  1. The International School of Turin is a not-for-profit, private school open to students from all over the world. IST offers a complete academic program in English from Early Childhood to Grade 12 through the International Baccalaureate Primary Years Programme (PYP), Middle Years Programme (MYP), and Diploma Programme (DP). The school's curriculum is international and leads to the completion of either the IST High School Diploma or the International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma. The IB Diploma is recognized by the Italian Ministry of Education and is legally equivalent to the Italian Maturità. The school is registered in Italy and has been recognized by the Regione Piemonte. Our faculty is committed to delivering our programs that help our students to grow and develop as learners and as people. Schools are all about people and relationships and learning relies on a positive and caring learning environment. IST values a family atmosphere where students, teachers, and parents work together and share a sense of community. IST is a non-profit international school that has served local and expatriate families since 1963. IST has been accredited by the Council of International Schools and the New England Association of Schools and Colleges since 1984. We are proud to be an authorized IB World School, providing a continuous IB education through the IB Primary Years Programme (PYP), IB Middle Years Programme (MYP), and IB Diploma Programme (DP) frameworks to students from Nursery to Grade 12. Our guiding statements provide the purpose, direction, and framework for decision-making at IST. The IST Mission asks us every day to inspire lifelong learning and international mindedness, empowering each student to reach their potential. Today, we educate 500 students from over 50 nationalities. IST students develop and attain the necessary knowledge, understanding, skills, and attitudes to be successful as they move through our school and life beyond graduation. Everyone in our community learns. We define learning as a process of making meaning through inquiry, thinking, experiences, feedback, and reflection. In the early 1960s, members of the foreign community residing in Turin sensed the need for a school that could provide an international education for their children. In 1963, a small group of employees from American and other internationally interested companies in Turin like FIAT, Michelin, and Westinghouse decided to organize schools with an American curriculum. Classes were originally set up in space at the Caselle Airport in Turin, then moved shortly thereafter to a small building on Via Cottolengo in the center of Turin. The school defined its original purpose as to offer international instruction using a North American model for the children of the foreign community residing in Turin. The school had an enrolment of ten children. Within five years the school had grown to 60 students representing twelve different nationalities and the decision was taken to move the school to expanded quarters at the Villa Virginia, near Superga, so that Middle School classes could be added, which it did in 1966. The school continued to seek qualifications from North American, European, and International Baccalaureate institutions. It maintains joint and full accreditation with the New England Association of Colleges and Schools (NEASC) and the Council of International Schools in Europe (CIS). In May 2006 ACAT-IST obtained authorization to offer the International Baccalaureate Primary Years Programme (IB-PYP). In the summer of 2008, the school obtained authorization to offer the International Baccalaureate Middle Years Programme (IB-MYP) making it the first school in Italy to offer all three IB programs and classifying IST as an IB World School.
  2. The Italian Campus was founded in March 2004. In Italy, ESCP Europe serves both students with Masters Programmes, and the business community, with a complete offer of executive education, applied research, and entrepreneurship services. The headquarters in Torino became an essential opportunity for our business school to move further to the companies on the Italian territory, which found in ESCP Europe Torino Campus a valuable partner for the training of their talents. The ESCP Europe Torino campus presents four distinctive characteristics. It is a young campus with the enthusiasm of a start-up and the phase of the healthy development of successful initiatives. Entrepreneurship, one of the critical values in which Torino campus believes in. This is fundamental for both; on the one hand, training managers and entrepreneurs able to make decisions also under challenging situations thanks to acquired skills and competences. On the other hand, by sustaining the development of entrepreneurial activities started by our students and alumni. Strong links with the business community are, for sure, one of the critical characteristics of the Italian Campus (over half of our activities are with the corporate world). This leads to a benefit for students, who can take advantage of the relationships of the School in the development of their academic and extra-academic curricula, for example, in terms of company projects, internships, applied research studies, entrepreneurial opportunities, and contributions of managers and professionals during the year. Academically, we offer you the highest international standards of ESCP Europe and its world-class certifications: EQUIS, AACSB, and AMBA. In particular, we aim at preparing the next ruling class, a community of exceptional people trained to be capable of taking managerial decisions on behalf of their companies and institutions. With this purpose in mind, our didactics are centered on preparing you as a future decision-maker in a complex economic context. This means providing you with the necessary knowledge and, more importantly, the skills and attitudes required of such a role. Action learning has proven to be a robust methodology. We adopt it as much as possible by including in our didactics case studies and real-life situations, which can make you practice the role of decision-maker. This approach will provide you with excitement and learning opportunities. Teamwork is, therefore, another critical element of the equation, which you will practice from your very first class. To discover the many other reasons why the ESCP Europe is an established reality in the world of the management education and why it is worth doing a good experience in the Torino campus, we invite you to visit us, during the Opening Ceremony of the Academic Year or to the Grand Summer Gala at the end of the year. 4. The University of Turin is one of the most ancient and prestigious Italian Universities. Hosting about 70.000 students, 4.000 academic, administrative and technical staff, 1800 postgraduate and post-doctoral students and with 120 buildings in different areas in Turin and critical places in Piedmont, the University of Turin can be considered as “city-within-a-city”, promoting culture and producing research, innovation, training, and employment. The University of Turin is today one of the largest Italian Universities, open to international research and training. It carries out scientific research and organizes courses in all disciplines, except for Engineering and Architecture. It is an integral part of the community, acting for reviving urban and suburban areas, promoting cultural interaction, social integration, and development, encouraging dialogue and insight into current realities. Some of the degree courses offered are unique in Italy, such as Military Strategy, Biotechnology, Sport Sciences, Restoration and Conservation (in Venaria). The University of Turin has a remarkable research tradition in traditional subjects such as history, philosophy, law, economics, and medicine. However, it is currently branching out into critical modern sectors, such as food science, social politics, IT, performing arts, and communication sciences. More than 70 university libraries are comprising about two million books: 100.000 are antique volumes. The Botanic Garden and several University Museums such as “Cesare Lombroso” - Criminal Anthropology Museum and “Luigi Rolando” - Human Anatomy Museum are well known. The University takes a close interest in local museums' network, on subjects ranging from Egypt to contemporary Art, and it runs its media, radio, television, and film production units. The University makes an active stand on several social issues, such as the environment, drugs, equal opportunities, and the rights of people with special needs. With around 70,500 students (undergraduate and postgraduate) and more than 3,500 academic and administrative staff, the University of Turin (Unito) in north-west Italy is one of the country’s largest and most prestigious universities. The University, founded in 1404, provides quality higher education and research opportunities. Many Unito graduates have achieved international renown. Today, Unito offers 150 undergraduate and postgraduate degree courses in almost every field of study. A growing number of courses are taught in English, and Italian language tuition is available for incoming students. The University’s 27 departments offer excellent Italian and non-Italian academic staff. Four doctoral schools provide 29 doctoral programs. International and local funding programs, both public and private, support the University’s commitment to innovation and research. Unico is exceptionally aware of its role in the local community and promotes the transfer of research results to the industry through patent licensing and spin-offs, respecting economic, social, and environmental sustainability. Over 3,400 international students and more than 500 agreements with other universities worldwide enhance UniTo’s international dimension. Turin is a lively, people-oriented city and boasts a wide variety of cultural resources: historical buildings, world-class museums and galleries, and numerous exhibitions and fairs. The city’s parks and two rivers and the nearby mountains and lakes provide an excellent leisure environment. View full university
  5. Politecnico di Torino is known both in Italy and abroad as a leading institution to study engineering and architecture. Tradition combines with innovation to make its campus a stimulating environment offering a wealth of opportunities. Our University has around 32,000 students, with 50% from outside the region and about 15% foreign - the highest percentage in Italy. Our degrees are internationally recognized. Students can choose to follow degree courses taught in English or, thanks to our links with some of the most prestigious universities worldwide, undertake periods of study abroad as part of their course. Students choose Politecnico di Torino for its established reputation, being highly selective, and sometimes even "tough." However, we do reward students for merit and provide a strong basis for future career success. Students who are looking for a thorough education that is relevant to the job market or who are interested in research and a multidisciplinary approach will be attracted to what our University has to offer. Graduates from Politecnico of Turin receive an education that goes far beyond technical knowledge. Politecnico di Torino offers a multicultural study environment and has a close relationship with businesses, which share our premises and work with us on many projects allowing students to gain work experience while still at University. The "Cittadella Politecnica" is a new campus area where research, teaching, and training go hand in hand with local and student services as well as financial and cultural activities. It also houses the Business Research Center, where various international companies have established their most advanced research centers, and the Polo Venture Capital provides real opportunities for developing research. The new areas also contain classrooms, study rooms, a canteen, and a sports center which will open shortly. Politecnico di Torino is, therefore, a real research university, where education and research combine to meet the real needs of the local area and economy and, most importantly, those of the students. The structure of the Politecnico di Torino is composed of the University Governing Bodies and by the Teaching, the Scientific and the Administrative areas, according to the model specified in the Statute of 2011, in order to have a shared and efficient management. The structure envisages more Governing Bodies: the Rector, the Academic Senate, the Board of Governors, and the Director-General. Moreover, there are two controlling bodies (the Evaluation Board and the Board of Auditors), Equality, Non-Discrimination, and Anti-Harassment Committee, an University Ombudsman, and an Academic Staff Disciplinary Committee. The Director-General manages and organizes services, instrumental resources, and technical-administrative staff in the University. The administration, supporting all the activities of the University, is composed of areas and services, which are functionally organized according to their action field. View full university
