- William Ellis School was first established in 1862 in Gospel Oak and catered for girls and boys of a wide age range. In 1889 it was reconstituted as a boys' secondary school. The school moved to its present site, backing onto Hampstead Heath, in 1937. Since then classrooms have been adapted and extended, parts of the building have been converted and there has been a great deal of building to provide the specialist classrooms required. The most recent building program gave us a new school hall and fully computerized learning resource center, library, and office. The school has been fully comprehensive since 1984, having admitted its first mixed ability intake in 1978. It has a large joint sixth form with Parliament Hill School, which is part of the highly regarded La Swap Consortium with La Sainte Union and Acland Burghley School. The school has a long history of success and in 1997 became one of the three boys’ schools in the country to earn specialist Language College status. William Ellis is unusual in being a non-denominational ' Voluntary Aided' school within the London Borough of Camden. There are not many of these schools, and they are mostly attached to the Roman Catholic and Anglican Churches, a Jewish community, or a Livery Company. We stand on our own, supported by the William Ellis and Birkbeck Schools Trust, a registered charity whose funds are sole to assist the school. The Trustees work closely with the Governors and appoint the Foundation Governors. Many of our Governors are parents of current or former students of the school, and a few are former students. Our purpose is to develop in our students the knowledge, skills, and qualities, strengthening their character and resolve, so that they are well qualified and prepared for their future success and wellbeing. William Ellis is a distinctive, dynamic, and diverse school where there is a strong sense of pride and belonging in the school community. Our vision is to create an environment built on success, self-discovery, developing leadership, passion for learning, and acquiring effective skills for life. We are concerned with the development of the whole person: intellectually, physically, emotionally, socially, and spiritually. We emphasize the dignity of the individual and promote respect for others. Our school was the last he founded but unlike all the others it bore his name. This was in October 1862. One of the chief aims of the Birkbeck Schools was the development of the thinking powers of children, quite radical at the time, rather than merely cultivating their memory. William Ellis stood out as an innovator on a grand scale in founding schools where the sciences, including social sciences, formed the main basis of tuition and the development of the faculty of reason was regarded as the basic function of education. He valued, as he said, his conscience and his feelings for human wellbeing above all else. William Ellis School View full school

- William Davies is a special place, developing resilient learners who are confident and adaptable. We offer a curriculum that is broad, balanced and promotes the spiritual, moral, cultural, social, and physical development of our children. It prepares them for the opportunities, responsibilities, and experiences of later life. Our bespoke program of education comprises the national curriculum as well as additional varied learning opportunities and experiences. ‘The Questioning Curriculum’ encourages inquiry and promotes independent learning to develop self-confidence and resilience. We provide personal, social, and health education and promote independent thought through ‘Philosophy for Children.’ We recognize the importance of developing confident speakers and active listeners so that children are successful learners. Our experienced and dedicated staff respond to the needs of the learners and teachers are creative in how this happens. A commitment to excellent professional development for all staff ensures teaching is of a high standard. We have high expectations for all our children both in their learning and behavior and expect them to contribute to the school and wider community through celebration, awareness of others, and citizenship. At William Davies, we aim to develop resilient learners who are confident and adaptable. As most of our children are learning English as an additional language we ensure that our broad and balanced curriculum has spoken as one of the most important aspects of developing our learners. We offer a curriculum that is broad, balanced and promotes the spiritual, moral, cultural, mental, and physical development of our pupils. It aims to prepare pupils for the opportunities, responsibilities, and experiences of later life. We have designed our program of education which comprises the national curriculum as well as other learning opportunities and experiences appropriate to the needs of our community. ‘The Questioning Curriculum’ encourages inquiry and promotes independent learning to develop self-confidence and resilience. Our curriculum also provides personal, social, and health education. It promotes independent thought through ‘Philosophy for Children’ and develops speaking and listening skills. Religious education is a compulsory subject as set out in the National Curriculum. Our Religious Education curriculum is taken from Newham’s Agreed Syllabus and Guidance which has been discussed agreed and ratified by the Newham Council, local teachers, and representatives of all the major faiths and denominations in our area. At William Davies Primary, staff and Governors are concerned that all aspects of school life are ‘fair’ and ‘safe’ for pupils, staff, parents, carers, and visitors. Safeguarding our children means adopting proactive measures to ensure that all systems and structures within our school minimize the risk of harm to our pupils. All those who come into contact with children and families in their everyday work, including people who do not have a specific role in child protection, have a duty to safeguard and promote the welfare of children. Our school has a very high proportion of children who are learning English as an additional language, children who have special educational needs, and children with a wide range of barriers to learning. To meet their wide range of learning needs and to overcome the passive nature of some children, it is essential to use interactive and visual teaching strategies to engage all children in their learning. We encourage children to be independent, evaluative, and self-aware in their learning. These skills will be developed with the pupils over their time in school and be age-appropriate. We encourage focussed speaking and listening activities in all year groups as well as providing opportunities for real experiences to develop language skills. Educational visits are organized to both enhance learning and broaden the horizons of our pupils. View full school

- William Byrd Primary Academy based in Harlington, we are a happy, busy three-form entry primary school set in expansive, leafy grounds. If you visit us, you will find a dedicated and talented team of staff, hard-working and engaging pupils along with supportive and proud parents. We converted to Academy status in September 2017 and have joined the Middlesex Learning Partnership family. We are proud to work alongside our new primary and secondary partners, Belmore Primary Academy and Barnhill Community High, to ensure the highest standards of education and academic achievement for all. At William Byrd Primary School, children will be regarded as having special educational needs if “they have a learning difficulty which calls for special educational provision to be made for them”. This provision can include the involvement of extra teachers, or specific learning materials, special equipment, a different teaching strategy, or external advice from specialist support staff e.g. speech and language teachers or Educational Psychologists. At William Byrd Primary Academy, we support students with learning difficulties and emotional needs to allow them to achieve their full potential. We identify barriers to learning and implement interventions to support students’ learning and wellbeing. The concerns regarding students raised by members of staff or parents are further investigated by a class teacher liaising with Assistant Heads. We believe that children should be offered full access to a broad and balanced curriculum to enable them to become valuable citizens. We also ensure that all staff are aware of the needs of individual children and receive up-to-date information and training wherever necessary. William Byrd Primary Academy strives to provide a safe environment where children can achieve their full potential in all aspects of their learning. We will achieve this by creating a learning environment that is stimulating and challenging, inclusive and enjoyable. William Byrd aims to promote a sense of belonging to our school and the local community. At William Byrd, we strongly believe in the power of giving children choices and consequences and allowing children time to make the right choice. Through consistent delivery of appropriate consequences, children are encouraged to make positive choices that benefit their learning. We are committed to maximizing the achievement of all children and we have high expectations of all children. We do not believe that children who are eligible for pupil premium have any predetermined likelihood to underachieve. We do understand though that some of these pupils may need to make faster progress than non-eligible pupils and we are focused on achieving this. We have a coherent and focused approach to raising the achievement of all children. We recognize that children eligible for Pupil Premium face barriers to achievement and we will use Pupil Premium funding to help address these. We will focus on attendance, attitudes to school and engagement with school, external factors, professional development focusing on improving outcomes for eligible pupils, improving the quality of teaching and learning, language acquisition, parental engagement, development of literacy and numeracy skills. We will use our assessment and tracking system to track and enable thorough analysis of performance to identify pupils who are underachieving and put in place relevant targeted interventions to address this. We will ensure that staff at all levels know who eligible children are and have the time and resources to track and support them appropriately. We will have a Senior Leader who will have a clear overview of how funding is allocated and the difference it is making to the outcomes of pupils termly. View full school

We are developing pupils’ resilience and ensuring that we never say we can’t do it, we just can’t do it yet. We are very proud of our multi-cultural school which serves a diverse community in Dagenham. We celebrate the diversity of the culture, religion, and ethnicity of our families and staff. We are proud to be a school that represents the world! We learn and share from one another and believe that our School is better when we respect one another. The nature of the community we serve allows us to develop and nurture a truly inclusive, vibrant, and exciting school. We welcome pupils’ who have a range of needs and ensure that they are supported, challenged, and developed to ensure that they have as many opportunities as possible. We have a strong team of adults who work incredibly hard to break down any barriers to learning to ensure that every pupil makes the best possible progress they can. The concept of nurture highlights the importance of social environments - who you're with, and not who you're born to - and its significant influence on behavior and cognitive ability. Children and young people who have a good start in life have a whole host of advantages over those who don’t have such positive experiences at home when they are little. They tend to do better at school, attend regularly, enjoy activities with friends, and are significantly less likely to offend or experience problems with poor physical or mental health. Nurture groups offer an opportunity to learn the early nurturing experiences some children and young people lack, giving them the skills to do well at school, make friends and deal more confidently and calmly with the trials and tribulations of life, for life. At William Bellamy, we feel that our pupils’ emotional and social wellbeing is extremely important and is vital to enable them to make as much academic progress as possible. Our vision is our pupils are confident learners who are proud of their achievements. We want every pupil to feel that their school is a safe place and we will give them the tools to ensure that they know how to keep themselves emotionally and physically safe. For some pupils, this is more difficult, as a school we have an extensive Nurture Team and Family Support Team who also provide that much-needed care for our pupils and their families as and when they require it. At William Bellamy Primary School we are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of all our pupils and we require all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. We have a duty of care to all our pupils to share any information about them which is a concern. We endeavor to work openly and transparently and, unless the welfare of a child is believed to be at risk, we would share any concerns with parents before sharing information with other professionals. If you have any questions about Safeguarding and Child Protection, or you have any concerns about a child, you can speak with one of our Child Protection Leads. In an ever-changing world of technology sometimes it's hard to keep up with what your children are doing online. Whilst we all want to encourage our children to develop their skills in Information and Communication Technology - it is also crucial that we protect our children from the dangers which, unfortunately, are all too common. The Governing Body is made up of people from the local community, including local councilors, parents, and staff of the school. Their main responsibility is to make sure that all decisions made are in the best interest of ALL the pupils in the school. They meet every term, subcommittees have specific responsibilities, and also meet termly. Any parent, with a child in the school, can become a parent governor if there is a vacancy. Parents will be notified when an election is to take place. Governors training is provided for governors by the school and the local authority which will equip them with the necessary skills to robustly challenge the school. View full school

- Wilkes Green Junior School is a larger than average-sized Primary School for boys and girls between seven and eleven years of age situated in the heart of Handsworth. Many pupils live beyond the immediate area served by the school. The school can admit up to 90 pupils into each year group. The school population of 360 reflects the varied ethnic backgrounds of the local families. Wilkes Green Junior School believes in the importance of providing a caring, stimulating, and structured environment, within which children are encouraged to develop relevant skills, concepts, and knowledge. Building upon the child’s existing cultural, social, and educational experience, the school seeks to ensure that each child has the opportunity to reach their full potential. The school seeks to develop in each child a sense of responsibility and self-discipline, an ability to co-operate with and relate to adults and other children, the ability to work independently and with self-motivation, a sense of positive self-esteem, physical skills, and a range of academic skills and knowledge. These elements should be relevant to the child’s existing needs as well as preparing him/her for future school experience and adult life. An important aspect of this is the ability to live and work successfully within a multi-cultural society and to value and contribute to the communities of which they are apart. Wilkes Green Junior school aims for our pupils to: Develop lively and enquiring minds. Question and debate rationally. Apply themselves diligently to tasks. Use language and numbers effectively. Understand the world in which they live. Experience success and achievement. Progress to the full extent of their ability. Be aware of equal opportunities for all and develop their talents irrespective of gender, religion, ethnic origin, or family circumstances. At Wilkes Green Junior School we are a caring community working together for quality and success in education for all our pupils. Our Core Values: We seek to develop in each child a sense of responsibility and self-discipline. We want our pupils to develop an ability to co-operate with and relate to adults and other children. We strive to develop in our pupils the ability to work independently and with self-motivation, engendering a sense of positive self-esteem. We encourage our pupils to constantly develop their physical skills and increase their range of academic skills and knowledge. We continually prepare our children for future school experiences and adult life. We endeavor to prepare our pupils to live and work successfully within a multi-cultural society and to value and contribute to the communities of which they are part. At the heart of every school is Teaching & Learning. The school works strenuously to maintain high standards to provide the very teaching and learning facilities for all our children. The school has a comprehensive ‘curriculum map’ tightly fitted to pupils’ different needs and in which different levels of planning are dovetailed very well. The curriculum is thoroughly evaluated so it is being constantly refined and improved. Physical education makes a very strong contribution to pupils’ healthy lifestyles. A very wide range of partners is used to enrich sporting and cultural opportunities. A fitness program is provided in conjunction with a local football club using both the school and the club’s premises. - Wilbury Primary School is a friendly, vibrant four-form entry primary school in Edmonton, North London with over 950 children aged 3 to 11. We have a strong ethos of inclusion, encouraging all our children to be confident and caring of themselves and those around them. We set high standards of respect, hard work, and achievement for all adults and children and we provide a very wide variety of opportunities for the children within and beyond the curriculum. We have three main values that are shared across the school: Respect, Determination, and Responsibility. These are embedded in all that we do, they are shared in assemblies and every week a child from each department who has demonstrated the values in some way during the week is chosen to receive the Values Medal. Their photo is then displayed on the ‘Values Wall’. Our School has children from a wide range of backgrounds, cultures, and religions. Inclusion is key to the ethos of the school where everyone is valued, whatever our difference. The school attained the Inclusion Quality Mark again recently and we work hard to involve everyone in school life. Parents are invited to assemblies throughout the year to celebrate Eid, Christmas, Harvest, and Passover as well as other events such as Black History Month which we celebrate each year. In addition to this, we hold a special Eid celebration and various Christmas celebrations with the whole school joining together to celebrate each other’s festivals. Our children will learn to recognize the difference between right and wrong and apply this understanding in their own lives. They will be able to recognize boundaries and, in so doing, respect rules within the school and beyond. The children are consistently helped in school to understand the consequences of their behavior and actions through the behavior system which they clearly understand. We encourage the children to be interested in investigating and offering reasoned views about moral and ethical issues so that they can understand and appreciate the viewpoints of others on these issues. The ethos of the school supports the children to understand and accept the fundamental British values of democracy, the rule of law, individual liberty, and mutual respect and tolerance of those with different faiths and beliefs. Our focus on our vision and values ensures that the children develop and demonstrate skills and attitudes that will allow them to participate fully in and contribute positively to life in modern Britain. - The aim of the school to consider each child as an individual, and central to all that is done is fulfilled."Located in West Wickham, Kent, Wickham Court is an independent co-educational day school for children from nursery through to the end of Key Stage One. We are proud to offer a superb education for your child in a historically and culturally rich setting. Our pupils are energetic, engaged, and happy they benefit from the skill and expertise of dedicated, experienced teachers and small class sizes. Your child will learn on grounds that both exude history, and provide a safe and secure environment for their learning. We aim to impart a love of learning and a reverence for ideas, something that your child will benefit from for the entirety of their academic and adult lives. By nurturing the total person, we can encourage "the genius of the individual".Our fees are very competitive because we aim to bring independent school education into the grasp of most families. You can feel secure that your children are in the best hands when you entrust us with their care and education as we are inspected by the Independent Schools Inspectorate, and registered with the Bromley Early Years Team. Wickham Court is a very special place, and it is so encouraging to see our pupils thrive in our small classes under the instruction of our dedicated, nurturing teachers. Interaction between children of all ages throughout the school is a joy to observe. We have art and music facilities that we hope will stimulate our children's aesthetic senses. You may even get the chance to see our young actors practicing their skills in our drama hall. You will note that our library and our computers not only provide valuable and practical learning tools but also open many doors and windows to the wonder that is private education. We believe that learning should go beyond the formal classroom that what a child learns in sport and games complements the purely academic. Thus, we take great pride in the school grounds, and we value the sound of our children's laughter as they run about our five acres of gardens and stately lawns Our school reflects the sense of tradition and timelessness associated with education itself, but it also profits from the best of modern texts and technology. Most importantly, it profits from the life and the energy that our children bring with them. Our Pre-School is an integral part of the wider school that offers your child the opportunity to realize their potential early on in their school life. Your child will be encouraged to develop lively and enquiring minds, with a thirst for learning that is fun and engaging. The flexible approach that we take to our Pre-School classes means that we can arrange times to suit you that your child will spend with us. We amend the cost of these sessions in line with this. Your child will be cherished, and be a significant part of the family atmosphere that exists throughout the school. Your child will not only benefit from the care and expertise of our teaching staff but also the care and attention of the older children in the school. From the age of two years and six months, your child can join the Tiny Tudors. This is based on the ground floor of the castle, with direct access to a large outside terrace, complete with playhouses and wet play equipment. Specialist teachers work with the children in French, music, drama, and sports starting at Nursery. Just like a building, future learning is based on firm foundations so priority is given to reading, comprehension, writing, and numeracy in the first three years. Once your child reaches the age of four, learning becomes more formally structured, practicing letters, numbers, and engaging in whole-class learning. This approach provides a stepping stone to Reception class and lays strong foundations for their academic and personal future. During your child’s time in the Reception class, they will be encouraged to build concentration, take responsibility for leading the class as it moves about the building, and returning the register as ‘class leader’. We encourage children to borrow a library book each week and aim to instill in your child a love of reading, and a sense of responsibility. By reading to their class teacher every day, we can identify areas where your child might struggle early on, to ensure that your child is given the best support possible throughout their time at Wickham Court. We are proud to boast five acres of secure grounds where children can expend energy and enjoy outdoor learning. When your child is in Nursery, they have access to an enclosed grassed area that is equipped with slides, see-saws, a Wendy House, and other outdoor play equipment. Play is a key tool in the development of social interaction, we are confident that your child will return home happily tired, having used most of their boundless energy during their school day. Throughout your child’s time at Nursery, they will be equipped with the tools to flourish further on in the school. We encourage empathy, kindness, and consideration for other people as well as placing firm foundations for a love of learning, and an enquiring mind. When your child leaves the Nursery, we anticipate that they will have learned to work with a degree of independence, recognize and form letters, and be proficient in handling numbers up to 10. However, once these objectives are reached, we do not stop encouraging their development and endeavor to provide an environment where your child is constantly engaged. View full school

The inspection team commented on the “outstanding progress” and “exemplary behavior” demonstrated by our students, our “commitment to making sure that all students achieve their best” and the “exceptional” support for spiritual, moral, social, and cultural development which our students receive. A copy of the Ofsted report is available on the school website. We care for our students as individuals and support them to be happy, confident, and successful young people. We stretch and challenge them to achieve their very best in all aspects of school life, and we provide a wide range of pastoral and extra-curricular opportunities to enrich their personal development. Whitmore is a popular and oversubscribed school. We have close and supportive links with our local primary schools, but also welcome students from outside this network. At Whitmore High School we aim to provide the best possible education for all our students by: Promoting a broad and balanced curriculum in which students take an active part in their learning. Recognizing the needs of individuals, placing suitable high demands on them, and stimulating them to achieve success. Encouraging students to aim for the highest standards of work and behavior at all times. Creating an ordered and friendly community where relationships are positive and founded on courtesy, respect, and shared values. Acknowledging the importance of links between home, school, and the wider community. Maintaining a spirit of constructive self-criticism, regularly considering improvements to existing practice.

- Preparing young men for the challenges and opportunities of tomorrow is something we only get the chance to do once, whether as teachers or as parents. By the time they leave us, many of the things that make them who they are – their beliefs, values, and sense of self – will already be forming, if not formed. It’s an enormous shared responsibility, and one that has particular significance within the special context of a boys’ school, given the many challenges young men growing up today will face. The question then is how best to prepare them for the changing world they will come to shape. At Whitgift, we believe the answer lies in knowing, valuing, and challenging every individual, stretching and supporting them in equal measure. Whitgift is unashamedly ambitious when it comes to academic performance, but we know results alone are not everything. To truly succeed, students need more than just knowledge. They will need the confidence and resilience to embrace new challenges, they will need an open mind that is global in its outlook, and they will need the emotional maturity and moral grounding to be a force for good in the communities they serve. We are incredibly proud of the young men who leave us and what they achieve. We are particularly proud they come from such a diverse range of backgrounds, thanks in part to the generous bursary and scholarship schemes we can offer. Indeed, alongside our academic philosophy, comprehensive pastoral support, and fantastic co-curricular program, the incredible mix of boys who come here is one of the things that makes Whitgift such a truly special place to learn. For more than 400 years, Whitgift has been transforming boys’ lives through education. Whitgift 2025 was created as a result of the input and imagination of staff and students and the next few years will represent an exciting time of evolution for the school, both in terms of our site development plan and the educational partnerships we are embarking on. Our overarching vision is: "Educating bright and talented young men, whatever their background, to become independent learners and thinkers, to achieve beyond what they believed they could, and to leave us ready to give back to the society in which they will be leaders." Please take a moment to hear more from our staff and students, as well as reading more about our plans. Whitgift School has a long and fascinating history. Many of the values of the founder, John Whitgift, are still felt at the heart of the School today. In March 1596, John Whitgift, Archbishop of Canterbury laid the foundation stones of his hospital at North End, Croydon for the poor. Attached to the hospital was a grammar school conducted by the chief official of the hospital – the schoolmaster and chaplain. The School, which opened in 1600, paved the way for the ‘Whitgift’ of today. Whitgift is a leading independent day and boarding school for boys aged 10 to 18 with an innovative Junior Years curriculum, strong academic focus, and broad co-curricular provision. We also offer full, weekly, and flexible boarding from the age of 13. View full school
