      2. Founded in 1990, the Cornerstone Montessori Prep School (formerly Cornerstone Preparatory School) is sponsored by the Chinese Young Men's Christian Institution (CYMCI). It is registered and inspected by the Ministry of Education as a private school and is a member of the Association of Christian School International (ACSI). As an academically accelerated school, we encourage our students to study and think beyond their expectations. Using our eclectic approach in employing both the traditional and whole language style of teaching, we provide a strong foundational curriculum with individualized, enriched programs. Our daily core studies are supplemented by music, French, and Mandarin classes, as well as active participation in varsity sports. We specialize in daily English as a Second Language (ESL) classes for our international students. The mission of the Children's Primary Centre and Cornerstone Preparatory School is to educate students who, for the glory of God, are capable of achieving at or above grade level with reasonable effort in a traditional learning environment that prepares students for higher education while developing and implementing a Christian world view that permeates all of life. Every student needs to become happy life-long learners. CPS explores all areas of academic study with the individual student in mind. Concentration, repetition and work habits allow students to explore concepts in greater detail. With this added maturity, students have the confidence and independence to explore learning on a number of levels. Our students develop life skills such as a love for learning, accountability, time management, responsibility, self-motivation, and self-discipline. These are all skills that are required not only at the senior high school level but also at University and during adult life. Recognizing the urgent need for quality education during this crucial stage of child development, Cornerstone Montessori Prep School, Toronto exposes Preschool, Junior, and Senior Kindergarten students to a wealth of knowledge, hands on experience, and essential Christian values. Since 1990, our Pre-School Montessori Casa Program has focused on building confident, well-balanced adults, increasing their chances of success in the real world. Our faith-based, accelerated academic program for pre-schoolers as well as children in Grades 1 to 12 combines the successful Montessori school program with our traditional teaching style to encourage intellectual and personal excellence. Plus, international students can take advantage of our specialized daily English as a Second Language (ESL) classes to get up-to-speed. When Cornerstone Montessori Prep School, Toronto opened its doors to students from Kindergarten to Grade 12 in 1990, its founder Dr. Stephanie Ling had a mission: nurturing and encouraging young minds towards academic and personal excellence. Since then, our academically accelerated Junior and Senior School (and pre-school) has offered a strong foundational and faith-based curriculum with enriched individualized programs. Core studies are supplemented by music, French, and Mandarin classes, as well as active participation in sports. Also, international students can take advantage of our specialized daily English as a Second Language (ESL) class to quickly catch up. Our Montessori school education is 100% child-centered rather than teacher driven. This means our experienced and dedicated teachers pay close attention to your child's abilities and interests. We use a practical, hands on approach to help students absorb information at his/her own pace and level. We also have a Summer Program that aims to build self-esteem, provide a safe place for children to socialize through participation in sports and other interesting activities, and develop a close relationship with Christ. Our term examinations (Cumulative Basic Academic tests) are written three times a year and supplemented by weekly testing and review sessions. The report card is discussed at regular parent/teacher interviews to keep you in close touch with your child's progress. Cornerstone Montessori Prep School, Toronto provides a positive and supportive environment where students challenge themselves, work hard, respect one another and strive to be the best they can.

      5. We challenge and empower our students to wonder, think, and act in ways that enable them to flourish as individuals and in their learning and relationships. We need to help our students find their meaning and purpose and thus enable them to make a difference to the people and communities in their lives. With Christ as our firm foundation, we collaborate with our students, families, and the wider community to provide a dynamic and innovative learning experience. We understand that choosing a school for your son or daughter is one of the most important decisions you will make as a parent. Please take some time to explore and discover how Cornerstone's beautiful grounds, outstanding facilities and resources, and, most importantly, our passionate, dedicated, and talented staff will provide authentic learning experiences for your child. We are a caring Christian community nurturing within students a growing relationship with Christ, which promotes individual excellence, learning, and responsibility for life. At Cornerstone, we seek to nurture individuals who are aware of their humanity, are open to the influence of the Holy Spirit, and growing in and living according to a cohesive worldview. All while living in the community and reflecting characteristics of God through core values, especially. The College's original vision began in 1984 with a group of dedicated Christians from various denominations who saw the need for a Christian secondary school in the Adelaide Hills. The vision culminated in the joining of the original group with the Lutheran Church to establish Cornerstone College. The College commenced in 1990 with 49 students, six staff, and a collection of temporary buildings built on this dream. The 16 hectares of magnificent land at Mount Barker now accommodate a student body of over 900 students from Years 7 to 12 and an array of specialist built, state-of-the-art facilities.
      6. MISSION To enable our students to be immersed and engaged in an up-to-date curriculum. To explore, understand, and critique everything with a Christian worldview. To identify and develop students’ unique God-given talents and plan for their life. To develop faith in Jesus Christ and actively pursue Godly wisdom for life. To identify and develop students’ unique God-given talents and plan for their life. To possess confidence, integrity, humility, discipline, and resilience. To demonstrate love, compassion, respect, and purity. To encourage enthusiasm and perseverance in learning. To develop a mindset in students to challenge their limits. To be responsible role-models in our community. To make a positive difference in the lives of others. Your focus is on Christ-centered student learning. We strive to live out and model biblical values daily. Education is seen through the lens of a Christian worldview. Students are guided to see themselves as Jesus sees them and encouraged them to be that person. Teachers intentionally build relationships with their students to provide a safe and secure learning environment. When students feel safe, they can participate in engaging and challenging activities teachers provide as they can take risks in their learning. We believe students should know what they are learning, how to be successful in that learning, and be supported by the teacher’s feedback. Teaching may be explicit, as well as consolidating knowledge and skills. At Cornerstone, we care as much about character as academic achievement. Character development is essential if our students are to be successful learners and valued citizens of the future. We encourage our students to be outward-looking and to serve the community when opportunities arise. We may do this through fundraising (e.g., Market Day), attendance at community events (e.g., ANZAC Day), or providing a community service (e.g., visiting elderly residents in care facilities). Providing adequate support for our students is a priority at Cornerstone. We have a dedicated Learning Support Centre that can work intensively with small groups of students. Our Learning and Support Coordinator works collaboratively with teachers to develop individual education plans with teachers referring students for academic testing as they deem necessary. The services of the School Psychologist (through the Association of Independent Schools in WA) and a Speech Pathologist and Occupational Therapist (Naturaliste Community Health Centre) are also called in to consult, assess and provide programs and suggestions for students who are at educational risk. The College has also employed Education Assistants (EAs) working throughout the primary school in Busselton, including our Early Learning Centre.

15. View full school
      16. Our teams have worked in Australian towns, cities, and college campuses for more than 30 years. Including long-term Cornerstone members, Diploma students, and graduates, the teams are part of our' front line', serving alongside local Christian and community groups, reaching out through incarnational, whole-of-life involvement the broader community. Supporting themselves through part-time work, the teams build bridges with people who are not connected with the local churches. Through involvement in neighborhoods, workplaces, schools, youth groups, and local clubs, they seek to serve the community and express God's revelation in relevant, compelling ways. Moreover, it is working. Lives are changed when people see a whole-of-life approach to following Jesus in action. If you would like to become part of a capable mission team, you can! Come to Cornerstone, be trained, and join with a 'band of brothers' in an adventurous mission, serving others, learning together, taking faith-risks, and growing in fruitfulness. Our purpose is to help people develop a Christian worldview that makes sense of life, and a robust Christ-like character. We equip students to enjoy and communicate a genuine and practical faith in communities across Australia. Our courses encourage a thorough examination of the original Christian story and its journey to the present day. Our communities and workplaces provide the perfect environment for asking questions, growing in character and skill, and putting our training into practice. We provide opportunities to regularly work along with side teachers in mission in our local neighborhoods. This holistic discipleship model grows when a person can walk with God while in the pumpkin field, leading youth group, or studying the Bible. OUR VALUES Obedience to, and dependence on, God. We value learning to listen to God and responding to the power of his Spirit. All of the life discipleship We value rigorous learning, intentionally shaping every aspect of life around following Jesus and enabling others to do the same. Missional community We value living closely in interdependence focused on God's purposes and marked by love for others. Simplicity We value a lavish yet simple lifestyle, both personally and structurally. Authenticity We value sharing real life with transparency, vulnerability, and efficient service. OUR MISSION To be communities sent as authentic expressions of God's life. These communities are shaped for others to join, be formed in the likeness of Jesus, and participate in His mission. OUR VISION We see redemptive communities of hope, deeply embedded in host communities. These communities are interconnected, partnering, and replicating. At Cornerstone, we believe that it's not just the chosen professional few that are called missionaries, but all of us in our everyday lives. In each stage of our course, we provide both pieces of training in the classroom and opportunities to engage creatively and meaningfully with the local community. Students are not only encouraged to connect with schools, churches, or community groups, but to think through how to love and serve their neighbors, peers, co-workers, and families to make food or art or music, or a welcoming home that communicates the heart and mind of God to live all of life as Jesus' hands and feet.
