    The Defense Group at Leidos currently has an opening for a ATOM Training Specialist who possesses at least a DoD Secret clearance. This position will support the Warfighter Readiness requirements providing Subject Matter Expertise (SME) in the design, development, delivery and maintenance of training curriculum for Warfighter Readiness systems at Fort Eisenhower, Georgia. Primary Responsibilities This position will be responsible for supporting Systems Engineering, Integration and Test (SEIT) activities for space vehicles and space-related systems within a digital engineering environment. Primary responsibilities will include requirements and verification management, integration and interface activities, performance of trade studies, safety analysis, risk management, documentation of test plans and procedures, and test execution at local test sites. The T2 Tracking Layer effort will provide the capability to provide global, persistent indications, detection, warning, tracking, and identification of advanced missile threats, including hypersonic missile systems. Primary Responsibilities We are seeking skilled and experienced Software Engineer to join our dynamic and innovative software development team. As the software engineering lead, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the capability, quality and reliability of our software and hardware products. You will work closely with our systems engineering and quality assurance teams to design and implement spacecraft flight software and firmware in a highly automated DevSecOps CI/CD environment. Basic Qualifications - Coordinate software efforts across multiple programs including on-orbit embedded software, ground support software, test equipment software, and software and hardware in the loop simulators. - Support proposals by generating technical solutions and estimates of labor and material. - Lead development of embedded software and firmware for satellite payload programs. - Work with the engineering team to integrate space hardware and software, including camera drive electronics, FPGA processing boards, power systems, DSP/ARM/PowerPC boards, PCI & VPX busses, stepper motor controllers, health, and status circuits, cryocoolers, and spacecraft data interfaces. - Conduct design trades of complexity and performance between the payload’s optical front end, algorithm implementation, firmware architecture, and the software architecture. - Investigate potential processing architectures which may incorporate GPUs, CPUs, FPGAs, SoC, and other cutting-edge technologies. - Participate and lead in all phases of the effort from detailed requirements flow down, trade studies, processing architecture design, hardware selection, firmware and software development, payload integration and test, spacecraft I&T, and on-orbit support. - Conduct testing, characterization, and analysis of electro-optical systems. - Collaborate with signal processing experts, software leads, and FPGA designers. - Mentor Junior software engineers in good engineering practices. - CI/CD Integration: Experience with continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD) tools like Jenkins Agents or GitLab Runners. - Security Testing: Familiarity with security testing tools and practices to identify vulnerabilities in software and static code analysis. - Support Test Automation: Proficiency using industry-standard tools and frameworks such as Python, Java, Jython, Xray for Jira or similar technologies. - Languages: Strong proficiency in languages such as Python, Java, C and C++ with the ability to write, maintain, and troubleshoot code. - Version Control: Proficient in using version control systems (e.g., GitLab, SVN) to manage source code in a defined branching structure. - Debugging: Strong debugging skills to identify and analyze software defects and issues in a systematic manner. - Agile/Scrum: Working knowledge of Agile Principles and the Scrum framework - Quality Assurance Practices: Understanding of software quality assurance best practices and the ability to contribute to the improvement of software processes. - Documentation: Strong documentation skills to create and maintain software architecture related documentation and models. - Communication: Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, to collaborate with cross-functional teams and report on test progress and results. - Problem Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities to troubleshoot and address complex testing challenges. - Bachelor's Degree in Software or Computer Engineering and 12+ years’ experience or Master’s Degree with 10+ years of experience.
