EduCativ Posted August 27, 2021 Share Posted August 27, 2021 Planned as a university center in the Five Year Plan for 1980–85, these intentions were revised in 1984 and an Ecole Normale Superieure d'Enseignement Technique (ENSET) and an Institute of Engineering Mechanics (INGM) were created in 1986. The ENSET consisted of 314 student teachers trained by 23 teaching staff. Courses were started in Exact Sciences, Technology and Computer Science in 1988, in Engineering and Mechanical Engineering and Electrical Engineering in 1990, Electronics in 1995, a Bachelor of Science Economics in 1991, and a BA in Arabic Language and Literature in 1994. The university degree applied (DEUA) was awarded in disciplines such as Mechanical Engineering and Electrical Engineering in 1988, the DEUA Civil Engineering 1989, DEUA Computer Management in 1990, and DEUA in Industrial Chemistry in 1996. Laghouat, in Algeria, lies at the crossing point of major east-west and north-south routes in the southern foothills of the Saharan Atlas Mountains, giving it the name "Gateway to the Desert". It is located 400 kilometers (250 mi) south of the capital Algiers. Promoted as a university town in the program of decentralization to the Wilaya, training institutions were established in Laghouat in 1986.
