  1. A warm welcome to Harris Boys’ Academy East Dulwich. What makes us special goes far beyond the “outstanding” rating by Ofsted we were delighted to achieve in 2011. At the heart of our success is an absolute belief in the ability of every student to shine – no matter what their background, ability, or character. We will accept no excuses for being anything but the best we can be. When a student joins our academy some will already be high-fliers, others will be good all-rounders and some will face significant and individual challenges. Each student will already have a unique personality, gift, and character that we will develop further by working together. I have made it clear to everyone at the Academy that we are stronger as a team than a group of individuals, and that by pulling in the same direction we will achieve great things. We encourage our students to be critical thinkers and promote these skills throughout the curriculum. A student at Harris Boys' Academy will learn how to engage critically with foreign affairs, religion and society, issues of citizenship, and the media, so they acquire the skills and recognize the value of, thinking for themselves and thinking in a well-reasoned manner. This feeds into our desire to leave our students with the ability to apply these same skills to any context, for example, whether they are being subject to peer pressure, or being actively targeted by extremist ideologies. Children learn best when their school environment is safe, inclusive, and welcoming. We have a culture of mutual respect between students and staff, and zero tolerance of bullying in any form. We have a proven track record of getting the best from all our students, reinforced by very clear expectations regarding student conduct, manners, uniform, and behavior which are non-negotiable and consistently enforced across the Academy. We believe that success occurs in a framework of high expectations, whilst also acknowledging that mistakes provide valuable learning opportunities too. This is a school at which every student has the chance to find his unique path to success, where everyone is aware of their rights and responsibilities towards themselves and others. The curriculum at Harris Boys’ Academy East Dulwich is designed to ensure that each student is educated and supported to succeed in the world today in line with the latest educational research. The Key Stage 3 curriculum is followed by Years 7 and 8 and is designed to provide depth and breadth of study whilst ensuring that appropriate time can be devoted to Mathematics, English, and Science. Key Stage 3 is the bedrock and the foundation for our students to be successful when they leave Harris Boys’ Academy. By getting Key Stage 3 right, the transition to Key Stage 4 is much easier for students. We intend to give students a ‘taste’ of as many subjects as possible, whilst preparing them for, and informing them about, their GCSE options. Literacy and numeracy skills are developed in every subject and across the curriculum. All students have a broad weekly curriculum offer of English, Maths, Science, Geography, History, Spanish, Religious Studies, ICT skills, Physical Education, Design and Technology, Food Technology, Art, Drama, Dance, and Music. To help our students prepare for success in an ever-changing world, we have developed a Key Stage 4 (Years 9, 10, and 11) Programme of Study that offers each student a focussed Curriculum Pathway, as well as an option to incorporate personal interest into his studies. All students follow a core curriculum of English Language, English Literature, Maths, Double Science, either Geography or History, and BTEC First Sport. The majority of our boys will also have a Modern Foreign Language as part of their core curriculum. Our students select their additional subjects to make up their curriculum. This selection is made up of vocational courses and other academic subjects. The list of optional subjects is extensive and will give the boys a real opportunity to experience a subject that they may then want to go off and study at university. At Key Stage 5, we are part of the highly successful Harris Federation Sixth Form with over 120 students studying at Harris Boys’ Academy East Dulwich.
  2. Welcome to St. Anthony’s School. St Anthony’s is a happy and successful school serving the Roman Catholic community of East Dulwich and neighboring parishes. Our children tell us that they love to be here and we are very proud of them and their achievements. We aim to provide an environment where our children can learn to love learning and prepare themselves for the skills they will need for a 21st Century world. Key to our school’s success is our partnership with parents with whom we share responsibility for the children's education. Our Mission statement: St. Anthony’s School is based on a Catholic foundation. Each child will be helped to achieve their social, academic, and spiritual potential. We work with the children, in partnership with family and parish communities. We support all on their Faith journey in Christ. We are committed to an equal opportunities policy and stand firm in the rejection of all prejudice. We develop a community where mutual respect reigns, where value is placed on social and cultural diversity, where personal standards of behavior and work are high, and where all grow to recognize their responsibilities both to themselves and to others. Religious Education, RE, is taught through the “Come and See” program which allows children to explore the teachings of the Catholic Church through the use of age-appropriate resources and activities. In addition to this, a whole school day of reflection takes place on Ash Wednesday and in June to celebrate St Anthony’s day. We also express our faith in school through fundraising activities for a children’s home in Zambia, Cafod, The Manna Centre, and The Passage amongst others. We have assemblies throughout the week, class-based liturgies, regular whole school Masses, and classes also join the parishioners of St Thomas More for Mass each week. All children say prayers at the beginning and end of the school day and before they go to lunch. These are often led by children and include a range of set prayers and those which the children have written themselves. Representatives from each Key Stage Two class form the Chaplaincy Team who take an active role in the prayer life of the school. They look at the Gospel and reflect on the meaning of this before sharing it with classes before they going to Mass. They lead prayers in Key Stage assemblies and have started to share a thought for the week for children.
  3. Welcome to The Charter School East Dulwich. The Charter School East Dulwich is an inclusive, entrepreneurial, and academically-rigorous secondary school serving the vibrant communities of East Dulwich and South Camberwell. Going into our second year of operation, we are one of the most over-subscribed new schools in the country. As part of The Charter Schools Educational Trust, we are founded on the conviction that all children deserve the opportunity to succeed, whatever their start in life or personal circumstances. We are a school at the heart of our community: a place where children walk to school together and where friendships, between students and between parents, grow stronger as a result of daily contact in and outside of the classroom. We teach our students to be curious, creative, confident, courageous, and caring. They will be happy in themselves, excited about their future, and ambitious for success. They will leave us fully able to participate in our democratic society and prepared to meet the challenges and to harvest the opportunities of life in the 21st century. All of this will require dedication and hard work - both in lessons and outside of lessons. We expect a lot of our students. We expect them to commit to developing their aptitudes. For some students, this will mean exploring specialist subject areas such as Mandarin or Theatre Studies. For others, this will mean additional support in literacy and mathematics. We expect all students to participate enthusiastically in the extra-curricular life of the school, through additional sports and specialist clubs and societies, some of which we offer in partnership with our outstanding sibling school, The Charter School North Dulwich. Finally, we expect students to contribute actively and generously to their community, through volunteering programs, peer support, and exemplary personal conduct. In return, we will work tirelessly to provide students with the support and encouragement needed to achieve their goals. Five core values underpin all aspects of our school life: Curiosity Creativity Confidence Courageousness Caring These values form the backbone of character and relationship education at The Charter School East Dulwich. Students will leave our care understanding each of these values in-depth and modeling them in later life. We have designed a curriculum rich in the powerful knowledge and concepts all students need--first, to understand the world in-depth and eventually to thrive in it both personally and professionally. This will include a thorough grounding in the best that has been thought and said from around the globe. Our Foundations (Key Stage 3) curriculum runs from Year 7 to Year 9. The core curriculum is based on the English National Curriculum but is not bound by its constraints. Instead, we apply the most appropriate elements and enhance students' learning through units of study specifically designed to stretch them scholastically and personally and to lay solid foundations for future success. In Key stage 4, pupils will follow tailored pathways of study, reflecting their aptitudes and interests. All pathways will include the core subjects of English language and literature, mathematics, and science, but will also include optional subjects. Most pupils will have the opportunity to study for the English Baccalaureate suite of qualifications, which offer the widest field of professional opportunities in later life. The Key stage 4 tutorial program will focus on the development of professional and life skills that will prepare students for fulfilling adult lives. Community and work experience placements will be part of the Key Stage 4 curriculum for all pupils. The school will also offer opportunities for leadership development activities such as the Duke of Edinburgh scheme. Pupils will be provided with information, advice, and guidance to create a personalized program of study in Years 12 and 13. The school will offer a wide range of A-Levels and other Level 3 qualifications. Work-Related Learning provision will remain a key feature of school life in Years 12 and 13. All Year 12 pupils will undertake one hour a week of Community Service, in line with provision at The Charter School, in North Dulwich. We will expect all of our students to secure offers from the higher education provider of their choice or positions on higher-level apprentice schemes. Students with suitable levels of academic achievement will be provided with bespoke support for applications to Oxford and Cambridge colleges and medical schools. The Charter School East Dulwich will provide an excellent education for young people from the local community in a safe, supportive learning environment, where people are valued and make positive contributions to the school, and where students go on to become responsible, independent members of society. We believe that all our young people have the potential to achieve in school and succeed in life. Whatever their starting point no young person will be left behind. Excellent performance comes through effort, motivation, and targeted interventions throughout the years of secondary education.
  4. Since 1885 the Prep has been at the forefront of preparatory schooling in England. Generations of boys (and Nursery-aged girls) have benefited from a school that has embraced change, kept pace with pedagogy and technology, and looked to inspire excellence in its pupils. On 1st September 2011, the school’s name was changed to Dulwich Prep London, launching a new and exciting era in its growth and development. Dulwich Prep London is essentially a boys’ school with about 850 pupils between the ages of 3 and 13. In the Early Years Department, girls are also welcomed. Dulwich Prep London inspires excellence and our greatest success is measured by the character of our boys. Our values sow the seeds of possibility in the mind, heart, and spirit of each boy and create the right culture and the right conditions to allow these possibilities to flourish and become real. For our boys, their time at school is about more than preparation for exams, it is preparation for life. We believe that an education rooted in teaching character is what sets our boys apart. Through Justice, Gratitude, Self-Discipline, Love, Honesty, Humility, Courage, and Service we want to teach our boys how to be kind and offer help where it is needed to play fair and tell the truth no matter who is listening to join in and play their part whilst letting others be heard to appreciate the world around them and how valuable their contribution is and always to have a go. Our school’s priority is the well-being and happiness of the boys. Each boy’s sense of belonging is paramount to his success and the continuing success of the school. Our boys are challenged in their pursuit of excellence and we support each boy as he finds what he is good at. We want our boys to leave us having experienced the very best in pastoral care, teaching, and learning, having enjoyed the most dynamic and demanding academic and co-curricular programs, and having made friends for life. These are the key building blocks for the school, but it is our values that act as the cement which bonds everyone and everything together. Our values create Dulwich Prep London’s special atmosphere. At Dulwich Prep London we recognize that learning is an exciting journey upon which every student embarks and understand that each student’s ‘learning journey is unique. We believe that learning can be seen much like a muscle. The learning muscle can be fuelled, trained, and subsequently strengthened by a plethora of different opportunities and experiences, each tailored to the individual. Through an innovative and challenging curriculum, Dulwich Prep London seeks to foster a growth mindset in all of its students. Many educators want children to ‘reach their potential. At Dulwich Prep London we believe that there is no limit to a child’s potential. Through recognition of endeavor, appropriate challenge, and the development of a learning toolkit we hope to enable every child to find success in the future, most likely in professions or scenarios that we cannot begin to imagine. At Dulwich Prep we seek to promote independence in learning and aim to develop learners who move into senior schools with confidence in their strategies for learning and thus welcome academic challenge. The developmental process is gradual and inextricably linked to maturity, however, support structures and scaffolds are put in place for each student from the very beginning of their learning journey. The curriculum in the Lower School offers a seamless transition from Pre-Prep Years 1 and 2. Many of the subjects continue to be delivered by class teachers, however, the number of specialist subject lessons increases. This helps the boys to become more independent and experience a variety of teachers and teaching styles whilst also enabling the reinforcement of a growth mindset in each boy. Whilst subject knowledge remains an extremely important facet of the curriculum, the focus on skills and the continued incorporation of support for the development of characteristics of effective learning also has great emphasis. A wider range of academic subjects is taught in sets, which help respond to the needs of each individual and provide appropriate challenges for every ability level. Utilizing the foundations laid in previous sections by class teachers, form tutors help provide pastoral support to the boys but also help guide their tutees through the academic rigors of each day. Subjects formerly taught within a topic-based approach become discrete lessons in this section of the school. Specialist Geography, History, RS, Art, and DT teachers help each boy progress through thought-provoking schemes of work which help develop subject knowledge but also, and importantly, new skills relevant to each subject area. The Upper School curriculum prepares boys for exam success whilst continuing to foster a love for learning. Boys are taught to think and reflect on their learning and Costa’s Habits of Mind continue to provide a framework of learning which helps them face and overcome the academic challenge. We recognize that the boys, at this stage in their education, are of ‘secondary’ age and require a curriculum and support network which is relevant, inspiring, and challenging. Beyond the academic subjects, boys enter a creative rotation through Years 7 and 8 where they explore Art, Design and Technology, Music Technology, Cooking, Robotics, and Computing. A careful balance between the academic preparation for exams and the broadening of an individual’s horizons is sought and managed. An appropriate work-life balance is encouraged to ensure boys are learning efficiently and effectively, but most importantly, with passion and drive. 5. Welcome to Harris Girls’ Academy East Dulwich. We are an outstanding school in which students achieve excellent exam results across a wide range of subject areas. Students benefit from superb facilities including modern teaching areas, state-of-the-art IT, sports hall, health science suite, and a sixth form center. We believe that our responsibility is to offer excellent provision that meets the needs of all those with whom we work. We are proud to be an inclusive, multi-cultural community providing inspiration and vibrancy, safety, and support. Our vision is to develop students with character, commitment, courage, and conscience, who become academically and personally successful and lead in their community and beyond. Our motto is “Aspire, Learn, Succeed”. This means that we look for every member of our community to be keen to learn, to be willing to engage, and to be successful in their time with us. We want our students to be aspirational we want them to think about what they want to do with their lives, to explore the world and think about where they fit into it, what they can get from it, and what they can offer as well. Our values: Fairness. Relationships. Authenticity. Generosity. Happiness. As part of the Harris Federation, we have strong values which help to define our culture and how we do things. Our commitment to academic excellence, our determination to maintain strong values and to uphold the highest standards of behavior, and our care and support of our students are all embedded. Our curriculum continues to develop in breadth and rigor. For the vast majority of our students, a broad curriculum offer of strong academic provision is appropriate. For a small number of students, there is support available for a more refined range of options, including vocational routes as appropriate to the needs of individual students. Our approach to learning enables students to see the relevance of their learning and experiences to the wider world. We try to give students as many different experiences and opportunities as we can – to broaden their horizons so that they begin to understand and engage with different cultures, ideas and countries. We offer a wide range of activities and trips beyond the classroom each year and regularly survey students to ensure we are providing for their needs and their requests. Also, our specialisms are a vibrant and fundamental part of our academy life and we participate regularly in Federation activities, our students working in collaboration with other high-attaining academies and enjoying a close relationship with our partner boys’ school. We want our students to become thoughtful, caring, resilient young women whose aims are high, who believe in the importance of being life-long learners, who are equipped to lead their generation, who recognize that anything is possible, and who always strive to achieve their personal best. We encourage them to be studious, articulate, and innovative team players who can adapt effectively to the many roles life will demand of them both now and in the future. We hope that each of our students will leave the academy with genuine choices available to them. We believe that further education is a natural and immediate next step for most students but whatever each young person decides to do, we want them to be equipped to be excellent in it. Our growing sixth form works in close partnership with Harris Boys’ Academy East Dulwich and federation with the Harris Sixth Form, which has Harris Westminster as part of its expanding provision, meaning that we can offer a top-class educational experience to every student, including our very highest attainers who are aiming for Oxbridge places. We offer a broad and balanced curriculum throughout the academy, providing students with a wide range of subjects. Our Key Stage 3 provision is largely covered during years 7 and 8 with many subjects commencing GCSE courses at the beginning of, or during, year 9. Other than the RE and non-Science component of Sex Education, all National Curriculum subjects are statutory and we cannot allow withdrawal based on religious grounds. We offer our first set of options to students during Year 8 in readiness for them to commence their GCSE studies in Year 9. We offer a wide range of options to students and then commit to run the most heavily selected courses, aiming to give as many students as possible their first choices. Sometimes this leads to double groups in some subjects.
  6. Welcome to Dulwich College, a vibrant community which comprises DUCKS, our co-educational Kindergarten and Infants’ School (6 months to Year 2), our Junior School for boys from Year 3 to Year 6, and our Senior School for boys from Year 7 to Year 13. Our Senior School is made up of three schools: the Lower School (Year 7 and Year 8), the Middle School (Year 9, Year 10, and Year 11), and the Upper School (Year 12 and Year 13). Dulwich has a distinguished tradition of inspired teaching and genuine scholarship it benefits from historic buildings and green open spaces in a delightful environment. Boys proceed from Dulwich to the most competitive of universities, in the UK and the world, and thereafter into all the major professions, with a high number choosing to work in Medicine, Engineering, and the Law. But we are also alert to the changing nature of work in the 21st century we expect those who leave us to take up several jobs not yet dreamt of and to have more than one career or vocation. The College has a long-standing reputation for producing some of the finest actors, musicians, sportsmen, and writers we foresee a future in which our students go on to entrepreneurial, technological, or cybernetic and innovative enterprises. Our primary duty is to ensure that all our pupils are engaged in good learning, both in the classroom and beyond it both in working towards examined syllabuses and in their free learning. Our objectives are: to ensure that all our pupils feel equally secure and valued, to offer academic challenges that enable each pupil to realize his potential, to provide sporting, cultural, charitable, and adventurous engagement for all our pupils to enjoy and through which they can learn to work co-operatively and to lead, to nurture a supportive community that encourages a sense of social responsibility. It is also our responsibility to enable Alleynians to be thoroughly well prepared for the challenges of the 21st century. This is a challenging Mission Statement. Our responsibility is to ensure that we fulfill our aims and build on our achievements to enable current and future Alleynians to be well prepared for the challenges of life in the 21st century. Dulwich College International is a family of schools. “The Dulwich Commonwealth of Schools” - with seven full International Schools and two International High Schools in Asia". Dulwich College has close involvement with its international colleges and schools determined through an exclusive worldwide charter agreement with Dulwich College Management International which has led to the establishment of several overseas schools and programs, taking the Dulwich name, ethos, and best practice out into the wider world. Currently, more than 7000 students are benefiting from a Dulwich education overseas. Four Dulwich Colleges have been established in China (two in Shanghai, in Pudong and Puxi, and one each in Beijing and Suzhou), one in Seoul, South Korea, and one in Singapore. The latest addition to the family, Dulwich College Yangon, has recently started accepting students in Myanmar. These seven schools are all co-educational and principally cater to the expatriate community. In addition to the international schools, two High Schools have been established in China (in Suzhou and Zhuhai), in conjunction with prestigious Chinese schools, to teach the IGCSE and A-Level curriculum to Chinese pupils who are aiming for top universities in the UK, USA and elsewhere. Dulwich College has its own Outdoor Centre in the heart of the Brecon Beacons. All boys in Years 4 and 5 go away for four or five days respectively with their Form in the Summer Term. Whilst there, they take on various physical challenges such as rock climbing, abseiling, rock hopping, bushcraft, and mountain walking, along with work to support their geography studies. The activities seek to develop the boys’ resilience and perseverance as well as their sense of teamwork. Also, the boys have a chance to be away from home in a secure environment, learning many vital life skills such as being responsible for their belongings, stepping out of their comfort zone, and learning to live happily with others even if they do not do things your way. Most of all, it provides boys with the opportunity to have great fun and to take away memories that will stay with them for the rest of their lives.
  7. Our Academy opened in September 2014 to meet significant demand from East Dulwich families for new primary places. We started with a Reception cohort and currently have children in year groups from Reception to Year 3 and will continue to grow by a year group at a time. We moved into our new building in September 2016, providing a bright and modern space for learning. Children lie at the heart of what we do at Harris Primary East Dulwich. We are a happy, ambitious, and inclusive school, reflecting the rich diversity of families in our area. We were delighted in May 2017 when Ofsted judged us to be 'outstanding in all areas. At Harris Primary East Dulwich, we aim to make learning irresistible, ensuring children develop a genuine, life-long, love of learning and that every child flourishes. We do this by providing the best possible education for all of our pupils. We believe that we can provide the very best opportunities for every single child in the school through our vision of ‘Achieving Success Together' which is underpinned by our ‘Keys to Success. We pride ourselves on providing a vibrant learning environment that nurtures and supports children. We encourage our pupils to be responsible for their learning, to grow in confidence, and become independent. The Philosophy for Children (P4C) program is a key feature of our school and the work that we do to prepare our children for their rights and responsibilities as global citizens. In recognition of our work in this area, we were awarded Level 1 of UNICEF's Rights Respecting School Award in July 2017. We offer an exciting and engaging creative curriculum where teachers and pupils work together to ensure high-quality learning experiences that enable every pupil to achieve their very best. Harris Federation works together at Harris Primary East Dulwich in a culture of collaboration and support, committed to providing a calm and stimulating environment. Mutual respect amongst and between adults and children is an integral part of our culture, where everyone is valued. We believe that these things all contribute to the warm and welcoming atmosphere, which so many visitors comment on when coming to Harris Primary East Dulwich. Working with parents/carers is an essential prerequisite to helping us achieve our aims as we believe that good strong partnerships, coupled with quality teaching and learning and high expectations at all times, will undoubtedly help children achieve their very best, lead to great achievements, promote good citizenship and prepare pupils well for the next stages of their lives. Our mission of 'Achieving Success Together encapsulates our determination to provide an outstanding education for every child, regardless of ability, background, or culture. At Harris Primary Academy East Dulwich we have high aspirations and ambitions for our children and there is a driving determination to ensure that all pupils reach their full potential. Our core purpose is to provide all pupils with high-quality learning experiences that lead to high levels of progress and attainment. Our values at Harris Primary Academy are encapsulated in our 'Keys to Success, which in turn encapsulates the key qualities and behaviors we develop in Harris Primary Academy East Dulwich children, which will not only create a happy school with good relationships and effective learning but will also prepare them for adult life. These are: Determination Respect Integrity Responsibility Community Spiritedness Curiosity Self-control Conscientiousness Our children are taught in line with the expectations that are set out in the National Curriculum. English, Mathematics, R.E., Music, and P.E. are generally taught as discrete subjects. All the remaining subjects are taught through our thematic curriculum, which is a stimulating topic-based approach to learning. In addition to this, children are taught Mandarin as a Modern Foreign Language alongside furthering their Spanish learning from last year. Our thematic curriculum has been designed to ensure rigorous learning of knowledge and the development of skills which has been mapped to the 2014 National Curriculum to ensure comprehensive coverage of national expectations. It is delivered through half-termly Imaginative Learning Projects which provide a rich menu of exciting and motivating learning activities that make creative links between all aspects of our children’s learning. At Harris Primary Academy East Dulwich, we support our pupils to develop the character attributes, traits, and behaviors that we believe will help to underpin success in school and beyond, both now and in their future lives. We call these the East Dulwich Keys to Success and we believe these are the ‘keys to unlocking future success. At HPAD we have agreed on a set of character attributes or ‘keys’, and the focus on developing these in our pupils is at the core of our ethos at Harris Primary Academy East Dulwich – it underpins everything we do from our curriculum to our approach to behavior management.
  8. Dulwich Hamlet has been at the heart of the local community since its foundation in 1897. More than a century later, and has educated many thousands of children from the surrounding area, our school has become integral to village life and a cornerstone of the community. We strive to maintain this special place in the future of Dulwich. Now a popular and well oversubscribed junior school in the London Borough of Southwark, our reputation for educational excellence and as champions of outstanding learning through innovative, creative education is widely known. We are particularly proud of our musical tradition, with every child taught to compose, perform, listen to, appraise and appreciate music. We have developed and nurtured many young musical talents and provide many opportunities for pupils to perform and demonstrate their musicality. Our highly enriched, 'glittering' curriculum is based on strong artistic approaches to curriculum design, robust subject knowledge, and an exceptional commitment to ensuring that every child's needs are met. We promote a positive, energetic, and caring atmosphere in which children feel safe and secure and want to come to school. We are dedicated to equality and opportunity where all children and adults are respected. Knowledge, skills, attitudes, and values are developed to prepare the children for their next stage of learning and enable them to be successful in their community. We expect everyone to develop and show a sense of responsibility and self-discipline whether alone, together, at work, or play and promote positive behavior management strategies. The school buildings are constantly updated to ensure pupils are offered the very latest learning environments. We have a suite of dedicated music rooms, a library, design technology, and cookery rooms, and a well-equipped Mac suite. Our two playgrounds have a range of challenging play structures, table tennis, an astroturfed court, and a new 'Air Gym'. Our Burbage building has a covered veranda that children are free to use for reading and play and a 'secret garden' maintained and developed by pupils. Outstanding learning, within a glittering curriculum, where everyone matters. At Dulwich Hamlet Junior School all pupils are provided with outstanding learning experiences that lead to consistently outstanding levels of pupil achievement. We follow an 'enriched' National Curriculum, ensuring that all government standards are met whilst offering a wide range of experiences to extend pupils' understanding of themselves and their world. All children take part in regular class assemblies and our Christmas performance. Children in our ensembles and choir perform concerts both in and outside of school throughout the year, and Year 6 pupils take part in original drama production in the summer term. We offer a wide range of extracurricular after-school clubs for pupils throughout the year, ranging from different types of sports and dance to art activities, cookery, and even a magic club. All year groups enjoy a range of visits to galleries, museums, theatres, and parks. In Year 5 children enjoy a residential adventure trip to Swanage Bay in Dorset, and Year 6 travel to northern France for a week in the spring term.
  9. In all we do we aim to display... Love, Kindness, Joy, Self-Control, and Faithfulness. Our Christian values permeate the life of the school. As we go through the day the children and adults aim to live out these values, deepening their meaning and showing them in many practical ways. We ensure that diversity and difference are celebrated. Each week we spend time together as a school celebrating those children who have particularly shown these values in their attitude and behavior at school. We celebrate the children being punctual and having overall good attendance too and a prize is given for best punctuality and also best attendance. The Reception classes follow the Early Years Foundation Stage Curriculum. Your child will mostly be taught through games and play. The areas of learning are: Communication and language Physical development Personal, social, and emotional development Literacy Mathematics Understanding the world Expressive arts and design We follow the National Curriculum 2014. The curriculum has been mapped out across Years One and Two and each term we follow a topic that helps to scaffold the learning. Children develop quickly in the early years, and early years practitioners aim to do all they can to help children have the best possible start in life. Children have a right, spelled out in the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child, to a provision that enables them to develop their personalities, talents, and abilities irrespective of ethnicity, culture or religion, home language, family background, learning difficulties, disabilities or gender. This guidance helps adults to understand and support each child’s development pathway. Children are born ready, able, and eager to learn. They actively reach out to interact with other people, and in the world around them. Development is not an automatic process, however. It depends on each unique child having opportunities to interact in positive relationships and enabling environments. From Reception to Year 2 we use a wonderful resource called Numicon which enables the children to build an understanding of the concept of number. We use the Letters and Sounds scheme for teaching phonics. We find this a systematic program and a great basis for teaching children the phonics children require for reading and writing. We use our teaching expertise and other resources to bring these lessons to life whilst following a format for teaching that enables all children to make progress. We use several reading schemes and a series of books. For Guided Reading in class, we plan mainly from the Rigby Star and Big Cat series of books. 10. 11. View full school
  12. View full school
  13. Our campus is situated in a purpose-designed building just south of the Han River in the centrally located Seocho District. After opening in 2010 with 223 students we have steadily expanded our role to accommodate over 600 students from the Nursery to Year 13 age groups (ages 3 to 18 years). At Dulwich College Seoul, we aim to make education a memorable experience for your children. The College offers a friendly and intimate learning environment where we aim for all students to be nurtured, challenged, and inspired. It is important to me that all our families become part of a close-knit community, both within our College and as part of the ever-expanding Dulwich family worldwide. Education is a partnership between the school and home, so these links are vital in supporting your children through their formative Primary and Senior School years. Anything we do at the College will always focus on maximizing the learning opportunities, welfare, and happiness of our students. Dulwich College Seoul is an inspiring place in which to study, being home to learners from many different countries and continents. We actively harness this diversity and teach our students to value and respect the wealth of cultures, religions, and traditions that make our school such an enriching place for your children. Our students deserve success and it is our responsibility to help them realize it. True happiness and future achievement depend upon being comfortable with oneself and upon standing out from the crowd, not simply blending in with it. Success comes in many forms but is not achieved without the effort and stamina that comes naturally to some but not to others. This clear vision - to create the best schools in the world so our students make a positive difference - guides the decisions we make as a family of schools. Our schools, founded in 2003 by parents who wanted the best for their children, have always and will continue to put our students first. We use the strength of our network to continue to pioneer and innovate in all aspects of the organization – from curricula and educational spaces to events and technology. Our students are already among the world’s best, and our young alumni, who are all still under 30, are already beginning to make a difference as they enter the worlds of medicine, law, business, technology, the arts, and public service. We can’t wait to see what they’ll do. Dulwich College Seoul was the fourth to join the Dulwich College International (DCI) family of schools, opening its doors in 2010. The College is made up of over 650 students from age 3 to age 18, with over forty different nationalities represented in our diverse student body. Our links to Dulwich College, founded in 1619, are strong, and we collaborate closely with the other schools in the network to encourage an international outlook and create an extended community where academic ability is fostered, creativity is valued, and diversity is celebrated. We are proud to share a common heritage with all the schools in the DCI network, and equally value the traditions, unique to our school, that we have created since we opened. Dulwich College Seoul educates children from age 3 to 18, and English is the language of instruction. Children up to age 5 follow the Early Years Foundation Stage, and from Year 1 to Year 9 they follow the National Curriculum of England and Wales, which is enhanced to meet the needs of our international student body. In Year 10 they begin the IGCSE (International General Certificate of Secondary Education), a rigorous two-year course that requires students to take a broad range of subjects covering maths and sciences, English and foreign languages, and the humanities. It culminates in exams at the end of Year 11 and prepares students well for the two-year International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IBDP) starting in Year 12. Being part of a network allows our schools to work together, leveraging their talent and resources to put on events, forge internal and external relationships, and share experiences. This exposes our students and staff to a rich and varied choice of experiences that individual schools could not offer on their own. By our group’s relationships with leading educational and artistic institutions, Dulwich College International students perform soliloquies under the tutelage of actors from the Royal Shakespeare Company, sing with the Vienna Boys’ Choir, and work with the innovative musicians from the Berklee College of Music in Boston. They take an active part in group sporting, artistic, intellectual, and leadership events, such as the Diversity series, the Dulwich Festival of Music, the Science and Art Photo Competition, the Shakespeare Festival, the Mike Gatting Cricket Festival, the Shackleton Lectures, and the Student Leadership Conference. They learn about the importance of giving back through community service, and as many of these projects are brought under the umbrella of the Dulwich International Schools Foundation, their opportunities will expand further. They enjoy the benefits of the extensive, structured program of professional learning that we provide to all our staff members. They will reap the benefits of our STEAM curriculum in our SE21 Studios, as well as our pioneering Mandarin program, which addresses the unique challenges of teaching this complex and wonderful language. With group support, we have made a huge investment of time in both these programs, which are so crucial to preparing our children for the future. Our network attracts leading and innovative academic leaders. The Dulwich College International Schools Team support the academic teams at each of our schools, giving them the advantage of their specialist knowledge, ensuring consistency in the content and quality of our teaching, and spreading innovations they may observe at one school throughout the group. And finally, our network strengthens community bonds. Students from different Dulwich College International schools may get to know each other one year through a group event, and find themselves classmates the next when one of them has moved from, say, Dulwich College in Singapore to Dulwich College Shanghai. Students facing the challenges of an international move will make a much smoother transition when their new school is so familiar. With many of our teachers transferring within the family of schools as well, we can keep the benefits of their knowledge and experience within the group. View full school
  14. View full school
  15. View full school

View full school
