Position Summary The Processing Technician is responsible for manufacturing bulk blend product and must be competent for most job categories required in the Processing Area. The Process Technician is required to have the knowledge to perform set-up, operation, tear-down, cleaning, following cGMP’s and SOP’s. THIS IS A 12HR NIGHT SHIFT ROLE. HOURS ARE: 6:30pm – 7:00am Position ResponsibilitiesThe Processing Technician is responsible for the quality and quantity of actual batch of raw materials to produce a finished bulk product by product formulation and specific manufacturing procedures. Processing Technician is required to learn the operations of many different types of equipment such as: Mills, Grinding Equipment, Conveying Equipment, Mixing Equipment, Tableting Presses, and related equipment to compound and process raw materials to make tablets, ointments, creams, liquids, and powdered products. The Processing Technician is required to observe product manufacturing and implement pre-determined control factors to ensure product processing remains within acceptable control limits at all times. The Processing Technician is required to maintain production records, perform operations as defined by step-by-step manufacturing procedures and complete production orders when batches are completed. Processing operators must be able to participate in a team environment. Maintain equipment and work area in neat, clean, and orderly conditions at all times. Position ResponsibilitiesTechnicians are required to use tools and dis-assemble and re-assemble different machinery. Performs set-up and prepares line for packaging of various packaged products to include varying designs, components and packaging equipment. Provides packaging supplies and bulk product as required to feed packaging machines and change as necessary (i.e. bottles, labels, and caps). Continually observes product and materials used and rejects any, substandard materials or packages not in conformance with FDA-cGMP’s. Documents, monitors and maintains proper fill levels as based on the product specifications. Operates packaging line according to Set-Up Sheets, SPI, SOP’s and other required and instructed procedures. Observes operation of equipment and lubricates, makes minor mechanical repairs or requests mechanics assistance as needed. Assists mechanic with packaging line changeover. Disassembles equipment at end of production runs and cleans in accordance with Chattem procedures to comply with FDA- cGMP’s.
