- The School is a private non-commercial education establishment, founded in 1999 by the Moscow Institute of Foreign Languages – which in its turn is an examination center of Cambridge University in the RF. The School prepares its leavers for entrance to the founder Higher Education Establishment (HEE) as well as for entrance into the Philology, Linguistics, Economics, and Politics profile Faculties of Moscow State Institute of International Relations, Lomonosov Moscow State University, and other fees. The establishment implements general secondary and (complete) high school education programs, and also supplementary programs in instructive, cultural studies, and sports subjects. Learning occurs during high school years (from 7 to 11). The Federal and Regional components of the educational guidelines for secondary education establishments form the basis of teaching. The hall marks and concept of the Linguistics School as a school with advanced study of certain subjects are reflected in the school’s curriculum and are demonstrated by including such subjects as the English language, Rhetoric, a second foreign language (Spanish, German, and French), English Literature, World Economics and Politics, the Economics of Russia, and a preparation course for Moscow Guides-Translators. The Russian language and Mathematics are taught at a specialized level alongside the English language in the Senior Years, and in addition to this supplementary preparation for the Unified State Exam (USE) in the Russian language, Mathematics, Social Studies, the English language, and other subjects is carried out. Pupils also prepare for and take Cambridge University certificate exams in English as a Second Language and First Language English at the School. The School’s working hours are the same as a normal school day. However, by way of helping very busy parents we can, by prior agreement, organize afternoon classes where pupils are supervised by a teacher and have the opportunity to complete homework to high standards, to consult with teachers on the Russian language, Mathematics, and the English language, to take part in social events with lunch and high-tea provided. “Whole day” groups finish at 7 p.m, although, when necessary, a child may remain at school even later than this. - LUNN is a state academic institution accredited by the Ministry of Education of the Russian Federation. It provides education to students who come from all regions of the world. LUNN trains Bachelors, Masters, and Specialists in 29-degree programs of higher education. It also provides continuing education and postgraduate programs for Ph.D. and ScD applicants. The University offers around 50 non-degree programs and courses. The following foreign languages are taught at LUNN: English, German, French, Spanish, Italian, Polish, Serbian, Turkish, Japanese, Chinese, and Thai. The university has a rich history and old traditions dating back to 1939 when Pyatigorsk State Pedagogical Institute was founded. Later, in 1961 it was transformed into the Pedagogical Institute of Foreign Languages, and in 1995 it acquired the status of a Linguistic University. - Minsk State Linguistic University (MSLU) is a recognized leader in the field of linguistic education in Belarus. Today, MSLU provides professional training in 18 languages: English, German, French, Spanish, Italian, Japanese, Chinese, Arabic, Turkish, Korean, Swedish, Polish, Czech, Dutch, Persian, Hebrew, Russian and Belarusian. Finnish will soon be added to their number. We offer seven academic majors: interpreting and translation, teaching, communication services, public relations, international (political) relations, international (economic) relations, and international tourism. We also offer 18 specializations, including world literature, linguistic computing, civilization studies, literary translation, technical translation, simultaneous interpreting, communication technologies in business, graphic design, and others. MSLU also offers masters and doctoral programs in various research fields. We were the first to introduce practically-oriented master's programs in four emerging fields (interpreting and translation studies, communication management, data treatment and analysis, and new technologies in foreign-language teaching). The University is a coordinating center for teaching activities and scholarly research carried out by foreign-language departments in fifteen higher education institutions and seven teacher training colleges in the Republic of Belarus. The republican methodological center at MSLU creates standardized academic programs and curricula and defines educational standards in foreign-language teaching for all levels of education. MSLU is actively involved in the development of the innovation policy in foreign-language education in the Republic of Belarus. - Minsk State Linguistic University (MSLU) is a recognized leader in the field of linguistic education in Belarus. Today, MSLU provides professional training in 18 languages: English, German, French, Spanish, Italian, Japanese, Chinese, Arabic, Turkish, Korean, Swedish, Polish, Czech, Dutch, Persian, Hebrew, Russian and Belarusian. Finnish will soon be added to their number. We offer seven academic majors: interpreting and translation, teaching, communication services, public relations, international (political) relations, international (economic) relations, and international tourism. We also offer 18 specializations, including world literature, linguistic computing, civilization studies, literary translation, technical translation, simultaneous interpreting, communication technologies in business, graphic design, and others. MSLU also offers masters and doctoral programs in various research fields. We were the first to introduce practically-oriented master's programs in four emerging fields (interpreting and translation studies, communication management, data treatment and analysis, and new technologies in foreign-language teaching). The University is a coordinating center for teaching activities and scholarly research carried out by foreign-language departments in fifteen higher education institutions and seven teacher training colleges in the Republic of Belarus. The republican methodological center at MSLU creates standardized academic programs and curricula and defines educational standards in foreign-language teaching for all levels of education. MSLU is actively involved in the development of the innovation policy in foreign-language education in the Republic of Belarus. A variety of academic programs and specializations offered by MSLU allows the University to meet the current demand in qualified young specialists in the humanities, philology, linguistics, and foreign-language teaching. Our University is a member of the Conférence Internationale d'Instituts Universitaires de Traducteurs et Interprètes (CIUTI) and the International Association of Universities, which have signed the United Nations Memorandum of Understanding. MSLU plays an active role in the Association for the Languages and Cultures of the CIS members and is a permanent member of the International Association of Teachers of the Russian Language and Literature (MAPRYAL). A unique educational and research project called Lingvapark initiated by MSLU aims to use the University's high intellectual potential in linguistics. One of its primary objectives is to find efficient solutions to the problems and challenges of language education and cross-cultural mediation, particularly in the socio-economic and production spheres. It also aims to provide high-quality linguistic assistance in the marketing of merchandise and services in any language for which there might be a demand, including the rare ones. A team of highly qualified teachers and professors (781 persons) employed at MSLU possess invaluable professional, educational, methodological, and research experience. MSLU also employs teachers from the USA, Germany, France, Spain, Italy, Japan, Sweden, China, Korea, Iran, Turkey, Russia, and other countries. Innovative approaches to language teaching, a wide variety of educational services, and resources available to students, modern research facilities have contributed to our University's growing status in the educational arena. As a result, the number of international students is increasing annually. Moreover, there is growing attention to our University from the subtle bodies of many countries of the world. MSLU has significantly improved the quality of its educational services through considerable investments in its technical modernization. Our computer equipment and software meet all the latest requirements. More than 1200 modern computers on our premises classrooms are equipped with interactive whiteboards and multimedia systems. Automated document processing and library services, as well as new internet centers, are increasingly available. There are also entirely renovated laboratories, language, and cultural centers that offer a wide variety of valuable educational resources. International applicants are enrolled on a contractual basis. As an international student, you must pay your tuition fees. The contract guarantees your admission to the chosen academic program and accommodation in a comfortable room (shared with two other students) in a students' housing facility. Our halls of residence are located in the historical center of Minsk, the capital city of Belarus. Thus, in addition to University studies, you have an opportunity to get acquainted with the centuries-old history of the capital city and the rich historical and cultural heritage of the Belarusian nation. Minsk is a beautiful and green city with many parks and public gardens, museums and galleries, concert halls, and theatres. The National Academic Bolshoi Opera and Ballet Theatre of the Republic of Belarus ranks very high among the theatres of the former USSR. It is second only to the world-famous Bolshoi Theatre in Moscow. Near Minsk, you will find a lot of historic sites and tourist attractions that are worth visiting. You can also travel to other cities in Belarus, each with its unique character and interesting sights. For example, in Vitebsk, you can visit Marc Chagall's birthplace museum devoted to the life and art of this remarkable world-famous painter in Brest, you will learn about the heroic defense of the Brest Fortress during the Second World War in Gomel, there is a magnificent palace surrounded by a beautiful parkland dating back to the 18th and 19th centuries. Minsk is one of the greenest and cleanest cities in Europe. Its population today is nearly two million people. Modern city transport, including a fully developed underground system, makes it possible to travel quickly and easily to any destination.
