By serving our students effectively, we can intentionally create a learning environment that allows them to focus on their relationship with Christ, develop character, and prepare for a successful career. If you have been a part of the KCU family for very long, you have likely become acquainted with our three C's Christ, Character, and Career. At the heart of KCU is the desire to emulate the life and teachings of Jesus Christ and lead our students in doing the same. Therefore, the Student Services department is committed to providing services that help equip and encourage students in their faith as they come to know Christ more fully, grow in the character of Christ, and prepare for their career. Whether through various counseling services offered within our student support services or dorm devotionals designed to be an integral part of student housing, Christ is the standard by which we serve our student population. In the same way that Jesus serves as our standard for serving the KCU student body. He is also the standard by which we define our expectations for students. As a Christian University, we are committed to being a community of Christians. They display the character of Christ and maintain a lifestyle consistent with His teachings within the word of God. Within our Student Handbook, we have defined these expectations in detail and require that each of our students agree to abide by these guidelines during their time as students at KCU. Rather than viewing these expectations as merely an obligation, we pray that each student would come to embrace these standards as a practice in developing one's character and being shapes into the likeness of Christ. That being said, each student must understand that the University requires adherence to these expectations. Therefore, it must also carry out corrective action if a student's behavior or lifestyle choices are inconsistent with the KCU Student Handbook. In this way, we can promote a living and learning environment on campus that is beneficial for our students and God-honoring. The Career Resource Center at Kentucky Christian University is an employment assistance center committed to serving Kentucky Christian University students. As an intentionally Christian institution, one in which the integration of faith and learning is an explicit goal, we enthusiastically support the need for equipping students for leadership positions in which they can influence individuals, society, and culture. 10. Kentucky Country Day School is an independent, coeducational school with 860 students in grades pre-K through 12. We are located on a beautiful 80-acre campus in eastern Jefferson County. We educate the whole child through a rigorous college-preparatory academic program and a wide variety of athletic, fine arts, and extracurricular opportunities. Small class sizes (average of 16 students) allow our exceptional faculty to get to know every child and ensure that every student is actively engaged with learning. Kentucky Country Day School challenges its students to achieve their highest academic excellence level and grow into honorable men and women of confidence and integrity. We inspire personal growth through a diverse community and participation in arts, athletics, and community service. By doing so, Kentucky Country Day School prepares its students to live successful lives and make meaningful contributions to society. This mission is summed up in our motto: Citizen, Scholar, Steward. Technology is part of daily life for students at KCD. Our focus is on creating meaningful intersections between technology and the curriculum. We believe that the curriculum should drive technology instead of the other way around. We also believe that it is vital to match the right technology with the right age. This means using iPads in the Lower School, Chromebooks and Google Apps in our one-to-one Middle School program, and a one-to-one laptop program in the Upper School that supports both PCs and Macs. KCD was the first school in Louisville to implement a schoolwide STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art & Design, Math) curriculum and support it with our maker space. Known as the KCD Fab Lab, this hands-on fabrication laboratory is home to our robotics program and is equipped with 3D printers, laser and vinyl cutters, and a wide range of shop and machine tools. KCD is committed to building a school community that reflects the diversity of our city. Our students represent a range of races, ethnicities, socioeconomic backgrounds, and many of the world’s major belief systems, including Bahá’í, Buddhism, Christianity, Hinduism, Islam, Judaism, Secularism, and Sikhism. We are a community that strives to appreciate and celebrate our differences, but we are united by one thing: we are all Bearcats. We are actively committed to fostering a socioeconomically diverse community. We awarded $2.5 million in financial aid this year, with an average distribution of $13,030. 26% of our students receive aid. There is a wide range of student groups that celebrate and support diversity. Over the last few years, these groups have included BOLD (Black Outstanding Leaders of Diversity), Culture Club (Desi and Asian Student Affinity Group), Fellowship of Christian Athletes, Fusion (Students of Color Affinity Group), Gay/Straight Alliance, International Students Organization, Multicultural Club, Muslim Students Association, and Union of Jewish Athletes. We believe that KCD offers the most acceptable academic program in the region. The backbone of that program is a rigorous and cohesive college-prep curriculum that balances tradition with innovation. Our students are expected to master a great deal of academic content. They are also challenged to develop the skills, work habits, and character traits essential for success in college and beyond. Our curriculum emphasizes collaborative and project-based learning because we believe that these are the best methods to develop essential 21st-century skills such as communication, collaboration, critical thinking, and creativity. Because of our small class sizes (about 16 students on average), our teachers get to know and respond to students as individuals, allowing them to focus on differentiation in the classroom. Our program is challenging, but students also learn that KCD is a safe place to take risks and stretch their boundaries. View full school

Students should become involved in their career planning during their freshman year. The basis of Kentucky Christian University's Career Service Center is a strong campus-wide vocational theory that understands the need for career development over the students' career/life span. At Kentucky Christian University, you will discover a unique and exciting academic environment as you explore each of our schools and various degree programs. As an intentionally Christian institution, one in which the integration of faith and learning is an explicit goal, we enthusiastically support the need for equipping students for leadership positions in which they can influence individuals, society, and culture. Whether it is in the classroom, utilizing resources in our library, or your dorm completing assigned course work, the academic environment at KCU is vibrant and dynamic, ensuring that our students receive a relevant educational experience that serves to prepare them to excel in our rapidly changing culture. At Kentucky Christian University, the stories that we hear most frequently from our students and alumni are overcoming unique circumstances and exceeding personal expectations. We have found that God always has far greater expectations and far better plans for our lives than we could ever imagine. At KCU, we inspire students to be boundless in their pursuit of God, opening themselves up to a future they may never have expected and equipping them with the knowledge and skills necessary to serve as Christian professionals worldwide. Kentucky Christian University offers a college experience like none other. Sure, we have excellent academic programs taught by professional faculty that allow you to earn a degree in various areas. Yes, we offer competitive tuition; in fact, we are the most affordable private university in the state of Kentucky. Of course, we strive to create a vibrant campus life experience that allows students to meet new people and make the most of their college experience. But doesn't everyone say that? What sets KCU apart from other universities in the way we intentionally invest in our students' lives to see hearts and minds transformed. At KCU, you will grow in your relationship with Christ as you experience an authentic Christian community. You will grow in character as you build real relationships with professors and students, and you will be equipped as a professional in your field and a Christian leader in our culture. 18.
