  1. The strategic goal of the IKBFU is to increase and secure competitiveness in the national and global markets of university education and R&D through developing competencies in new areas and activities in line with the breakthrough achievements in the field of biomedical, neuro-, nanotechnology as well as in social sciences and the humanities. The University's mission is to develop into a national leader in three interdisciplinary areas based on breakthrough achievements in biotechnologies and neurotechnologies materials science and nanotechnology information and communication technologies to become a trendsetter in technology to train internationally competitive professionals. There are several interdisciplinary priorities within the three major research areas: Neurotechnologies Genetic engineering Marine microbiology Nanomaterials Applied engineering technologies Fundamental mathematics and informatics Information security. The three interdisciplinary areas make it possible to integrate all competitive areas developing at the IKBFU as a classical university. Innovative results have been achieved in these areas. The University's mission is to represent and transfer best Russian practices of education, research, and culture to Europe and increase the Kaliningrad region's international competitiveness by building up intellectual, scientific, and technological capacity to transform its economic and social life. To carry out this mission, the University will become a center of world-class education and research, a source of innovations for the Russian Federation and Baltic macroregion. This strategic goal breaks down into several key objectives: To preserve and develop traditional values of global and Russian cultures in unique geopolitical and civilizational situation of the region To ensure a high level of research in the selected priority areas To train professionals competitive at the national and international job markets. Is the University named after Immanuel Kant to honor the great philosopher and to shape the prism? The University is named after Immanuel Kant, not only as an honor to the great philosopher but also shaping the prism through which we look at the world. The research priorities we have selected reflect the Kantian humanist ideals and touch upon the essential life spheres. Intellectual and spiritual culture: geographically and historically, the Kaliningrad region is a melting pot of national, religious, intellectual traditions. By maintaining this civilizational dialogue, we can understand both ourselves and the Other, so studying all aspects of cultural, social, and intellectual communication between Russia and Europe is a priority for the University. Culture of health: the Kaliningrad region has significant recreational potential. Thus the development and implementation of biomedical technologies and other technologically advanced forms of healthcare correspond to regional development strategy. Since both social and technological spin in healthcare and maintaining the quality of life and increasing life expectancy are a priority, the University focuses on healthcare contents and organization. Material culture: Additive technologies and new materials, and independent control systems, are already creating a new material world. This priority has theoretical and practical importance for the University and the surrounding region: new products and technologies will be needed in various spheres, from medicine to urban development. 2. Immanuel Lutheran College is a Prep to Year 12 co-educational school with an onsite Early Learning Centre. Established in 1979, the College is the longest-serving independent school on the Sunshine Coast and has forged a reputation for excellence that goes well beyond the academic achievements of its students. At Immanuel, we take equal pride in encouraging students' academic, cultural, social, physical, spiritual, and pastoral development. Situated on 23 picturesque hectares and surrounded by rainforest, innovation is at the core of our programs, seamlessly blending classroom, mobile and online experiences throughout the learning journey. I am often asked what sets Immanuel students apart. I believe it focuses on the individual harnessing their strengths and developing personalized pathways and programs of learning. While encouraging an individualized approach to learning, we also embrace events such as the Immanuel Arts Festival, Fruehlingsfest, and Voices on the Coast Literature Festival to bring the wider community together. From 2018, a new Environmental Centre, the first of its kind for a school on the Sunshine Coast, will offer students from many schools the opportunity to work in ''living'' classrooms under teacher's teachers'' guidance, including those from our local university. An integral part of our approach to developing the whole person is the unique outdoor education program at our second campus, Mt Binga. Students spend time at Binga across various year levels, participating in a program that promotes teamwork and independent thinkers who have the confidence to take their place in the world and develop the essential values of respect, care, trust, and empathy. Our vision is that Immanuel graduates will be identified by their confidence, optimism, and respect for healthy relationships. They will be highly competent and capable of making a positive contribution to their country and the world. They will be well-grounded with a sense of who they are in the world and a set of values founded in faith, reason, and knowledge. Mission Statement Building Community Learning Together God With Us We acknowledge God'sGod's Word as the authority and guide for the community. In it Christ is revealecenterviding the center of all we do under God'sGod's grace. We believe each person in the community is essential, their worth attested by Christ, and should reach their potential: academically, spiritually, physically, culturally, and socio-emotionally. We aim to strive for excellence in an education that is authentic, life-related, and future-orientated. We believe that in Christ, all are equal, regardless of race, ability, gender, or physical nature, and are committed to each other in caring, just, supporting, encouraging, and forgiving relationships. We believe that we are to serve one another and the community. We believe that the natural environment is to be preserved and protected as we interact with it. We believe that Immanuel is enriched as we develop school pride and spirit and interact with the broader community. The College motto, Walk as Children of the Light, points us in the direction we must be going. We have to more fully come to know Jesus Christ, who is the Light of the World, and know what it means to be "Children of the Light." The motto tells us then to be what we are, and thus a significant objective of the College is to expose its students to the Light of the World and His plan for them. Our logo shows the Cross of Christ in front of the rising sun. Since the sun gives us light, the logo highlights Jesus as the Light of the World. Light also reveals and exposes, and thus we are reminded to look at ourselves as Jesus sees us. The sun is a symbol of the Sunshine Coast and its surf, sand, and enjoyment. The Cross is a symbol of Christ and His love for the world. When these two symbols are put together, we have a picture of Christ in the world where we are. View full school

  6. This program leads the children to think about what they stand for about Christian values, life and community issues, and making positive choices. Our senior students have an opportunity to take part in the Young Leaders' Day in the city as a highlight of their learning. Motivational speakers and excellent staff leadership also support the 'in school' program. Each year 7 student has a staff member other than their teacher as a personal mentor. School Captains and leadership teams offer leadership and support to other students. One vehicle for this is the Student Representative Council where environmental officers and safety officers from each class share their ideas. Captains lead these meetings, prepare regular newsletter items and encourage positive action in the school and community. We aim to be the school of choice in our local community for those seeking an excellent Christian education for their children in a relationship-focused environment.
