Job DescriptionThe Federal Strategic Pursuits Team (SPT) is seeking a Strategic Pursuits Manager — the principal deal leader for the most consequential AI and cloud opportunities in the federal civilian market. You will assemble and lead pursuit teams to win our most strategic contracts worth $50M+ that change the trajectory of the business. If you thrive on competitive intensity, can translate ambiguity into structured action, and want to shape how the U.S. government adopts AI, this role is for you. This position requires that the candidate selected be a US Citizen.Key job responsibilities- Assemble and lead cross-functional compete teams — including proposal, solution architecture, legal, pricing, and partner resources — to win high-value AI and cloud opportunities from early shaping through award- Develop and execute campaign-style win strategies for complex, large competitive procurements, including comprehensive win plans mapping stakeholders, competitors, evaluation criteria, pricing dynamics, and win themes- Conduct disciplined qualification — walking away from deals that are unwinnable or too costly to win is as important as winning the ones we pursue- Influence requirements and position AWS AI and cloud solutions well before formal solicitations are released through deep customer engagement and stakeholder mapping- Own the quality of all customer-facing deliverables — contributing directly, inspecting work product from the proposal team, and ensuring every artifact advances the competitive position- Provide direct strategic guidance to senior leadership on pipeline health, competitive positioning, and pursuit investment decisionsA day in the lifeYou operate between two modes: deep tactical involvement on must-win pursuits and broad strategic thinking across a large pipeline. On any given day, you may be directing technical approaches, pressure-testing a pricing strategy with leadership, mapping the political landscape of a customer's decision-making body, or inspecting a deliverable before it reaches the customer. But no two deals are the same. You adapt your approach continuously as the market, customer, and competitive landscape shift. The bulk of your success happens well before an RFP drops: meeting with stakeholders, influencing requirements, and positioning AWS AI and cloud solutions. Job DescriptionApplication deadline: Jul 7, 2026Today, Amazon Web Services provides a highly reliable, scalable, low-cost infrastructure platform in the cloud that powers hundreds of thousands of businesses in 190 countries around the world. The AWS Cloud infrastructure is built around Regions and Availability Zones (AZs). AWS Regions provide multiple, physically separated and isolated Availability Zones which are connected with low latency, high throughput, and highly redundant networking. These Availability Zones offer AWS customers an easier and more effective way to design and operate applications and databases, making them more highly available, fault tolerant, and scalable than traditional single datacenter infrastructures or multi-datacenter infrastructures. How would you like to come be part of the team that builds out that low latency, high throughput, and highly redundant network? Amazon Web Services is looking for a highly motivated, commercial and technically savvy Senior Backbone Network Developer to help develop and scale one of the world’s largest and most complex networks. We develop new and innovative ways to scale and expand our network, whilst delivering operational excellence to our stakeholders. This opportunity sits within our Backbone Network Development organization for the Americas, where the team is responsible for planning, developing and acquiring the network that drive Amazon’s internal infrastructure. The Senior Backbone Network Developer will be a subject matter expert in the telecommunications marketplace, experienced with vendors, physical network infrastructure, optical technologies and backbone network engineering. This role requires collaboration, and synthesising a technical vendor strategy across the AWS network topology. This individual would actively drive commercial and technical vendor network strategy within North America, working with suppliers, technology partners, as well as the AWS service teams to meet our customer’s demands. We support all AWS data centers and all of the servers, storage, networking, power, and cooling equipment that ensure our customers have continual access to the innovation they rely on. We work on the most challenging problems, with thousands of variables impacting the supply chain — and we’re looking for talented people who want to help. You’ll join a diverse team of software, hardware, and network engineers, supply chain specialists, security experts, operations managers, and other vital roles. You’ll collaborate with people across AWS to help us deliver the highest standards for safety and security while providing seemingly infinite capacity at the lowest possible cost for our customers. And you’ll experience an inclusive culture that welcomes bold ideas and empowers you to own them to completion.Key job responsibilitiesServe as a key member of the Americas Backbone Network Development team helping to drive overall Network Infrastructure strategy. Track overall telecoms market trends and developments in terms of vendor technologies, coverage, cost and deal structures. Manage the suppliers onboarding, relationship, performance, and service quality. Anticipate bottlenecks, manage risk and escalations, and balance the business needs versus technical constraints.
