We are a two-form entry church school set in the heart of Sydenham, South East London, where we serve a diverse community. We are passionate about learning and enjoy challenging our children to think creatively in lots of different ways. Our children are supported by a fantastic staff team who are dedicated to educating the whole child. Our School Council is about making a change and a difference. We are democratic so we bring our ideas and make suggestions to Mrs. Davies to help make the school calmer and to help with learning. Each class elects two representatives (reps) to be part of the group and they wear a School Council badge. We take it in turns and membership changes every term. We discuss a range of topics, such as The school values How to care for the environment How to take a role in our school community and the local community. The School Council also likes to think of ways to help others as well and how the school can raise money for charities or school funds. We have raised money for the charities Water Aid and Christian Aid and have also encouraged the school to take part in Red Nose Day. The School Council led the school in the 20 is Plenty campaign, when the whole school walked with banners in the local area to ask drivers to keep their speed to 20mph, We think of ways to keep the school safe and healthy: we like to encourage the school community to pick up litter as well as to keep the toilets clean and we have made posters to remind everyone. The School Council has also helped to set the PSHCE curriculum, including the values of the school. We meet alternate weeks with Mr. Black and Mrs. Miles, the Learning Mentors. Welcome to St. Austin’s School. The first school in St. Austin’s Parish was set up in the crypt of St Austin’s church as long ago as 1838. There have been many changes in education since then but we remain a Catholic school serving Catholic families mainly, but not exclusively, in the former Canonical Parishes of St Austin’s and St. Bernadette, part of the newly formed Canonical parish of St. Wilfrid’s. Aubyn’s School, a co-educational independent school for 500 children aged 3 to 13. Situated in the beautiful surroundings of Woodford Green and Epping Forest and easily accessible from the main thoroughfares of London, St. Aubyn’s is set in eight acres of grounds. There is no formal learning support, but pupils are monitored closely for potential issues which could affect learning. Relevant information is then forwarded to the Head of Additional Learning, should there be a need to follow up concern at a later date. As part of their journey through EYFS, pupils will be supported as necessary in line with their attainment towards EYFS goals. From Year 1 onwards, support is delivered, in the first instance, by class and subject teachers who use differentiated planning to meet individual needs. After a period of targeted differentiation and monitoring, especially at the start of the school year, a need for additional support may be identified. From Years 1 to 5, additional support is provided by teaching assistants. In the Senior School, additional support is delivered by a designated Higher Level TA. The Head of Additional Learning coordinates this provision in consultation with Heads of Department and also takes direct teaching responsibility for groups throughout the school as required. Learning extension is given to those pupils who are identified as being more able. More Able pupils are those whose abilities in a subject area are significantly and consistently above the expectation for their age. There are more able learners in every year group in every school. The DCSF suggests that around 10% of every school population should be identified as More Able. As a school, we are free to determine the size of our More Able population but we should be able to justify this in terms of the provision made for the identified group and subsequent improvements in standards. As a school, we endeavor to celebrate every child and ensure they reach their full potential during their time here. St Asaph VP Church in Wales Controlled Infant School is situated in the Cathedral city of St Asaph in the beautiful Vale of Clwyd in North Wales. We have a Christian ethos and strong links with our beautiful Cathedral where we hold a monthly service and our Nativity service at Christmas. Our school was founded by Thomas Vowler Short, who was Bishop of St Asaph between 1846 & 1870. He was responsible for establishing two Church schools of which the VP was one, built in 1863 for £1,800. The original infant school was sited in what is now the Cathedral car park. Initially, our school building accepted children aged 7-14 after they had completed their time at the Infant school. The schools were later combined into what is now the VP Infant School with children attending from ages 4-14 and later ages 4-11. In the 1970s it was decided to build a new junior school on the Ashly Court estate and this was opened in 1977 which resulted in the VP School becoming an infant school for ages 3-7. May we take this opportunity to emphasize that you are always welcome to visit the school to discuss any aspect of school life and that ‘my door is always open.’ Security, and your child’s safety, is our priority. Our main security gate remains locked at all times during the school day from 9 am. When closed, access can only be gained by speaking to the school office or Playgroup via an intercom. The gate is monitored at all times by a security camera. If you wish to speak to the Headteacher or a member of staff before 8.50 am, please come to the main door and ring the bell. Nursery parents collecting their child at 11:30 are asked to remain behind the gate. The gate will be opened by a member of the Nursery staff when the children are ready to leave. The main school door and Breakfast Club/Playgroup door are secured by keypad locks and the Nursery/Reception entrance has no means of being opened from outside. View full school

St. Anthony's is an academic IAPS preparatory school for boys between the ages of 4 and 13. It is Roman Catholic but welcomes boys of other faiths. The majority of boys transfer to leading Independent schools including Ampleforth, City of London, Eton, Harrow, Highgate, Mill Hill, St. Paul's, Sevenoaks, University College, Westminster. The school has a family atmosphere, relaxed and fairly informal, but with a rigorous approach to learning. However, it is not a ‘hot house’ and great care is taken to ensure that pupils feel happy and at ease in the school environment. St. Anthony’s retains a slightly ‘bohemian’ ambiance. Pupils may be performing Shakespeare one day and making their avant-garde films the next. Academic success is achieved within an educational framework that places a strong emphasis on the enjoyment of learning and personal development. St. Anthony's school was founded by Richard Patton during the Victorian period in Eastbourne. It moved to its Hampstead location in 1952 and has been managed by the Alpha Plus Group since 2009. St. Anthony's is an academic school but it seeks to achieve considerably more than academic success. It aims to support the development of the whole person. School in general, and learning in particular, should be an enjoyable experience. Enthusiastic staff and a broad curriculum contribute towards the achievement of this goal. The school readily supports applications to boarding schools, but the majority of boys transfer to independent London day schools via entrance exams set by the schools themselves, or via the Common Entrance examination which is set at thirteen years of age. Over the years the school has achieved an impressive record of success, including scholarships, at a wide range of public schools including Ampleforth, City of London, Downside, Eton, Harrow, Highgate, Mill Hill, Oundle, St. Paul's, University College, Westminster. After-school extension classes are offered for both scholarship candidates and for those interested in adding greater depth to their studies.
