NPUST, located on a hillside in northeastern Neipu Township in Pingtung, occupies 285 hectares adjacent to Da-Wu Mountain and Dong-Gang Creek, with the largest and most beautiful campus the nation. The arrangement and construction of each campus building were based upon the topography of the campus landscape. NPUST has enjoyed the reputation of being a "National Park University." The campus is impressively gorgeous, like a natural park possessing countryside characteristics with vast views, picturesque scenery, and a peaceful atmosphere. It is also an ideal place for the faculty to teach and conduct research. NPUST is a science and technology institution with a long history of more than 80 years. To fulfill the mission of professional education, the Office of Research and Development (ORD) of the university promotes basic research on campus. It encourages our faculty to be involved in industry-academia collaboration. To carry out a variety of services for industry-academia collaboration, we have set up several specialized research centers at the university level or college level on campus and established various technological service centers in academic departments or graduate institutes. As part of our university R&D policy, the ORD is actively involved in implementing "product-oriented research (POR)." The goal is to devote our faculty's research to meet the industry's needs and the market. The ORD acts as an intermediate between university faculty and industry through the platforms of "patent portfolio," "patent protection," "industry-academia collaboration," and "innovation and incubation," The ORD delivers quintessential academic research to the industry under the conditions of safety, dignity, legitimacy, convenience, and reciprocity to manifest the benefits of intellectual property and assist the industry in their business continuity. The ultimate goal is to move NPUST into the top 100 Asian universities shortly. NPUST has been collaborating with the International Cooperation and Development Fund (ICDF) since 1998 to provide full scholarships and English programs to international students from countries that have a diplomatic relationship with Taiwan. NPUST also grants baccalaureate, master, and doctoral degrees to foreign students who receive a scholarship from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Education, and the National Science Council. To further enhance the internationalization of NPUST, the university also offers full scholarships to international students from countries that do not have a diplomatic relationship with Taiwan. Like other universities, on Office of Student Affairs offers services to every student at NPUST in the following sections: Life Guidance Section, Extracurricular Activities on Section, Sanitation & Health Care Section, and Student Counseling Section. Although our routine services are quite similar to other universities', we make every effort to make them unique and compelling. A unique program called "Spiritual Farming" was initiated by the Student Counseling Section. In this program, we persist in the faith of "Pursue Happiness & Enjoying Life by Helping." Through helping people, serving the community, and participating in various activities, students may help themselves. Students may also reveal their self-consciousness and take advantage of their potential to explore their life. To integrate theory with hands-on learning opportunities, NPUST has well-equipped teaching and practice facilities, a library comprising over 300,000 volumes of books, access to various electronic databases and audio-video facilities, and optical fiber and wireless internet network connectivity to every corner on campus. The university also houses the National Botanical Garden, the Center for Wildlife Conservation and Management, the Art and Culture Industry Innovation and Incubation Center, various exhibition farms, specimen collection centers, and a large, well-equipped gymnasium. National Pingtung University (NPTU) is located in Pingtung county, which sits in the southernmost of Taiwan's 19 counties. With a population of over 900,000, Pingtung is a bustling marketing and industrial center. Pingtung County is one of Taiwan's significant agricultural production zones, yielding rice and other products enjoyed throughout the island. National Pingtung University (NPTU) was founded on August 1, 2014, upon the National Pingtung University of Education and National Pingtung Institute of Commerce. NPTU OIA is the comprehensive home for international students and scholar's services, international undergraduate admissions, study abroad planning for faculty and students, and community connections programs. All services and activities are intended to help enrich international students' and scholars' experiences on campus and expand global engagement for students, faculty, and staff.
