Our vision is to provide the highest quality Christian Education that prepares our students for a life of service to God. This is in line with Christian Schools Tasmania (the association that oversees our school). Our mission is to honor God through the provision of Christian education.

The curriculum for Kindergarten is based on the principles described in the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF) and emphasizes play-based learning. The curriculum for Prep to Year 6 is based on the National Australian Curriculum. Teachers plan learning experiences and units of work within the curriculum which strongly reflect, and are underpinned by, the Biblical worldview of our Christian School.
In the early 1980s, Calvin Christian School in Kingston had its Primary classes filled, so it was decided to start another Christian Primary School south of Kingston. A committee was formed, and by 1987 there was enough support from the Margate and Huonville areas and a good number of children to begin a school.
The first stage of the school was built mainly with voluntary labor by many future parents. There was great enthusiasm, a strong sense of community, commitment, and much joy in seeing the school erected in record time, ready for the opening in February 1988.
