residential Special School for primary age boys (National Curriculum Years 1-6 ages 5-11 years old) with social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) difficulties with associated learning difficulties. We are situated just outside Redditch in Worcestershire. The school is approximately 5 miles from the Birmingham boundary and is controlled by Birmingham Local Authority. We are open on weekdays and term time only, having a structure to currently support 80 pupils in the school day and 30 pupils each residential night. Being a member of Skills School means belonging to a community of people who are driven to support one another in challenging circumstances. We provide the best learning experiences possible to teach our youngsters to believe in themselves and try their hardest. We want every pupil to become the “Best they can be”. We celebrate individual successes and achievements and unlock the potential in all children through caring relationships. Our curriculum ensures basic skills in Maths and English are learned so that our children can use them for practical reasons. We prepare youngsters for life beyond Skills ensuring they have the necessary social skills to thrive. Where our input is insufficient on its own, we work alongside other agencies to get the support necessary to ensure our children and your families’ wellbeing is managed. Skills School teaches all foundation subjects through a rolling program of themes. Except for Literacy, Numeracy, and, where the theme does not lend itself to the subject, Science. All other subjects are taught through a thematic approach. Current educational thinking particularly at the primary level places value on the links children make in their understanding when certain subjects are linked together. An example of this would be when children are learning about Romans they are learning historical facts at the same time as gaining an understanding of the geography of the Roman Empire and the science involved in the technologies that were invented or discovered. During lessons, we want to see children engaged in meaningful discussions with each other and staff. Children will be taught how to accept criticism and getting things wrong and view it as a necessary part of the learning process. Children will be supported to become more able when working together. They will begin to feel relaxed in the school environment, ask sensible questions and relate their learning to their life. Ultimately we want to inspire children at Skills School to believe they have every opportunity to make a valued contribution to the life of the school and beyond it when they leave. The ethos of the school is that learning experiences shall be presented in such a way as to allow pupils to enjoy their learning and to succeed to raise self-esteem and to build their confidence, through knowledge of achievement and progress. - The school is a happy and safe place where every child is encouraged to learn to the best of their abilities whilst still having fun. There is a dedicated and hardworking staff committed to ensuring children receive an outstanding education that recognizes the talents and develops the achievements of each child. We hope you enjoy exploring this website and invite you to visit our school and truly appreciate the warm and welcoming atmosphere. Our admissions for Reception class upwards are handled by The Hackney Learning Trust. Nursery applications are made directly to the school. You are very welcome to visit before enrolling your child. We organize Open Days during the school year which can be found on the school calendar and booked via the school office. Many of our children join Sir Thomas Abney in the Nursery, aged three. We trust in the expertise of our staff to provide outstanding opportunities for learning and encouragement for every child. At Sir Thomas Abney we show the children how to learn for themselves and to work with others. We provide quality feedback to all children and value their views too. We understand what it is like to be a child growing up in this community and work in partnership with parents to ensure children progress as fast as possible and achieve as much as possible. Sir Thomas Abney Nursery is a safe, caring, stimulating environment, where children can work and play with confidence. In the Early Years, children deepen their knowledge and understanding through play, talk, observation, planning activities for themselves, and reflection. We encourage children to explore, discover, experiment, problem-solve, and above all, feel happy and settled. At Sir Thomas Abney we believe that young children learn best through high-quality play experiences supported by high-quality staff. We have a strong emphasis on outdoor learning and children can play and learn together outside in all weathers in a large, engaging environment. We encourage children to make their own choices about what they would like to learn to develop their independence skills. We endeavor to inspire imaginations through our termly topics and provide a rich, stimulating place for children. Our school receives PE and sport premium funding based on the number of pupils in years 1 to 6. Here is a breakdown of how much we got, what we spent it on, and details of the impact it had on our students. At Sir Thomas Abney we are committed to creating and maintaining a safe and secure environment for children, staff, volunteers, and visitors. We promote a climate where children and adults will feel confident about sharing any concerns which they may have about their safety or the well-being of others. Pupil Premium is funding allocated to schools to boost the attainment of pupils from low-income families. It is intended to enable schools to provide targeted support to help children reach their full potential. Funding is allocated for children who are Looked after by the Local Authority (CLA) and for every child who has been registered for Free School Meals in the last six years. It is the responsibility of the governors to explain pupil premium expenditure to parents in the form of an annual statement. It is for schools to decide how the Pupil Premium is spent since they are best placed to assess what additional provision should be made for the individual pupils they are responsible for. We listen to children’s and parents’/carers’ voices. Our school behavior policy is clear that children are expected to contribute and co-operate, taking into account the views of others. Parent/carer surveys and children questionnaires are taken to inform our practice. The election of school council members in key stages one and two reflect the British electoral system and demonstrates democracy in action. In EYFS we support children’s personal, social and emotional development (PSED) by giving them opportunities to develop their self-confidence and self-awareness, to make choices and decisions about what they want to explore and how they’re going to use the resources we have made accessible to them. (PSED). We consistently reinforce our high expectations of children. Children are taught the value and reasons behind our expectations (rules) that they are there to protect us, that everyone has a responsibility and that there are consequences when rules are broken. This is reinforced in different contexts. Whole school rules, playground rules, and class rules are reviewed regularly and reinforced through assemblies and circle times. Children all contribute to their class rules at the start of the year. Rewards are given to children who show exemplary behavior and agreed sanctions are in place for those who break the rules. In EYFS we learn the difference between right and wrong: about behaving within agreed and clearly defined boundaries and about dealing with consequences. View full school

- Sir John Heron has been built on the site where the old Fifth Avenue School used to be. It opened as a two-form entry school in 2001 with a nursery and two Reception classes. With the opening of two new classes each year, it has now reached its full capacity. As a resourced school we have children with profound and multiple learning difficulties integrated within our mainstream classes. We want our children to enjoy learning, playing, and sharing, while developing their understanding, respect, and value for the many different cultures that enrich our school and its community. We strongly believe that we can only succeed in our aims when parents, carers, and the school work in close partnership. We encourage parental involvement in the children’s education as between us we have the most important job of educating our children enhancing their academic and social skills, their emotional and spiritual development, and prepare them for the future. We strive to give our children the opportunity of acquiring the skills and knowledge which will prepare them for secondary education and adult life. For this, we hope that the children will participate in as wide a range of activities as possible and increase their experience and appreciation of all that life has to offer. At Sir John Heron we enhance children's learning through a broad range of activities and events. This aims to ensure that learning for children is practical, real, engaging, and exciting. As a school, we aim for all children to be successful, independent learners and effective decision-makers, within an inclusive, caring multi-cultural environment that promotes equal opportunities and respect while celebrating differences. In partnership with parents, governors, and the local community, we strive to deliver a broad and balanced curriculum that promotes high achievement for all children. - Sir John Cass's Foundation Primary School is a unique Church of England school in the heart of the City of London. Our School was founded by Sir John Cass over 300 years ago and to this day we remain proudly supported by our trustees, Sir John Cass's Foundation. We are the only maintained school in the City of London and enjoy many benefits from this unique relationship. We aim to provide an exceptional education for every child. To nurture their talents, strive for excellence, and inspire young people to learn in a safe and caring environment where everyone is valued. The Cass Child and Family Centre combine the Children’s Centre provision for the City of London with the Nursery and Reception classes of the Sir John Cass's Foundation Primary School. The Child & Family Centre provides full and part-time daycare for children aged between 12 weeks and 5 years. We are open 48 weeks a year. Our Play Centre is based in the school's dining hall. It is open from 3.30 pm – 5.55 pm We cater for children who are in Year 1 to Year 6. (Please check Cass Child and Family Centre tab for Children age between 0-5 years old). Once the children arrive at the Playcentre, they are given light refreshments and can enjoy free play activities and group games. The governing body is responsible for the strategic direction of the school. They support and challenge the school to achieve the very best they can in every area. Our full governing body meets at least 3 times per year. We also have two committees that meet regularly and several ad hoc groups. The Curriculum Pupils Affairs and Achievement Committee and the Finance, Staffing and General Purposes Committee. The values are taught explicitly through Personal, Social, Health, and Emotional Education (PSHE), D.A.R.E lessons as well as Religious Education lessons. We also teach British Values through planning and delivering a broad and balanced curriculum. The school takes opportunities to actively promote British Values through daily collective worship, celebration assembly, whole school assemblies, and assemblies that focus on different cultures/faiths. We also actively promote British values by ensuring that our curriculum planning and delivery includes real opportunities for exploring these values. We hold Poppy Day commemoration and have an annual Remembrance Day Assembly. We also held a full day of special activities for the Queen's Golden Jubilee. In the past, our choir had the great honor of being invited to sing as part of the Queen’s Christmas speech broadcast to the Nation. Democracy is an important value at our school. Pupils have the opportunity to have their voices heard through pupil questionnaires and regular circle times. Pupils also have input into their learning and what they would like to learn which promotes the pupil's voice. We also have a very productive and actively involved School Council. Sir John Cass’s Primary School promotes Core Christian Values: Wisdom, Thankfulness, Hope, Forgiveness, Trust, Service, Peace, and Friendship. Each year group focuses on a particular value and examples of their work on each topic are displayed in shared spaces. The importance of laws and rules, whether they are those that govern the class, the school, or the country, are consistently reinforced throughout regular school days. Our children helped to create our school rules/code of conduct. Pupils are taught the value and reasons behind laws, that they govern and protect us, the responsibilities that this involves, and the consequences when laws are broken. Visits from authorities such as the police, fire service, etc. are regular parts of our calendar and help reinforce this message. To encourage and promote good behavior, attitude, and work, we have devised a reward system that is consistently followed throughout the school. We are committed to praising children’s efforts. Sir John Cass’s Foundation is one of London’s oldest and largest education charities. Founded in 1748, it supports education for young people in London through its grant programs for individuals, schools, and organizations, and its support for several institutions bearing Sir John Cass’s name. In 1710 Sir John Cass established an independent all-age school in Aldgate. Sir John Cass and his wife Lady Elizabeth Cass supported the school until they died in 1718 and 1732 respectively, the school thereafter closing several times until the Foundation was established in 1748. Sir John Cass’s Foundation managed the school and paid for all expenses until 1896 when the Government provided funds to meet part of the running costs. The Foundation bore all of the capital costs in providing for a new school building, which opened on its current site in 1909. The School became Voluntary Aided in 1951 and a primary school in 1966. The Foundation is the school's Trustee. It owns the freehold of the site and provides ongoing support to the school. Recent partnerships and projects have included the development of the relationship between the Hampshire and Cass Foundation Mountain Centre and the Sir John Cass’s Foundation Primary School. The Foundation also awarded a grant for the school to visit the Mountain Centre. In 2016 the Foundation awarded a grant for the Making learning real project that will equip classrooms with the latest technology to enable teachers and children to utilize IT purposefully and to enhance the learning experience for every child. We also assist in arranging interviews and visits to sixth form colleges with pupils in consultation with the Tower Hamlets Careers Service. Parents are involved in this at an early stage and discussions are held in reviews in years 10 and 11. Pupil's voice is taken very seriously at SJCR. We have a school council that meets regularly with the Senior Leadership Team to discuss issues of interest or concern to pupils. The council is elected by each tutor group. We encourage pupils with SEND to take part in this. Pupils with SEND need to be listened to regarding their learning. Opportunities to do this are used during reviews of support plans and in another meeting with parents and teachers. We aim to provide a stimulating, intellectual and supportive environment for our students to achieve their very best. This means academic success as well as training, skills, and personal development. Studying in an environment where you are known as individuals and are supported is very important for success in post-16 education. Our highly motivated and dedicated teaching staff encourages independent investigation, discussion and debate, backed up by excellent resources and a wide-ranging curriculum. Our purpose-built Sixth Form College block is equipped with its common rooms, library, and IT suites, specifically for Sixth Form students. View full school

- During the process of understanding and preparing for post-16 study, discovering the options available to you is paramount. We are a specialist sixth form college for students who want to progress towards Higher Education and high-skill employment. We have created a unique learning community, which enables our students to develop personal attributes and abilities alongside their academic or vocational qualifications. Propelling your academic achievements is vital, but we believe in strengthening more than what you can achieve in a classroom. We support students by focusing on, communication skills, leadership ability, and resilience in a complex world. Our 10 am lesson start, 6 unique Pathways, and various schemes aim to maximize not only your potential to succeed with us, but also to maximize the skills you’ll need to thrive, past the gates of Monoux. Our College is a place where everyone who studies with us feels safe and secure. A place where the facilities help all of our students get the very best education possible. A place where we expect the very best from our staff and our students were aiming high is encouraged whether the aim is to go on to university or to join the world of work. For many of our students, further education at our College builds on a successful school career. For others, Sir George Monoux College offers a fresh start, a second chance, to succeed. We have a particular commitment to 'second chance' education because, after a pretty undistinguished school career, We obtained all of my qualifications through adult and further education. As We've said already, We think we're a really good College. However, we don't just want to be good we want to be outstanding. Not just outstanding in East London but outstanding in the UK. We know it will take a great deal of effort from all of us - our staff and students and those of us on the Corporation - to become outstanding. But we believe that it's possible. It's aiming high. It's a real privilege. The Corporation of Governors sets the strategic direction of the College and makes sure that we deliver what we promise. We work closely with our staff and particularly our Principal, David Vasse, and his senior team because how the College is led is crucial to how outstanding we can become. But we also want to make sure that everyone who works with us feels that their voice is heard and that they have opportunities to contribute ideas to improve what we do. View full school
