Ubaya welcomes the dynamic young generation who yearns for high-quality education and technological advancement and has the same idealism, vision, values, and point of view to join the university. Based on its preliminary development plans, admiration of history, the initial aim of establishment, and rapid globalization growth, Ubaya has determined its Vision and Mission. Ubaya Training Center (UTC) is part of the Integrated Outdoor Campus (IOC), widely known as Ubaya campus III. It is located in the Village of Tamiajeng, We care about every need of modern society. Through nature, we try to answer and provide solutions as follows: How students do the outing activity or the learning agenda with the real natural atmosphere How family can relax, enjoy the natural scenery while learning about nature and its ecological system, how retreat and seminar activities could lead to an impressive "Experiential Learning" (Outbound) through certified international standard facilities and equipment and reliable certified instructors. For garden arrangement, UTC promotes a fresh green atmosphere. We flourish a wide variety of plants and flowers to create a more alive and fresh environment. UTC is very concerned with nature, and as an educational institution, we mean to give significant benefits for the development of education in Indonesia. We apply real applications of natural learning through the use of the "Ecosan" system (i.e., the process of producing fertilizer through human faces and urine) on the UTC toilet solar energy unit module that utilizes solar energy to generate electricity crop management home composting and Toga (Family Medicinal Plant) Collection garden. As a University that has been running since September 20, 1960, Widya Mandala Catholic University of Surabaya views that a campus is a place of formation and penungkatan life. The idea of establishing the Catholic Higher Education Foundation has started during World War I around 1914-1919. At that time, many graduates of HBS (Hogere Burger School / High School) were unable to continue their higher education in the Netherlands due to the circumstances and barriers to transport to Europe. Then the 1950s became known as the "Catholic College Awakening Era." In 1958, after the establishment of several Catholic universities in Indonesian cities, Mgr. J. Klooster, CM, as Bishop of Surabaya, established Widya Mandala Foundation. Widya Mandala comes from the ancient Javanese language. Mandala means building or place in the sense not only physical, and Widya means scholar. So Widya Mandala can be interpreted as a place of education for the wise and successful (scholar). Some people also menyderhanakan means Widya Mandala as a place or container of science. Yayasan Widya Mandala Surabaya aims to educate the Indonesian nation's life by organizing, maintaining, and developing universities to form a morally educated and well educated Indonesian human being. September 20, 1960, was designated as the anniversary of Widya Mandala Catholic University of Surabaya (UKWMS). At the time of its establishment, UKWMS has only one faculty and is located on Jalan Dr. Soetomo, Surabaya. There are now ten faculties, postgraduate programs (S2 and S3), and the Secretariat Academy (D3). Activities Widya Mandala Catholic University Surabaya poured in Tri Dharma Higher Education consisting of Education and Teaching, Research, and Community Service. As one of the oldest private universities in Surabaya, UKWMS has four campus buildings to support the teaching and learning process.
