The St. Pölten UAS LLC is locally anchored, globally-connected, and stands for qualitative academic education in the departments of Rail Technology and Mobility, Health Sciences, Computer Science and Security, Media, and Digital Technologies, Media and Economics, and Social Sciences. The linking of teaching and researching issues creates room for interdisciplinary scientific findings, products, and solutions for the economy and society. More than 3,000 students receive a practice-oriented academic education in 17 study programs and numerous continuing education courses. Students from our Erasmus partner universities in Europe may study at St. Pölten UAS for a semester or academic year, supported by an Erasmus grant. If your home university has a bilateral co-operation agreement (but not an Erasmus agreement) with St. Pölten UAS, you may apply centrally to the International Office at your home university for a study-abroad period. Students at a higher education institution outside Europe who have completed at least four semesters of their current course of study may apply for an Ernst Mach grant to study at an Austrian university of applied sciences. The Ernst Mach grant is available for a semester or academic year. Graduate students and post-docs at institutes of higher education in any country may apply for a research stay of 1 or 2 semesters at an Austrian university of applied sciences. The decision on the award of a grant is primarily based on the nature of the research project in question. EPS at St. Pölten University of Applied Sciences is embedded in the Department of Media and Digital Technologies and focuses on Media Technology and Media Production. The projects are carried out in co-operation with technology and the creative industries. EPS students work in international project teams, and alongside they attend lectures relevant to the successful completion of the projects. They acquire skills in audio and video editing, which help to prepare the perfect project presentation. Team-building events and organized social activities also form an essential part of the project semester. Each semester starts with an Orientation Week for International Students. All exchange students are asked to attend the Orientation Week without fail. You will receive much valuable information, and you will be allocated to your academic tutor. The Library of St. Pölten UAS is a public, academic library open to everyone With a current stock of around 35,000 items, the St. Pölten UAS Library offers specialized resources in the fields of media studies, digital media technology, social work, healthcare, physiotherapy, economics and business studies, computer science and security, and rail technology. The library is open to the general public. External users may borrow items if they have a library card, which can be obtained from the library helpdesk for € 5.00. To register, external users need proof of identity. Modernization of teaching even before the start of the wide-scale accreditation of Bachelor and Master courses, the St. Pölten UAS had prepared the way for modernization of teaching in line with the Bologna declaration. By integrating new forms of teaching and studying, including e-learning, St. Pölten University of Applied Sciences aims to equip students with the skills needed to make them fit for the challenges of our modern information society. To master this challenge, the St. Pölten UAS has introduced the support facility "SKILL." The St. Pölten UAS offers its own media channels in areas like television, print, and radio. At the campus media, media talents can transform 'dull theory' into lively knowledge. Regardless of the field of study, - everybody may contribute. In the electronics lab, students in technical fields of study apply their first theoretically acquired knowledge in simple and practical exercises. Along with specific laboratory equipment, computer-based simulation programs for assessing and evaluating test results of circuit arrangements are available. View full university
