Commecs Institute of Business and Emerging Sciences (CIBES) is a Degree Awarding Institution sponsored by the CET - Commecs Educational Trust. The Trust was established by the COMMECS - the Alumni Association of the Government College of Commerce and Economics. Trust is a not-for-profit organization, certified by the Pakistan Centre for Philanthropy (PCP) for quality standards in education. The founders envisioned the institute for bringing in a quantum change in the country's present education system. CIBES was the first institute in Pakistan to get a BBA Program affiliation from IBA - the Institute of Business Administration Karachi in the Year 1995. This reflected the confidence and Trust of IBA Karachi in the quality of business education provided at CIBES. During its decade long healthy affiliation with IBA' CIBES offered BBA (Pass), BBA (Hons.), and BBA (4 Years) Program. It has also signed MoUs with many international universities for academic collaboration. CECOS University also has its Quality Enhancement Cell (QEC), which checks on academic, teaching, and learning standards. The role of QEC is to monitor the quality of education through a well-structured feedback mechanism which involves obtaining feedback from students, alumni, employers, and faculty, It is also encouraging creativity, learning, and individual enterprise. Founded as a Federally Chartered University in July 2000, the National University of Computer and Emerging Sciences is a premiere University of Pakistan, renowned for the quality and impact of its students in the development of local software and other industries. The university has five modern campuses at Karachi, Lahore, Islamabad, Peshawar, and Chiniot-Faisalabad. These campuses provide world-class educational environments and recreational facilities to about 9,000 students, around one-quarter are female.
