The mission of the Northern (Arctic) Federal University named after M.V. Lomonosov consists of creating innovative scientific and human resources for an intellectual exploration of the Russian North and Arctic.NArFU’s strategic tasks are closely linked with the implementation of the national geopolitical interests in the Arctic. Russia lacks experts and technologies to develop its Arctic area, its continental shelf, and infrastructure. The University creates conditions necessary to support the industrial projects being launched in the polar region with personnel and technologies. Apart from skill development, it offers education in the social and humanitarian field of studies.
Northern (Arctic) Federal University named after M.V. Lomonosov is a brand new ambitious university of distinctiveness and innovations designed to meet the needs of the Russian North and the Arctic. Set up based on Arkhangelsk State Technical University (ASTU), the Northern (Arctic) Federal University named after M.V. Lomonosov (NArFU) is a higher education institution established by RF President Dmitry Medvedev’s Decree dd. 8 June 2010. The University can already boast many achievements, and the plans for the future are also promising. Northern Arctic Federal University is pleased to invite foreign specialists interested in teaching and research at the University for a period exceeding one semester.
NArFU’s personnel policy aims to increase the University’s HR potential, training highly qualified professionals, and promote internationalization and international cooperation.NArFU is home to experienced researchers and an innovative research infrastructure comprising scientific and educational units, shared use of equipment centers, research and teaching centers, laboratories, and cutting-edge innovative technologies. The University’s research performance has increased fivefold since 2010.
NArFU Mission: protection of Russian geopolitical and economic interests in the Arctic by creating a system of continuous professional education, integration of education, science, and industry, and strategic partnership with business. Over recent years the Northern (Arctic) Federal University and various European institutions have established collaborative degree initiatives at the undergraduate and graduate levels to advance friendly relations and promote educational cooperation between partner institutions.
