Nihon Institute of Medical Science, a member of the Josai Group, traces its beginning to Josai Business School, established in 1918. The Institute was founded in 2007 with Josai College of Medical Arts & Sciences as a forerunner. Together with this College, the Institute has sent out many specialists in health and medicine into Japanese society.
In Japan, we provide world-class, cutting-edge medical care. Medical Science will further advance at a rapid pace. Since medical care has to be provided based on scientific evidence, we need to acquire the same knowledge and technology level.
However, medical science is not perfect. We cannot prevent or cure all kinds of diseases. You may get sick even if you lead a healthy lifestyle. Early diagnosis does not always assure complete recovery.
We have to face this circumstance with our patients. Thus, we need to have kindness, consideration, preparation, and qualification as medical professionals.
Therefore, the Nihon Institute of Medical Science (NIMS) provides knowledge and technology based on scientific evidence and cultivates humanities based on its predecessor, Josai College of Medical Arts and Sciences.
We support students to acquire knowledge and technology in response to the demands of the times and enriched humanities during the four years at NIMS.
The Institute's mission is to offer quality education in the allied health professions, enabling the students to stay on the highly advanced and specialized medicine. The spirit of foundation, "Repayment of kindness with gratitude," handed down since the Group's beginning, lies at the core of the Institute's educational efforts.
The Institute believes that it is no longer enough to provide programs for students to be equipped with knowledge and skills. Students are expected to acquire skills to assist the clients in the increasingly fractionalized clinical sites fully. The Institute provides an inter-professional learning environment with the participating disciplines, including nursing, radiological technology, physical therapy, occupational therapy, and clinical engineering. It is of primary importance to foster heart-to-heart communication skills as true medical professionals.
The Nihon Institute of Medical Science is highly aware of the graveness of the health hazards caused by smoking and strives to develop medical professionals who protect those around them.
