National Institute of Development Administration

The National Institute of Development Administration, or NIDA, is "a leading national institution which fosters leaders and knowledge for a universal change." It is established in B.E. 2509 and has been operating for almost 50 years for the education of master's degree and doctorate levels. All through the past period, the institute has created quality executives in various fields to serve the society, under the royal wish of His Majesty the King in the institute's inception. The National Institute of Development Administration has set its goal towards being a World Class University and the central pillar in the development of administrative science and the production of the country's leading executives with readiness completely arranged in all dimensions: whether it is excellent teaching where all faculties are certified according to the Thai Qualifications Framework for Higher Education, and excellent-level assessments. Also, the institute has received the highest score of operation evaluation by various organizations in Thailand. As for personnel, the institute comprises the country's foremost staff of teachers and personnel. The institute is considered an educational institution with the highest proportions of doctorate-level instructors and academic-position holding instructors in Thailand.

Moreover, the National Institute of Development Administration also has expertise in performing research and academic services in many fields, recognized domestically and internationally as providing accurate and precise results and playing an essential part in the development and settlement of organizations' policies in both public and private sectors. The institute has an academic network at national and international levels in diverse regions all around the world. Another aspect that makes us proud is our role in social responsibility in instilling in our students, personnel, and staff of teachers consciousness of virtue, ethics, commitment to righteousness and fairness for a public interest, rather than their interest, as well as the fact that the institute has always contributed to proposing solutions to problems when our society needs. NIDA will continue to be the central pillar in developing the country's administrative science and creating qualified executives to serve our society and country.

NIDA was initially established to support national development in Thailand. This objective has now been expanded to encompass regional development in countries outside of Thailand, to produce advanced degree graduates who can serve in the public, business, and nonprofit sectors. Currently, NIDA is a state-supported graduate institution with university status, and it is one of very few higher education institutions in Thailand that offer exclusively graduate degree programs.

NIDA's vision is founded upon : (1) its dedication to service, and (2) its role in international, national, and regional development. NIDA's extensive service orientation is apparent in its responsiveness to community needs, its continuing education programs, and much of its consulting services, research, and training activities. NIDA is determined to expand its human, institutional, and geographic outreach, making an even more considerable contribution in the immediate future.

NIDA is a dynamic, unique, service-oriented graduate institution that seeks to meet many of Thailand's and the region's critical needs in development administration. Recognizing the increasing interdependence of nations across the globe and responding to Thailand's Plan for Higher Education's priorities, NIDA seeks to meet the new challenges of international cooperation, understanding, and service.

Through teaching, training, research, and consulting, NIDA provides its students with the necessary knowledge, analytical ability, and other skills to be applied at the community, national, and international levels. NIDA's several schools, centers, and support services are constantly evolving as they adopt the latest technology and methodology.

NIDA is recognized as a top-quality institution. Faculty members' task performance significantly contributes to NIDA's education excellence. Eighty-five percent of the faculty members hold doctoral degrees or equivalent. NIDA's present and former faculty members play essential roles and serve many vital positions to regulate national policies and direct national development and administration.

NIDA is well-known as a unique higher education institute in Thailand that provides men and women at the graduate level with various skills necessary for public policy planning, decision making, and management in the public and private sectors.
