Every child is entitled to a good education, with equal access to knowledge, skills, opportunities, aspirations, life chances, and dignity. Your child deserves the best from this school and we seek to provide this in many ways, the most important of which are a well-planned and well-taught curriculum, using the Culloden way of learning, in an environment where the safety and well-being of our pupils are paramount. However, teachers and school staff cannot do this on their own. When a school community works on this together excellent results can be achieved. This includes parents and/or carers supporting their children at home by encouraging learning, good conduct, and high expectations. With this community effort, you can see your children reach their full potential. Parents play a really important part in the life of our school. They play a particularly important part in their own children’s learning. We encourage parents/carers to come to school, at every opportunity. We encourage parents/carers to help in classrooms, to be available or to go on school trips, and to come into assemblies but the first thing we ask them to do is to get their children to come to school on time and ready to learn. We are an inclusive school, which means that we feel that every child should be able to participate in every aspect of school life with a sense of belonging and a sense of being valued. Our community is working towards a society in which there are a common vision and sense of belonging by all. The diversity of all pupils’ and adults’ backgrounds and circumstances should be appreciated and valued. We are committed to developing strong and positive relationships within our school and the wider community so that similar life opportunities are available to all. High expectations mean expecting the best and accepting nothing less. High expectations must drive our vision and determine the next steps required. Global Paradigm International School is a private international co-educational day school, which offers an educational program from Pre-K through Grade 12 for students of all nationalities. The school was founded in September 2009. The school is owned by El-Rabwa Integrated for Educational Services, which is comprised of five shareholders. Two of the shareholders are on the Governing Board of Directors of the company. The school has its Board of Trustees which includes parents, school management, administrators, and teachers. The Board of Trustees works in coordination with the Governing Board of Directors of Al-Rabwa Company to ensure the stable flow of operations of the school. Our mission is to develop young citizens with active and creative minds, a sense of understanding and compassion for others, and the courage to act on their beliefs. Within a caring, respectful environment, the school is committed to instilling in each student a desire to learn, to take appropriate risks, and to accept challenges. Creative and research-based instructional techniques are used to enhance life-long learning. All aspects of the school’s organization, curricular, and co-curricular activities are student-centered and designed to accommodate individual learning styles. GPS became an IB World School in March 2015. We offer the IB Diploma Program for Grades 11 and 12. We strive to develop inquiring, knowledgeable, and caring young people who will build a better world through open-mindedness, intercultural understanding, and respect. Global Paradigm International School library and media center is a place for learning and thinking through inquiry. Located on the third floor, the library is a sunny and warm atmosphere that offers students and teachers a quiet place to read, study, research, and do their projects. Fully-equipped computers are available for student use. The goal of the school library program is to support the school mission and to help in the continuous improvement of the school. It also plays a central role in the implementation of the IB Diploma Programme. KG to Grade 5 students visit the library once a week where they are taught library skills, check out books, and do occasional activities. In addition, Middle and High school students receive library lessons that include plagiarism, citation, and research techniques. They also get hands-on guidance in the use of valuable reference resources such as Britannica and other online research tools. As a school, we have accomplished quite a bit in our first 6 years. Currently, we are fully accredited by the Egyptian Ministry of Education and North Central Association Commission on Accreditation and School Improvement (NCA CASI), one of three accreditation agencies that fall under the auspices of AdvancEd. We are also proud to be an authorized IB Diploma World School. Now, in our 7th year, we will once again undergo reaccreditation by AdvancED. That will occur in March of 2017. In addition, the school will host an accreditation officer in October from the Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools Commissions on Elementary and Secondary Schools. Both NCA CASI and the Middle States are recognized by the United States Department of Education as certified accreditation agencies. We are now proud to say that our school has graduated 4 classes of students who are doing well at the university level, both in Egypt and abroad in the United States and Europe. We believe that we are improving the overall quality of our educational experience for our kids but realize that we have much more that we can still do. Such improvements are not realized by a single person but rather require the commitment and leadership of students, parents, and staff members.
