  1. Our teams have worked in Australian towns, cities, and college campuses for more than 30 years. Including long-term Cornerstone members, Diploma students, and graduates, the teams are part of our ‘front line’, serving alongside local Christian and community groups, reaching out through incarnational, whole-of-life involvement in the wider community. Supporting themselves through part-time work, the teams build bridges with people who are not connected with the local churches. Through involvement in neighborhoods, workplaces, schools, youth groups, and local clubs, they seek to serve the community and express the revelation and presence of God in relevant, compelling ways. And it is working Lives are changed when people see a whole-of-life approach to following Jesus in action. If you would like to become part of an effective mission team, you can! Come to Cornerstone, be trained, and join with a ‘band of brothers in an adventurous mission, serving others, learning together, taking faith-risks, and growing in fruitfulness. Our purpose is to help people develop a Christian worldview that makes sense of life, and a robust Christ-like character. We equip students to enjoy and communicate a genuine and practical faith in communities across Australia. Our courses encourage a thorough examination of the original Christian story and its journey to the present day. Our communities and workplaces provide the perfect environment for asking questions, growing in character and skill, and putting our training into practice. We provide opportunities to regularly work alongside teachers in mission in our local neighborhoods. This holistic discipleship model grows a person that can walk with God while in the pumpkin field, leading youth group, or studying the Bible. OUR VALUES Obedience to, and dependence on, God. We value learning to listen to God and responding in the power of his Spirit. All of the life discipleship We value rigorous learning, intentionally shaping every aspect of life around following Jesus and enabling others to do the same. Missional community We value living closely in interdependence focused on God’s purposes and marked by love for others. Simplicity We value a generous yet simple lifestyle, both personally and structurally. Authenticity We value sharing real life with transparency, vulnerability, and practical service. OUR MISSION To be communities sent as authentic expressions of God’s life. These communities are shaped for others to join, to be formed in the likeness of Jesus, and to participate in His mission. OUR VISION We see redemptive communities of hope, deeply embedded in host communities. These communities are interconnected, partnering and replicating. At Cornerstone, we believe that it’s not just the chosen, professional few that are called to be missionaries, but all of us in our everyday life. In each stage of our course, we provide both pieces of training in the classroom and opportunities to engage creatively and meaningfully with the local community. Students are not only encouraged to connect with schools, churches, or community groups, but to think through how to love and serve their neighbors, peers, co-workers, and families to make food or art or music, or a welcoming home that communicates the heart and mind of God to live all of life as Jesus’ hands and feet.
