Meeting national and international standards. Autonomous Learners Differentiated learning strategies. Integrated teaching and learning. Social and personal education and cooperation. The Kindergarten program in DISB is divided into three levels of instruction: KG1, KG2, and KG3. We aim to help children between the ages of three and six years old expand their knowledge, grow their skills, and develop their abilities. DISB kindergarten staff is committed to providing our students with the ultimate environment for a safe and joyful learning experience. Students are encouraged to share their ideas, give their opinions, make contributions, and use problem-solving strategies during individual or group work activities. A separate kindergarten handbook has been developed to describe the progression of skills from one level to another and to provide information about the procedures and regulations. The elementary level consists of 6 years (Grade 1 – Grade 6). The fundamental program used at this level is the Lebanese program. To ensure preparation, various aspects of this program have been modified to cater to the needs of the students’ learning continuum throughout their school years. Additionally, subjects and methods inspired by other programs such as the International Baccalaureate’s PYP apply to the curriculum at this level to ensure full preparation of the students for Middle School. At this level, we strive to create a stress-free environment that supports and nurtures the students’ emotional, physical, and academic growth. The Intermediate level consists of 3 years (Grades 7, 8, and 9). Grade 7 is a transition grade where students are given orientation for the coming years through an eclectic curriculum, which is shown in the program offerings table. Classes at this level are divided into two sections: the Lebanese Program (LP) and the International Program (IP). The material given at this level differs based on which program the students are in but is similar for the most part. The Lebanese Program for the Middle school level consists of 3 years (Grades 7, 8, and 9), and it prepares the students for the Brevet National Official Exams, and the DSD (Deutsche Sprach Diplom I & II). The International Program for the Middle school level consists of 4 years (Grades 7, 8, 9, and 10), which prepares the students for the IB Diploma Programme (in both its sections, English and German), and the DSD (Deutsche Sprach Diplom I & II). The Secondary School level consists of Grades 10, 11, and 12. Students are encouraged and taught to become principled, conscientious, and well-rounded. They develop freedom of thought that is practiced with a spirit of integrity and full responsibility. After the students enter their respective programs, they will commence their orientation towards the diploma awarded in their senior year: The Lebanese Program (Grades 10, 11, and 12): a program based on preparation for the Lebanese Baccalaureate Diploma awarded in senior year upon completion of their exams. The IB Diploma Programme (Grades 11 & 12): a program based on preparation for the 2-year IB Diploma (English and German) awarded by IB in senior year upon completion of their exams (Refer to Appendix F). The IB Diploma Course Programme (Grades 11 & 12): A School leaving certificate, asserted with IB Course certificates, upon the completion of Grade 12.
  3. If there is one philosophy to retain about EPBI, it’s the one about open-mindedness to the world and international awareness. With various nationalities already present at our school but also an international curriculum that promotes bilingualism, “multicultural” is the adjective at the heart of our school in Baillargues. EPBI welcomes pupils from the age of 2 to 18. It offers a bilingual education through to the end of the 3ème and then offers the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme to the sixth form pupils. The school is also an official Cambridge exam preparation center for pupils aged 7-18 years. EPBI welcomes all pupils from all backgrounds to give them an adapted education for the students’ needs, without neglecting excellence and ambition that can be highlighted by our excellent exam results in previous years. This year our students excelled once again in all the national exams. We have had 100% success once again in the Brevet and Baccalaureate this year with the majority of our pupils getting special merit or distinction. We would like to congratulate our pupils on all their hard work which reflects the high standards of this school. we would also like to congratulate our teachers for their implication and passion for teaching, their ability to transfer knowledge and prepare your children for exams efficiently. Our pupil's desire to learn has become contagious creating pupils who are accomplished, happy and motivated. This is present everywhere in the corridors of our school. Next year, We will have the honor of presenting our first set of students for the IB Diploma Programme. With a particularly enthusiastic and recently trained teaching team (through rigorous IB workshops) two separate 1st year IB classes were set up this year, one in French and the other in English. This project was presented to you in my letter last year. International Baccalaureate The IB Diploma is very sought after by the most prestigious universities in France and the world. Our students have already validated part of their continuous assessment work which is marked internally by our teachers. This particular philosophy and atmosphere that has stemmed from the IB students and staff has transcended the whole school. Students are placed at the center of their learning and knowledge acquisition they have matured in their relationship with the school and have got involved in highly ambitious projects. We have noticed this maturity and hunger for knowledge that has prevailed at our school this year, driven by our IB students. Being witness to such to this desire for knowledge has helped me to come up with another new project for the school, for you, for our pupils and parents: it is the secondary school IB program or Middle Years Programme (MYP). Life is not only a question of knowledge and learning at school, it is also having the opportunity and the ability to develop a project and discover the world. This is something that is illustrated by EPBI through its diverse initiatives. Thanks to the investment made by our teaching staff and also by our students, we were able to: organize a cross country fun run uniting all the children at our school, including teachers, students, and families: participate in the Montpellier-Reine run for research in breast cancer: work with a charity to provide toys and books for orphans in Madagascar. As we have been doing for 30 years, we have also helped our pupils discover new horizons: Ireland, The Basque Country, and the class verte. EPBI is not only a school. It’s a place conveying values and helping pupils to become responsible citizens of the world. At the dawn of our 30th school year, the teaching team and We would like to wish all new parents and pupils a very warm welcome, a welcome back to our regular parents and pupils, and wish you a 30th school year that fulfills all our hopes and expectations.
  4. The EBI was created in 1996 to meet the needs of the expatriate community of the Michelin Group in Clermont-Ferrand. Since that time, it has always been a part of the Massillon School through its partnership agreement. Over the years, Clermont-Ferrand and its surroundings have developed a more international openness. Thanks to the support of the Michelin Corporate Foundation, we now welcome a larger and more diverse community within the school. With over 20 years of experience, E.B.I. allows children of international families or French families coming back from expatriation to maintain and develop their English and French language skills. Our Anglophone teachers deliver a program that is unique in the Regional Education Authority. EBI is integrated into l’Ensemble Scolaire Massillon, a private Catholic Primary, Middle, and High School accredited by the French Ministry of Education with a total of nearly 1,400 students with 30 nationalities represented. We work with and for pupils who are part of the bilingual program in the school. The members of the teaching team design programs and teaching materials which combine high standards with a differentiated approach. We aim for excellence whilst being mindful of the needs of each child and teenager. We aspire to create an environment that supports children in their lifelong journey of self-development, discovery, and growth. The whole EBI team is available to answer your questions and welcome your family in the best possible way. Perhaps France and Clermont-Ferrand are completely new to you and you are busy unpacking boxes and settling in. In this context, we sincerely hope you will enjoy your time here. You can be reassured that your children will feel safe and happy at our school, whilst they develop their skills and knowledge. We aim to support all new families as they arrive throughout the year: our teachers are available to discuss with you about your child and we are pleased to have the support of a strong body of parents to help whenever necessary. We are proud of our diversity, with more than 20 nationalities and many languages represented. We seek to create a broad range of opportunities for our children, whatever their background and to help them integrate and interact with each other. We believe in a harmonious multinational, multiethnic community able to live and learn together. Our school is a small school providing high-quality international education for the increasing international community in and around Clermont-Ferrand. We are proud of being able to offer that personal touch: a welcoming friendliness that a small school can offer. We also enjoy being part of the Massillon school and being involved in all cultural and social events it offers.
  5. The Cité Scolaire Internationale (CSI) of Lyon aims to welcome students wishing to follow an international school curriculum within the French education system leading to the OIB (International Option of the Baccalaureate). The CSI hosts nine International Sections: English-speaking (subdivided into high school into English and American sections), German-speaking, Spanish-speaking, Italian-speaking, Portuguese-speaking, Japanese-speaking, Polish-speaking, Chinese-speaking, Arab-speaking. These nine International Sections are present from elementary school to high school. If the elementary school and the college welcome exclusively students of Sections Internationale, the high school also welcomes pupils of the geographic sector. The Anglophone or English-speaking Section is part of the Cité Scolaire Internationale (CSI) in Lyon, a French state school with international sections. We offer children who are already fluent in English and education unique in the Lyon area: an English as a first language syllabus (native or near-native level), within the French state system. The Anglophone Section is the largest in the CSI, with over 500 pupils. We teach children from Primary through to High School. All section pupils get the best of both worlds: the rigor for which the French system is justly proud, combined with the encouragement for creativity and self-expression that is a feature of Anglophone educational practice. Anglophone section pupils leaving the CSI are well equipped to continue their education anywhere in the English-speaking world. They sit the Option Internationale du Baccalauréat (OIB), a bilingual diploma which is the French Baccalaureate with its additional component, the International Option. The OIB is equivalent to a British A-Level (British Option) or Advanced Placement (American Option) and is recognized by Anglophone universities worldwide. CSI students also sit the IGCSE (International General Certificate of Secondary Education) in English, as students in the UK. Although part of the French state system, the Anglophone Section is fee-paying, run by a non-profit making association, the Association des Parents d’Elèves de la Section Anglophone (APESA), governed by a parent board. The CSI is a state institution and cannot privately employ teachers. The Anglophone section is represented by the APESA Board, which employs the Head of Section, teachers, and non-teaching staff. The Board is also responsible for all the other legal and organizational matters relating to the teachers and staff, as well as managing the budget and reporting back to parents.
  6. Get a first impression of the modern premises of our school, which are located along with the excellent sports facilities on the grounds of Al Bustan Village. In our school, with the regular language of instruction German, our Kindergarten children start with early English. From elementary school, our students have two hours of Arabic per week. French is added as another foreign language in grade 6. The school objective is the central examinations in grade 10. With the passing of these examinations, our high school students - provided appropriate achievements - acquire the access authorization for the senior secondary school and can easily switch to any German high school to take their "Abitur". There is a Christmas party, a summer party, field trips, there is a parents' council, student representatives, as at any other school in Germany, a computer room, etc. Some of it has its regional character. Santa Claus, for example, is coming on a camel with his gifts at Christmas, the summer party is taking place by the pool, field trip destinations are often in the desert. Under the Mission Statement "Democratic, Innovative, Sensitive, Respectful", the German International School Riyadh looks back on more than 40 years of history and is also proceeds into the future. As one of two German schools in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, we offer students a smooth transition from kindergarten to tenth grade as a possibility to enter a gymnasiale Oberstufe (senior years). One of our future goals is the introduction of the GIB. Modern high-tech equipment, modern teaching methods, well-equipped science rooms, dedicated teachers, and an individual support concept (inclusive learning) characterize our small but mighty school. The good social climate at DISR is a daily glimmer of light in the middle of the desert. With the entry into Kindergarten, a new phase of life begins for your child. For you as a parent, this means letting go a bit more and entrusting your child with new caregivers. The different play areas and learning areas of our Kindergarten as well as the spacious outdoor area make it possible for the children to learn with fun, to be creative, explore the world, and develop their personalities. We want to encourage children to discover and understand the world, responding to their interests, arousing their curiosity, and strengthening their talents. It is important to us that the children develop good social behavior, so we promote helpfulness and consideration and respectful and friendly interaction with each other and take into account the individuality of each child. The employees of the Kindergarten are aware of their role model function. We provide the children with diverse, stimulating opportunities so that they can learn and research with all their senses and playfully and creatively engage with their environment. We accompany the children for a little period on their life path and support them. Therefore, we attach great importance to partnering with parents based on mutual tolerance, respect, and appreciation. As a German Kindergarten, the celebration of important traditional festivals of our culture is an integral part of our conception and something special for every child. We have great interest and respect towards all other cultures. The "main occupation" of children is playing. Children learn while playing. This is a fundamental aspect of our educational work. While playing, children find their options for conflict resolution, the development of social skills, and the acquisition of knowledge. The children decide for themselves, what, when and with whom they want to play. We assist the children in developing their playing ideas as a contact and guide. We provide them with a variety of materials and thus always give them new ideas. We primarily focus on the interests and the questions and needs of the children and their daily surroundings. We take the ideas of the children and develop them together with them (so-called "situational approach"). This active cooperation also animates our projects and topics. The conscious and learner-oriented contact with the English language in Kindergarten is intended to arouse the interest and enjoyment of learning languages. Simple language structures, e.g. colors, numbers, animals are taught and consolidated. The teaching of elementary language skills is playful and without pressure to perform. The children in our kindergarten come from different countries or from a multilingual environment whose first language is not always German. Under the name "Deutsch als Fremdsprache - DaF", children whose German language skills are deficient receive additional support for the German language. The first days in Kindergarten - Our goal is that the children master the transition to Kindergarten as easily as possible. Therefore, the adaptation of each child is individually discussed, planned, and carried out with the parents. For the start in our Kindergarten to be positive for your child, this time of adjustment is very important. It depends on many factors (age of the child, pre-existing Kindergarten experience, an only child, occupation of parents, disengagement of parents from child), and we can not say in general terms how it works and how long it takes. On the first day, parents or one parent join the child in Kindergarten and get to know the Kindergarten teachers, the premises, and the group. In a first conversation, the parents receive important information about the activities in the Kindergarten and the group. The teacher can make first observations and first contact. A first, brief separation can already take place in the case of a positive contact by the teacher. The course of familiarization is then discussed individually with the parents from day today. Our school offers a piece of home away from home, starting with two-year-old kindergarten children until they finish school in 10th grade. To best promote, challenge, accompany and support our students is our main interest. We are striving to establish further education after grade 10. Therefore, we aim to establish the gemischtsprachige IB Diploma program to allow our students to obtain a university entrance qualification at our school, and we are enthusiastic about this pedagogical approach and its implementation.

  12. View full school
  13. View full school
  14. 15. View full school
