  2. Jubail Industrial College had its roots in 1978 when the Royal Commission for Jubail and Yanbu established a skills training center to develop the skilled workforce required by the Kingdom. In 1982, the skills training center was upgraded into an institute named the Royal Commission Jubail Human Resources Development Institute. The Manpower Council of the Government of Saudi Arabia issued a Royal decree in 1989 to transform the institute into a full-fledged engineering and business college, named the Jubail Industrial College. This was established to serve the educational and training needs of the newly created Jubail Industrial City and the local and regional community of the Eastern Province of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Jubail Industrial College, the Kingdom's largest and most sophisticated, is a 'semi-autonomous' technical institute governed by the Board of Directors of the Royal Commission. At the college level, the activities concerning academic, administrative, and student services are administered by the Managing Director along with the College Deputy for Education and Training Affairs, and the College Deputy of Student Affairs according to by-laws and College Council decisions. Jubail Industrial College is an outstanding example of how relevant modern education supports technology and transforms a rural society into a modern, vibrant one. It is a successful example of how planned industrial and educational developments can work hand in hand within a couple of decades. We are the largest entity of the College and are at the heart of all academic and training functions and activities in the College. With more than 295 academic staff members who are highly qualified, experienced, and skilled in their professions, we provide a high standard of world-class American style education and training in the marked fields of engineering technology, business administration, and IT fields. More than 7500 students and trainees (from Industry) continue to benefit from our educational and training programs. We aim to provide Saudi high school graduates with good knowledge and hands-on skills to perform as job-ready professionals and progressive leaders at their workplace. To achieve this aim, the College environment is both intellectually challenging and technically demanding, and also sensitive to national, regional, and international needs. For more than three decades, we adhere to the internationally recognized standards (ABET, CTAB, ACBSP) with a rigorous curriculum aimed towards academic success. Our mission is to provide the Kingdom with well- educated and highly trained workforce in technical and business-related fields by offering quality technical education and training programs that are career-focused and market-driven through a partnership with business, Industry, community, and other stakeholders. Our primary role is to develop and deliver quality technical education and training programs, with all necessary facilities and logistic support, enabling the young Saudi nationals to be successful in pursuing their career goals and growth potentials. We direct, analyze, and implement the College's strategic educational and training objectives to promote its educational and development plans in broad terms. It is our strategic mission to make JIC the center of excellence for quality education and training. In pursuit of this, we have set up four units in the deputyship, namely curriculum, academic accreditation, faculty development, and statistics and information units, which will broadly encompass our work on quality. To empower the College with quality control tools and quality assurance measures to become the preferred seat of technical education and training in the country. The C&QA deputyship's primary role is to reinforce and enhance quality culture in the College on all matters that concern the formal instruction of the College, including curriculum, functions that impact the quality of students' learning outcome, and services that support the process of teaching and learning. Working hand in hand with other College departments to develop students' opportunities to become productive citizens by creating challenging environments that contribute to students' intellectual, physical, social, cultural, and moral growth. The Quality (ISO) has been considered one of the most important means and techniques that ensures work standards and upgrades performed in the present age called' the ISO Era' by some thinkers. Quality is no longer a luxury to which the service and profitability institutions yearn, or a substitute to be applied or abandoned by the systems raised. However, it has inevitably become an urgent need dictated by contemporary life's movement- which is evidence of the spirit survival and the survival spirit of the organization. As a result, Jubail Industrial College has sought to apply Quality Management System (ISO 9001) laid down in all administrative and educational procedures and prepared an ambitious plan ended with gaining a Quality Certificate, which represents the beginning to enter a quality world. The quality can be merely realized through the establishing a sound intellectual approach on which the administrative and educational process runs, and which ensures the addition of sciences and knowledge got by the student, moral values-based system, human relations systems, advanced means of communication, and other needs that make both employee's and student's lives inside the educational institutions a pleasure. Therefore, Jubail Industrial College regards all its faculty and trainees as the mainstay to continue excellence to access to and maintain the highest quality. Jubail Industrial College (JIC) is proud to be a unique educational Organization, known for its services, as well as for its practical and educational Outcomes. 3. Welcome to ISG Jubail. "We inspire innovation and compassionate action". To accomplish this audacious mission, we quite literally search the globe to recruit the very best international faculty that we possibly can. We compete globally for this talent with renowned international schools situated in world centers of globalized finance, industry, and trade. We employ a progressive curriculum that asks more questions than answers. It asks students from pre-kindergarten (age 3) to Grade 12 (age 18) to construct knowledge using multiple viewpoints. In mathematics and science, students are asked to represent and articulate their thinking pictorially, diagrammatically, and graphically, as well as with words, equations, and models. In the humanities and arts, students explore and consider multiple perspectives often informed by the cultural diversity of our student body as well as that of our faculty. We explicitly value learner agency in the development of innovation over lecture, memorization, or other didactic methods of the past. As part of the International Schools Group, we enjoy access to resources and expertise that enable us to innovate and collaborate on a scale not possible in an individual school. ISG Jubail’s mission is to provide a progressive educational experience that celebrates our multicultural community of diverse learners. The ISG Jubail student is inspired to strive for academic excellence, balanced life, and service to others. Traveling a path that sets it apart from others in the region, the hallmarks of the school are a diverse educational experience coupled with a steadfast commitment to the IB Diploma Program. ISG Jubail continues to move forward by striving for growth in curriculum development and a personalized approach to learning. Led by highly qualified educators, ISG Jubail inspires students to reach their fullest potential, and aim for high achievement, driven by integrity, acceptance of others, and personal ambition. Our values of responsibility, consideration, and mutual respect prepare students for their roles as global citizens. We inspire innovation and compassionate action. An exciting new Readers and Writers Workshop has recently been introduced, and Math Practices have been enhanced by utilizing the Engage New York program. In addition, comprehensive knowledge of NGSS standards for science and the C3 Framework for Social Studies and History means that the school's faculty can creatively synthesize standards into authentic experiences for all students. This, combined with a celebration of excellence in the arts, athletics, and health/wellness, contributes to the school's programs. Complementing these elements in the equation is a strident commitment to the students’ social, emotional, and personal growth allowing for an all-encompassing education for students, their families, and ISG Jubail's staff. ISG Jubail School utilizes the AERO Common Core Plus standards (American Education Reaches Out) for a robust, standards-based education framework for language arts and social studies, with science utilizing the AERO NGSS (Next Generation Science Standards) and mathematics using Common Core standards. The school also uses the Lucy Calkins Readers and Writers workshop model within the language arts program. Although the AERO Common Core Plus / AERO NGSS standards are used, the school uses the UbD (Understanding by Design) model to promote a more trans-disciplinary, authentic, and relevant approach to learning. The students work in units and learn through active inquiry, promoting critical thinking and moving from the concrete to more abstract concept development. The units are designed to stimulate and challenge students to try new roles, experiment with ideas and materials, and solve real problems. They encompass all relevant subject areas, including performing and visual arts, to help students enjoy their learning and prepare them to be successful. ISG Jubail Elementary uses Eureka Math as the core resource to support math instruction the program is intentionally aligned to Common Core standards and will support our math needs comprehensively. We believe that grades earned by students at ISG Jubail should: Reflect learning by the student. Not be used as a disciplinary measure. Be a tool for communication to parents, other teachers, and schools. Not be based solely on participation or attendance, although these issues can influence learning. Grades earned represent standards of learning and hard work. The Early Years program provides narrative assessments to describe achievement. Elementary achievement is measured against curriculum standards along a continuum of development. Middle and High School grading follows a standard American grading system utilizing lettered grades to indicate achievement (A, B, C, D, and F). Our students receive grade reports periodically throughout the semester based on their teachers' methods and course selections. Our Elementary School has two sections: Early Years and Primary School. The early Years program covers Pre-Kindergarten and Kindergarten 1. It is a place where strong foundations are built for a lifetime of learning. Our Early Years teachers believe it is a privilege to help open young minds and to encourage them to become explorers in ways that will set them up to be happy, enquiring students with good oral and social skills. Our lower primary program runs from KG2 to Grade 2, with our upper primary program running from Grade 3 to Grade 5. For all elementary grade levels, ISG Jubail students are active learners they analyze and question, take risks, and learn from failure in a supportive environment and are given opportunities to express themselves through writing, presentations, and discussions. Language arts, numeracy, science, art, physical education, and music are well fostered for all children. We work on building children's self-confidence and self-advocacy. As well as the core curriculum subjects, our young learners embed technology in their everyday learning and have regular visits to the school library. Experiential learning beyond the classroom through field trips keeps them engaged in learning in the wider world. Our Middle and High School divisions are diverse, yet close-knit communities. Students develop their passions, find their voices, and plan for their future throughout their secondary years. Middle School represents a transitional and transformative time in a student’s life. At the High School level, we endeavor to prepare students for the challenges they will face in higher education and an increasingly globalized world. ISG Jubail offers a broad range of exploratory and elective offerings in addition to a rigorous curriculum and academic core. Beginning in Grade 11, students may also opt to undertake the two-year International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme. Our academic program is as demanding as it is rewarding. Students can further extend themselves through our co-curricular program, which includes a variety of sports, fine and performing arts, clubs and service organizations, and more. We work to develop reflective, caring, and ethical individuals, capable of life-long learning with a penchant to grow and develop their understanding of the world.
  4. Welcome to Al Hussan Group of International Schools. Over the past years, Al Hussan International Schools developed from two small schools to FIVE large schools in Khobar, Jubail, and Riyadh. In addition, the month of September 2016 will witness the inauguration of our SIXTH school in the Industrial City of Yanbu. As accredited schools, we are working continuously on developing ourselves. A major area of development is the curriculum, the heart of our schools, that we have just started a process of developing. The vision of Al Hussan International schools states: “to prepare students with the skills necessary to be able to continue their education”. Therefore our curriculum is focusing on the skills of the twenty-first century. Some of these skills are incorporated in our curricula such as independent learning, critical thinking, and creative problem-solving in addition to many others. “Providing high-quality education”, drives us to continuously improve our teaching methods and technology and create a continuous training program for our teachers, so we can make our curriculum alive in each classroom. We will continue to exert every possible effort to all our students, for them to achieve even better results in international examinations (IGCSE O-level, A-level, IB Diploma, SAT) so that more students get accepted into the best universities around the globe. The fact that every individual is unique, belonging to different cultural backgrounds, and has to be prepared for the challenging environment at university. We endeavor to be a regional network of high-quality international schools with an uncompromising commitment in our role to prepare students with the skills necessary to be able to continue their education in reputable international institutions. We strive to offer an educational environment where students are exposed to the latest technology and teaching methods by fully qualified educators in a facility that has been specifically equipped for this purpose. Al-Hussan International Schools are committed to providing high-quality education for all students through an internationally recognized curriculum in a disciplined, safe, nurturing, and positive learning environment. We believe that every student has a unique learning style. In using a variety of student-centered teaching and assessment techniques to build on each students’ learning style. In creating a climate of high expectation for success from all stakeholders. That our students will be able to demonstrate their knowledge and skills, using high-order thinking and problem-solving techniques. In preparing students to become well-rounded young people, ready to meet the challenges in an ever-changing world. That student will be able to transfer to other countries and/or systems, schools, or universities, knowing that a firm foundation in knowledge, skills, and values have been acquired. Professional development leads to life-long learning. In parents as partners in improving students’ learning. That the school has a collaborative responsibility with the community. That the health and safety of our students are the responsibility of all stakeholders. That our students should develop an appreciation, tolerance, compassion, and respect for the rights and cultures of all people. That the multi-cultural diversity of our students is an asset. In honoring the Universal Declaration of Human Rights by not discriminating against anyone based on race, color, sex, language, religion, national or social origin, or another status. Located in the Huwaylat District, in Jubail Industrial City, Saudi Arabia, Jubail International School serves as an ideal site for teaching and learning. Its location offers the community easy access to an area that is a part of the Royal Commission. The school's location has many advantages. First of all, it is located in Royal Commission which is a very secure area with constant surveillance for security with patrol cars, etc. It is adjacent to a hospital fully equipped with up-to-date facilities. The area is clean and is close to a commercial area. It is not on any main road, therefore, decreasing the chance of traffic accidents. The school is ideally located near the Beachside which is helpful while doing ecosystem studies. The school itself is housed on a 19700 sqm plot of land. Jubail International School opened in 1999. It was originally located on much smaller premises. It was a co-education school system. In 2009 by the decree of the Ministry of Education, it was separated into two separate locations, boys sections' and girls' section. Over time, the number of students increased and the then existing premises was deemed inadequate. The construction of a new building was an essential part of the School's progressive plan and its mission and vision. Hence a new building was constructed just for housing a school, and we moved into it in January 2011. The Jubail International School is housed in a new purpose-built centrally air-conditioned campus. It opened its doors to the students, staff, and parents on the 7th of January, 2011. The students, parents and our staff had been anxiously waiting for the new campus which offers a safe and stimulating environment to about 900 students at present. The school has three sections, with separate entrances, for Boys' Section, Girls' Section and one for Administration Offices. A well-maintained school building is essential for a proper learning environment. Our new building has large, shared workspaces as well as classrooms that are equipped with the latest technology like projectors. The building contains four fully-equipped science laboratories, two rooms for art and design, two clinics, two laboratories for information and computer technology, two spacious libraries, four covered play areas, two canteens, two gymnasiums, and an outside sports area. Thus, the school is purpose-built with teaching and learning concepts in mind. The new building was inspected by the Royal Commission of Jubail and Yanbu, Ministry of Education and Fire & Safety Department, and was found to be meeting, and in some instances exceeding their standards. The girl's gymnasium has a stage, electronically operated stage curtains, and a state-of-the-art music/sound system. It provides the perfect setting for various activities and events like Graduation Ceremonies of Reception and Grade 12. At Jubail International School, the co-operation and camaraderie among all stakeholders have been a significant factor for its success. The responses we have received are very favorable and there is an overwhelmingly positive view of the school premises as parents are very happy with the facilities. The resources and facilities at the school provide ideal learning opportunities to students. The tradition of Al-Hussan Education in Saudi Arabia began in 1956 when Sheikh Abdel Aziz Rashid Al-Hussan started the Arab Cultural Institute for Adult Education. In the following year Al-Hussan Modern Girls School, the first girls’ school in the Eastern Province of Saudi Arabia was opened. Today there are nineteen schools and other educational institutes throughout the Eastern Province rated among the best in Saudi Arabia, with an enrolment of over 10,000 students.

  7. View full school
  8. View full school
