MDIS offers well-accredited courses in Business and Management, Engineering, Fashion Design, Health and Life Sciences, Information Technology, Mass Communications, Nursing, Psychology and Travel, Tourism, and Hospitality Management. These programs are offered in collaboration with renowned universities in the United Kingdom and the United States of America.
MDIS has a history of providing training and educational services to the community and nation. The S$35 million MDIS Campus in Stirling Road occupies a three-hectare land area. It boasts of 70 well-equipped classrooms, five computer laboratories, four life sciences laboratories, four engineering laboratories and workshops, three fashion labs, a psychology laboratory, a hospitality training center, a media hub (TV and Radio studios), as well as the MDIS Bakery and Culinary Studio. The campus also has an amphitheater to house art performances and other events, as well as fully-equipped sports facilities such as a gymnasium and badminton courts.
The campus is Wi-Fi enabled, allowing students access to the World Wide Web anywhere on campus. MDIS enhances students' learning experience with the Blackboard Learning System and video streaming technology that allows online access to lecture notes, learning resources, and recorded lessons anytime, anywhere.MDIS has another learning center, MDIS Dhoby Ghaut, at Orchard Road.
MDIS strives to provide a holistic educational environment for its students. Apart from the technical knowledge, MDIS also aspires to equip its students with soft skills that would benefit their public and private spheres of life. The MDIS Experience is a series of programs targeted at self-development which maximizes the students' innate talents while improving areas that require enhancement. Being the oldest and most established not-for-profit professional institute in Singapore, MDIS has always been aware of its role as a caring corporate citizen and has conscientiously reached out to help those in need. The Management Development Institute of Singapore (MDIS) is one of the leading private education institutions in Singapore. Founded in 1956, the Management Development Institute of Singapore (MDIS) is Singapore's oldest not-for-profit professional institute for lifelong learning. MDIS has two principal subsidiaries: Management Development Institute of Singapore Pte Ltd, to oversee its Singapore academic operations, and MDIS International Pte Ltd, to further its globalization strategy. The institute set up the MDIS Education Trust Fund in 1999 to support deserving students who have financial difficulties in pursuing their education in Singapore. To date, MDIS has awarded more than some 7,500 scholarships and bursaries totaling nearly S$6 million. The institute also upholds the spirit of giving by actively reaching out to help the young, elderly, and disabled, supporting various charities, and providing community assistance.
MDIS's corporate training arm, the Management Development, and Consultancy were set up in 1995 to cater to the workforce's training needs. In 2014, MDIS acquired the Service Quality Centre to diversify its offerings in training solutions and secure the institute's position as a premium provider of training solutions in the region.
Apart from the main Singapore campus, MDIS has three international campuses – Tashkent, Uzbekistan Johor, Malaysia, and Chennai, India, set up in 2008, 2013, and 2015. MDIS also has representative offices in China, India, Indonesia, Sri Lanka, Thailand, and agents throughout Southeast Asia. The Skills Development Fund (SDF) was established in October 1979 with the primary objective of encouraging employers to invest in skills upgrading of the workforce. The SDF does this by offering assistance as an incentive to companies to mount training programs for employees.
Management Development and Consultancy (MDC), the corporate training arm of MDIS has since its establishment in June 1995, played a leading role in meeting the changing needs of many business organizations. We provide a wide range of well-designed programs, specially catered for business organizations with different training needs. Our essential services include seminars, customized training programs, and business consulting services designed to equip professionals with the essential tools of the trade by putting theoretical knowledge into practice for our training programs. MDC has since become a reputable company recognized for developing the next wave of dynamic corporate and business professionals, both locally and regionally.MDC is committed to developing high-quality programs with accredited trainers, providing training solutions at pace with the dynamic changes in the business world.
