As a unique university of teacher education, KNUE collectively prepares kindergarten, primary school, and secondary school, teachers. It also provides continuous teacher education and conducts comprehensive educational research to establish a well-deserved reputation. Also, with its concentration on education, it is a revolutionary university.
The Korea National University of Education is becoming a global university by encouraging international cultural experience, international volunteer service, international educational field training, and academic and cultural exchanges with sister universities.
The University has established exchange programs with prominent foreign universities and colleges to work collaboratively with the global community, increase international understanding, and promote research in our University. In particular, KNUE has had exchanges with universities and colleges that conduct pre-service education, in-service education, and research on the education of teachers ranging from kindergarten to high school that focus on the following activities:
- Joint research and educational activities
- Scholar Exchange(faculty and research personnel) for lectures, visited, research, and sharing of experiences

The university newspaper reports various events on and off-campus about student activities. It also publishes educational articles in consideration of university characteristics. The Newspaper carries the hottest issues in academic, social, and cultural fields and essays written by professors, staff, and students of the University. In this way, the university newspaper helps to establish a university culture and over-all university development.
The University encourages and supports student extra-curricular activities to help cultivate sound emotions and inspire students with campus life identity. Students take the initiative to create a college culture by promoting friendship through student associations, student clubs, and hosting various academic presentations. Significantly, the Cheong-Ram Festival in May and the I3aedongje in October are highlights among the students' creative activities.
