St. Francis’ Catholic Primary School is a happy school that holds Christ at the center of all we do. We are proud to be located in the heart of Stratford near the Olympic Park.

St. Francis’ Catholic Primary School is committed to meeting the needs of children with Special Needs and disabilities (SEND). We have high expectations of all our children and we aim to achieve this through the removal of barriers to learning and participation. The new code of practice. Francis’ Catholic Primary School is a two-form entry school that caters to pupils with and without special educational needs and disabilities. Presently, the SEN needs in school include pupils with language and communication needs, hearing impairments, dyslexia, autism, ADHD, and pupils with social, emotional, behavioral, and physical needs.
The child’s welfare is of paramount importance. Our school will establish and maintain an ethos where pupils feel secure, are encouraged to talk, are listened to, and are safe. Children at our school will be able to talk freely to any member of staff at our school if they are worried or concerned about something. Everyone who comes into contact with children and their families has a role to play in safeguarding children. We recognize that staff at our school play a particularly important role as they are in a position to identify concerns early and provide help for children to prevent concerns from escalating. All staff is advised to maintain an attitude of ‘it could happen here where safeguarding is concerned. When concerned about the welfare of a child, staff members must always act in the best interests of the child.
Throughout our curriculum, we will provide activities and opportunities for children to develop the skills they need to identify risks and stay safe. This will also be extended to include material that will encourage our children to develop essential life skills. These opportunities are developed and embedded throughout the curriculum and are highlighted through focus weeks such as Anti-Bullying Week and e-Safety Week. It is the responsibility of every member of staff, volunteer, and regular visitor to our school to ensure that they carry out the requirements of this policy and, at all times, work in a way that will safeguard and promote the welfare of all of the pupils at this school. This includes the responsibility to provide a safe environment in which children can learn.
