      About Me

      1. “Achievement through hard work strength through kindness.” Angel Oak Academy is named after the oak tree on Peckham Rye in which artist and poet WILLIAM BLAKE saw his first vision in 1765 – ‘A tree filled with angels, bright angelic wings bespangling every bough like stars.’ For the academy, it references the academic and creative roots of the local area and community whilst symbolizing a protective environment in which children grow, flourish, and sparkle. OUR MISSION: "To offer local children a world-class education". OUR MOTTO: "Achievement through hard work strength through kindness". STEP VALUES: Passion Urgency Positivity Commitment Aspiration OUR AIM: "To invest in the personal, academic and cultural capital of all academicians to ensure that they leave Angel Oak Academy with a range of experiences and knowledge that enables them to engage with all sections of society and community academically, intellectually and socially". Our Key Learning Indicators (KLIs) represent the foundation of our curriculum. As we take a mastery approach to teaching and learning, we teach each of these objectives in great depth, and there is a large amount of subject knowledge and skill which sit behind each one. At Angel Oak, we use Knowledge Organisers to provide children and parents with the key information that pupils will need to know to fully understand their class text. Children are quizzed regularly on these facts to ensure that they are committed to long-term memory. At Angel Oak Academy, we aim to offer excellence and choice to all our children, whatever their ability or needs. We have high expectations of all our children. We aim to achieve this through the removal of barriers to learning and participation. We want all our children to feel that they are a valued part of our school community. Through appropriate curricular provision, we respect the fact that children: Have different educational and behavioral needs and aspirations Require different strategies for learning Acquire, assimilate and communicate information at different rates Need a range of different teaching approaches and experiences Angel Oak Academy firmly believes in developing a strong partnership with parents/carers and that this will enable children and young people with SEND to achieve their potential. The school recognizes that parents/carers have a unique overview of their child’s needs and how best to support them and that this gives them a key role in the partnership. Parents/carers hold key information and have a critical role to play in their children’s education. We aim, to enable every pupil to experience success, to keep an ongoing register of all children whom we consider to have special educational needs, to identify those children as early as possible, assess, record, and regularly review their progress and needs, to provide learning programs geared to their needs, to work collaboratively with parents, other professionals, and support services, to ensure that parents or carers can play their part in supporting their child’s education, to involve the child, to encourage a move from dependent to independent learning. The Core Values are: DEMOCRACY - Pupils will have the opportunity to have their voices heard through our Pupil Parliament Team. MUTUAL RESPECT - Our school ethos and behavior policy revolve around our PUPAC Core Values and pupils have been part of discussions and assemblies related to what this means and how it is shown. TOLERANCE OF THOSE OF DIFFERENT FAITHS AND BELIEFS - This is achieved through enhancing pupils' understanding of their place in a culturally diverse society and by giving them opportunities to experience such diversity. THE RULE OF LAW - The importance of Laws, whether they be those that govern the class, the school, or the country, are consistently reinforced throughout regular school days, as well as when dealing with behavior, through school assemblies and PSHCE. INDIVIDUAL LIBERTY - Within school, pupils are actively encouraged to make choices, knowing that they are in a safe and supportive environment. View full school

      20. In June 1933, Holy Angel Academy (HAA) opened its doors to a modest group of 78 high school students in the Holy Rosary Parish Convent. It was initiated through the joint efforts of the late Don Juan D. Nepomuceno, a known philanthropist/prominent businessman, and Fr. Pedro P. Santos, then parish priest of the town of Angeles and later Archbishop of Nueva Caceres. Its primary purpose was to offer Catholic education at the secondary level, which was the community's felt need at that time. It was organized as a non-stock, non-profit corporation oriented towards service to the community. In 1960, the elementary department was opened. More collegiate courses were also offered like the 1-year and 2-year Secretarial courses in 1961 and the two-year pre-engineering course in 1962. In the ensuing years, the latter was expanded to the complete programs Civil Engineering (August 13, 1968), Electrical Engineering (September 11, 1969), Mechanical Engineering (September 11, 1969), and Management and Industrial Engineering (March 17, 1986). The University celebrated its 80th year of founding with the conferment of an honorary doctorate to Amando Maglalang Tetangco, Jr., Governor of the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas and Chairman of the Monetary Board on March 7, 2014. It also inaugurated the Peter G. Nepomuceno Center of Professional Development, the home of the College of Business and Accountancy and the Professional Schools. On March 19, 2015, the University formally opened the S. Josefina G. Nepomuceno Formation Center, which houses the Institute of Christian Formation and Social Integration and retreat and formation facilities. Dr. Luís María. R. Calingo began his term as the University President on June 1, 2015, taking over from Engr. Geromin T. Nepomuceno, Jr. served as the Acting President upon Dr. Villanueva's resignation in June 2014. To further ensure optimal alignment of the university offices' functions, various units underwent reorganization with the creation of the Academics Research Office, Institute of Christian Formation and Social Integration, Human Resources Management Office, External Affairs and Corporate Communications Cluster, and the Quality Assurance Office. Holy Angel University Library is one of the best libraries of Central Luzon, strategically located to its permanent location on the second and 3rd Floors of the San Juan De Javier Building. The library collections include foreign and local materials both in print and non-print. These materials can be accessed through the online catalog. Internet services, Electronic Journal Databases, E-books, Newspapers in DVDs, and CD-ROMs are also available. University Guidance Center is where the student, who is the most critical person in this academic institution, is given the most attentive service. One of the objectives of the University's Guidance Program is to help students develop self-awareness. The Guidance Center administered the EQ test and Temperament Sorter to all students taking up General Psychology last September. The test results provided the students and teachers with an awareness of the students' emotional and personality states and helped them relate to the subject. Where does your time go? With too much task at hand and with never-ending deadlines, how well do you manage your time? It is a fact that even straight A's students find it challenging to manage their time. That is why we have developed time management training modules and brochures intended to help you keep track of your precious time, avoid procrastination, and set your priorities. A Career Orientation was conducted for selected third-year high school students at the APS AVR on October 23. Mr. Junn Geronimo of Guidance NGO informed the students of the factors to consider in choosing a course and school. He also discussed the different citations granted to schools and universities, such as the center of development, the center of excellence, and accreditation levels. The Guidance Counselors assist some college students who are currently working on their theses. Tutorial sessions were also coordinated with the Math department, CICT, and Accounting department. 21.
