      1. Since it was established in 2014, SIA has enjoyed a reputation that qualified it to gain the trust of parents as well as the accreditation of respected educational organizations. In the year 2014, the school has been inspected by the Edexcel accredited visit for Quality Assurance Review. The visit has resulted in accrediting the school by the committee, a fact that urged all the school staff to exert more effort not only to keep what they gained but also to achieve more. Then, opening classes of senior grades, 10 to 12, in the year 2015-2016 encouraged so many students to join the school that the total number increased from 520 in 2015-2016 to more than 850 in 2016-2017. The school was re-accredited by the Accreditation International Organization in 2015 for 5 years based on the new standards of accrediting the American schools. Also, one important breakthrough that the school has achieved is that it has become an accredited SAT Test Center since December 2017. This rising rate of students ‘number reflects the credibility that SIA is enjoying in not only Irbid city but also in other surrounding cities, many parents put SIA as a priority when it is time to register for school. The concept of development is always there at SIA to achieve what is best for students and the whole educational process. As a result, the school has put plans to form new premises well facilitated and equipped to meet the standards of an institution of American curriculum. The school always keeps its commitment towards parents and students of the ongoing process of improvement. Since the beginning of implementing the American curriculum within the school, a lot of efforts have been and are still being exerted to help students go through this curriculum as well as pass the SAT I and SAT II exams. Applying the delivery methods that help students grasp the contents of different subjects in interactive ways is a privilege that is always available at SIA. Lessons of SAT I English and Math, and SAT II different subjects are formally set within the weekly schedules of 10th, 11th, and 12th graders. Many teachers at SIA are qualified enough to conduct lessons on SAT I and SAT II subjects. Standardized tests- MAP in English (reading & language) and Mathematics are used at school to norm students globally. Other forms of standardized tests in English, Math and Science (biology, chemistry, and physics) are being given to students to prepare them for the real SAT I and SAT II tests. The school provides miscellaneous activities as an integral part of the educational process, encouraging students’ participation to enhance their learning skills. The intimate atmosphere within the school premises helps all teachers as well as students, to forget about their races and mingle in a unified environment vital to the success of the teaching/learning process. At our schools, we do believe that education is an invaluable mission that helps create future leaders. We instill in our students today what we hope they will successfully harvest tomorrow. Our target is not only to empower students with the knowledge and skills for a life-long learning journey but also to reinforce attitudes, morals, and manners that grow out of our religious beliefs and that will support them in a constantly changing world. 2. Summit Micro School is a private school in west Toronto with students from many corners of the city including Etobicoke, north Toronto, downtown, and around our area of Bloor West Village and Baby Point. At Summit Micro School we believe that all students have the potential to be active, independent thinkers and learners. Confidence and motivation are the seeds of life-long learning and with these, education can be an exploration of ideas and values. Student engagement is critical to inspire students to pursue their interests and push their limits of achievement. Effective education must prepare students with the skills needed for success in an ever-changing world. At Summit Micro School we meet the changing educational demands that students face in the 21st Century with a skill-based curriculum and a strong academic foundation. We give priority to developing skills of collaboration, communication, and critical thinking. While fostering a sense of global mindedness as well as self-awareness, students are given opportunities to stand in their strengths and build a personal sense of citizenship. Depending on what part of the world they are located in, Micro Schools are often independent or private schools offering an alternative to mainstream schools. Curriculum and methodologies vary from school to school but the essential component is their small size. Often, the micro-school model is counter to the industrial age educational model and its impersonal, standardized environment. Micro schools thrive on an approach that reaches the whole child within community-building skills needed to adapt to today’s world and beyond. Summit Micro School started as ‘High Park Day School’ with a vision, three students and two passionate, experienced educators. HPDS quickly became a place where kids wanted to be and were motivated to learn. As the school grew, we expanded our goals and purpose to provide an education that will help prepare today’s youth for success and to develop the skills students need for effective learning in the “21st Century”. Incorporating current evidence-based research we introduced Project-Based Learning as our core curriculum approach. Our programs continued to grow to include our “Maker Space” and STEM program and a Reggio-Emilia Inspired Kindergarten program. Doing what few schools in the city have done as an educational model, we have become leaders in many areas of progressive education. As of August 2018, High Park Day School took on its new identity as Summit Micro School. Our name is now reflective of our vision and mission to continuously push the limits of education to new heights as we move forward so that we can continue to offer our community a responsive education for our modern world. We know that a positive experience in the first years of a child’s education is critical to establish a love of learning and future success as a student. Our Primary Program provides small classes in a nurturing environment to foster the development of the whole child and support inquiry and exploration. Guided and inspired by the Reggio Emilia approach, we focus on fostering self-esteem and self-respect because we understand that these traits set the stage for a lifetime of confidence, kindness, and empathy. Reggio Emilia programs aim to develop curiosity, exploration, and problem-solving skills through the liberal use of “projects”. Teachers frame children’s interests based on an emergent project-based curriculum that emphasizes collaboration, reflection, and dialogue. These projects may be geared to an individual student, a small group of students, or the class as a whole. Projects can last from a few days to the whole year and incorporate art and other different forms of media as part of the children’s many “languages”. Teachers actively participate in projects alongside students, rather than sitting back and observing. A high degree of parent involvement is also encouraged, particularly when forming curriculums and project plans which happens throughout the academic year. Reggio Emilia programs foster inquiry and curiosity through exploration and play. Watch how a provocation about patterns develops into rich learning experiences and an exciting project for our JK and SK students. Our Junior School program focuses on developing a strong academic foundation, confidence, and learning skills. An emphasis on character and community citizenship allows students to recognize their impact both as individuals and as part of a collaborative team. Students are inspired to work towards their true potential and meet the challenges of a rigorous program. Small classes offer a strengths-based approach to learning. Our Inquiry and Project-Based Learning approach drives students to engage in work that has context and purpose. Our students strive towards developing a deeper understanding of content and connecting complex concepts while becoming active participants in their learning. Language and Literacy, Social Studies, Art, History, Geography, and Media Literacy are integrated through exciting units of themed study. Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM) are combined logically as they are in real life, during hands-on, experiential lessons. Our middle school program focuses on building strong academic knowledge and skills to prepare students for success in high school, and life. An emphasis on character and citizenship allows students to recognize their impact both as individuals and as part of a collaborative team, inspiring them to work towards their true potential. Small classes support development that leads to confident students who know how to stand in their strengths. Our middle school curriculum is rigorous and challenging. 4. Rossland Summit School welcomes students from Kindergarten to Grade 9. Our community-based school is located in the West Kootenay region of British Columbia in the Selkirk Mountains. We offer a safe and fun learning environment where students thrive. RSS offers a Late French Immersion program, sports, clubs, and student activities throughout the year. Our staff members are dedicated, well qualified, and enthusiastic about delivering a high education standard to all students. Staff, students, and parents work together to develop the knowledge, skills, and attitudes necessary for strong academic, social, and emotional growth. The Foundation Skills Assessments (FSA's) are an annual province-wide assessment of British Columbia students' academic skills and provides a snapshot of how well BC students are learning foundation skills in Reading Comprehension, Writing, and Numeracy. The assessment's primary purpose is to help the province, school districts, schools, and school planning councils evaluate how well students are achieving the necessary skills and make plans to improve student achievement. FSA is designed and developed by British Columbia educators. The skills assessed are linked to the provincial curriculum and provincial performance standards. The assessment is administered annually to Grade 4 and 7 students in public and provincially funded independent schools. An annual survey of students in grades 4, 7, 10, and 12, their parents and school staff administered since 2002 in British Columbia public schools. The Survey was developed with input from partner groups, experts in educational measurement and special education, and early-grade teachers. Each year feedback from participants is considered in order to improve the survey questions and features. Students choosing not to meet these expectations will be subject to interventions and actions within the School District Student Code of Conduct Regulations. The district and school's responsibility is to work with support staff, community agencies, and parents to support students in meeting these expectations outlined in the Code of Conduct. To facilitate the development of appropriate student social skills, the Board will provide preventative and motivational initiatives in schools, which might include, but are not limited to: Teaching appropriate behaviors Peer counseling Parental and community involvement Alternative out-of-school learning experiences Teaching conflict resolution and problem-solving skills Self-esteem building Professional counseling Restorative justice Referrals to other agencies Wireless access is available in our school. This network is open to all students and staff who wish to bring personal devices from home. While no technical support can be provided for personal devices, there are instructions to help you connect. In-School District #20, every student has the right to an appropriate educational program, be treated respectfully and judiciously, freedom of expression conducted respectfully and formal means for expressing concerns, an appeal process regarding decisions of Board employees which significantly affect the education, health, or safety of students, privacy and confidentiality relating to student records, be taught expected behavior and school/district codes of conduct, be assisted when exhibiting behavior which differs from age-appropriate expectations and which seriously interferes with their learning and the learning of others. All students should have equitable access to learning, opportunities for achievement, and the pursuit of excellence in all aspects of their educational programs. For information or referral, contact the Inclusion Support Team or Administration. Rossland Summit School provided exceptional Late French Immersion (LFI) programming, Grades 6 through 9.
      5. Welcome to St. Paul Academy and Summit School! SPA is an independent K-12 school with two beautiful campuses in the heart of Saint Paul's Macalester-Groveland neighborhood. At SPA, we work hard to deliver the tangible elements of an exceptional educational experience, but what makes our school unique is intangible. Parents and students tell us that they feel a particular kind of energy when they walk through our doors: an openness and warmth that reflect our values and culture. We invite you to discover what makes SPA so extraordinary: our curriculum, the diversity of our community, and above all, our mission: to shape the minds and the hearts of the people who will change the world. At SPA, students are challenged by what we believe is the best academic curriculum in Minnesota. They are supported by the individual attention possible by the lowest average class size of comparable independent schools in the state: Lower School classes average 13 students, Middle School classes average 15 students, and Upper School classes average 14 students. Across all three divisions, our student/teacher ratio is 8:1. Small class sizes, however, are just the beginning. The SPA curriculum takes advantage of those small classes through an academic program designed to build both skill and confidence at every grade level. In the Lower School, these small classes, each led by a teaching team of two homeroom teachers, allow for a thorough and age-appropriate introduction to intellectual inquiry. The careful use of differentiation--grouping students into small learning cohorts--allows master teachers to offer plenty of attention and individualized guidance to our youngest students. Educational technology is introduced in Kindergarten and is integrated into learning in both the homerooms and specialist classes. In the Middle School, an increasingly rigorous curriculum is supported by Developmental Designs for Middle School, a social-emotional pedagogy in which teachers push students intellectually while still offering them the support they need to navigate young adolescence. The advisory system is a fundamental component of this support, as is the continued use of educational technology, emphasizing digital citizenship, and online safety. By the time they enter Upper School, students are ready for SPA's challenging and innovative college preparatory program that emphasizes discussion-based learning, advanced inquiry, the lively discussion around Harkness seminar tables, and deep engagement with ideas. As students prepare for life after SPA, our extensive College Counseling program begins, with each student assigned one of three full-time College Counselors in Grade 10. Our mission—to shape the minds and the hearts of the people who will change the world—is a promise to our students and our families. It is intentionally ambitious, so it will push us to be thoughtful about everything we do. It inspires us to be our best and reminds us that we have the responsibility to respect every child's unique potential. There are thousands of decisions made every day by teachers, administrators, and students. In sum, these decisions serve to define who and what we are. We ask everyone in our community to use our mission statement as a filter: is this decision aligned with our mission? The mission also sets a high standard for our students. We shape their minds by teaching them how to think clearly and creatively. We shape their hearts by teaching them how to be sensitive to the personal struggles of others. In the end, we open doors, show them pathways, and support their passions. It is then up to each of them to choose their direction, apply their talents, and embrace their potential. Our mission gives us purpose. It represents our greatest aspirations and values. But most of all, it reflects our deep belief in the talents and capabilities of our students. 7. 8. To ensure that each student achieves his or her highest personal potential. 9. The Summit has been a school of choice since 1890 for families in Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky who value academic excellence and character development. Private, Catholic, and independent. The Summit is a leader in early childhood education. Students thrive in a Montessori preschool and are enriched by a college preparatory program through high school. For more than a century, The Summit Country Day School has maintained a proud legacy of excellence in independent, Catholic education. We offer a superb coeducational learning experience to students from Montessori preschool through grade 12 from throughout the metropolitan Cincinnati area. A nationally recognized leader in character education, The Summit offers a compelling combination of small classes, caring faculty, academic rigor, and strong spiritual values. We view ourselves as stewards of God's creation, and we partner with parents to develop each child into a well-rounded human being. Other schools may focus their efforts on helping children get into the right college successfully. However, our goal is to develop children who can not only navigate college successfully but go on to succeed in life. Our alumni are equipped with the skills and the global perspective to improve the world they inherit. The evident success of The Summit Way is measurable and continues to attract discerning Cincinnati families to our doors. While we can point to many measurable standards of The Summit's continuing and lasting success, we do not believe ratings are what is most important or what distinguishes Summit from other schools. We believe how the school helps to develop every child is paramount. Evident success with one child compels other children's parents to seek out a Summit education for their progeny. Catholic Context in the Notre Dame Tradition: Our role model in life is Jesus Christ, who calls each one of us to lead lives of love, leadership, and service to others. These values guide the character development of the children in our care. Also, we respect, embrace, and learn from other faith traditions. The legacy of the Sisters is a thread that runs through the fabric of this school and distinguishes Summit from all other secular schools in town. Every Child – The fundamental principle behind a Notre Dame education is developing a well-rounded child. The five pillars (academic, spiritual, physical, social, and artistic) define critical areas to be developed. Within those areas, teachers, staff, and coaches teach the skills, behaviors, and knowledge required for long term success. They seek to know, understand and love every child. This core ideology helps our students reach their full potential and distinguishes Summit from the mass education schools in town. High Expectations: Much is expected from all those fortunate to be a part of the Summit community. An undercurrent of excellence flows around all that we do. Our motto is "Aim High," and that applies to all people and activities on campus. This approach to life and educating children is what guides teachers and coaches to bring out the best in every child. Few schools in Cincinnati are as exacting and demanding as the Summit Country Day School. Innovation: People sometimes joke that nothing ever changes at Summit, but history shows a false perception. From the Sisters' days to today, Summit identifies changing circumstances, researches best practices, experiments with ways to address change, analyze the results, keeps what works, and discards what does not. Naturally, the professional development of our faculty is a high priority. No conventional educational theory describes how Summit helps children grow in grace and wisdom. Our teaching style is eclectic; the resulting approach to educating students is unique, innovative, and has stood the test of time. The success of The Summit Way is evident. Our alumni are equipped with the skills and the global perspective to improve the world they inherit. As long as we remain loyal to these hallmarks of an excellent education, Summit will last for the next 120 years and beyond. The mission of The Summit Country Day School is to challenge every student, faculty, and staff member to share fully the gifts that have been given to them by God to grow in grace and wisdom to develop spiritually, academically, physically, socially and artistically and to become leaders of character who value and improve the world they inherit. The assessment is administered annually to Grade 4 and 7 students in public and provincially funded independent schools. An annual survey of students in grades 4, 7, 10, and 12, their parents and school staff administered since 2002 in British Columbia public schools.
