      1. The land that is now the site of The University of Texas Health Science Center at Tyler has a rich history of commitment and dedication to patient care and community health. From its early beginnings in 1943 as the 1,000-bed Camp Fannin Army hospital site during World War II through decades of fighting against pulmonary diseases like tuberculosis, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, and asbestosis, UT Health Science Center has served the citizens of Texas with distinction. Great strides have been made in subsequent years, advancing healthcare through biomedical research one discovery at a time in scientific areas including lung injury and repair, infectious lung diseases, and cancer, to name just a few ongoing research projects. Today, the biomedical research conducted at UT Health Science Center is nationally recognized and competitively funded by private foundations, non-profit organizations, the Centers for Disease Control, and the gold standard of research support – the National Institutions of Health. As UT Health Science Center continues to make its dreams a reality, the tradition of excellence and public service that began with a barracks hospital 75 years ago remains a core commitment today. With exceptional patient care, comprehensive education, and innovative research, The University of Texas Health Science Center at Tyler and UT Health East Texas combine to serve as the university medical center for Northeast Texas and beyond. A shield defends our communities in Northeast Texas. It protects our health today and safeguards our health and wellness for the future. It stands stalwart between the people we care about and the illnesses, epidemics, and hazards that threaten them. That shield is The University of Texas Health Science Center at Tyler. Our academic mission is a shield forged of three parts – graduate medical education, graduate education, and biomedical and clinical research. Three integral, interconnected components joined unlike anywhere else in Northeast Texas. As the region's only university medical center, UT Health Science Center is home to some of the latest developments in patient care and community health, medical and health education, and biomedical and clinical research. Only about five percent of hospitals qualify as university medical centers. However, this small group of elite institutions is our nation's primary conduit between first-rate patient care, education, research, and the communities we serve. There is a physician shortage in rural counties throughout Northeast Texas. That is why the UT Health Science Center trains the next generation of doctors. Both locally and globally, new and familiar diseases continue to threaten countless lives. That is why UT Health Science Center conducts biomedical and clinical research and trains much-needed future scientists to understand and combat these diseases and infections. Complex problems require sophisticated, modern solutions. That is why UT Health Science Center trains graduate biotechnology students to lead the innovation revolution at the forefront of modern science. Northeast Texas is the sickest and most rural region in the state with profoundly unfavorable health disparities. That is why UT Health Science Center trains public health graduate students to establish systematic, long-term health education and wellness initiatives to promote health for those who need these programs the most. This comprehensive approach makes UT Health Science Center the first and best hope to fortify the long-term health and wellness of Northeast Texas. The challenges we face are significant, but our resolve is more significant at the UT Health Science Center. Every day at The University of Texas Health Science Center at Tyler, we look to our mission and vision to guide our education, research, and patient care initiatives. In partnership with communities across our region, we are improving individuals' and communities' health. We will be a great institution, unified in common purpose, to benefit human health and improve life quality.h other universities, industries, and businesses. The office coordinates externally funded research projects that support research development, post-award management, and technology commercialization. It represents the UT System's interests, the university president, and the university community in their relationships with external funding agencies and sponsors. View full university

All Saints provides an inclusive, nurturing Christian environment where students are nurtured and challenged to reach their full potential academically, athletically, artistically, and spiritually and truly Discover Their All. All Saints Episcopal School, an independent college preparatory school (3K-12), develops excellence in academics, fine arts, and athletics while encouraging students to achieve their maximum potential within an environment which embraces diversity, fosters leadership, encourages service, and nurtures spiritual growth centered upon the basic tenets of the Christian faith. This dynamic community finds its roots in the beauty, history, and heritage of East Texas, but believes the future is to prepare its students to live lives of significance and service in the world of the 21st Century. As a school of inquiry, innovation, and impact, we design innovative programs that allow students to collaborate with curiosity, find passions, and share these compelling experiences in an authentic learning environment. If a picture is worth a thousand words, you will undoubtedly see the heart and passion of the school during your virtual tour of our website. You can register for an upcoming admissions event or call to schedule a campus tour. The visits you make to our campus will enable you to the first experience what it means to “Discover Your All.” Academic excellence has always been a cornerstone of the challenging, college-prep curriculum delivered in our nurturing, Christian environment that allows students to explore their questions, passions, and interests in a hands-on, experiential learning environment. All Saints focuses on helping each student identify his or her talents and areas of interest and then teaches students how to build on those gifts for a lifetime of success. Through our small classes, nurturing environment, and innovative programs, students are inspired, encouraged, and compelled to become designers, developers, collaborators, and leaders ready to make a difference in the world. Episcopalians, like all Christians, believe that our life is founded on the life of Jesus and that as a Church, we are called to offer the redeeming love of God in Christ to all people. Episcopal schools are a concrete expression of the Church’s care for young people and their families and believe that God calls us to love God’s children. This open, welcoming, and loving attitude toward people of all faith traditions ensure that every child is a beloved member of the school community. As an Episcopal School in the more than 300-year tradition of Episcopalians providing excellence in education, All Saints reflects a particular style and temperament unique to other private schools. While independent in mission, operation, and governance, our relationship with the Episcopal Church connects us to the history, tradition, resources, and stability of the Episcopal Diocese of Texas, which provides All Saints a foundation that many other private schools lack. This is especially true in the openness of Episcopal schools to have religiously diverse students and faculty. Historically of primary concern in Episcopal Schools are excellence in education and the development of character, virtue, and honor.
