Our vision and values are at the core of everything we do. They underpin our teaching and learning and provide an environment that prepares our pupils as confident, happy citizens. As a faith school, we aim to instill Christian values within our school. Each half term we promote one of these values.

Archbishop Rowan Williams Church in Wales Primary School is a busy but friendly school, with lots going on. As a Voluntary Aided School, we are supported by both the Local Authority and the Church. We have excellent well-established links with Caldicot School, and our village nurseries Bluebelles and Cupcakes and Dinosaurs, along with many local nurseries.
We feel very proud and privileged to have such a talented team of staff, dedicated to providing nurture, care, support, and excellent provision to the children and their families. “Values For Life” are at the heart of our excellent teaching and learning experiences. We offer an “open door” policy where we welcome families to engage with the school, recognizing that by working together we can help each child to build a happy, healthy, and successful future.
Archbishop Rowan Williams Primary School was founded in 2001. Archbishop Rowan Williams is a Voluntary Aided School. This means that, although it is maintained by the Local Education Authority, the Church (through Monmouth Diocesan Council of Education) has considerable financial and administrative responsibilities. The School aims to provide an education that is Christian in both principle and practice and accordance with the teaching of the Anglican Church. While the teaching of religion is according to the tenets of the Church-In– Wales, as you would expect, there is no atmosphere of indoctrination in the school. Each morning there is an act of collective worship, which is shared at times throughout the week, with parents and local clergy. Christian values are built into the Ethos and teaching. It is difficult to explain the ‘ethos’ of a school, but easy to feel it.
