Indiana Tech was founded as a small engineering college for men in 1930. It has transformed over the years into a comprehensive university with a wide range of academic programs for men and women of all ages. The original building in Fort Wayne was outgrown long ago, and classes are now offered at campuses throughout Indiana and Kentucky with additional worldwide attendance through online programs. What follows are highlights and milestones for each decade.
Indiana Tech provides learners a professional education that prepares them for active participation, career advancement, and leadership in the global 21st-century society and motivates them toward a life of significance and worth.
If you are graduating from high school soon and are applying to college for the first time, let us show you the Indiana Tech difference. If your current college is not a good fit or looking for more out of a college, let us show you how we can be a good fit. Attending college in another country can be a challenging experience. At Indiana Tech, you will feel like this is your second home. Affording a college education does not have to be out-of-reach. There are several ways to make an Indiana Tech education affordable.
There are dozens of scholarships available to help you pay for college. If you are an international student, you can learn more about our International Scholarship. Private scholarships are also available, with new ones becoming available often.
Indiana Tech values community leaders and would like to recognize students who exhibit leadership potential while demonstrating the university's core values. The Presidential Scholarship will recognize students for their achievements and encourage them to grow their leadership abilities.
This is a full-tuition scholarship. It is renewable for up to a total of eight semesters to help you achieve your first baccalaureate degree. Ideal candidates will show concrete examples of how they have led within their communities. Candidates should have an attitude of continuous improvement and seek to improve their leadership abilities while helping others. To encourage this, the university will require this scholarship to complete annual leadership projects within the campus or local community. In selecting recipients of the Presidential Scholarship, preference may be given to candidates who have established contributions within the Fort Wayne community, especially within the East Central neighborhood.
Indiana Tech is offering a new scholarship opportunity that expands the reach of its Northeast Indiana Regional Scholarship, which was implemented late in 2015. Along with the new Indiana Tech Regional Scholarship, it is for day students (students taking traditional semester-long courses on campus in Fort Wayne.)
Regardless of your background, rest assured Indiana Tech fosters a diverse, friendly, and safe learning environment committed to your development. The Career Center provides several resources to our students to prepare for and land their ideal job.
Each Indiana Tech student is assigned a faculty advisor to help with choices about curriculum and coursework. The advisors are full-time faculty members and are specially equipped to discuss various academic issues. Advisors are selected based on the specific academic needs of your area of study. Once your advisor is assigned, you will receive his or her phone number and email address so that you can contact him or her at your convenience.
The Office of Student Success encompasses a wide range of programs and services to support your academic endeavors. We provide academic coaching, tutoring, services for students with disabilities, veteran affairs, and understanding staff to help you over the bumps on the collegiate road.
Your Indiana Tech education is not confined within our classrooms. Your coursework is just a foundation for you to build on with experiences you choose to feed your passions, satisfy your curiosity, and develop your talents. Through professional organizations, honor societies, scholarly competitions, and study trips, you will graduate with an impressive résumé, not just a diploma.
Student organizations are one of the primary areas of connection and leadership development on campus. Through these organizations, students can connect with others who have similar interests. Joining an organization is an excellent way for new students to meet and know returning students, faculty, and staff. As members become more involved in their organizations, they will have the opportunity to grow into leadership positions and begin meeting other organizational leaders across campus to find unique ways their organizations can help each other grow.
Andorfer Commons is an integral meeting place for campus life. From the 210-seat movie theater to the decked-out Recreation Center, there are many places to meet with friends and faculty or staff. It hosts many student organization meetings and events and serves as a home for many departments that strive to help students be more successful at everything they do. The Student Affairs Suite is the point of contact for student programming and events, student organizations, intramurals, housing, and much more.
