  1. Uniquely located in the heart of Australia’s largest high-tech precinct, Macquarie brings together 40,000 students and 2000 staff in one thriving hub of discovery. Our campus spans 126 hectares, with open green space that gives our community the freedom to think and grow. From our beginnings, we have defied the traditional boundaries of academia. Instead, we have pioneered – and continue to pioneer – learning and teaching approaches that challenge conventions and shift thinking. Our pioneering approach is built around a connected learning community. Our students are considered partners and co-creators in their learning experience. Their face-to-face experience is paired with sophisticated and interactive digital resources. Their courses are linked to the latest research discoveries. They are connected with industry partners through internships and work placements. Macquarie University is on track to becoming one of Australia’s leading research universities. To reach our goal, we invest heavily in research, learning and teaching, new buildings, new teaching facilities, and developing mutually beneficial relationships with industry. We design many of our degrees in collaboration with the industry, and many are also accredited by peak professional bodies, giving our students a head start on their careers. Additionally, we offer our students a package of career accelerator initiatives that educate, enable, and empower them to launch a career in whatever field ignites their passion. More than AU$1 billion has recently been invested in our facilities and infrastructure so our students and staff can thrive in an environment that is inspiring and switched on to the latest digital technologies. Macquarie is home to some of the world’s most pre-eminent researchers, many of whom are members of our 18 Concentrations of Research Excellence. These concentrations cover a diverse range of fields, from Ancient History to Climate Change. Alongside this research effort, we are rejuvenating our learning and teaching, updating our curriculum, and providing students and staff opportunities to contribute to society. Macquarie University was founded in 1964 to be a radical and unconventional addition to the New South Wales tertiary education market. Fifty years on, Macquarie University is still different. Macquarie is proudly a university of service and engagement – engaging students and staff through transformative learning and life experiences and serving the world through discovery, dissemination of knowledge and ideas, innovation, and deep partnerships. In the heart of Australia’s largest high-technology precinct, our unique location provides benefits for staff and students through an environment of outstanding research and innovation and learning and teaching opportunities with world-leading organizations. We aspire to be: A destination of choice for students and staff who share our values. Deeply connected with our stakeholders and partners, and known for this globally. Ranked among the highest performing research universities of Australia and, for critical disciplines, to be recognized globally for our pre-eminence. Known across Australia and beyond as custodians of a great university campus that blends the vibrancy of a cosmopolitan university village with a setting of Australian natural bushland.

  4. LCA is an interdenominational school that glorifies God in supporting Christian families by providing a biblically integrated and academically excellent education. An LCA student will be equipped to impact his or her world by exhibiting strong Christian character including service to God and others, and by demonstrating academic achievement, biblical leadership, and the ability to articulate and defend a Christian worldview in all areas of life. The mission of Lighthouse Christian Academy is to partner with Christian parents to provide a biblically integrated and academically excellent education to develop each child’s Christ-like character, intellectual ability, and physical health to the glory of God. We provide a biblically integrated and academically excellent education that develops each child’s Christ-like character, intellectual ability, and physical health to the glory of God. LCA meets all state curriculum requirements, is accredited by the Indiana Department of Education, and is also a member of the Association of Christian Schools International. Choosing a school is an extremely important decision as you carry out your God-given responsibility for the education of your children. Lighthouse Christian Academy sees its role as partnering with parents to carry out this task. Our students, K-12 have the opportunity to participate in a wide range of educational experiences: academic, arts, and athletic related. Every area of influence experienced by the student is guided by a Biblical approach. Our faculty and staff are committed to Christian education. They are committed to our Lord Jesus Christ, to the mission of the school, and the children at LCA. They seek to have each child develop his/her God-given gifts. Our theme verse is Mathew 5:16, “Let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven,” and our goal is to equip our students to be a LIGHT. Lighthouse Christian Academy is fully accredited by the State of Indiana, State Board of Education through Freeway Status. LCA is also a member of the Association of Christian Schools International (ACSI). The ACSI is an association of Christian schools whose motto is to strengthen Christian schools and equip Christian educators worldwide as they prepare students academically and inspire them to become devoted followers of Jesus Christ. The LCA Statement of Faith contains fundamental Christian doctrines that Lighthouse Christian Academy teaches and holds unreservedly. These foundational doctrines will be enthusiastically affirmed by the faculty in the classrooms at LCA. Faculty, staff, parents and students should also be aware that certain positions not found in the Statement of Faith are primarily left to the teachings of the student’s home and church. The Lighthouse Christian Academy philosophy of Christian education is based upon the Biblical teaching that the fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom and knowledge. Only a Christ-centered education can have meaning and can validly prepare youth for time and eternity. The goal of all education is to help man glorify God and enjoy Him forever. Since a true understanding of the world in which we live cannot be gained apart from the knowledge of the Creator, all aspects of the curriculum should be distinctly Christian, taking into account God’s revelation of Himself. A primary portion of our service to God is to center around loving our neighbors. To this end, a full education should include an emphasis on acquiring and understanding the history and state of the culture within which they will serve God through their dealings with their neighbors.

Year after year, the school has continued to develop to become a vibrant and effective ministry. In 2004, the school became known as Lighthouse Christian School. Now with over thirty staff and volunteers, Lighthouse Christian School serves more than one hundred local families in the education of their children, with enrolments drawn from the founding church, other Christian churches, and from families who, while not currently attending a Christian church, desire an education that is based upon Christian beliefs and values. 11.
