  1. GVCS is a Christian internationalized alternative school based on a Christian worldview, to cultivate global Christian leaders with outstanding spirituality, character, and intelligence. Our GVCS education aims to prepare the students to be able to live a life of faith for the Kingdom of God. GVCS uses English textbooks based on the regular Christian middle and high school curriculum of English-speaking countries for classroom instruction and tests for most subjects except for Korean, History, Taekwondo, Music, Art, and Computer Science. In the Middle school curriculum (7th - 9th), Math and science classes are taught in Korean as students need to learn the basic principles of math and acquire a profound understanding of the concepts in social studies. English classes are conducted by native speakers of English and instructed in English. Students who have difficulty following English-only classes are taught by bilingual teachers and are offered 2 hours of English Language Acquisition classes after school to promote their English skills. In the High school curriculum (10th - 12th grade), a higher number of classes are taught in English, as most classes except for Korean, history, Taekwondo, music, art, and computer science are taught by bilingual teachers or teachers who are native speakers of English. After receiving accreditation from the North Chungcheong Province Ministry of Education as an alternative school, Korean and Korean history have been designated as required classes by the Ministry of Education English, Bible, Taekwondo, and reading have been designated as required classes by the school. Students have a wide variety of electives to be able to select their preferred classes among math, science, social science, music, and art classes, all of which are based on the students’ individual educational goals. In addition, foreign languages (such as Chinese, Spanish, Japanese, and German), Chinese characters, and computer science are offered to allow students to be educated as global leaders. Students can discover and develop their talents early on and share them with others. After-school activities include club activities, music classes (band, classical musical instruments, marching band), art classes (creating portfolios for prospective art majors), TOEFL/SAT classes, intensive Taekwondo classes, and school sports (basketball, volleyball, soccer). In addition, all GVCS students are encouraged to play one musical instrument and participate in one sport activity. Students have the opportunity to study with subject teachers or peers after class to increase their skills. The intensive English Language Acquisition class is offered daily for 2 hours to help students with their English language competency. ELA classes are directed towards those students who have difficulties understanding English in the regular class environment. The Christian spiritual education aspires to train Christian leaders who obey the calling of God and serve in the process of Korea’s unification and the prosperity of the world. Solomon Hall houses classrooms, the administration, and the nurse office where students can go when they feel sick James Hall and Crown Hall house the art room where various art activities take place, science rooms, and a gymnasium on the second floor where Taekwondo classes and graduation ceremonies are held. There is a Taekwondo studio in the basement of David Hall where Taekwondo classes and demonstration team practices are held. The ELA classrooms, library, and music practice rooms are located on floors 1 through 4. Each practice room is equipped with a piano and, depending on the size of the room, additional instruments such as guitars, drums, etc., which enables the students to take private lessons. Tyrannus Hall has a cozy gallery, where student works are exhibited, as well as a cafe in the basement. A lab, classrooms, various further offices, and meeting rooms are also located in this building. Convenient facilities are provided and various programs are operated at the community center where students spend most of their time after school. Teachers in charge of resident advising help create a studious atmosphere for students to study themselves and plan various activities on the weekends making beautiful memories to cherish with the students. The international relations team of Global Vision Christian School aims to be a medium of helping to raise global leaders who will lead 10 billion people in the world. Therefore, we continuously advance to offer our students the best after-school and vacation programs that hone their talents and enable them not only to see the world but to gain international experience. Living in a ubiquitous era, it is of great significance to educate students to look outside the box, comprehend international relations and be able to adapt to the international world. The main part of our work lies in cooperating with schools around the world, sharing in the belief of providing the best education to all students. It is the educational philosophy of GVCS for students to overcome cultural, racial, and linguistic boundaries. All students are raised to become global leaders and as such are encouraged to go beyond their familiar surroundings. Therefore, we offer our students the opportunity to study either at our campus in Pennsylvania or attend one of our sister schools in the USA.
