National Pingtung University

National Pingtung University (NPTU) is located in Pingtung county, which sits in the southernmost of Taiwan's 19 counties. With a population of over 900,000, Pingtung is a bustling marketing and industrial center. Pingtung County is one of Taiwan's significant agricultural production zones, yielding rice and other products enjoyed throughout the island. Pingtung has a justified reputation as a lush and prosperous region.
After being merged, NPTU has become a mix of standard, managerial, computer science, technological, and higher education within one university in Pingtung County.
National Pingtung University (NPTU) was founded on August 1, 2014, upon the National Pingtung University of Education and National Pingtung Institute of Commerce. NPTU is a comprehensive university advocating academic freedom that emphasizes holistic learning and concern. Due to such recent changes in the educational environment as the focus on developing a more global outlook both on campus and in society, the decreasing birth rate, and a shortage of talent, NPTU aims to prepare students by providing them with practical and professional skills, as well as the reasoning and holistic qualities to function competently in a global environment.
In our quest for excellence, NPTU actively pursues global academic and research trends to develop and achieve success in various professional fields. NPTU strives to build upon its forerunner schools' excellent traditions in humanities, art, business, management, science, and education by combining industry, academia, research, and local resources to form a teaching and research university comprehensive and professional. The mission of NPTU is to persistently strive for innovation and excellence, pursue national and international academic trends, and to combine industry and academia with Taiwan's natural and social resources in order to develop a university with wide-ranging features that include business, management, information, education, humanities, and arts, to cultivate students with a view of global citizenship suitable for meeting the needs of society.

NPTU offers multiple educational tracks, including higher education, teacher preparation, and vocational and technological education, allowing for interdisciplinary learning opportunities. Through the integration of its facilities and resources, NPTU aims to advance the faculty's teaching and research capabilities and enhance our students' global competitiveness by offering more significant student learning resources and career development skills to empower students and faculty to achieve competitiveness and sustainable development.
National Pingtung University will utilize its resources to provide services to local industries and implement industry-academia cooperation with the goal of "giving back to the place what has been taken from it," to benefit teachers, students, industries, society, and the country and give Pingtung a bright future.
NPTU OIA is the comprehensive home for international students and scholar's services, international undergraduate admissions, study abroad planning for faculty and students, and community connections programs. All services and activities are intended to help enrich international students' and scholars' experiences on campus and expand global engagement for students, faculty, and staff. On August 1, 2014, and initially focused on creating several international education and research exchange partnerships. Today, OIA has educational partners on three sections and has expanded its focus to include international student services.
