  1. Federal State Budgetary Educational Institution of Higher Education "Yaroslav-the-Wise Novgorod State University" (NovSU), established under the resolution of the government of the Russian Federation from June 30, 1993, No. 624, is the largest higher education institution in the Novgorod region, which carries out its activity following existing legislation and normative acts of Ministry of Education and Science of Russian Federation. In the system of higher professional Education of NovSU now there are eight schools: Humanities, Medical Education, Continuous Pedagogical Education, Polytechnic, Agriculture and Natural Resources, Electronic and Information Systems, Economy and Administration, and Further Education. Judging from the names, all of them have their distinct feature. Nov continues the Novgorod Prince Yaroslav-the-Wise's political and educational mission and sees its destination in the development of Russian Education and science in the interests of an individual, society, and state glorification of Novgorod lands by learning and unity. Its vocation is to bear professional knowledge and experience, implement humanistic ideals, and build a social type of the individual adequate to our time requirements. Nov promotes the regional community's cultural development on a national and historical, spiritual, and moral basis while emphasizing the features and dynamics of "a learning university" on the latest organizational and technological basis. The NovSU leadership considers information a key line of activity (the primary strategic resource), providing all university strategic targets. Managing information by the university complex is one of the main conditions of its practical work. Today Nov has various subsystems that help to keep accounts and save different information about University's activities. Library system MARC (in the new version) provides automation of all library processes (the electronic catalog, search, literature order, etc.). The information and telecommunication infrastructure is stable and developed continuously to meet a modern classical university's actual requirements, providing favorable conditions for quality education, carrying out scientific research, and introducing innovations. At present, the NovSU corporate network unites all structural divisions with the help of high-speed communication channels. Thousands of computers, tens of servers, network office equipment, are connected to the public network and have Internet access. According to the international standards, the structured cable system serves as the basis of a network of each university division (institute or department). The robust telecommunication infrastructure of NovSU, the developed organizational infrastructure of information, highly professional shots, and the effective regional policy define the University's central role in creating and developing the Novgorod region's regional research networks. Thereby, NovSU is the perfect example to show the advantages of information technologies in the modern University. There are also free WiFi zones in all university buildings and dormitories. Yaroslav-the-Wise Novgorod State University is the recognized center of scientific research in the Novgorod region and North-West region of Russia. Scientific activity of University is carried out in three main directions: Research, which includes the implementation of fundamental and applied R&D, experimental development, organization of students' scientific-research work Organization of the innovation cycle for the implementation of research results Training the specialists of the highest qualification within doctoral studies, postgraduate studies, traineeships, internships, magistracies, Faculty of Professional Development. It also performs the activities for ensuring interaction with government, public and scientific organizations concerning scientific, research, and innovative activities of youth. NovSU's international collaboration has risen to the strategic partnership level due to the necessity of joining the unified educational expanse in Europe and the world. At present, NovSU has long-term agreements with 62 educational institutions and international organizations from 22 countries worldwide, including the USA, Great Britain, Germany, Poland, Finland, Norway, and countries of CIS. The faculty, students, and postgraduates participate in "Erasmus Mundus" program, enabling them to disseminate their knowledge and experience by studying and lecturing abroad. One of the most critical aspects of NovSU's international collaboration is the "Dual Diploma" program for undergraduate and graduate students majoring in Education. The "Dual Diploma" program is offered in collaboration with NovSU's long-standing partner Hildesheim University in Germany.
