  1. Georgian Court University is a coeducational, forward-thinking institution that encourages intellectual inquiry, moral analysis, and social dialogue. Georgian Court University is committed to delivering a comprehensive liberal arts education in the Roman Catholic tradition. Since its inception in 1908, the college has evolved to offer various academic programs that give you the tools to succeed in today’s world. As a coeducational institution, we continue to grow while maintaining a small-scale setting that provides a significant value: a community based on respect, integrity, justice, compassion, and service. Each GCU student shapes our experiential academic environment, making for a vibrant environment of teachers and learners. GCU boasts more than 30 undergraduate degrees, ten graduate degrees, and various certificate programs for existing professionals looking to advance their careers. GCU is ranked by U.S. News & World Report as one of the best regional universities—and one of the best colleges for veterans. Whether you are in the classroom or participating in a field experience, our priority is to deliver a personalized education that meets your personal needs and career aspirations. That comes from distinguished faculty members and the 12:1 student-to-faculty ratio—in addition to the engaging curriculum—so your education at GCU is valuable for the rest of your life. Founded and sponsored by the Sisters of Mercy, Georgian Court University is located in Lakewood, New Jersey. Set on a magnificent 156-acre estate formerly belonging to financier George Jay Gould, the campus is conveniently situated 60 miles from New York and Philadelphia, and only 10 miles from the Jersey Shore. Bordering Lake Carasaljo, the site is a National Historic Landmark with alluring statuary, beautiful architecture, and lush gardens. After a long history as a women’s college with coeducational graduate programs and undergraduate evening programs, Georgian Court became fully coeducational in 2013. Georgian Court University provides comprehensive liberal arts education in the Roman Catholic tradition while maintaining its particular historic concern for women. The university offers a broad enough curriculum to be truly liberal, yet specialized enough to provide in-depth preparation for careers or further study. The Georgian Court atmosphere is a small college ambiance in a technologically advanced, highly esteemed university setting. The university offers a nurturing campus environment with individualized attention and guidance centered around the mission and the core Mercy values of respect, integrity, justice, compassion, and service. The faculty is committed to teaching and individual mentoring, as 92% hold doctorates or terminal degrees in their field. They are dedicated and caring educators and experts in their respective industries, leading more than 30 undergraduate degrees, 11 graduate degrees, and various certificates. GCU has three schools: the School of Arts & Sciences, the School of Business & Digital Media, and the School of Education. Georgian Court University prepares students for life beyond the campus gates. By senior year, 90% of undergraduate students have participated or plan to participate in some practicum, internship, field experience, co-op, or clinical placement. Also, undergraduates are required to participate in service-learning. And 92% of seniors rated their entire GCU educational experience as “excellent” or “good.” College can be exciting and challenging. Being away from home, being exposed to new ideas, and meeting new people are all part of the college experience. During this time, you may also experience stress, depression, anxiety, or other issues as you cope with academic and financial pressures. Conflicts with family, friends, and professors can make your time at college overwhelming. The Counseling Center is available to all GCU students and offers support to help you deal with any challenges you face during your time at GCU. Transfer your academic foundation from Georgian Court University into a rewarding career in the “real” world. The Office of Career Services, Corporate Engagement, and Continuing Education helps you bridge the gap from being a student to becoming a professional and progressing through every stage of your career. Our office has a wide array of tools and resources to help you find jobs and internships, identify and market your skillset, network, compile a résumé, and prepare for interviews at each career transition point you encounter. Whether you are a current GCU student or an alum, be sure to take advantage of these life-long free services. Experiential learning allows you to gain knowledge, develop skills, and clarify values through direct experience and focused reflection. By exploring your interests and abilities, you will make a more informed choice about your career options. These experiences will allow you to observe and apply concepts that you are learning in the classroom to real-life settings and also make you more competitive in today’s job market. At GCU, we require that you have two experiential learning experiences to graduate. This can include service-learning (click above), internships (click above), or a travel or study abroad program. One must be service learning in a designated course other than the First-Year Seminar. The other can be an internship, practicum or field study, study abroad experience, or a second service learning. An internship combines supervised work experience with a structured academic plan that includes learning objectives. An internship may be full-time or part-time, paid, or unpaid. This is an excellent way to gain work experience related to your major and is one of the essential credentials you can list on your résumé. Though a maximum of one internship can be counted toward the experiential learning requirement, you can participate in as many internships as you would like.
  2. At Hampton Court House, we strive to equip our children with the emotional literacy they will require to negotiate the vicissitudes of life and thus to find happiness and fulfillment. Hampton Court House is an independent co-educational school. We take children from Nursery (three-year-olds) to Year 13 (eighteen-year-olds). The Sixth Form opened in September 2015. All students are prepared for 13+ Common Entrance and/or scholarship examinations of the leading boys’ and girls’ schools, although most children elect to stay on to take their GCSEs and A levels at Hampton Court House. Hampton Court House is situated in its private parkland, a 30 to 40-minute drive from Central London or a 35-minute train journey from Waterloo Station. It is important to us that children enjoy being here and look forward to coming to school. We wish to lay the foundations of a lifelong love of learning. The School is distinctive in the weight we place on achieving fluency in other languages we instill in all our pupils a firm cultural and artistic framework, which underpins all their academic studies. And we seek to empower our students with the confidence to express themselves effectively in both their public and private lives. We work with sparkling young minds – which sometimes need to be channeled and which sometimes need to be given free rein. Such is the paradox of education – there are no rules. Original thought requires the ability to think beyond, to adapt, to change, and to innovate. All this is quite different from that necessary and vital skill of passing examinations, where there most certainly are rules (they’re called ‘mark schemes’) to be followed. At Hampton Court House, we value the diverse ethnic backgrounds of our pupils and staff. We note the Department for Education’s (DfE) requirement “to create and enforce a clear and rigorous expectation on all schools to promote the fundamental British values of democracy, the rule of law, individual liberty and mutual respect and tolerance of those with different faiths and beliefs” and these values are at the heart of our school culture. Academic excellence is developed in all our students through our commitment to an intellectual, creative, and questioning environment. We value individuality, originality, and independence we provide inspirational, traditional lessons with content-driven teaching. We believe the genius of creative expression is built upon the confidence of sure foundations. We strive to give our students the best possible grounding to take on life’s challenges, through their knowledge of other cultures and languages, and their self-awareness, and their acquisition of effective communication skills, so that they may influence and shape the future. Hampton Courthouse has an extensive and diverse co-curricular program that runs throughout the school from Early Years to Sixth Form. We have a wide base of clubs and societies which evolve to meet the needs of our students. If a student has a particular interest that they would like to pursue, foster, or propagate then we will do what we can to help them. We encourage students to take part in at least one club a term with most choosing to do more. The curriculum is taught through discrete subjects. Each subject teacher is a member of a department combining similar subjects. The members of the department meet most weeks to discuss progress, cross-curricular links and activities, differentiation strategies, and Gifted and Talented enhancements. The schemes of work should set out the range of topics for each subject to be taught over each term, how individual topics are to be taught, what resources will be used, and what opportunities will be taken for assessing pupils’ learning and progress. Each department has also written a handbook detailing the principles and vision of the department. The handbooks also detail textbooks and resources used in assessment and evaluation outline advice on applying school policy in the context of the subject of a department development plan. The Early Years is guided by and compliant with the EYFS Framework and goes beyond this significantly in some areas such as the early introduction for foreign languages, an early reading program, the Forest School provision, and specialist teaching in art, ballet, and music. 3. Enrichment is at the heart of the school body. At Grey Court, we value the Social, Emotional, Physical, and Intellectual development of our students. At Grey Court involvement in activities that challenge, are fun, reflect life, provide the social interface, broaden knowledge, give leadership opportunities, help build self-belief, develop social skills through teamwork, provide health benefits and promote excellence will greatly enhance the qualities of the individuals involved. We do encourage healthy competition, valuing the merits of team sport and individual pursuit. Over recent years we have been very successful in many of our sporting endeavors at Borough, London, and national levels. In this vein, Grey Court continues to thrive as a center for sporting excellence. As well as a sport we encourage our pupils to participate beyond the sports arena and have seen them flourish in the range of activities offered through academic routes and the visual and performing arts When the young people in our school community embrace all aspects of community life at Grey Court they are often likely to go on and achieve with confidence and clarity of purpose. Admissions for transitions Year 6 to Year 7 are managed by the Admissions Dept London Borough of Richmond upon Thames and not by the school. Offers for September 2018 will be sent out directly by the Local Authority. Applications from Richmond’s residents will be made on Richmond’s Common Application Form, which will be made available in paper form and online. If you do not live in the London Borough of Richmond-upon-Thames, please contact your home borough for guidance. Admissions for the present Year 7 to 11 are coordinated by the School Admissions Department at Richmond Council. The Grey Court Curriculum aims to be an inspirational and aspirational curriculum that meets the needs of a diverse range of learners. All children have a right to a broad, balanced and relevant education that provides continuity and progression and considers individual differences. The school always will deliver its teaching based on the worth of the individual within a culture that fosters respect for others and celebrates diversity. The school always will strive to offer students the opportunity to develop their talents to the maximum to broaden and deepen their areas of interest to furnish them with the skills to learn, not only whilst at the school, but throughout their lifetimes. The school will ensure that every student has access to the National Curriculum along with as wide a range as possible of other experiences. We aim to ensure that all students achieve the highest standards. The school will monitor all achievement and progress in conjunction with the requirements of the law. The curriculum offered includes a mixture of traditional, facilitating- levels courses and some level 3 technical awards. Please see below for a list of Key Stage 5 subjects offered. The PSHE and Citizenship (known as personal Development and Wellbeing – PDW) program are organized outside of the normal timetable, through drop-down periods. The program includes the use of outside speakers and special event days to enable us to meet our statutory requirements for citizenship, personal and social education, and enterprise education. The governors of Grey Court School are dedicated to the achievement of excellence by students through innovative and inclusive teaching. The governors are ambitious for the school and proud of what has been achieved in recent years. We are delighted that with strong leadership and high-quality staff, Grey Court is now an over-subscribed school where increasing numbers of young people are getting top GCSEs. The Governing Body is responsible and accountable for all major decisions about the school and its future. Governors set the school's vision and strategic aims, monitor, and evaluate performance acting as a critical friend to the headteacher, and ensure the school is accountable to those it serves. The Governing Body is made up of representatives from the community, those with business or professional expertise, parents, teaching, and non-teaching staff. There are five elected parent governors. A key feature at Grey Court School is the quality of care, guidance, and support that is available to students from the moment they join us. We provide a strong network of pastoral care with the core purpose of ensuring that students feel happy, safe, and able to achieve. Of central importance is the fostering of high-quality relationships between students, their peers, and staff which allows everyone to feel a sense of pride in their school community and how it develops. Student support at Grey Court begins with the Tutors who provide the all-important daily contact with the students. They monitor attendance, punctuality, and behavior and generally help to ensure that students are happy and progressing at school. They also provide the first point of contact for parents. 4. Moyles Court. While there are many beautiful and historic school buildings throughout the country, few reside within a National Park boundary in the way that Moyles Court School does. The New Forest, well known for its ancient heathlands, deep forests, and native ponies, attracts visitors from around the world. We’re pleased to say that our little corner remains very peaceful and it is only really local people who walk and enjoy the beautiful heathlands. Being able to walk directly out of our own safely enclosed gardens, straight into the New Forest, means we can maintain a healthy and natural outdoor life for our children and help satisfy their natural curiosity and energy. All pupils at the school enjoy their immediate surroundings with its huge sandpit – formed on the south side of a natural sandhill – the ford, brook, and surrounding lakes. It is here that Geography, Science, History, and Art start to take form for many of our children. There is also the physical activity of walking, exploring, and sailing on the local lakes. The school grounds of 14 acres are enclosed and the school enjoys a very open, sunny aspect. We have our woodland and we actively encourage wildlife to thrive there. It is only natural that we should be part of the Forest Schools initiative where children learn about conservation and natural habitats. The school site is large enough to accommodate a modern sports hall, Early Years and Pre-School facilities, gardens, sports fields, and an all-weather multi-sports court. Moyles Court School is a preserved and well-maintained historic house with a warming family atmosphere. It has retained many of its traditional features while providing a stimulating and beautiful place to learn. Moyles Court is unique in every way. The ethos and purpose of our school are encapsulated in our Mission Statement: “Moyles Court School educates each pupil within an inspiring, challenging and nurturing environment, to become responsible and respectful members of an ever-changing international community” At Moyles Court, we recognize the importance of providing an academic and broad-based education, designed to enable all pupils to discover their strengths and allow them to flourish and fulfill their potential. They are encouraged to work effectively, both independently and as a team, and to express their creativity and powers of imagination in a stimulating and supportive environment. We strive to foster self-confidence, enthusiasm, resilience, tolerance, good manners, and integrity and provide a level of pastoral care that nurtures both physical health and emotional maturity. We recognize that for future success, life skills play an equally important role alongside academic achievement and encourage our pupils to be innovative, compassionate, and purposeful.
  5. The aim of the school to consider each child as an individual, and central to all that is done is fulfilled."Located in West Wickham, Kent, Wickham Court is an independent co-educational day school for children from nursery through to the end of Key Stage One. We are proud to offer a superb education for your child in a historically and culturally rich setting. Our pupils are energetic, engaged, and happy they benefit from the skill and expertise of dedicated, experienced teachers and small class sizes. Your child will learn on grounds that both exude history, and provide a safe and secure environment for their learning. We aim to impart a love of learning and a reverence for ideas, something that your child will benefit from for the entirety of their academic and adult lives. By nurturing the total person, we can encourage "the genius of the individual".Our fees are very competitive because we aim to bring independent school education into the grasp of most families. You can feel secure that your children are in the best hands when you entrust us with their care and education as we are inspected by the Independent Schools Inspectorate, and registered with the Bromley Early Years Team. Wickham Court is a very special place, and it is so encouraging to see our pupils thrive in our small classes under the instruction of our dedicated, nurturing teachers. Interaction between children of all ages throughout the school is a joy to observe. We have art and music facilities that we hope will stimulate our children's aesthetic senses. You may even get the chance to see our young actors practicing their skills in our drama hall. You will note that our library and our computers not only provide valuable and practical learning tools but also open many doors and windows to the wonder that is private education. We believe that learning should go beyond the formal classroom that what a child learns in sport and games complements the purely academic. Thus, we take great pride in the school grounds, and we value the sound of our children's laughter as they run about our five acres of gardens and stately lawns Our school reflects the sense of tradition and timelessness associated with education itself, but it also profits from the best of modern texts and technology. Most importantly, it profits from the life and the energy that our children bring with them. Our Pre-School is an integral part of the wider school that offers your child the opportunity to realize their potential early on in their school life. Your child will be encouraged to develop lively and enquiring minds, with a thirst for learning that is fun and engaging. The flexible approach that we take to our Pre-School classes means that we can arrange times to suit you that your child will spend with us. We amend the cost of these sessions in line with this. Your child will be cherished, and be a significant part of the family atmosphere that exists throughout the school. Your child will not only benefit from the care and expertise of our teaching staff but also the care and attention of the older children in the school. From the age of two years and six months, your child can join the Tiny Tudors. This is based on the ground floor of the castle, with direct access to a large outside terrace, complete with playhouses and wet play equipment. Specialist teachers work with the children in French, music, drama, and sports starting at Nursery. Just like a building, future learning is based on firm foundations so priority is given to reading, comprehension, writing, and numeracy in the first three years. Once your child reaches the age of four, learning becomes more formally structured, practicing letters, numbers, and engaging in whole-class learning. This approach provides a stepping stone to Reception class and lays strong foundations for their academic and personal future. During your child’s time in the Reception class, they will be encouraged to build concentration, take responsibility for leading the class as it moves about the building, and returning the register as ‘class leader’. We encourage children to borrow a library book each week and aim to instill in your child a love of reading, and a sense of responsibility. By reading to their class teacher every day, we can identify areas where your child might struggle early on, to ensure that your child is given the best support possible throughout their time at Wickham Court. We are proud to boast five acres of secure grounds where children can expend energy and enjoy outdoor learning. When your child is in Nursery, they have access to an enclosed grassed area that is equipped with slides, see-saws, a Wendy House, and other outdoor play equipment. Play is a key tool in the development of social interaction, we are confident that your child will return home happily tired, having used most of their boundless energy during their school day. Throughout your child’s time at Nursery, they will be equipped with the tools to flourish further on in the school. We encourage empathy, kindness, and consideration for other people as well as placing firm foundations for a love of learning, and an enquiring mind. When your child leaves the Nursery, we anticipate that they will have learned to work with a degree of independence, recognize and form letters, and be proficient in handling numbers up to 10. However, once these objectives are reached, we do not stop encouraging their development and endeavor to provide an environment where your child is constantly engaged.
  6. The Court School is indeed very special. It is more than a school and has a very friendly ethos that encourages good behavior and a positive attitude to learning. The school caters to up to 35 children from throughout the City and County of Cardiff. The children are of Primary school age (5-11). These children have special educational needs in the form of social, emotional, and behavioral difficulties many of whom also experience learning difficulties, and some have very complex special needs. One of the aims of the school is to help suitable pupils overcome their difficulties and return to mainstream education. This is not a realistic objective for ALL pupils, but providing opportunities for each pupil to achieve their potential is a primary aim. The school has five teachers plus a Deputy and Headteacher. 13 Teaching Assistants support the children's learning. This experienced, dedicated, and professional team is committed to providing the best possible learning and teaching environment for some of the City's most vulnerable and disadvantaged young children, as well as providing opportunities to enhance their self-esteem and develop their social skills and independence. The Court School is a special school maintained by Cardiff City Council. The school supports primary-aged pupils from four to 11 years old with social, emotional, and behavioral difficulties. Most pupils have statements of special educational needs. The school aims to help pupils overcome their difficulties and where possible return to mainstream education. Eight pupils returned to mainstream school in the last academic year. The school’s motto is “Learning to learn together”. All pupils come from the city and county of Cardiff. Currently, there are 38 boys and no girls. A few pupils are looked after by the local authority. No pupils speak Welsh as their first language. A few pupils are from ethnic minority backgrounds. About 70% of pupils receive free school meals. This is well above the all-Wales average. Pupils are taught in five classes, which are broadly determined by need, ability level, and age. One of these classes caters to pupils who also attend their mainstream schools. This class is called the Revolving Door.

View full university

They monitor attendance, punctuality, and behavior and generally help to ensure that students are happy and progressing at school. They also provide the first point of contact for parents.
  13. At Byron Court, we have a motto that underpins what we intrinsically believe of all our children: ‘Believe it Achieve it!’ This means that we want to ensure that all children are given opportunities to develop their full potential and that the inspiring, broad, and balanced learning experiences they have at school will build lasting memories, inner confidence, and the ability to make a positive contribution to our society. We believe that we have personal and shared responsibilities to be the best we can be and that working together with governors, staff, pupils, their families, and our neighbors we can achieve the goals we set ourselves. Byron Court has been a popular school since 1932 and you will see in our guest book that past pupils still retain fond memories of their experiences and our neighbors are proud to have been either educated at the school themselves or have enjoyed watching their children and grand-children grow and develop at Byron Court. Byron Court was judged to be an outstanding school by Ofsted in 2012 and has since been awarded Teaching School status in March 2014, which reiterates that the school continues to deliver outstanding provision for its pupils in addition to providing teacher training, continued professional development to teachers and support to other schools through sharing good practice. We currently have 680 pupils at our school, some of whom are located at our temporary off-site provision in Ashley Gardens, which accommodates a Year 1 Class. The school will be submitting plans for a permanent expansion to 5 forms of entry. The demand for school places across much of the country means that a large majority of schools are expanding and the governors and staff of Byron Court believe that it is vitally important that all children have a right to be educated at a good or better school. Inspire enthusiasm for learning Provide opportunities to reach our potential Work together to achieve our best Make a positive contribution to our community Build lasting memories We are an inclusive school where pupils, parents, staff, governors, the L.A., and local services work in partnership to meet the needs of the community. We celebrate the positive contribution made by different social, ethnic, and linguistic groups. Byron Court Primary is committed to ensuring that everyone traveling to and from the school can do so as safely as possible. We encourage those traveling to the site to use environmentally friendly modes of transport and to be aware of the needs of those living near the school. We believe this contributes to the health, safety, and developing independence of pupils and good relationships with our neighbors. The School wishes to give all children a sense of self-discipline, care for the environment, and a tolerance and respect for others, both within the School and the wider community. Children are assessed continuously in Maths, English, Science, Computing, and Spanish. All pupils are regularly assessed using teacher assessment based on the new National Curriculum statutory requirement criteria, which is based on age-related expectations. Children’s progress is monitored and analyzed termly by the class teacher and Senior Leadership team. During these meetings, any additional interventions are identified and subsequently delivered to meet the individual needs of every child in our school. In the Spring term targets are set in English and Maths and shared with each pupil in a one-to-one meeting and later with the parents at parent’s evening. In the Summer term, children in Years 2,3,4,5 & 6 are formally tested, the results are used to inform final teacher assessments for the year: this indicates if pupils are on track to achieve age-related expectations. The national requirement is that 80% of children should be working at this level or above by the time they reach Secondary school.

  16. 17. View full school
