  4. Sekolah Methodist Wesley or Wesley Methodist School Kuala Lumpur (International) was originally known as Kolej Methodist Sentul Campus. The Presidential Task Force set up by the Methodist Church in Malaysia in 1976, recommended that the character of Methodist Private Schools, which had provided a second chance for dropouts from the government system, be transformed, to provide quality education. The College made its debut in January 1983 offering places for students from Form 1 to Form 5. Simultaneously GCE A-Level classes in Science and Arts were introduced. There were also the students of Methodist High School to be phased out. It was an arduous task coordinating three different types of the curriculum under one roof with a mixed bag of teachers and limited resources. Its evolution into what it is today was a slow process. As early as 2003, noticing the potential and enthusiasm in the young students, the Principal was inspired to embark on yet another building project to provide the children with better facilities. After much discussion and planning, the Management Board, with the blessings of Bishop Datuk the Council of Education, decided to go ahead with this project to put up a five storey block with the best possible facilities that are expected in a top-notch private secondary school to provide a conducive and spacious environment for the students to maximize their potential. This building project (a five storey block) comprising classrooms, Science Labs, Computer Labs, Staff Rooms, a Conference Room, Administration Office, Sick Bay, and a large Multipurpose Hall with Elevator Service was started in 2005. The school is one of the most sought-after Private Secondary Day Schools in the country, with hundreds of aspiring students being turned away each year because of lack of places. Wesley Methodist School Kuala Lumpur (International) takes pride in providing a well-balanced all-around education with a strong emphasis on character development based on good moral values, culminating in academic excellence with a high standard of discipline. For Wesley Methodist School, with these two dynamic, experienced, and knowledgeable educationists at the helm, the best is yet to be. We believe that each student is made in the image of God, endowed with inherent dignity, and thus worthy of love, respect, and acceptance. We believe that each student is a unique individual endowed with distinctive character, aptitudes, and abilities. We believe in the nurture and development of the whole person – the spiritual, intellectual, emotional, physical, and social – to his or her fullest potential. We recognize that the teacher plays a crucial role in fulfilling our Vision and Mission. We believe that passion for teaching, love for young people, moral character, professional competency, and good communication skills are critical prerequisites. Further, we believe that teachers of the Christian faith can best impact students through their godly character and lifestyle based on a vital personal relationship with Jesus Christ. We believe that the school should provide a wholesome and non-threatening environment, where the student feels welcomed, secure, and happy, and which promotes individual learning, growing, thinking, as well as interpersonal skills and respect for others in the context of a multi-ethnic and multi-religious community. We recognize that the school should not replace but complement the home in the responsibility and task of nurturing training, and socialization of the young person. We believe that the school should impart the highest and noblest of human knowledge to the student. Further, we believe that educational excellence goes beyond academic results to encompass the meaningful learning of the subject matter. The curriculum should encourage critical and creative thinking, instill an appreciation of the sciences, arts, and culture, and promote character formation and responsible citizenship. At the same time, attention should also be given to the informal curriculum and other forms of extra-curricular activities.
  5. We are located in Bangsar, Kuala Lumpur, in customized premises on 14,000 square feet of land. The school features a swimming pool, large sandpit, water wall, art & dance studio, outdoor play area, a vegetable garden, bug hotel, and a mini pet corner. The classrooms and indoor play area are fully equipped for the wholesome development of children in our care. Our Principles Every child is unique and has a different learning curve. We customize our curriculum to fit their individual needs. The first five years of a child’s life lay the foundation for the years ahead. The human brain is at its most malleable than, and skills learned and developed in these years enable further learning. At the same time, areas of the brain not stimulated in this period can lose the ability to make new connections. The principles on which our program is founded are: Customization Each child is unique has their own needs and develops at a different pace from others. An effective program must be customized to the development curve of each child Curriculum A strong foundation is the scaffolding for the future. The most effective early childhood education is a combination of play-based, explorative learning, and a structured, directed approach, in an environment that is fully supportive of the needs of the individual child Care Children have an immense capacity for learning, imagination, creativity, and self-expression. With care and nourishment, in the right learning environment combined with the right teaching methods, core cognitive, social, physical, emotional, and creative abilities of children develop, accelerate and strengthen Communication Parents are partners with Safari Kid in the early childhood journey of their children. Effective and constant communication with parents is key to the overall development of the child. At Safari Kid we aim for the all-round development of every child. Our program is designed to accomplish specific developmental goals. COGNITIVE ABILITIES memory, problem-solving, logical thinking, math, and reading skills LANGUAGE AND COMMUNICATION Our program stresses the acquisition and development of language skills (written and spoken) at a pace that each child is comfortable with. Through a variety of methods, we enable children to develop strong communication skills, enabling them to interact appropriately with adults and peers. LEADERSHIP SKILLS The exploration method used in the classroom, and our strong focus on public speaking, as well as tasks assigned to each child for various learning activities, empower the children and instill leadership qualities. IMAGINATION AND CREATIVITY Imagination and creativity are enhanced and developed, with effective use of stories, art and craft exercises, projects, self-directed storytelling and learning, role play, and several other techniques. SOCIAL AND EMOTIONAL DEVELOPMENT A fun, healthy, safe, and nurturing environment is critical for the development of the child. At Safari Kid, we go to great lengths to create the conditions that allow for healthy social and emotional development. MOTOR SKILLS The early years are critical for the development of the child’s fine and gross motor skills. Through play, self-directed learning, motor skill enhancing toys, and activities, we develop and hone these skills. To achieve the developmental goals for each child, we have devised a unique method that fuses the learning from several leading international methods of early childhood education with our proprietary program. Our accelerated learning program, developed over ten years in Silicon Valley, focuses on the cognitive, language, and communication skill development of the child. The program incorporates math, science, language (reading and writing), public speaking, and communication skills. Our emergent curriculum takes best practices from Reggio-Emilia, Waldorf (Steiner), and Montessori teaching methods to foster creativity and imagination, personal, emotional, and social development, skills in the creative arts, and gross and fine motor skills in each child. This ensures that children pursue their interests. They are guided by their teachers while at the same time developing their imagination through creative play, aided and unaided storytime, and a variety of other methods. Safari Kid customizes the program to the learning capacity of each child. Customization of learning is achieved not only through our high teacher-to-student ratio but is embedded in the program through our unique curriculum and lessons. In essence, children learn in stages and advance only once they’ve mastered the previous stage, with each stage of learning serving as a base for the next. The three pillars of our program ensure that we meet all of our developmental objectives in a fun, caring, nurturing environment, and at a pace that every child is individually comfortable with. Our experience has shown us that academically children attending Safari Kid tend to be at least one grade ahead of their peers in primary school. Our students stand out as natural leaders in a group and can communicate effectively with peers and elders. Safari Kids are more creative problem solvers who demonstrate more imagination and creativity than their peers. Various projects and work various projects and work Languages at Safari Kid We offer intensive instruction in second and third languages, on par with our English program At Safari Kid, we incorporate teaching in the local language of the region for all children at an early stage (Arabic in our Middle East centers, Bahasa in Malaysia, and Chinese in Hong Kong). All our centers in Asia and the Middle East also offer intensive Mandarin as an option to students, and our centers in the Middle East offer French, in addition to Arabic. We will be bringing further languages to our program in all locations, too. Our main, English program, speeds up reading, writing, and communication skills in children from the beginning. By the age of three, most children at Safari Kid schools can read three-letter words. By the age of five, it is not uncommon for Safari Kids to be writing one-page stories and our curriculum at that level incorporates reading comprehension, too! We follow the same principles as our main programs for other languages that are taught in our centers. Our Mandarin program, for example, has students learning to read and write in Chinese (traditional in Hong Kong, simplified elsewhere, and pinyin everywhere) from the time they enter Level One (around 2.5 years). This ensures that students attending Safari Kid anywhere are ready for both local and international school systems and excel in comparison to their peers.
  6. When it opened its doors in 1962, for a handful of students, the French School of Kuala Lumpur was generously accommodated in the premises of the Alliance Francaise and no one could imagine then the rapid development that it would experience. Today, the Lycee Francais of Kuala Lumpur accommodates around 800 students from the Kindergarten to Terminale in premises that have undergone several changes. The mission of French schools abroad is to provide schooling for French children who move to Malaysia with their parents, but with the additional mission of enabling each child to achieve their full potential in a multi-cultural environment. Welcoming students of other nationalities and from other cultural origins, be they children from the host country or children of another nationality, is an undeniable asset for all students at our school. The Lycee Henri Fauconnier has been affiliated with the Agency for French Education Abroad (AEFE) since 1990 and as such benefits from the expertise of educational professionals, who guarantee the quality of the education provided. The network of French schools abroad contracted to or in partnership with the AEFE, is unique in the world, as it enables each student to benefit from an education conforming rigorously to the curricula and spirit of the French educational system, as well as to the republican values embodied by it. Our ambition is to prepare our students for the world of tomorrow so that they are better armed to face the challenges of the 21st century and become responsible and tolerant citizens. This objective is fully apparent in the cultural richness of the teaching offered to them. Taking each student’s individuality into consideration is an indisputable factor in their success, which is why a personalized pedagogic relationship is one of our teaching priorities, and the educational personnel is ready to provide help and confidence to the students to accompany them in their learning and schooling. Finally, the collaboration between families, the pedagogic team, and the school’s administration is a necessity to make our investment, in serving your children, all the more efficient.
  7. We take time to nurture relationships based on mutual trust and respect. Because we learn, grow and achieve more when we feel valued and understand how we impact the lives of others. Passion is what we are. We are connected head and heart, thinking and feeling every little task that we do. We seize each moment as a chance to learn, connect, and express ourselves fearlessly, genuinely. We strike a difference because of balance. It is the complementing dimensions of knowledge and fun, creativity and pragmatism, imaginative play, and positive discipline that give a solid foundation for a full and enriching learning journey. We are in education because we inspire progression. We are constantly learning and evolving in becoming better educators, better parents, better people. We pursue excellence, not for perfection, but to empower every learner to succeed in school and life. We believe and trust in our capabilities and empower individuals to do the same. We celebrate what makes each person dramatically different because we are not afraid to show the world who we truly are. We bring out the fascination in ordinary things. This sense of wonder stirs electric energy that attracts and engages people, exciting them to step up and participate in this shared experience. We approach things with both our intellect and a passion for play. We see things not just as they are, but what they can be because we understand that only by the combination of wisdom and imagination can we spark magic. We are constantly curious. We are open and ever ready to discover and learn more about the world from our experiences and our connections with people around At the heart of our learning journey in Julia Gabriel is the individual. As the driver of change, and we believe that we can change the world by sparking the minds who will influence the future. Sayfol International School is an institution of learning where children from 60 different countries of the world are educated, whereby we endeavor to blend this international mixture of children causing a special effect of cordiality and harmony between one another in a manner so deep and sincere that once within the campus of the school, we believe and consider all of us, teachers and the support staff as one united family – The SAYFOL Family. The primary aim of the school is to offer its students a sound education of high academic standards with a strong focus on discipline and academic studies. The school’s exceptionally outstanding academic examination results in the Pearson Edexcel International General Certificate of Secondary Education (IGCSE) examinations reflect that we remain amongst the highest achieving schools in the world. There is no success without discipline. Within the school, the students are taught the fundamentals of good conduct and self-discipline at all times as well as to respect others and to maintain high standards of politeness. These fundamentals are imparted to the child very carefully, constantly tempered with love and affection. At Sayfol, we believe that a high level of moral fiber is essential. We help the students both directly through discussions and indirectly through their experiences during curricular and extra-curricular activities, to overcome the problems and temptations they may face in life. Too often children and young adults are undermined by criticism. The Sayfolian is taught to have the confidence to face adverse situations and comment with reason and not emotion, objectively not subjectively as well as not to dissipate its valuable energy and intellect by being perturbed or negatively influenced by outside comments, opinions, or actions. Here the students are taught to look after themselves and their belongings. They are put into positions of responsibility both in the class and in the school in general. They learn not only the qualities of responsibility and leadership but also the various skills needed for independence. We are excited about the teaching and learning that is happening in the school this year, which allows our teachers to support the holistic development of each child. Not only striving for strong academic achievement, but we will also be focusing on the 21st-century skills of collaboration, communication, critical thinking, creativity, and connectedness in our classrooms. In our Kindergarten and Primary One classrooms, our teachers have enjoyed the introduction of the International Early Years Program (IEYC) by Fieldworks. This integrated curriculum program uses international best practices, holistic inquiry, and play-based approaches to focus on the personal, social and emotional development of our young learners. Language-rich classrooms help to further develop their English language skills. In primary school, our students will continue to support their academic achievement through Project-Based Learning. This allows our students to showcase their understanding of the concepts being taught in the classrooms in a fun and interactive way. At the secondary level, our students continue to achieve high results in their IGCSE and IAL exams, with students scoring the highest marks in the World in Math and Further Pure Maths and highest marks in Asia Global Citizenship. Their new timetables provide our secondary students with the opportunity to meet new friends in each of their classrooms, and to take part in the Co-curricular and Extracurricular activities programs and Class Excursions. In the classrooms, our students are continuing to utilize technology to not only access teacher resources, but also to support their learning.

  14. Fairview School is a rapidly expanding group of International Baccalaureate World Schools in Malaysia and beyond. Fairview IB education was offered to 300 students on a single campus. Today, we boldly embrace 3000 IB students from 55 countries on 5 strategically located campuses in Malaysia. Indeed Fairview has charted its course while achieving milestones IB education has never witnessed in Malaysia. Apart from just physical changes in infrastructure in all of our campuses making them more student-friendly, wireless with high-speed broadband services, and providing the much-required facilities befitting an International Baccalaureate(IB) World School, the academic faculty has seen a major transformation. Continuous professional development, the backbone of any learning organization has seen the introduction of consistent and sustainable initiatives in a calculated move to ensure that teachers are thorough and developed regularly with the latest in educational initiatives and postgraduate teaching qualifications. With 4 campuses authorized for the Primary Years Programme(PYP) and the Middle Years Programme(MYP) of the IB and the first in Malaysia to contain the two programs under one roof, it is our duty to only offer nothing but the best in professional development for our teachers. Serving the Malaysian International Community since 1978, Fairview is a global network of 5 schools currently located across Malaysia (Kuala Lumpur, Penang, Subang, Johor, and Ipoh). Four of our schools are authorized IB World Schools for children aged 3 – 19, with the fifth, Fairview Ipoh at the candidate stage. View full school

  23. View full school
  25. View full school
